Ashton watched as the fighting began, ducking to the ground despite the protection he had as the two beings fought over head him. He watched in silent horrow, noting the distressed look on Yurim's face and frowned. Knowing there had to be more behind this than first appeared, reaching up he tapped a hand on the glass and it evaporated in small shatters of glass like crystal. He knew for a fact that there was no point in trying to stand in the way, he stepped forward to help but felt a hand hold his shoulder back, his father speaking in a harsh tone. "No, My Son. This one is not your battle." Ash looked at him in confusion before he nodded and stepped back, watching until the loast blow had been struck. His gaze was one that seemed to have hardened from the innocent, naive one that he wore a few days ago.

Standing still as The Angel once more appraoched him, the look on his face was one of cold heart break." Glancing to the side he took a minute to let the shattered remains of his home, it was the place that children had once run through the streets, a place that humans dreamed of going one day, a paradise. But now, it was nothing but a destroyed civilization. He gave Yurim a cold look, colder than he had ever given anyone. "No your not, your sorry that lives were lost, not what lives, nor the value of them, just the amount. Get ready, we are leaving, now." He spoke with a cut tone. "You need the pages of the missing book right, you can locate them with this." He lifted the necklace around his neck. "However I am tied to it as it is me, so if I die, then your stuck searching the earth until the end. "

Without even waiting for an answer he turned and began to head to the shattered remains of the front gate, walking through as flames crackled around them. Walking past the remains of his dear mother, his childhood friends, the guards who would sneak him treats after it was past his bed time. With his head held high and all the pride that a prince should hod, he walked away from his shattered home. Snow began to fall for it had cooled dramatically, and the rain was slowly beginning to freeze where it had fallen on the ground later.

"No your not, your sorry that lives were lost, not what lives, nor the value of them, just the amount."

Yurim smiled sadly to himself. Ashton was right but to such a young race that it was natural. The boy really cared for his people very deeply, but Yurim's concern was not only for them but the entirety of creation itself. He sighed, sometimes mortals were just so hard to understand. With their petty sentiments, they never try to think before they act.

"What happened here is not a part of fate." He stated as he followed the brooding teen. "This was not supposed to happen. And anything that is not supposed to happen can be undone." He stated as the young elf stiffened, but continued to walk nonetheless. "IF we do gather all the missing pieces of the Book of Life," He started, knowing that he had the elf's attention. "I MAY be able to bring you to Eden. And IF we WERE successful in its purification, I will allow you to approach the Tree of Knowledge." He stated, matter of factly. "From there, you MAYBE given the knowledge on how to undo what has happened to your race." He nodded as Ashton gave him a questioning look. "Yes, everyone who was lost will return. Everything that was destroyed will be fixed, but an undoing that massive will have a price and only the Tree can tell you what it is."

Yurim sighed as they continued, wondering if it was a good idea to tell the elf what he just told him.

And there is also the other thing.. He thought to himself as he looked at other's back intently, wondering to himself on where they should start. And if the Elf Prince would be ready when....IF...the time called for it.

Ashton continued to wakl, not really nowing where to go as of yet but anywhere was better than the old palace. Even from here he could smell the stinch of burning flesh in the air, all he could here was the distant crackling as it was slowly put out by the lingering guards. He listened to the other speak and stiffened as he heard the words "Can be undone." He could be with his mother again, one day he could pretend like none of that had ever happened, that he could play with Tarshiya and Malichia once more, they could skip stones and enjoy life in it's fullest. Then he realized that his way of seeing it may be different than the others. "No, I will not undo it. If you choose to that's honestly your doing, but weither it was ment to happen or not it happened. Things happen in life, not all are going to be good, but we don't get retries, that much is certain. I will not be undoing it." His voice was soft and curt as he continued to walk along, his perk ears twitched lightly as his eyes frosted a bit with a lighter blue as they did from time to time. He felt the trickling sensation from behind his eyes but refused to allow any tears to be shed, he was a prince and would not cry. He glanced down at his necklace that was a simple shade of white. "It will turn blue and burn if we get close to any pages, did you have anywhere you want to start?"

