After making sure that the baron had everything he was likely to need for the night bastion returned to the kitchen . Speaking with the head butler and the guard captain he organised for an early breakfast and for the barons carraige and an escort to be availiable first thing in the morning . He also informed them that as he would be escorting the baron as his secretary then marcus would be taking over some of his duties for awhile and that they where to give him all possible help and assistance . Chatting quietly with the guard captain over a glass or two of brandy he arranged for stefan to be seconded to the household guard and also made arrangements to use him as a message bearer for when bergen had a need to speak with them . Having made sure that everything was taken care of he returned to his room after leaving instructions that he was to be woken very early . After choosing his clothes for the following day bastion washed his hands and face and retired for the night . After sleeping well he was woken early by a serving boy with a cup of coffee laced with brandy he arranged to have the barons hot water sent up while he himself washed and dressed and went to lay out the barons clothes and fill his bath before waking him up . "Dominus wake up " he called "Your bath is ready and your breakfast will be here in 30 minutes ." the baron opening his eyes sat up and smiled at him as he nodded before throwing the covers back and heading off to the bathroom to bathe .

The Baron took a quick bath then dressed in a dark purple suit and waited for the breakfast. Soon he heard a knock into the door “Come in” he answered and Marcus entered and bowed. “Oh Marcus you look better today” Baron smiled and started to eat. Marcus left the room after bowing again and Baron was ready when Bastion came to announce him that everything is ready. “Let’s go then Bastion” Baron said and they left the house. Bastion helped Baron to board into the carriage and after he did the same the carriage left the court. Baron pulled Bastion closer and kissed him “Good morning my love. Did you sleep well?” Bastion nodded before kissing Baron back. Baron broke the kiss and smiled “I miss you last night. Tonight come in my room. I want to sleep in your arms”. Bastion started to laugh and whispered something into Baron’s ear. The Baron took a serious face and then started to laugh too. Once they arrived at the library Baron started to check his list of books and Bastion helped him to find them on the tiers. Then both started to read and write information on papers.

While the baron took notes and scrawled ldeas down bastion moved back and forth to the book shelves collecting the required books and returning the ones that had been finished with .He jotted down lists of ingredients that the baron gave him as well of other books that the library did not have in stock . Hours quickly passed as the baron working steadly at his task meticously ,lost in his own world . Bastionlooking up from the book he was studying smiled to himself at how obsorbed the baron was in his task ."Dominus ,the library is about to close "he said as the nervous figure of the head librarian approached them wringing his hands and looking very apologetic. The baron looked up and after takling a few moments to focus nodded his agreement . Whilst bastion helped the librarian to return the books too their shelves the baron stretched and then collected his notes and was waiting patiently as bastion returned . On the carriage ride back to the town house bastion went through with the baron the agenda for the following day and his presentation to the king . After a light meal taken in his room the baron settled down for an early night whilst bastion put the finishing touches to the following days preparations before joining the baron in his room.

The Baron took his pyjama and waited for Bastion to come in his bed. Once his lover entered in the room Baron jumped from bed and took him in his arms. “I miss you my love” he said before starting to kiss him. He headed to his bed with Bastion on his arms and put him gently into the bed then he lay next to him. He pulled Bastion closer and sobbed “I want you so much but tomorrow we must wake up early. So I just want you in my arms when I sleep. I will rest well that way” Baron then whispered into Bastion’s ear “But tomorrow after the visit you will be mine all day” Bastion put his head on Baron chest and they fall asleep. In the morning Baron was woken by a kiss. “My Bastion” he said and wanted to pull him closer but Bastion pushed him and jumped from bed. “You will pay for this” Baron answered and went into the bath to take his quick bath. After he dressed into his new suit he waited his breakfast. Marcus arrived with his meal and Baron started to eat just before Bastion came from his room and Baron was almost to choke with his food. Bastion was so handsome in his suit that Baron wanted to jump on him. “You are so handsome in your suit my love” Baron exclaimed and gave Bastion a kiss.

"Thankyou dominus " said bastion blushing slightly he always felt good when the baron noticed when he had made a special effort . "As soon as you have finished eating we must leave we need to reach the court before the king does ."The baron nodded and quickly finished his food . They left the barons room and walked downstairs to the entrance hall where after giving a few last minute instructions to marcus the baron and bastion followed by the guard detachment left for the palace .When they arrived at the palace they were shown into the anti chamber to the throne room and told to wait and after handing over the gift the baron had brought for the king they settled down to wait . After about 2 hours the door to the throne room opened and a splendidly dressed flunky appeared and beckoned to the baron to follow him and after a final glance at bastion the baron left to be presented to the king .

