akiravadel
Chase smirked at the spending his energy in a good way line. He cleared his throat which was a little sore from moaning and screaming. Sighing softly he felt the other rest his head on his lap and closed his eyes. A free hand came down and ran his fingers through the other hair. He then twitched as his pride kicked in, "I can walk just fine thank you." Pushing his upper half up when when he noticed he might have trouble. His arms shook a bit as he struggled up sit upright. Once he was sitting he was okay for a moment but the battle was just beginning. Shifting to the edge he placed his feet on the floor and felt a blush spread over his cheeks. He couldn't stand... The cobalt haired man opened his mouth to speak but only an irritated sighed came out. Taking a deep breath he tried to push himself onto his feet but they immediately gave out and he sat back down, "alright... I need help walking..." 707
"I can walk just fine thank you." Zero watched in silent amusement as Chase stood..well, tried to stand before failing miserably. The blue-head clearly had his pride kicking in, saying that he didn't need any help and he could understand his hesitation. Zero stopped himself from laughing as Chase fell to sit on the bed, his legs seemingly saying the opposite of what his lips had just vocalized, just a few seconds before. "alright... I need help walking..." Zero grinned, raising one eyebrow that clearly stated; You should have just asked in the first place. He dared not vocalize those words though, lest any bodily harm might befall upon him. He reached out, hooked one arm under Chase's legs and used the other to support his shoulders as he carried the blue-head, bridal style. "Don't complain." He started before the other could say anything or even do something. "This is the fastest way for us to reach the bathroom." And what he said was true. When they both entered the bathroom, Zero noticed the area was filled with steam, thick enough to be seen but not too thick to block his sight. He dropped the blue-head on the prepared bath and smiled lightly as Chase sighed in evident content. Zero moved behind him and settled the blue-head in between his spread legs before snaking out his arms and pulling Chase flush to his chest. "Good?" He asked lightly before depositing a tentative kiss on the other's nape.
akiravadel
Chase made a face as he realized how he was about to be carried. He look irritated but didn't say anything. Damn man pride and being bruised... The cobalt haired man felt the warm water wrap around his body and it felt sooo good on his sore muscles. He sunk back against Zero and moaned softly, "yeah it's nice." Ignoring that he was just carried here he welcomed the comforting embrace and rested one of his hands on top of the other mans wrapped around him. He felt... safe and warm which never happened. For once he felt like he could actually relax instead of forcing sleep and trying to cope with life. Closing his eyes he rested his head back on the red head's shoulder. 707
"Sir!" Came the loud exclamation of a man, probably from the control room. "We have found a possible match of the target!" I looked up and noticed that the man was out of breath and even though I already knew what he was about to say, I let him finish it. There was nothing that happened in this facility that I did not know and everything that happened inside this compound, only I know their extent. Not even my most trusted subordinates knew what my plans were. "Bring one of the Shadows here." Was my calm reply and it was evident that the man clearly disliked my order, but he said nothing about it when he left. I did not have to wait for long, a couple of minutes and a few seconds, to be precise. One of my - Group Deis' top assassins, The Shadow, entered my office and gave me a polite nod. This man was the most tranquil between the three of them, doing his work with evident ease and palpable indifference. No wonder the other two respected him..well, besides me. "Make sure that it is him." I stated silently and I knew that he knew the words behind my sentence. "If it is him, bring him here alive and unspoiled." He nodded and left without a word. If everything goes according to plan, I - Group Deis would change the world. ~o~o~ Zero checked the oven for the umpteenth time that evening. He was planning on making a special night for him and Chase, since no opportunity that presented itself for them to be intimate again. It had been nine days since the first time that they had done it and Zero could not still believe that they really did it and when he thought back about it, the entire event seemed like a dream. A very pleasant dream, but he knew better. And he wanted a repeat. Opportunity had presented itself many times but they had been busy on the things that Chase needed, and nothing had happened except for a few kisses here and there. Tonight was gonna be different though, if Zero had anything to say about it. He was making an apple pie because that was the only oven made food that he could do, while Chase had gone out to buy something, what exactly; Zero had no idea. He looked back at his watch and gave a slight smile as he noticed the brass colored bracelet on his wrist. He had given the same to Chase just a few days ago and he still couldn't help but feel that there was more to the gift than he could think of. It wasn't like it was a very meaningful present, but still, he could not help himself from thinking that it was. He smiled and wondered were his relationship with the blue-head was heading. akiravadel
Over the last several days Chase had become happier and lighter in a way. He felt like the world wasn't resting on his shoulders anymore and that things were going to turn around. He had been doing some research on finding I-Group Deis. After finding very little he decided to expand his search a bit. Searching through government files online. He knew a little bit about hacking but not enough to find much. Taking a break from his efforts he decided to pick up a movie for both him and Zero to enjoy. When he heard Zero hadn't seen his favorite film the Princess Bride he had to buy it. The cobalt haired man was actually black haired at the moment and wearing contacts. His clothes were form fitting but he had a large jacket on because it was chilly. Making his way through the crowd his hands were in his pockets where the bracelet was attached to his wrist. He picked up the film and was making his way back, unaware of the danger he was in since his powers were cut off.
