"eh- Aye, Sire." Picking the Prince up, Takehiko held him in his arms bridal style being that it was the easiest way to carry someone. The Knight began into the inner chambers of the castle, a little lost. "Sire, You must tell me how to get to your room... I'm afraid I have no idea of how to get anywhere around this castle..." The knight looked to the Prince in his arms and inquired the location of his living quarters. Taking the Prince to his room was the least he could do, after all he denied the Prince of an outstanding offer.

The king watched them go and slowly sat back down a bit happy the man said no... but what was he playing at? This was a great opportunity...

Taki pointed, "down the hall, take your first right and it's the third room on the left." Once they reached his room he sighed softly glad he left a couple candles lit so they wouldn't stumble in the dark. Even thought he half moon was shinning through the window it was still rather dark in the castle. He wasn't quite sure how to feel about the denial but it made him want this man more.

Walking into the room the few candles lit were just enough for the knight to see, and the Moon gave a little more light. Takehiko walked over to the Prince's bed and set him down on it," Sire, do you need help changing into your sleeping clothing?" The knight knew the Prince was younger than him, and this dangled in his mind, but he wasn't sure why. "Never mind it your Majesty-" The knight pulled the bedding over the prince and smiled. "Good night your Majesty." He started for the door.

Taki groaned softly as he shifted onto his side, "what... why did you deny me? I could give you everything..." He still understood little of how the world worked. His father dangled barely any responsibilities in front of him so his view on the world was warped. Never seen war, never known hunger or pain he didn't know what other people felt. That was why he wanted a man with such experience. His blond hair was messy around his face and his cheeks flushed as he sunk more against his bed.

"Sire... You may not know what it's like to work for something and achieve it, but I do. To be honest, I would rather try to achieve my goals and fail, than be handed a short cut and be spoiled. My point is Sire, You appreciate what your work for more then you appreciate what you are given... Sire, I hope you're understanding this..." The Knight turned to face the Prince. "Sire, If I may... Why did you ask me to be your personal knight...?"

Taki heard some of what he said as he started drifting asleep. His eyes were blinking more and closing more as he listened. He was mostly asleep when the other asked him why.

"Your... really... amazing.... at everything..." Taki's voice became quieter as he spoke. He trusted too easily as well. Leaving himself completely unguarded like that. His innocent body left completely in the open.

The knight smiled and sighed, he couldn't just leave the prince here with no one guarding his room. The knight took a chair from in the room and pulled it close to the door, watching over the Prince until morning.

The sun arose from the east, the light shined through the window. Takehiko sat and awaited for the Prince to awake so that he may rest knowing that in his sight the Prince was safe. Takehiko whistled softly a folky tune as he leaned his head against the wall, doing all he could not to fall asleep until the slumbering Prince awoke.

The rprice awoke not to long after the sun came up since he fell asleep so early in the evening. He yawned and sat up stretching and blinked trying to wake up. He was tired but he was used to drinking so no hangover for him. Then his eyes focused on a body in the room and he was up and pointing a sword at him in moment, "who... oh... Sir Takehiko... why are you in my room?"

He blushed a little wondering how long he had been in there, when did he make it into his room last night? He remembered dancing with the other but didn't remember the offer he made or their conversation afterwards.

The knight opened his eyes to look at the Prince, he then smiled. "Sorry to startle you, your Majesty. I was worried with everyone down stairs that you wouldn't be safe. I stayed up through the night to ensure your safety. Yea, you are awake now, so I will be on my way. Fair well, Sire..." The knight stood and bowed. He was exhausted and he knew that the Prince would have no recollection of the night before.

Taki blinked very confused as the other man left. He watched him the whole night? What was this guy trying to pull?! The blond made a face then sighed and walked over grabbing an apple off his table in his room and chomped on it. Walking over the the window he looked out as the knights were setting up for the events laster in the afternoon. What was that guy thinking with the tournament going on?... Didn't he need his strength?