The Baron expected that this visit wouldn’t take too long. Once he entered into the room where the king and other nobles were he took his hat off and bowed. The king smiled and said “Long time passed my dear Baron. I thought you will never come back.” Baron bowed again and answered “Your Majesty the science was always on my taste. I tried that my knowledge to help your majesty kingdom” The king laughed and answered “We will speak about this other time. Today it’s time to celebrate you are back” he raised the wine glass looking at the Baron. The Baron drank into king honour and soon was in a middle of a conversation with others nobles and had a great time. “My dears I decided it’s time for a ball. It will be in 10 days” the king yelled. “And our dear Baron prepares for dance. The young ladies are so beautiful lately” he added and left the room. Baron and the others bowed and they continued to speak. When he was sure nobody will observe his missing he left too. “The king it’s as usually, just a little fat” he thought as he headed to his carriage followed by Bastion.

Bastion waiting patiently in the ante-room for the baron spent his time chatting with the personal servants of other lords that he knew ,catching up with old friends and being introduced to new. He found out that whilst philip was not incourt at the moment he was a regular attender and was still very popular with the ladies other than his wife .Making a few mental notes which he stored away at the back of his mind for future reference he carried on with the small talk and chit chat and gossip whilst awaiting the barons return .After skillfully avoiding and dodging some of the more impudent and searching questions about the barons abscence he replied with half truths and generalized platitudes leading them to believe that the baron had been working hard on his research and getting over the loss of his parents .It was with a feeling of immense gratitude that he saw the baron enter the room and look round for him, moving swiftly to his side bastion bowed very deeply and then escorted the baron from the ante-chamber and into the waiting carriage.After settling in their seats bastion and the baron exchanged the various pieces of information they had gleaned from the day in the royal court with bastion telling the baron that he had one or two more enquiries to make before he made a final report .The journey back to the barons town house was uneventful and they eventually arrived home safe and without incident .

The Baron was happy – his meeting with the king went well and the fact he was invited at the king’s ball was the perfect opportunity for him to meet old friends and scientists who could help him with his research. Once the arrived into his room followed by Bastion, Baron changed into his pyjamas. He was a little tired and wanted to sleep for a while. Bastion had things to do and Baron knew that. “But tonight he’s mine” he thought as he lay on his bed. Bastion gave him a kiss before leaving the room and soon the Baron fall asleep. When he wake up it was already late afternoon. Someone knocked into his room door and Baron said “Enter”. Marcus bowed and replied “My Lord your friend Antoine will arrive at dinner tonight. His servitor just came to announce”. Baron laughed and thought “So he wants to know about my meeting with the king” then answered “Thank you Marcus. Prepare my bath. Please take care of everything until Bastion comes back.” Marcus bowed and left the room. Baron looked into his closet and chose a black suit and put it on his bed before he entered into his bathroom.

After seeing the baron back safely to the town house bastion escorted by the guard captain set out to meet up with bergen at one of the more run down taverns in a less salubrious part of the city . They sat in a corner of the run down tavern facing the doorway with their backs to the wall nursing two flagons of cheap rough brandy ."I wish bergen would hurry up and arrive." said the the captain "I dont mind the smell and the fleas its the crap brandy l hate ." basion chuckled and nodded his head in agreement " Dont worry next time l will take you somewhere nicer ." he said . After a few more moments the door opened and bergen walked in after collecting a drink from the bar he walked over to their table and sat down .After another glabce round the bar he grinned at them " Slumming it arnt we ." he said with a slight chuckle . "Right lets make this quick then a couple of men tried to follow you but they are worm food by the side of the road now . We have been maintaining a constant watch on the house and the baron and there has been no problems ,word has reached me that the Alexandria problem is sorted out and stillachi should be home in about 5 days l will have him join your household as the barons new pageboy so make sure there is a position availiable .Oh and as you requested bastion we have been following and checking up on the esteemed philip for you and you where right he does have a couple of mistresses one is a fairly common courtisan and of little interest but the other is the wife of the kings brother and that if it got out would sign his death warrant, its all here in my reports sir ." Smiling bastion thanked bergen and with the captain in tow left the inn and returned to the barons town house where after bathing and changeing ito more apropriate clothes he visited the barons tailor to order a new suit of clothes for the baron to wear at the kings ball pure white silk with scarlet and gold accesories and done in the new chinese style that was sweeping europe .