707
I looked at the vessel in front of me and couldn't help but smile at the way it has turned out. It was groing strong and the monitors that kept it alive for now, showed remarkable readings. The doctor in charge of it had really proved his worth, not that I would be placing him in my - Group Deis' inner circle, but still he had done a great job. I looked at it once more and had to suppress a laugh. Only one more is needed and it would be perfect. And Zero would have served his purpose, but he will stay and become a teacher. ~o~o~ Zero looked at his watch and had to frown. Chase had been gone for more than three hours and the pie had been done for quite sometime. He stood, made up his mind and grabbed his nearby jacket as he left their room. It might not be anything but he had a bad feeling that Chase might have been found, worse still he might have already been taken into the laboratories. He had been there and everything inside could make a man have nightmares for the rest of his life. And from time to time, Zero still did have those nightmares. Zero exited the compound and looked around before opening his phone and clicking a few buttons. He had placed a tracking device in Chase's wig as a failsafe, should something happen while he was out. He nodded to himself as the map of the entire city appeared and red glaring dot appeared, signaling that Chase was walking or rather, in a car and going the opposite direction of their apartment. Zero frowned and started his bike, intent on following where the dot took him.
akiravadel
Chase was turning a corner when someone bumped into him and he felt like a bee stung his neck, "Ow! What the hell?" He looked back but there was just groups of people walking around. Then his head began to spin as he stumbled and felt someone grab his arm. He was then pulled into a black car that quickly drove down the street. Weakly Chase tried to push the hands away of the other man who buckled his wrists in hand cuffs making the bracelet clink against it. His head felt even to heavy to lift at this point and his mind was blank. He felt someone touch his head and then a cool breeze as his wig was removed. Blinking a couple times he hadn't realized someone removed his contacts revealing who he really was. The man who took Chase sat up as another one drove them to the building that would begin Chase's new life. Pulling the cobalt haired man from the car, two of the men had to help him inside. He didn't know how long he had traveled since he kept falling in and out of consciousness. But by the time he reached a large room he started to come around again. "Where..." Chase lifted his head a little and squinted from the bright lights. Where was he? What happened?
707
They called me again for the second time this day and I looked up as 'he' came in my office. Even in his indifference, I could see that he was feeling smug. His lips kept twitching upwards and I immediately knew that he was successful. I did not voice it though. I just stood and walked to the laboratories, him trailing behind me as if expecting that I was gonna praise his work. Although his work was commendable, I had expected him to deliver the target an hour after I gave his mission. He was late for seven hours and that is unacceptable. I opened the door and as I have expected, the room had been cleaned of the various trash that people called corpses. They were all failed experiments anyways, not really very interesting when I first saw them and the scattered body parts and organs had seemed mundane. Why can't these doctors ever be clean when they did their job? I sighed and headed to the back door. The guy, Riley Duncan was his name, was now sedated and inside a tank, like the one that Zero had been to. I looked at him and saw nothing special. It didn't seem logical, but still it made me think. I looked at the now familiar doctor and nodded my head when he gave a questioning raise of his brow. They turned a few knobs, pushed some buttons before the blue-head in the tube gave a soundless scream. We needed not just his DNA but also some of the essence of his power, that way it would meld perfectly and after that, the world would change. ~o~o~ Zero stopped his bike, the suddenness of it almost causing some cars behind him to collide. There, in his GPS radar was the blinking dot of Chase, set atop the location of the Underground facility of Group Deis. He turned the accelerator, the tires of his bike screeching deafeningly against the road, before letting go of the breaks as he sped towards the compound. He was gonna burn that place to the ground! akiravadel
Chase screamed in the tank bearing pain he's never dealt with before. This was unlike anything he'd experienced. Mind swimming, body in pain, and being in a tube... this was all so scary. One of the doctors turned to the man, the man they all feared and held up the bracelet, "he was wearing this. Seemed to be holding back his power because once we removed with there was a spike in his energy." The cobalt haired panted trying to get his bearings then the pain shot through him again. The tank shuddered and warped as he pushed hard with him mind. He wanted out of there! The tank cracked in a couple spots as he started to calm a little. He was exhausted by now. Between fighting to stay conscious and the terrible pain in his body he wanted to curl up in the darkness and stop this.
