Hello everyone. This is my first thread here, even though I have been a member for a while. Here's the scoop. I just heard today, while writing on a message board(not about yaoi, or manga, so I put their knowledge in questioning), that they don't use the word yaoi in japan anymore. I sat there for almost 5 minutes, mouth open, question marks over my eyes. They don't say yaoi in Japan anymore? But I spoke to my friends there last week, and we talked about the latest yaoi mangas, magazines, movies, animé..... What did I miss? Yeah, I know they're putting both yaoi and shounen-ai under the "BL umbrella" more and more, but my friends have only left shounen-ai, and calls it BL, but not yaoi. I don't think they're calling it yaoi just for my benefit... Is this really true? Is "yaoi" no longer used in japan?
