707 Posted September 21, 2012 Share Posted September 21, 2012 It had been a hectic day and as usual Azrael's boss had been a total pain. He knew he didn't have any reason to complain but still...work in the office was supposed to be shared not everything being given to him. He sighed, grumbling derogatory things about high-end peoples. It was this kinds of days that he needed the cleansing refuge of the city park. It was probably the only place that gave and made him calm. He smiled, it was so rare that he did so that the skin felt weird moving the way it did, spotting his resting place. It was a cherry tree just near the edges of the park. He sat and rested his back on the familiar trunk and felt the tribulations of the day melting away. He sighed, looking up and marveling at the raw beauty of the cherry tree in full bloom. It was then that he noticed in his periphery a very peculiar sight. A few feet away from him was a bench with a guy sitting on it. Azrael stared. There was something about this guy that intrigued him. "Hn.." Azrael murmured. "It's just one of those things that I won't be able to influence..." 707 Posted September 21, 2012 Share Posted September 21, 2012 Azrael yawned, blinking softly as he rubbed his eyes. It was already dark and the soft rumbling of the sky meant that it would probably be pouring that night. He shrugged, gathering his things as he stood. He looked back at the bench and was surprised to find himself disappointed that it was empty. He looked at his watch and cursed. It was half past nine. Normally it was fine to stay out late but he'd heard from the news that a gang of bikers had been recently terrorizing the city in the evening and the police have yet to catch them. Azrael started walking towards his apartment. It wasn't far..probably less than 4 blocks away. But as he exited the park, he noticed that he was being followed and he didn't know if it was a group or not. He knew that he could easily hold his ground against two, maybe three, people but against an entire group coupled with dangerous weapons, he knew he had no chance. May be it was pride or stupidity-Azrael didn't know, but knowing the lurking danger behind him, he did nothing. He just walked calmly home. And it had been a big mistake. Maybe. At the second block, Azrael knew that he was cornered so he stopped. "What do you want?" He stated out-loud, his voice not showing the underlying tension within. A person appeared on his left then followed by another one, three appeared on his right, four behind him, and one in front. The guy in front of him was huge, probably the biggest of the group. The big guy, probably the boss of the group, sneered. "What do we have here? Is he your boyfriend or something?" He taunted with a grotesque smile. "We don't want any trouble.." Azrael hissed through gritted teeth. He'd be in big trouble tomorrow if his files were to get wet beyond comprehension. "Don't want any trouble?" One of the guys on his left laughed. He looked at the guy behind him and unconsciously took a step back. Whether what he saw happened or not, this guy in front of him was extremely dangerous. And he didn't intend to risk his wellbeing to such a person. He took another step back, while maintaining a facade of calm. "Who are you-rather, what are you?" Azrael narrowed his gaze. He didn't know if this guy, Gabriel, he mentally corrected, was telling the truth. But after what just happened, Azrael was willing to consider the fact that it was not an entire impossibility for vampires to exist. "Hn.." He murmured, noticing that the rain was starting to fall more incessantly than before. "For the sake of argument, let's say that I believe you" He stared unflinchingly at the other, the rain making it a bit difficult for him not to blink. "Why go all that trouble to help me? 'I just made friends with a vampire' He thought to himself, shaking his head in amazement as he ran towards his apartment. He probably will be asking for a sick leave for tomorrow just for him to finish his ruined report. Before he entered his apartment though, he looked back once more just reassure himself that everything actually happened and not just a lapse of his sanity. 707 Posted September 22, 2012 Share Posted September 22, 2012 Azrael stepped out of his clothes the moment he entered his apartment. He threw them on a nearby hamper to be washed the next day. He walked around his apartment in naked confidence as he deposited his bag on a nearby kitchen counter. His papers were ruined and all of them needed to be rewritten. He walked towards the door, not bothering to put on some clothes other than his boxers. "What!?" He asked grumpily, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.