707
I looked at him and noticed that he was fighting to be conscious and trying very hard to break the tank. I chuckled lightly not really caring if he got away or not. I looked at the doctor and he gave me the vial of what I needed, then the door flew open and in came none other than Zero. He looked different and maybe the rage in his eyes made it seem so, but still even though it was evident that he wanted to lash out, he just couldn't do anything. I looked at him and he at me. We stared at each other and I found myself smiling as his eyes widened in recognition. He just found out that I knew about them. Knew what he had been up to this entire time. I wasn't stupid. I know EVERYTHING that happened in this facility. I motioned my hand for him to come forward and he did so without any fight. Riley looked at Zero as I placed a tentative hand on his shoulder. Zero could not seem to look the other in the eye. Ahh, how prideful he is. He probably came here to save this little blue-head, but now that he knows that I knew about his plans, he probably didn't know what to do. I bent down and smiled. "Good work, Zero." I stated lightly, delighting even more the stiffening of the muscle under my hand. "Because of you we found him." "I didn't do anything." Was his mumbled reply and I noticed that he was clenching his hands so hard, blood started to ooze from his fingers. "Nonsense!" I laughed and still he would not look at Riley. "You lured him into your apartment, gained his trust and let him go out by himself to be taken by our assassin." I laughed harder, not on the expression of disbelief on Zero's face but at the fact that he could do nothing while I was there. "You gave us information that his power is important. You saved him from being killed for us to be able to use his abilities on our experiments." I smiled lightly. "Good thinking by the way." I could not help but be amazed at the restraint that Zero was showing. It was evident that he wanted to kill me. Was that even restraint or have he given up? I can see that he is attached to this guy, but still too weak to be able to do anything about it. I did not need him anymore. He is weak and is not deserving to be a teacher. But then maybe he could teach her something. I smiled lightly at that thought. "Come Zero," I held his shoulders and guided him out of the room after making sure that the doctors there reinforced the tank. "I want you to meet someone special." akiravadel
Chase looked out at Zero happy to see him there then everything fell apart. His world shattered. His hand came forward and touched the glass of the tank. The many tubes hooked to him flowed in the liquid as he moved. No... it can't be true! Zero wouldn't... "You lured him into your apartment, gained his trust and let him go out by himself to be taken by our assassin." Leaning forward his forehead pressed against the tank as his strength left him. No one... he could trust no one... His eyes looked towards a doctor who checked the tank and started fixing the problem. This man was causing him pain, taking things from him. His eyes narrowed as he glared at the man and didn't notice at the scientist started screaming in pain and holding his head. The whole room started to shake as beakers fell from the shelves and shattered on the floor. Another Doctor ran over and started hitting the procedure to knock Chase out. The scientist screamed louder as blood spurt from his nose and he collapsed. Suddenly the room stopped shaking and Chase floated unconscious in the tube. 707