Takehiko knew he had only a few hours that he could rest before the tournament started. Making a beeline to his tent the knight plopped down on the bedding and instructed his squires to awake him before the tournament.

After being awaken by his squires, Takehiko stretched, wanting more sleep. He rose from his bed and put on the leather padding that laid under the armor he'd wear. Putting his armor on he splashed his face with water to wake himself up farther.

Takehiko now rode his horse to the tournament stadium moments before they would announce who was to be fighting whom and when.

The king stood before the men, "today we're holding a tournament of skill with a blade. Your choice of sword and shield or one handed weapon. However you feel you'll fight best. One on one battle, killing is prohibited. Please try to keep from injuring you opponent too harshly. We shall begin shortly. The announcer will inform you of when you are to go. This will narrow down to the last set of men. Those will be the newest addition of Avelon Knights. Good luck."

Taki walked into the stadium wearing his armor and a helmet. He pretended to be of another house. He wanted to fight and see how strong these men really were. He was the top knight here. None of his knights could currently beat him at hand to hand. Another noble had stepped down because of an injury so he took his spot and kept his helmet on. No one would know until the end when he pulled the helmet off and showed his father he wasn't weak.

Takehiko was up next, he grabbed his blade and no shield. To him shields were just added weight. Stepping into the ring he looked to size of his opponent the height seeming almost familiar. The knight stood at the ready, awaiting the announcer's call saying that the match has begun.

The match ended after four times that a person had been pushed into a wall or fallen to ground due to being striked.

A point reward for each time either person was hit with a blade.

Takehiko was confident in his sword, after all, he said himself he had been in a few wars.

The announcer shouted the match's beginning. Takehiko moved to strike, first strike low then twirling upward to give a strike across the helm. Takehiko was ferocious with the sword. Bringing the sword up and above him with the moment, he dropped it- full force on top of his opponent's head, bring him to the ground. The first rounds was over with three points to Takehiko. He had no style and one weakness- but what was it...? Determination.

Taki panted inside his helm, not one to give up so easily. They were the last ones left to compete. He felt proud to have man it to the final round and as he waited for the next round to begin he debated on showing his face now.

The people he had been up against he had taken out in moments. The blond felt his heart pounding and an excitement he hadn't felt in a very long time. This was thrilling to him once again. So far no one could match him at his blade. He started out with a smaller shield just to see where this mans strength stood. Indeed he was strong by force but Taki used his smaller size to his advantage. It made him very quick.

Then he realized, this man... he couldn't defeat. He was too good but something else... Being too perfect now can lead to failure later. Ego can destroy a person.

Taki stepped back into the ring only his sword this time. He was going to allow this man to knock off his helm and let the whole place see who made it to the finals. The blond took a side step as the next round began and slide his sword against the others as it want up and caught his helm flinging it from his head.

He stood and smiled over at Takehiko, "not bad."

The king stood, "stop the match this instant!"

Takehiko froze as he look over his Prince- He then smirked at his royal opponent. He dropped his sword and turned towards the king kneeling on one knee in obedience. He knew at this point that he had won the second tournament- officially or unofficially- It made not matter to him.

The knight held his head down awaiting for his orders.

The king looked towards the knight, "Be it knighthood or glory if you seek it you shall find it here. You are awarded the title as head of the knight of Avelon. Meaning you stand beside my son from here on out." The crowd applauded.

"Those who were the top ten are to meet in the main chambers," The king glared at his son then turned to head to the main chambers.

Taki stepped forward, "looks like you become my watchman. Along with helping me run the knights."

Takehiko stood," And last night you wanted to just give me the title- earning was so much grander..." Looking to his Prince he smiled," After all, because I refused your demand we got to fight in this ring. It is nice to know that our future king can fight." Takehiko smiled and ruffled the younger's hair. "And now I can do this!" He chuckle and smiled. Stopping and clearing his throat, the knight spoke once again. "Sire, what should I call you by? Majesty or Prince? Or some other title you may have in mind?" The silver hair of the older in age shimmered against the sun's glare.

