Still in the learning phases of taming his shadow warrior into trusting his demands 100 percent.

Over the billions of years after the earth was created as well as heaven and hell. The minions of both heaven and hell raged lengthly battles over land, dislike and hate for each other. The devil, himself, created a long line of tailmens crafters and spell mages to enhance normal weapons into powerful weapons enhanced with a soul-bound shadow creature to help the fighters on the demon side. While the angels had holy magic and elementials as their soul-bound weapon creatures. Now to today, 21st century. The battles of the ages have stopped. The blood shed has stopped. Human beings rule the earth with their techology. There is no use for demons and angels to fight. They have their rightful places in heaven and hell. But this has not stopped the angels on earth nor the demon warriors from forecating offspring.

 

An errand boy known to the hell warriors travels with his kinship through a thick bamboo forest in southern China. Their journey has just begun. Yuma, a head band wearing beginnger classed hell warrior was heavied down by sleeping sacks and watering jugs. Sweat was on his brow as some caring neko demons lightened his load. He gave them their needed thanks and walked along side the able bodied neko tribe elder into their protected camp. It was foreseen their arrival would be coming. So the neko demons were waiting in the forest for them. The elder showed them to a large hut built for them. The demons helped Yuma set his fellow warriors' belongings down and formed a square in the hut of their sleeping sacks. The leader excused them to wonder the camp ground.

 

Yuma found his feet leading him to a practice ground, besides a lake, for fighters that were coming of age to be mates to hell warriors. He took a drink from his drinking jug as he roamed the outsides of the practice ring. He heard loud cursing coming from a snow white neko male as he was practicing. He kept his distance. He walked over to the teacher and asked him he could do minor jobs for minor wages. He got his offer, accepted. He began carrying out practice dummies and dull weapons outside the center of the practice area. He sure got a work out. He got paid in bronze coins, which he put in a sack with a draw string. He shoved it into a hidden breast pocket in his vest. He pulled off his leather boots and socks. Then he rolled up his pant legs and let his toes and sore feet dive into the water of the lake. He sat there watching the snow white neko practice.

The snow white neko picked up an arrow off the ground his light long hair swayed with his movements along with his flowing white fighting kimono. He then stood up straight and got into position, he pulled the string back close to his face and aimed for the practice dummies heart. He left go along with a breath he didn't know he was holding and this time his arrow it its target. His ears perked up and his tail twitched.

 

"I hit it! I did it!" His soft warm voice said loudly, he heard a chuckle and turned his head, he saw one of the village elder's smiling at him and lifted his hand up shooing him to continue. He laughed at the pout he got but soon a smile replaced it and he turned back around and picked up another arrow up, getting in position again and aiming once more at the dummy. He let the arrow slide through his fingers, it was a quick shot. He hit the same spot from before, splitting the arrow in half.

 

The elder placed his hands behind his back watching Shori practice. So far the young male was more likely to be mated off very soon, due to his beauty and skills with the bow. He was also very talented with a sword as well. "Shori!" The young neko dropped the arrow he was about to pick up and stood up straight turning around causing his hair to move with his body. "Y-Yes Elder? Did I do something wrong?" He asked, worry laced his voice.

 

When he saw the Elder shake his head no he let out a sigh of relief. "No... No.. You did nothing wrong... It's just... You need to practice your sword wielding skills now... After all... You will be mated off soon..." Shori's eyes widened when he heard those words, he opened his mouth about to say something until something clanked at his feet causing him to look down blinking. He placed his bow down gently and picked up the short metal sword sheath up and took the sword out slowly looking it over before he dropped the sheath and turned around towards the dummies.

 

He got in a fighting stance and charged at them with grace and speed. He slashed violently at one of the dummies and pulled his sword back and dashed forwards ending up behind the dummy stand his sword arm was held out same went for his other arm. Just the the dummy fell to the ground in shreds, the stuffing was in the shredded heap on the ground. He took in a deep breath and stood up slowly and gracefully.

Yuma stood, stepping on the course dirt ground of the inner practice area with wet and bare feet. He clapped and had a proud smile on his face as he walked over to Shori. He dodged incoming arrows with the slight bending of his body as he traveled in front of the target areas. During Shori's practice, Yuma's amber eyes did not stray away from the show the snow white neko did. "I'll take you. You are very good with the bow. I wonder if your good with large mammels, such as horses? You won't spook my poor timid Alice, would you?" Yuma picked up two dull wood swords. He tossed one into the snow white neko's direction. "Let's spar! Show me what you got some more! I want to feel your power shake my bones!" He challenged his soon to be mate.