Zero ran through the almost destroyed hallway, the unconscious Chase in his arms. The lights blinked on and off and for a moment he stopped just to get his bearings back. Most of the parts of the hallway that he was in had caved in, debris and rubble littered every space, broken live electric wires cackled on one corner as one light flickered on. THUD It was getting nearer. He needed to move fast. The shadows were welcome, but he could not use it transport himself. Chase would be left behind. THUD He ran and despite his injuries, he continued to search for an escape. ~o~37 minutes earlier~o~ Zero followed the man the he now loathed from the very core of his being. How could he have been so stupid not to realize that they were just lying to him when they told him that his apartment would need no surveillance!? He mentally kicked himself as he contemplated how to get Chase out of there as quietly and as quickly as possible. "Wait here." Was the words of the 'Boss' and Zero took his time in planning an escape route. There was one place that he could bring Chase to that even the 'Boss' would not know about. It was a place that he was certain that he only knew about. Chase would be safe there and everything that he would need, from food to super computer were there. Then he thought about a plan to lure Group Deis away from that place. He could cross the country, let the group chase him as far away as possible. They might even be able to kill him, but the important thing was that Chase would be safe. He looked up and noticed that the 'Boss' had been gone for too long and that the entire facility seemed eerily quiet. He stood and entered the door that the man had entered a few minutes earlier. The place was dark with very minimal light and the first thing that Zero saw was a shredded lab coat and in it were human bones that Zero noticed was missing some major parts. He bent before it and gasped at the familiar name in the ID. It was Jason, the man who had helped Zero from the inside. THUD Zero looked up at the sound and noticed a ten meter door was open somewhere in the distance. He could not see inside of it and it seemed that the darkness within it sucked the light around the room. He dared not use his flames to see through the shadows, the creature in that room might attack. Then he gasped as realization hit him. The door had been open since he came in. He frantically looked from side to side and felt cold dread crawl up his spine as a shadow covered his frame in darkness. He turned and fought himself not vomit at what he saw. Too many. That was the only words that he could use to describe the monstrosity before him. The thing stood at about ten feet tall, with too many sets of arms on both sides, too many sets of legs that kept it standing, and too many heads that had too many different expressions. Red mane-like hair flowed down it's back and Zero realized that there were two green eyes just where the chest would have been. Then a gaping hole opened on where it's stomach should have been and he realized that it was a mouth. "Brother." It said in a highly disfigured voice, the sound of it like nails against a blackboard. Zero jumped out of the way as it swung it's many hands. He back-flipped twice and suddenly he was sailing through the air and smashed against the wall. The thing was crazy fast even with it's enormous size. Then the heads started wailing just as Zero ran through the door, the creature hot on his heels. ~o~Present~o~ Zero found the remnants of an elevator that they mostly used to get in the facility. He cursed, wondering where they placed the emergency exits. He looked to the distance and found the destroyed remains of said stairs and for a moment, panic gripped him. He shook his head as he inspected the stairs once more. It was crumbling from various different places, but with the right angle he could jump and go through it. Hopefully the rest of it would still be intact.
akiravadel
Chase started to come around hearing thuds and feeling cold air sweep by him. What was going on? His whole body was sore and trembling still. The cobalt haired man inhaled deeply as he started to open his eyes, "Zero?..." Weakly he shoved against him, "put me down..." With a hard shove he was out of his arms on on his shaky feet. Looking around to took in all that was around him. This place was falling apart. Looking down at himself he was in pants and bloody but it wasn't just his own blood. "What the hell's going on?" Reaching up he grabbed his head. Something was wrong. His head hurt and his powers were fluctuating. He felt like he had less control than before as pulses came from him.