Yurim stopped. That was a good question. He looked at Ashton, his eyes drifting towards said necklace. Then an idea hit him. He floated towards the prince, barely an inch keeping then apart and crouched so that his face was leveled with the other's. "May I?" He whispered, not understanding why the other was so red.

Yurim took hold of the elf's necklace and concentrated, widening his awareness as far as he could. Then he saw them. Eight of them. And all of them were in someone else's possession. He frowned, still concentrating. There was one who was in possession of two of the pages and that was a problem. He probed deeper and had to stop himself from flinching back when the being responded back.

Ah, It said. The keeper. What are you doing here on Earth? Don't you have more pressing matters in Eden? It asked, amusement clear in its gruff voice.

Who are you? Was the only question that Yurim could ask.

You KNOW me, Keeper. The voice was clearly amused and if Yurim didn't know any better, he'd guess that the voice was smirking. Then it hit him, he KNEW that voice.

Sammael! Yurim gasped, caught unaware at his revelation. What are you doing with the pages?

OH, Keeper Sammael gasped dramatically. You wound me. I'm merely 'playing' with them at the moment.

I will GET them from you. Yurim silently warned.

And I will be ready. Sammael's voice grew cold as their mental talk ended just as abruptly as it started.

Yurim scowled and let the necklace go. Sammael was going to be a BIG problem. He sighed as he looked at Ashton. "We go to the place humans call Alaska. In it's eastern part there is a mountain covered in glacier. Inside we will find the holder of the first page." He nodded hesitantly. "But I will train you first. You are in no way capable of fighting humans and or creatures that have been possessed by the page's power."

Ashton heard the crunching behind him stop and slowed down himself, glancing over his shoulder in confusion. Turning around entirely and taking a step towards Yurim as he asked "Hey, you alright there?" However he didn't get an answer as he soon found himself face to face with the guardian, a red tint spread from his ears to his cheeks then back up at there proximity. He was a prince, very few were allowed, or ever dared for that matter to approach him to closely less they risk the possibility of getting tackled by Royal security. He tried to take a step away from the man as he reached for his necklace but stumbled a bit so had to stay still.

He and the necklace had been connected since birth, he was ment to die as a newborn. The climate had risen and his kind did very bad in hot weather of any kind, so he became sick and he became sick rather quickly. They brought in a healer whom bound him to the necklace in order to strengthen him, and as a result he never got sick and his magical abilities and glamour, which he hadn't taken down so very few new what he actually looked like, were among the most powerful around. The moment Yurim used the power to expand it Ash's eyes frew a frosty shade of silver, seeming to resonate with the power as he grew rigid. The moment the necklace was released Ash stumbled back, reaching up and clasping his hand around the cool crystal sightly, almost protectively.

Looking at the other in confusion "Alaska? I think I knew where to find that, it's not that far actually, about three days ride on hoarse, two days if I run." He looked around for a moment before locating the direction it was in and motioning towards it with his head. "It's that way actually, and I do not need training, I am a prince i'll have you know. It's not like i'm some weak human." He glowered in annoyance.

"I know.." Yurim replied, shaking his head lightly. "But I will be the judge of that." He looked back at the boy and smiled if a bit apologetically. "Most of the things that we will be fighting will be a lot stronger than me. They will try to break you from the inside out and judging from the day before," Here Yurim smirked. "Your mental defenses are as weak as a wet piece of parchment." He chuckled at the prince's affronted look. "Do not worry. The first part of your training will be easy and will probably not take you any effort."

Yurim floated beside the prince and smiled encouragingly. "I will enter your consciousness and you will try to block me out." He looked beside him when Ashton asked if that was all. He nodded. Then without any sort of warning, he extended some of his awareness and focussed them at the prince. As he suspected, not a second later, Ashton's defenses crumbled easily. "Keep moving." He chided as the other stopped. "In battle, you need to be constantly alert and always in the move. Stop for a second and that may mean your life." He slowed down as the other tried to catch up with him. "I may be watching your back, but I can not do everything for you."