Shori felt his tail and ears twitch when he heard the challenge which caused him to purr slightly before he picked up his wooden sword up off the ground. "Hm... As you wish..." He spoke lightly before he bowed lowly and charged at the male with speed and grace. He tried landing a hit on him but only ended up hitting the ground where the guy once stood.

 

He growled lowly and swung at him again but he was blocked, he was giving it his all. His silver eyes narrowed slightly as he looked into amber colored eyes. He knew... He knew without thinking to much about it that this man would become his mate. He tried pushing him back with his wooden sword but could not, the man was to strong.

Yuma swung his wooden sword and landed right against Shori's rib cage then again, this time landing on the shoulder. He sent the other stumbling backwards then onto his butt. "Oh gosh! I'm so sorry! Are you okay?" The force with the last blow was strong and with the thick wood; it made it hurt worse. He dropped his weapon and closed the distance between them. He offered a hand to the younger demon and pulled him from the ground. "I thought I might have hit something important. Your still alive?" He released a sigh of relief. He let the neko demon go only after peaking underneth the shoulder fabric of the other's kimono. He touched the spot with his finger tips, feeling the other pull away from it. "It might bruise. It being senitive after a blow like that, no doubt it would be like that. Just be lucky, kid, it wasn't a real weapon or you would be dead with a headless body." He smiled a bit too heart felt then bowed. "Thanks for the practice, kid. See ya." He returned to the side of the lake and pulled and tied his boots back on. His heart was pounding in his chest, a light sweat on his brows, and the sudden warmth that was leaving; from his necklace tailsman gave off in the other's company. The light he radiated was dimming the further apart from the snow white neko he became. On his way back to the hell warrior's shared tent, he was ushered to another one made for two. He was pushed inside. He helped himself to the meal that was set up inside. He drank water instead of the booze that was offered. His head was curious due to the elder's actions. Soon his company joined him. Shori was shoved into the tent and soon the tent's opening closed tight, dimming the light in the tent. "Oh hello again." Almost right away, his tailman began glowing a shade of amber then white then back to amber. The closer Shori got, the quicker it changed colors. It was flashing by the time Shori sat besides him and began eatting. "So why are we in here together?" He asked as he stopped the other from eatting.

Shori had be demanded to change his fighting kimono into a tight form fitting one that flowed nicely. He was about to ask why but before he could the next thing he knew was that he was being changed and shoved inside a tent with the man from earlier. He sighed as he stopped eating and looked at him with his soft silver colored eyes. "Well... Before I was shoved in here the Elder told me that... You were suppose to be my mate..." He spoke softly his fingers playing with the fabric of his light pink off the shoulder's kimono.

 

"He also said that its a custom that... Whoever brings up a challenge is like saying I want your hand... And..." He blushed lightly, his ears bent back while his tail twitched. "And you have to mark me..." As he said that he looked down having his hair cover up his face. His tail twitched even more while his ears pressed themselves against his head.

Yuma thought for a moment as his hand reached up to grab his tailsman. It gave off a dull warmth. "So that's your customs? If I remember correctly, if our tailsman light up and give a mulicolored show and if it gives off warmth...that means I've found my mate. So far we have all three." Yuma moved to sit behind Shori. He sat straight legged but wrapped his arms around the other's stomach. He nuzzled his lips to the other's neck. "You mean, mark you with a hickey? I can do that." He smirked against Shori's neck.

The snow white neko's tail twitched once again, his face turning even redder at his words. Yuma set the soup aside and began digging into the plates of food. He tried at least everything once or twice.

Why were they making him do all of this stuff anyways. He took a deep breath and gave the woman a sweet smile before he walked into the his room and started to pack up his belongings.

 

The tall scarlet haired neko walked into the tent that held Yuma inside, she looked him over and smiled. "So your the one who will be taking Shori with you huh?" She asked as she sat down across from him her wide green eyes looking him over. "So... What is your rank? How do we know that you will take care of Shori? Would you stay beside him no matter what?" She started to throw questions at him right away, her eyes looking stern and serious.