707
Zero ran through the hallways and turned a sharp corner, rubbles and debris flying around behind him as the creature gave chase. He had no idea how Group Deis had been able make such abomination and he did not want to think the state of the poor soul that was trapped inside that misshapen body. And he had no idea how to kill it. He frowned, clenched his right hand into a fist and proceeded to gather a concentrated amount of fiery energy in his hand. When he knew that it was powerful enough, he turned and threw the ball of crackling fire towards the creature. The resounding explosion that happened shook the very foundations of the facility and for a time, Zero had thought that it had worked. But from the cloud of dust that had gathered, the creature emerged, furious but unscathed. Not even a scratch nor a burnt mark. "Damn." He grumbled to himself, jumping sideways and rolling for a bit as too many arms almost hammered him flat. He needed to find Chase. ~o~Present~o~ Zero stumbled as Chase shoved him, slipping on a puddle of oil and impaling his left shoulder on a nearby broken steel bar. He winced as pain laced from the impaled spot, his entire left arm hanging limply by his side. He pulled his shoulder off of the offending piece of metal with a painful squelch, wincing the entire time while grinding his teeth to stop himself from crying out. THUD Zero looked around but he could not see the creature, although he was sure that it was near. He looked back at the broken stairs before wincing as the hole in his shoulder throbbed in pain. Then he made his decision. "See that stairs?" He began, a hint of desperation lacing his every word. "That's the only passable exit. Go and follow it up. I'm sure that it's not entirely destroyed." He used his good hand to reach into his pocket, withdrawing a small black box with a red button and pressing the item against Chase's palm. "Take this and when you get out, make sure that you are not seen. Hide somewhere and press the button as soon as you are sure that you are alone. Help will come." THUD "I'm gonna distract the creature." He stared at Chase's eyes and silently stated his farewell as one green eye opened in the darkness. "Go! Don't turn back! Don't look back!" Was his words as he ran into the darkness and the creature following closely behind him.
akiravadel
Chase was shocked that he was able to push the other that hard. Looking down at his hands he realized it was his power. His body twitched and blood started coming from his ears. That pressure burst to push Zero was causing a horrible pressure in himself... Why was this happening?! Why was Zero even here?! Holding onto the box he looked towards the stairs then back at Zero. There was a moment. Nothing moved, no one breathed, it was as if time stopped. He had given his heart to another for the first time and had it ripped apart. Maybe Zero did care after all? Maybe... Watching him run away in the darkness he had to force himself to turn around and run up the stairs as best he could. He felt weak and scared. His heart racing and body trembling he could hear the loud alarms ringing in his ears. Falling to the floor he groaned in pain, what did he trip over? Looking back over his shoulder he saw a dead man nearly crushed on the floor. Panicking he shoved himself up and ran down the hall stumbling as he went. Blood dripped from his nose as he ran. His fear was causing the pressure inside himself to skyrocket. He felt like his blood vessels in his body were going to burst. A door! His hands grabbed the handle and shoved it open. Outside... He could see people running and driving away but he couldn't go to them. Turning he headed into the woods now hearing the fading sounds of the alarm. Where the hell was he? After several hundred feet he lost his strength and fell to his hands and knees. Crawling forward he couldn't ignore the taste of blood in his mouth. HACK! Blood splattered on the ground below him before he slumped onto the ground. So he was to escape only to have his power kill himself... Weakly he moved his hand a little and pressed the button since he didn't have the strength to lift it. Laying there he could hear the faint sounds of the men screaming and cars driving off. Then the alarm started to fade... Everything was going black and all he could hear was his own breathing. He felt oddly cold and very heavy. Then for a moment he felt a twinge in his chest, "mommy..."
707
Zero's wound was making him sluggish or maybe that was the amount of blood that he had lost. He leaned against a nearby wall and tried to get his breath back. He needed to stop his vision from swimming in and out of focus. He shook his head as bright spots danced around his eyes. "Tch." He exhaled to himself. "Too weak to even use my power." THUD He groaned, shoved himself off the wall and started to run despite the protest of his injuries. Chase would probably be outside now and assuming that he had pressed the button already, it would take about an hour or so for him to reach safety. Zero breathed in and determination sparked in his eyes. Just a bit longer. ~o~o~ BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP Rowan woke up with a start and had to curse when he fell off his bed with a thud. He blearily looked around for his glasses, knocking bottles of beer and wine in the process. He found his glasses on top of his coffee table, just beside his ashtray before he cursed. His alarm just wouldn't stop ringing! He looked at the offending piece of technology and found to his astonishment that it was not the clock that was ringing. It took a moment as realization hit him. The ringing was coming from Zero's signal. It was Zero's signal! Something was wrong! "DAMN!" He cursed, jumping over scattered clothes in his haste to get to his garage. Rowan ran down the stairs, jumping some flights and dashing towards the door to his garage. He flipped the switch on and the roof opened, the moon illuminating his prized helicopter. He entered it, pushed some buttons and the radar appeared. And there, in the green background was the glaring red dot that signaled Zero's location. Or so he thought. "Don't you die on me you, twerp!" He scowled as the sound of his heart thundered in his ears.