Yurim finished, extending a part of his awareness towards the prince. He smiled a little when his defenses held for the briefest of second before crumbling down, Ashton faltering in his steps. "Constant awareness.." He reminded as the two of them continued like that for the remainder of the day.

Ashton growled ever so slightly "Really now, and who are you to be the judge of my mental status? You do not know me, you do not understand me, so do not assume you do. I refuse to acknowledge you as a higher being than myself regardless if you are or not. So do not belittle me. "He turned in the direction of Alaska and began walking however he no sooner started walking than he felt himself stop cold, something was crawling around in his head and the feeling made him very uneasy, stumbling slightly in annoyance he continued walking. "Could you not do that, I said I was fine!" He was really starting to get upset, not only at the fact that the other was doing it, but the fact that he couldn't seem to stop him either.

When it happened again he was a bit more prepared and managed to hold fast to his ground for a few seconds before once more crumbling under the pressure of it and stumbling more, falling to his knees for a moment before straightening up and trotting back to where the other continued to walk. It took him about three hours before he had an idea, the next time the other tried to enter his mind he used the icy frost of the necklace, power coursing through Ashton and reversing it for a brief moment he saw the man from before, the one that had already been dead, in Yuri's mind, laughing and smiling at who must have been the Angel. Pulling back quickly he cast his gaze away as he mumbled a soft "Sorry, I didn't mean to..."

Yurim turned around so swiftly that his wings almost hit Ashton on the face, his displeasure clearly written across his face. Then he hesitated. It was so rare that he did so that the feeling was peculiar. "Very well," He conceded, glaring at a nearby bush. "If you do not wish my help, then so be it. But remember that I am sworn to your father." He warned, his voice turning cold. "I would die first before you."

The two traveled in compressing silence, not knowing what to say or do. Yurim wondered what would he been doing if Lilith didn't break the Sacred Pact. I'd probably still be at the archives. He thought to himself. And Michael would probably be annoying me to eternity. He hung his head, forcing his tears not to fall. Mortals would worry about their own problems and continue to fight each other even though they know that helping each other would be more productive. He looked at the heavens and wondered. Ashton's city would still be standing and his family complete. And the family of everyone else in there too. He hissed, wiping with the sleeves of his robe a stray tear that fell. Michael would probably berate me for being so cold towards these mortals and he has a right to do so. Yurim laughed bitterly, wondering how pathetic he looked at the moment. I wonder what has happened with the others. I hope they're all okay. He looked up as snow started to fall.

Ashton stumbled back a bit in order to avoid being smacked by a wing, looking at the ground and nodding slowly. He was a prince, prideful and naive, he did not want to except that he really was just a child in all honesty. He allowed his mind to wonder to what his father was doing, was he going to rebuild? Or maybe he could just relocate and start all over, leaving all the bloodshed and sorrow in those cursed grounds. If they did that Ashton would loose all his favorite spots in the woods and got a bit sad, then mentally scolded himself for being so selfish and childish.

Glacning over he saw the angel wipe a stray tear away and couldn't help but hit a pang of guilt, He is trying to help I suppose....me giving him such a hard time isn't helping either of us and will just make this trip longer. So eight huh? I can probably be civil until we can manage to collect them Sighing softly he looked back up, letting a small smile rest on his face as he began to whistle. As he did so the snow around them shifted a bit, noticeably and the longer he whistled for the more it shifted and swived around. Soon creating figures of things like dancing faires on the air, the snow swirled around them as he continued to go, trying his damnest to cheer up the other angel. When he had finished he couldn't help but let out a laugh, it was a childish and innocent kind of laugh, one that only a few pure souls could muster. The Young Princ ehad been damaged in his life, but even as his age he still captured and maintained the innocence of childhood.