Taki blushed and frowned at him about his frist comment. He asked him last night?... This man was far too charming... and that sentence felt familiar. The blond fixed his matted hair and looked up at him. He was very handsome, and he hadn't thought that of a man before, "Either Taki or Sire. Is usually what I'm called."

He started towards the castle to bathe and change for the ceremony.

Takehiko followed his Prince wondering about beside him. "Just wait to my family hears... They'll be so happy..." The knight smiled to himself then watched the ground. "Prince Taki..." The knight turned to the prince. "Since we're to be spending much time together would you like to share things about each other so that we may get to know one another better?"

The idea was quite understandable, but very commoner like of the knight. Turning his head away the knight changed his mind. "Never mind it, Sire. I was speaking out of my place..."

Taki was surprised at how excited the other was. Asking all those questions he didn't know what to say. He felt his heart beating fast then turned to him his face blushing a little, "n-no it's alright I'm just not used to it. I want you to be yourself around me."

The blond smiled and walked into his chambers after asking his servant to draw him a bath. He started removing his armor, "I don't know what to share about myself..." He glanced over at him as he set his armor on the table.

Leaning against the wall the knight though to himself. "Okay... Then I'll help you. What's your favorite dessert? Or your Favorite Legend? Or Your Favorite thing about being who you are?... Anything like that." The Knight turned his head to the Prince and awaited for an answer. It was obvious that the knight showed not attraction to the prince, after all, he was a men among men and such things would render his name utterly dishonored. Not only- but he didn't like men in such a way... Yet.

Taki stepped behind the screen and into the tub that was filled and washing himself, "well dessert... I'd have to say Millie's apple pie. She's a wonderful cook. Legend... all of them. These stories intrigue me."

He smiled and rinsed his hair off then started on his body, "being who I am... I'm not sure I'll be what my father expects of me." He stepped out of the bath after a moment and started drying himself off and came out from behind the screen with the towel around his waist. "He's never pleased with me..."

The knight smiled at the prince," I'm sure deep down he is, maybe he just doesn't know how to tell you." The knight's smiled faded," I've never really had a dessert... So I can't say my favorite of it... But, I've always wanted to try strawberries and cake..." The knight continued," My favorite legend is of Beowulf... And... My favorite thing about being who I am is... My sword." The knight unhitched his sword and held it so that he could look at it. " A princess of Wales gave it to me when I saved her and brought her back to her kingdom. She ask me take the same title for her as I now hold here, but, I refused. It wasn't my kingdom to work under. So intern she gave me this sword. Her people believed that any knight who possessed it would have the power of God on their side if their heart was right..." The Knight chuckled. "Looks a little gaudy and flamboyant, but, I keep it close to my heart. It's such a important treasure to the Kingdom of Wales and... they just gave it to me..."

Taki perked at the dessert comment. He would need to fix that. The blond walked over to him and touched the sword with his fingers as he inspected it. So this was how he beat him.

"This is a fine sword," the blond looked up at the other man his damp blond hair hanging around his eyes. He turned away and started getting dressed in his ceremonial robes. "After the ceremony please follow me back here for wine and dessert then." He turned to him smiling softly.

The knight latched the sword back onto his belt," Okay- Wait- Sire... Dessert?" The knight blushed excited a smile rising to his cheeks. "As you wish sire..." The Knight bowed and awaited outside the room.

Takehiko then escorted the Prince to the ceremonial hall. The knight wasn't to sure as to what was going on, but he'd just follow the Prince's lead.

The Prince was dress finely and the Knight smiled. Though he wasn't the one whom had dressed him he felt responsible for the Prince arriving safely and properly. Takehiko stood guard by the Prince, not once leaving his side.