akiravadel
Chase kept forcing himself to breath, breathing meant he was still alive. Everything hurt. Everything felt broken. How could he even know for sure he could depend on this thing Zero gave him? Could be another trap... was that even a trap before? Their time together felt so real, why would Zero do that? He saw people like that in movies but he couldn't believe it could happen in real life, but it seems he was wrong. Taking a shaky breath he noticed his power had stopped pulsing. Probably because he calmed down. From all the stress and fear might be why... His thoughts were scattered, as if he was trying to go over everything before... Chase's breath hitched as his eyes stung. He didn't want to die. He didn't even wish death on Zero. Where was he? Golden eyes opened and tried to look around. Why wasn't he here? He was always with him. It was then he saw a light above him and felt the wind ruffling his hair. This was it... closed his eyes he accepted his death not realizing what it actually was. 707
Rowan stared at the boy in front of him. This was not Zero. This guy had blue hair! This guy was not Zero! Then he looked closer and noticed that he was holding the signal button that he himself had given the redhaired twerp. He grumbled to himself and grabbed the boy. He would ask Zero's whereabouts when he woke up. Rowan started the helicopter and still had to wonder why the nearby building had collapsed. The blue-haired boy might have an idea what happened. But he would heal him first when they got back. ~o~o~ Two One Zero breathed a sigh of relief as one full hour had passed. It would mean that Chase is now in good hands. He stopped in his tracks and panted for breath. Now he could stop and rest. THUD He sat and stared into the darkness. THUD He closed his eyes as too many hands shot out and grabbed him. akiravadel
Chase didn't know how long he was out but when he awoke he felt disoriented. The cobalt haired man shifted and groaned in pain. His hand came up to his head feeling it throb in pain from the horrible migraine he had. He could hear sounds but couldn't make out what he was hearing... it was very muffled... Opening his eyes they tried to focus and take in his surroundings. He didn't feel like death anymore so that meant someone must have healed him, "w-where am I?" His voice cracked as he spoke and rose and fell in volume. He could barely hear himself! The pressure must have injured his eardrums. Maybe in time he would heal there. 707
Rowan looked at the boy and had to wonder what was his connection with Zero. Whatever it was, this kid seemed to be very important to him. The readhead would not just give his signal, much less to anyone. The signal was created for the sole usage of Zero and nobody else and for him to part with it meant almost too impossible to think about. He had known Zero since the guy was a kid, but Zero had only known Rowan when was fifteen. He had intercepted the reaedhead when he was in one of his missions. The encounter had not been very pleasant and Zero had almost died that day as he was betrayed by his own squad when he allied himself with Rowan. And for the next eight years, he and Zero had pooled their resources to create a safe-house which was located underground and away from the city. It was located in a mountain, somewhere near Mt. Fuji. Yeah, he flew that far just because of a signal. They both had agreed that Zero needed the signal and if he ever pressed it, he would be brought in their safe-house. Only problem was, there was no Zero but only a blue-headed guy. "You're in the medical wing of Zero's safe-house." He mumbled lightly, frowning and scratching his beard. "In Japan." Rowan extended his hands as light particles outlined the blue-head's body, finishing the last parts of the healing that he had began. "There, you're all better." He let himself fall against a plush couch, beside the bed. "Now tell me. Where is Zero and what happened to you before I got you?"
akiravadel
Chase felt much better even if everything was still rather sore and he felt a bit powerless at the moment, probably from it wigging out... How long had he been unconscious? Taking in a couple breaths the cobalt haired man started to sit up and groaned softly. Pushing the pillow behind him to rest against the wall, he then leaned back against it, "Zero's safe-house? Why would he... But he betrayed me..." He shook his head feeling incredibly light headed. Looking over at his savior he stared at him for a moment before he spoke, "he's still in there. He told me how to get away after they caught me... This... I don't know what to think... He used me and got close then I was taken... he walked away..." His words were jumbled as he spoke. Sighing heavily again he reached his hand out. "If you... touch my hand I'll show you what I've seen..."