Yurim heard Ashton laugh and couldn't help but chuckle even a little. He had no idea why they were suddenly laughing and he looked at the prince, ready to ask his question when he saw the pure innocence in the teen's face. He was sheltered and over protected. He thought to himself and that idea was like a beacon of hope in the middle of this suffering. If I could let it stay that way, I would. He crouched, picking up a handful of snow with a little bit of effort, and stared as it slowly melted on his hands. There are actually somethings that are beautiful in this place. No wonder the first humans loved this place so much that they even gave up the power of Eden jut to protect it. He sighed, catching up with Ashton. I wonder if he blames me for what has happened. He looked towards the horizon and smiled bitterly.I know I would. If I were him, I'd probably even hate myself. Yurim laughed and it was a hollow painful sound. An angel who know all there is to know about life, but haven't got a clue about living. Such irony, it's almost perfect for a joke the demons would love to tell. He hung his head in shame. Without even trying, I failed magnanimously.

Ashton sombered and smiled towards the sky as he relaxed, proud of himself for making the other smile and using that as an excuse to mentally pat himself on the back. He even allowed the smallest hope to scattered across his mind, Perhaps, things could be okay again? Maybe...just maybe somehow people could get over what happened without having to change everything back, after all, if I reverted it all,I would never be able to have met Yurim. But would that be for the best?He wondered silently, he noticed the temperature was dropping even more and even the icy elf began to shiver a bit. Looking around he wondered if they should stop and get the other something to eat and warm him up, he for one, doubted an angel would be okay in this kind of weather with all the no doubt new germs and bacteria lingering in the air. Turning to Yurim he gave a light nid "Are you alright, as in the weather and maybe you want some food? I'm not hungry nor am I to cold yet but I don't want you to get sick on this trip....well that is....if you can get sick?" He glanced towards the sky as it began to snow even harder, making it difficult for the two boys to even see,

Yurim heard Ashton ask him something, but most of the words that the teen used was foreign to him. "What's food?" He asked in fascinated curiosity. "What's hungry? What's sick?"

He was getting annoyed at the snow, hindering their progress a bit more as the time passed. Yurim raised his hand and the weather cleared. A cottage just a couple of meters away from them. He looked back at the elf and wondered why he was gaping like a fish out of water. "Is there something in my face?" He asked, absently running his hands across his cheeks. Then he got why the other was so dumbstruck. It was the questions. He mentally slapped himself on the head as he smiled apologetically. "We should go there to pass the night." He said pointing at the nearby cabin. "Then you can tell me all about this ting you call food and sick."

The cabin was empty but it was remotely clean in most places. It was fine for Yurim, but he didn't know for Ashton. There was one bed and a place where pointed objects were and some fruits. "Is this part of the house called a weaponry?" He asked glancing at the elf.

Ashton simply blinked at the other, his mouth hanging open just slightly in shock. "Um well wow? You miss out on a lot if you've never eaten before? Although I suppose never getting hungry would be a plus."The prince spoke absent minded as he continued towards the cottage, he noticed the clearing towards the cottage and stopped for a moment looking at it in wary caution. It's not like it was exactly custom to walk into a strangers house out of the blue, however he decided to trust this new beings judgment and mmade his way on as well. Stepping into the house and walking straight to the bed, falling face first onto it and letting out a long groin. "We must have been walking for hours!" He whinned a bit spoiledly as he rolled over and sat up to face the Angel, preparring to explain."Okay, so food is something humans, well humans and us eat in order to stay strong and healthy. It is what fuels us and helps us to get going, without it we would die from something called malnourishment."

Sitting up all the way he made his way over to the the table that held the fruits. "That is where you are supposed to eat usually, and these" Reaching over he picked up an orange and split it open, taking a piece of it and holding it out to Yurim. Waiting until he held it firmly and taking a piece for himself, slowly plopping it in his mouth and chewing it, then swallowing. "There, just like that. You have to eat it slowly though, or you could choke." Shifting back on his feet he kneeled down and lay with his back on the floor."And being sick,or ill is where someones immune system is attacked by germs, they get sick, there forehead gets hot and well us elves over heat, if I get hot I will get sick but if a human get's to cold they will get sick. Trust me, it's a blessing to not have illness."