The Baron was reading a book when Bastion entered into his room. “Oh, you are back my love” Baron smiled and jumped from his chair to kiss his lover. Bastion answered to the kiss and the Baron took him in arms and put him slowly on the bed. Bastion put a finger on Baron’s lips and shook his head as no. Baron understood – the report first. He seated on a chair next to his bed and asked “Give it to me my love” and soon he was reading. He was happy about what was writing there. “So your angelic boy did a great job my love. You have a good taste at men” Baron laughed. “Look only at me” Baron added and stood up then turned round so Bastion could see his body. Then he lay next to Bastion and kissed him again. After he broke the kiss he remained silent for a moment before he spoke “About Phillipe. Thank you my love for finding things about that bastard. He behaves as usually, only after dresses. But I will remember him where his place was – under ME” Bastion laughed and cuddled with his lover. Baron whispered something into his ear and Bastion smiled before they share a sweet kiss.

The next few days were extremely busy for bastion as he supervised the preparations for the baron attending the kings ball.After several meetings with the barons tailor he was finally satisfied with the suit that he had prepared and arranged for it to be delivered next day for the final fitting by the tailor on the baron . He had also done the basic ground work in preparing a pages position for stillachi who was due to return iminently with his other duties and tasks the days seemed to fly by as did the nights spent in the barons arms . lt was while he was mulling over his breakfast coffee that there was a knock on the door followed by the entrance of the butler accompanied by the young stillachi . "You asked me to bring him to you as soon as he arrived sir " said the butler bowing . "Yes thankyou" replied bastion the butler bowed again and departed . Staring at the beautiful boy stood before him bastion smiled "So did you have any problems ?or did you carry out your task as efficiently as l thought you would ." Smiling and bowing excitedly stillachi laughed " No problems at all, he had a weakness for pretty young boys that proved quite fatal in the end ." he replied "See l have brought back proof of his death his personal signet ring that l cut from his hand ." "Well done my dear, I always had total faith in your skill and ability ." said bastion catching the boy in a hug and spinning him round "So are you ready for your next task hmmm ?" Stillachi pouted a little " So soon l had hoped to spend a little time here before being sent off ,l have missed you and the captain so much ." Oh dont worry you wont be going anywhere you will be acting as my eyes and ears and guarding the baron as his page ." bastion replied before starting to out line the boys new duties . Later after they had finished talking and stillachi had changed into his uniform as a member of the barons household bastion took him to meet the baron again .

The Baron was reading his correspondence – most of the letters were invitations to balls. He smiled to himself and nodded. Sooner or later it was his time to do one for Parisian aristocracy. “I must choose the balls to go after the king one and also I must prepare my own ball. Bastion will have a lot to work”. As he threw the letters on his table he heard a knock into his door. “Come in” he said loudly and Bastion followed by Stillachi entered in the room. “Welcome back” Baron said happily as the boy bowed. “I heard you did a great job and I’m happy you will work for me from now on” he added and after Stillachi bowed again Baron made a sign he was free to go. As soon as he left the room Baron jumped from his chair and kissed his lover. “He’s as cute as a girl. And in that suit he looks wonderful. Are you sure he’s a boy?” he asked smiling on Bastion. Bastion nodded and he gave one more letter to Baron. “Another one? I’m very popular since I visit the king. My love we must do a ball too. The aristocracy waits for it” Baron smiled and they started to dance a waltz. There was no need for music – their hearts sang a common song – the love one.

In the days that followed stillachis return bastion was pleased to find that some of the burden of watching over the baron was slowly lifted from his shoulders and he was able to concentrate on organising the ball that the baron wanted . As the barons town house wasnt really big enough to hold a ball of the size the baron wanted he arranged to hire a chateau in the countryside just out side paris . After he had inspected it with the captain of the guards he signed the lease for the six month period and returned to paris . On his arrivalat the barons town house he went immediately up to the barons chambers "Dominus l have news ,we will be moving for a while out to the chateau de grande romaine it is only about 20 miles from paris and has huge and beautiful gardens and is more than sutable for holding your balls in . I have made the staff aware of the situation and we will be leaving in about an hours time . Stillachi has recieved instructions that unless l am with you he is not to leave your side for any reason dominus ." With that he patiently awaited the barons reply .