707
Rowan shook his head at the boy's jumbled, if not incomprehensible, statement before taking the blue-head's hand and closing his eyes. He saw everything. From the time Chase was captured to the moment he collapsed outside the facility. Rowan sighed, withdrew his mind and took a deep breath. "You're pretty stupid, you know that?" He stated silently, crossing his arms across his chest. "The man with Zero is also one of our kind." He dropped in a voice so hollow it was tasteless. "He is incredibly powerful. Zero knew that, that's why he said and did nothing. If he did do something, you both would have been killed." He frowned as the memory of Zero bleeding flashed through his mind. "When you came to, the facility was in ruins and Zero was bleeding." He mumbled more to himself than to anyone. "His Boss could not have done that. He is not a man who plays with his victims." Rowan stood and started pacing. "From the looks of it, Zero was worried about something. Powerful but not the Boss himself." He frowned. "But the important thing for us to consider is what happened to Zero. I have a guess and it's not good." He took a few slow steps towards a giant monitor and glared at it for all it was worth. "I've placed a tracking beacon in Zero's earring. It is integrated in his skin so as long as he is alive the beacon should work. But if I open this radar and there is no red dot blinking..." He looked back at Chase and gave him a hard look. "Zero would not have made it." Rowan took a deep breath and crossed his fingers. "Open global radar system." "Opening." Was the melodic reply of the house AI. Then the monitor blinked and spotless green global map appeared on the screen. No blinking red dot.
akiravadel
If there was one thing Chase hated it was being called stupid. He never met anyone like himself before Zero how was he supposed to know? Watching the man talk and then begin to pace he sighed and pulled himself to the side of the bed. Zero could have said something or given him a look. The cobalt haired man didn't want to be here anymore... he wanted to hide in a corner, maybe find his brother. Looking up he wondered if he would see the red dot. After all he was running away too and well... Zero was in bad shape. Chase sighed heavily as the blame for Zero's condition then started to feel like it was pointed towards Chase. Slowly he stood and looked over at the monitor. "Zero would not have made it." Chase looked up at the screen feeling a sick feeling in his stomach but also a little hope. He hoped Zero was alright. No dot. Chase let out the air he was holding and sunk to the floor. This was it... This man who helped him escape and he thought betrayed him... Shaking his head his body pulsed stronger than it had before. His arms wrapped around his chest as tears fell down his cheeks. It was all his fault!
707
Rowan frowned as an idea hit him. It was risky, but with Chase's power they could have a chance of success. Slim but it was better than nothing. He looked down at the blue-head, placing a gentle healing hand on his head. He needed Chase to be focused. "I have an idea." He began slowly. "And this idea will only work with you. But should we fail, the consequences would be dire. Either we die or our minds would be burned out of our body." He walked towards a nearby utility refrigerator and took out a bottle of wine. "But if we succeed, we may get Zero back." He sat on a nearby table and poured two glasses full of the red liquid before motioning for Chase to join him. "It's not alcoholic." He stated snidely. Zero never drank too much alcohol, so they never stocked any. "But before you agree, or disagree for that matter, I want to know if you trust me. I also want to know what your connection to Zero is." He took a generous sip and had to frown at the sweet flavor. "Who he is to you."
akiravadel
Chase swatted his hand away, he didn't want to be touched. Taking the drink Chase stood back up and looked over at the man. Taking a deep breath he set the drink on the table next to him, "of course I don't trust you. I have trouble trusting anyone especially after all of this. I don't even entirely know if I can trust Zero..." The cobalt haired man looked down at his shaky hands, "I read him and understood his feelings but he left me there to be tortured and experimented on. Maybe it's just me but I don't care how powerful another person thinks they are... I guess because of my power it makes me a little more hot headed. I learned in that tube that I can kill a man by putting pressure in their head." Chase took a deep breath feeling his stomach turn, "I killed an innocent person while... while they tortured me... All because I was angry..." He smiled bitterly and looked up at his savior, "this isn't what I wanted... I never wanted to hurt anyone or kill... I never wanted to cause other to get hurt either. Especially a man who I thought was... I thought we were lovers... We..." He took a deep breath and stepped back from the other man wrapping his arms over his chest. "We only slept together once..."