Yurim popped the given 'food' to his mouth and MOANED. It was something very new and intoxicating. He couldn't explain why but it was like....like having an orgasm, albeit for the mouth. He frowned and listened as Ashton talked about something called sickness. "Sounds painful," He commented, wondering if mortals feel the same way he felt when they ate. He looked around and spotted another 'food' that was like the one that Ashton had given him. He took it and gave the elf half of it, watching in silent fascination as the other ate it. "Well?" He asked, wondering why Ashton had no expression in eating it. Yurim frowned and steadied himself, as if he was about to enter into battle. He put the 'orange' in his mouth. And MOANED, again. He glared at the offending piece of food, "I WILL beat you." He stated to it, but the way he smiled while chewing the food told Ashton otherwise. "If eating is this so pleasurable," He started staring at the elf intently. "Why are you not doing it constantly?"

Ashton had gazed off into space for a moment and was brought back by a lou,d echoing moan, sitting straight up he gave the other a look, trying to see what the hell happened. Frowning in confusion when he found none, Did all angels moan spuratically? He snickered at the thought and lazily pulled himself to his feet with a small laugh as he nodded. "Being sick is no fun at all, I am lucky not to get sick at all though, I haven't been sick since I was very very small."Reaching up he took the piece of fruit and popped it in his mouth, wishing he had something spicy for the other to try, that would certainly be a show. He blinked back in confusion "Well what? It's just an orange?" Ashton watched with wide eyes at the oh so mighty angel declaring battle with a piece of fruit, he rocked back and fourth with laughter. Wipping his face clean he smiled, pointing to his belly "See this? It will get super big and you would have very little energy to do much if you over ate, it;s usually to have three meals a day, the first is called breakfast, that is supposed to be your biggest meal, the second is lunch, your second biggest meal, and the smallest and last is supposed to be dinner. You can also have light snacks in between." He glanced outside and heard the wind banking against the cottage door and sighed " I don't think we wil be going anywhere tonight."

Yurim frowned as Ashton howled with laughter. He sniffed, raising his nose in the air as an act of childish petulance. He had every right to declare battle against this....this.....orange.

He looked up as he heard the other say that his stomach was gonna get big and Yurim wondered if he should stop eating altogether. But his fears were calmed when Ashton told him that it was normal to eat THREE times every day. And there were also snacks in between. Then he frowned. "What's a snack?" He asked, taking a more delicate bite from his orange, and had to pound his fists against the kitchen counter to stop himself from moaning the third time.

Yurim looked back at Ashton and had to stop himself from laughing. The elf had the most peculiar expression on his face. It was like he was trying not to laugh but failing miserably, his cheeks puffing out and coloring at very different intervals.

Everything would be fine. Yurim though to himself, smiling genuinely for the first time in three days. "What foods do you usually eat in the morning?" He asked, wondering if Ashton's term of large was the same as his while the snow storm outside the cabin turned into a full blown blizzard.

Ashton bit into his lower lip, trying so very hard not to fly avoss the room with laughter. Watching the others childish manner, This wasn't so bad now that he saw the other has some human qualities. He pointed to the orange "That is a snack, a snack is something that is a smaller portion than an actual meal. A meal typically has three courses, breakfast is classically fruit and salads for us, perhaps some light pastries. But for humans I think the most classic breakfast is Bacon,Eggs, and Toast most likely. We will have to find you some if we are unfortunate enough to cross a few humans along our way. Ash tilted his head away, biting his lip even harder as he shook with barely concealed laughter. This was all just to rich! He would show the other all the different kind of foods there were and how to make some. He also let out the fact that in order to make bacon you had to slaughter a pig and basically kill chicklings in order to eat them, figuring that would be to much for the angel to bare. Sitting on the edge of the bed he continued to tell the other how each different part of the wold had there own types of specialty foods, he had gotten to sushi in Japan when he caught hold of a boottle of what looked like whine. Holding it up he smiled lightly "This is called a drink, it's like liquid food to keep one hydrated, pouring himself and Yurim a glass he quickly drank his own as he continued to explain" It's made with another kind of fruit called grapes, and it makes humans and even elves ditsy, although it probably won't even you/" He eyed the angel as he poured another glass, whoever owned this place before sure had good taste according to the prince. After about 20 minutes of that the young one was already sluring his words and swaying.

