Summary: “We can’t live without each other. You’re my other half.” “I’ve killed a woman.” The domineering voice on the phone was that of a high school classmate, Mitsuo Ichikawa(Shunsuke). They reunite as accomplices, yet their relationship as master and servant slowly changes into something else.

Double Mints live action is based on the manga with the same title, by Nakamura Asumiko. As almost all her works, expect a dark, unusual BL story. The movie was a low budget, but one really can’t tell, as they did a great job. It’s usually hard for me to like the characters in a live action after having read the manga it’s based on, but these actors actually did a great job. I really loved the fact that there was no awkwardness between the actors, as it happens a lot of time in BL dramas, and I can say that this is one of the best performances I’ve seen in a J-movie.
