Hi ho there! I'm pretty new, so forgive me in case I posted this in the wrong section. Couldn't really decide on the best place to ask this..:cuteonion24: I wanted to buy some paper (or in case there aren't any paper versions, then ebook) manhwas but couldn't find an online store selling them. I'm into the whole Shoujo,Josei and Yaoi genre area, so one would think that it'd be easy to find...Tough luck there. I'm looking -for example- for Sweet Blood by Kim Young-se (달콤한 피 by 김세영 ).. I often buy mangas in Japanese shops and have them shipped here but I'm absolutely clueless when it comes to getting Korean stuff.Japanese bookstores seem to hate Korean stuff (a lot like most of them hate international customers, I've come to believe o.ô). You don't even find them on amazon.jp, which has a pretty brought spectrum..So where would you go to to get Korean books? I found this website (http://www.ruvill.com) that I guess sells ebook versions. But again - I'm not able to speak Korean, so I don't understand the website/buying options, plus I'd prefer to get paper versions for my bookshelves. Is there a site where I can check, if a book has been translated into Japanese from Korean or Chinese? I understand Japanese, so of course I'd prefer J versions over K or C versions. Before any writing you need to know basic alphabet or structure of language you are try to learn. Korean(한글han-gul) has 14 consonants(자음ja-eum) and 10 vowels(모음mo-eum). First, let us know what 14 consonants are. ㄱ(기역gi-yeog) ㄴ(니은 ni-eun) ㄷ(디귿 di-geud) ㄹ(리을 li-eul) ㅁ(미음 mi-eum) ㅂ(비읍 bi-eub) ㅅ(시옷 si-od) end written sound is S but coming out sound is D. ㅇ(이응 i-eung) ㅈ(지읒 ji-eud) end written sound is J but coming out sound is D ㅊ(치읓 chi-eud) end written sound is CH but coming out sound is D. ㅋ(키읔 ki-eug) end written sound is K but coming out sound is G. ㅌ(티읕 ti-eud) end written sound is T but coming out sound is D. ㅍ(피읖 pi-eub) end written sound is P but coming out sound is B. ㅎ(히잏 hi-eud) end written sound is H but coming out sound is D. With this there are double up one… for sound just ad Ssang in front. ㄲ(쌍기역 Ssang-gi-yeog) ㄸ(쌍디귿 Ssang-di-geud) ㅃ(쌍비읍 Ssang-bi-eub) ㅆ(쌍시옷 Ssang-si-od) ㅉ(쌍지읒 Ssang-ji-eud) And there is some consonants go together. So now let learn about 10 vowels. ㅏ(a) ㅑ(ya) ㅓ(eo) ㅕ(yeo) ㅗ(o) ㅛ(yo) ㅜ(woo / u) ㅠ(yoo / yu) ㅡ(eu) ㅣ(i) This vowels also mix together to work. ㅐ(ae) ㅒ(yae) ㅔ(e) ㅖ(ye) ㅘ(wa) ㅙ(wae) ㅚ(oe) ㅝ(wo) ㅞ(we) ㅟ(wi) ㅢ(ui) These are the most basic you need to know before structuring into word... Some people said Korean is most scientific language in the world. The building structure of Korean isn’t easy, but long as you know how to put consonants and vowels together it will be easy to put together. And the sound of the word will not change much at all... So what you write is what you get. So let built up some word. First, let use first consonant and vowel together. 가(ga) – Go! Even just one consonant and one vowel together made into the word. There are many other... Like 나(na) – I or Me, 다(da) – Everything, 라(la) – sound La, 마(ma) – it’s some kind of root veggie, 바(ba) – Bar, 사(sa) – Four, 아(a) – Ah, 자(ja) – Ruler, Go to sleep! 차(cha) – Car, 파(pa) – Dig or sound Fa, 하(ha) – laugh sound Ha Like this... even one work also could have many meaning. Also, you could put other consonant under this single word. 각(gak) – angle or each I will stop here for today. I don’t want you to over work on from first lesson. ^^ Next lesson will be making word with ㄱ as first letter... If you have any question on lesson or any word you want to know or make just ask. Hi! or so Bye! – This is basic greeting use for your friend or some one in your age group or younger. [/font][/size] 안녕히주무셨어요? (An-nyeong-hi ju-mu-syeoss-a-yo?) Did you sleep well? – This is also for older people. [/font][/size] 잘잤니? (Jal jass-ni?) Did you sleep well? – to younger people to polite way. 좋은아침! (Joh-eun a-chim!) Good morning! – this can be use to every one but if you want to use to older person you have to put 이예요(i-Ye-yo!) in the end. 좋은하루보내! (Joh-eun a-chim bo-nae!) Have a great morning! – also can used any age but if it for the older person this time add 세요(se-yo!) in the end. 잘다녀오세요! (Jal Dan-nyeo-o-se-yo!) – this is kind of said to older who go out but will come back home. 다녀 mean go 오세요 mean come... so it’s sound like go and comeback… ^^;;; but, with 잘at front it mean save trip and come home. 다녀오겠습니다! (Dan-nyeo-o-gyess-seub-ni-da!) – this is when younger person going out and come back later said it... most time children said to mother when they go to school. 점심드셨어요? (Jeom-sim deu-syeoss-a-yo?) Did you have a lunch? – to older person. 점심먹었어? (Jeom-sim meog-eoss-a?) Did you have a lunch? – to friend or close people. 점심먹었니? (Jeom-sim meog-eoss-ni? Did you have a lunch? – to younger person. 남은하루도즐겁게보내세요! (Nam-eun ha-lu-do jeul-geob-ge bo-nae-se-yo!) Keep enjoy remain day too! 힘내서파이팅! (Him-nae-seo Fa-i-ting!) Put your strength and fighting! – well this is for cheering so you could use many way... just don’t use some one who is way older... like grand pa... ^^;;; If you want to said to older person just said, “힘내세요!(Him-nae-se-yo!). 잘가!(Jal ga!)