Yurim was fascinated! There were foods EVERYWHERE! Around the world! And he wanted to taste them all!

Then Ashton gave him something called a wine, made from a fruit called grapes. He frowned. Why don't they just call it liquid grapes then? He thought to himself, cringing a little when the color resembled that of blood. "Are you sure this is not blood?" He asked, sniffing the thing. He carefully took a sip and NOTHING prepared him at the combinations of flavor that assaulted his senses. He moaned, probably the loudest one yet and wondered how could mortals make something so...so...intoxicating. Yurim looked at his leftover orange and at his glass of wine, thinking about it, he dropped the piece in the wine and twirled it experimentally, Ashton watching him intently. He took a sip and spat it back out. It was terrible! "You never told me about bad food!" He complained, Ashton's laughter ringing in the background.

It had taken sometime, but the two continued to drink and Yurim noticed that Ashton's cheeks were now flushed a deep red and he was swaying a bit. Yurim stood in front of him and put a hand on the elf's forehead, remembering something about germs that Ashton told him earlier. He had high temperature! "Ashton," Yurim started, giving the other a worried look. "Do you have germs?"

{sorry,blasted laptop,on my kindle for another hour then heading home}

Ashto smiled as he saw the other one more freak out over simple things like fruit and whine, watching in confusion at Yurim stuck the orange in the whine. He would have warned him if h didn't already know where the out com of this would go. Laughing harder as he saw the look o absolute disgust cross the others face. "The is such a large variety because one not everyone tastes the same and two not everyone likes the same things. As you see oranges and whine don,t exactly match." As he spoke he tried to quiet his laughter,an ache wen through his body and he knew that that second, that little moment in all of time was when his kingdom fell. For he felt his fathers last breath and knew the place had been over run by neighboring enemies while it was weak. and it was at that moment that the prince truly stopped caring, reaching for the bottle and chugging it. He had pretty much downed the entire thing, feeling his ears burn hot he exploded in another bust of spontanious laughter. Feeling the hand on his head he looked up through distant eyes and nodded."Do I have germs? Yes........all humans do, so don't touch me or you will get thee too."He stumbled towards the bed, proud that he got a sentence out without slurring.

Yurim looked up, not really seeing the ceiling but the heavens above. An entire race had just been exterminated and it was entirely his fault. He sobbed, tears falling down his cheeks like rain on a stormy night as he lamented the souls that were trapped between the realms. With Eden under the brink of destruction, the souls of the dead could not pass through the Tree of Knowledge and to the Well of Souls. They were trapped between the infinite ether of the realms. Death could not be undone and life could not be given.

I, Yurim, Angel of the seventy-sixth degree, Top Archivist of the Golden City, A Secret Bearer, Warden of Eden, and Protector of The Well of Souls, lament those who pass but have not come to pass. He flew out side the cabin and settled himself just above the roof, enduring the harsh storm, he began to sing the lamentation of the Angels.

The guards ran across the palace, rushing around as horns sounded. "The royal child is to be born in a mere few hours! All rejoice! For this is a day of great magnitude!" All cheered as they closed up shops and the like, all taking off work to wait outside the palace, knowing when the baby was born it would be presented to it's people. Ashton's mother screamed as her felt the pain course through her, glaring at her husband, the king. "Don't just stand there you idiot! Do something AH!" The king for one of the few times was dumbstruck, having absolutly no clue how to help his love.

It only went on like that for a short while, for before anyone knew it a babies cry rang through the night. The king approached the balnocy and with a smile only a father would bear held Ashton up. "Rejoice! It is a boy!" Murmurs of the new prince whispered through the air. That was a night that was written down in history for the fae, however two weeks later the one happy wedded couple were now, sleep deprived and irritated parents of a very sick child. A man strode through the castle gates and was brought to the young ones room, with a smile upon his face he held up a necklace and spoke directly to the king. "This child is destined to die tragically, and it will happen now or later. However if you choose to prolong his life then he must wear this necklace at all times, it holds tremendous power. He will be bound to it, body and soul."

Ashton opened his eyes slowly, letting out a long yawn as he glanced out the window, seeing that it was still snowing but at least had let up a bit. Blinking away the blurriness and chasing away the memories that plegged his mind, he remembered about a year ago, his mother had told him he was going to get sick very soon and would not be at his next birthday. Time was quickly approaching him and he hualed himself from the bed, stopping and craining his head as he hear a sweet soft sound fill the air. Walking towards the window and realizing the nose must be coming from up, he climbed up slowly and clumsily and found the other, sitting alone with such a sad look on his face. Walking over he reached for Yurim's shoulder lightly "Hey..is everything alright?"

The-White-City-1.jpg

Angels were once like humans are now. They aged, they died, they grew. In the beginning they were the only fleeting race between the three. But when the humans gave up, they gained immortality.

Yurim was running through the corridors of the archives of the Golden City, his tiny feet echoing through the emptiness of the hall. Today was the day! Today was the day! Today was the day he was gonna get his first angelic status. He laughed as he turned a corner and promptly bumped into someone else. "Oww," He complained as he staggered to regain his balance. He looked down and saw that the boy in front of him had fallen on his rear. "Sorry," He apologized, extending his hand to help the other up. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fwine," The other replied as Yurim laughed.

"I'm Yurim, what's your name?"

"Michael..." The boy sniffed, looking at Yurim with big overly bright eyes.

"What's wrong?" Yurim asked as he inspected the other kid. "Are you lost?"

"Nwo.." Was the other's response. "The grifwon bit me.."

Yurim looked at the other in silent curiosity. "Why'd you go in their cages?" He asked taking Michael's hand in him and concentrated on what his teacher had told him. "I can heal it," He said by way of explanation. Then a clock chimed in the distance. "Oh no! I'm late!" He exclaimed as he finished healing the other. "I'll see you around Michael!" The overly energetic kid shouted as he thundered through the hallways, Michael watching him the entire time.

"Hey..is everything alright?"

It took a few moments for Yurim to finish his lament before he responded to Ashton's question.

"I'm so sorry.." He murmured in defeat, using one of his wings to block most of the wind from freezing Ashton. He looked up and contemplated the heavens. At least he was starting to understand what the Elf had told him before they left the city. Yurim still did not understand the whole idea of it but he was making progress in understanding even a little bit of it.

AShton watched the other seemingly return to reality, thankful for the protection against the storm he stood close to Yurim. "Your new to earth, do you make promises in heaven? I doubt you need to though, since you all can't lie you probably do something when you say your going to do it?" He turned slightly and held up his hand, reaching for the others and wrapping his finger around Yurim's, looking up at him and giving a reasuring smile. "I am going to make you a deal, I promise to stay with you until we find every single peice of that book, if you promise to be open with me. Alright? So if I say don't touch something, don't touch it, your new here and ....it would be a pain if you got hurt." He finished and looked away, not wanting to sound to nice to the angel just yet.

Yurim smiled, if only for a little while. The prince was more clever than he let on, but that still did nothing to his naivety.

"We do," He started. "But only when it's really necessary. Like if we can't make it immediately or if what the other is asking involved eons." He sighed. "We do not lie and we mean every word we say." He smile as Ashton took his hand. "To be open to someone else, other than him." He looked at the elf's reassuring smile and decided to take a chance. "I will try my very best." He stated silently, squeezing Ashton's hand in return.

Maybe, just maybe. He thought to himself. We'll get out of this alive and I know what I have to do when the time is at hand.. He smiled and it was sorrowful. For all of them, I am willing.