The Baron was more than happy about Bastion idea “My love it’s a wonderful idea. You know I like countryside more and since it’s close to Paris we will only do few hours on road. Prepare my traveling clothes and my bath. Meanwhile I will write a letter to Antoine to announce I’m out of Paris. He will be a little sad I’m letting him alone again but he can come there to hunt with me.” Bastion nodded and left to prepare the bath while Baron wrote the letter. When he finished the asked Stillachis to go and find a servant to deliver it. After he finished his bath and dressed into his brown suit he ate his lunch when Bastion came back into his room and he had an angry face. “Did something happen Bastion?” Bastion didn’t say a word he just gave Baron a letter. Baron took it and recognized the handwriting. “Phillipe” he said loudly and started to read it. “It’s an invitation to his ball from next month. Hahaha. It’s normal to invite me Bastion. Nobody knows about us and he won’t let all aristocracy to find the truth about him”. Bastion nodded and Baron was surprised to see his angry eyes.

After delivering the letter to the baron bastion stood patiently waiting for the baron to write his reply .When the baron had finished writing he sealed the letter and handed it to bastion ."Thankyou dominus l will deliver it personally to the gentleman just so as to be sure he gets the message ." and with that bastion bowing turned and left .Returning to the kitchen he ordered a carriage to be made ready for himself and for four out riders to be assigned with it ,he then returned to his room and dressed in his most expensive and lavish uniforms the ones that he only wore for the most important and respected guests .On the journey over to the town house bastion sat still as a hundred schemes and plans flashed across his mind ,some stored for later reflection some rejected out right as impracticle or impossible . What he really wanted to do was rip the dukes heart from its chest and present it still beating to the baron but he knew that he would never be allowed to ,sighing softly he decided to deliver the letter and then see what opportunities made themselves availiable . The carriage drew up out side a huge resplendent town house set in its own grounds near the palace complex and as he waited to be admitted bastion could not help but be impressed by it all ,still he thought "lt will make it all the more enjoyable when he looses it all and is crushed under foot " After a short wait he was shown into a small parlour where a handsome man and a pretty and shy looking woman where sat at a small table sipping tea .The duke looked up as bastion entered and nodded then turning to his companion said "See my dear l told that the baron would send his faithful lap dog to deliver the reply ." the woman giggled a little "he is very handsome " she said "Perhaps that is the reason the baron has never married ." Walking over to the table bastion bowed low and murmmered " Your grace and my lady " before handing the barons letter over to the duke and continuing with "The baron has told convey his personal thanks and to say how much he is looking forward to attending as there is so much to chat on and catch up about and also how much he is looking forward to meeting the beautiful duchess. he also wished to have comfirmed that the emperors brother and his wife will be attending " After recieving his replies bastion was dismissed by the duke and he returned to the carriage and his journey home .

Meanwhile Baron was thinking on Phillipe’s letter. He wasn’t so surprised he received the invitation and was curious to meet Phillipe’s Spanish wife. “Even she’s a beauty he doesn’t love her. He always was after boys. Hahaha. And she still didn’t give birth to his heir. He married for nothing”. His thoughts were disturbed by a knocking into the door. “Come in” he answered and Marcus followed by his lover entered into Baron’s private room. After both bowed Marcus spoke “My Lord Stefan is back from his mission and he’s here to present his report”. Baron smiled and answered “I already know your answer. Bastion found the money into my luggage a day after you left. It seems he forgot he put them there. But you did a good job Stefan.” The young guard bowed and looked at Marcus. The Baron laughed and said “I’m sure you missed Marcus who also missed you so bad that almost got sick and wasn’t able to fulfill his duties.” Marcus knelt and started to apologize and Stefan did the same. The Baron ordered “Stand up and listen both of you. From now on you will share the same room. Stefan you must take good care of Marcus so he won’t be sick again. You are free to go”. The young men bowed again and Baron could see their happiness on their faces. As they left he took a book and started to read waiting for Bastion.

On returning bastion went immediately to the barons room .Knocking he entered ,bowing to the baron as he looked up from his reading he started to speak ."Dominus l have delivered your letter and recieved his reply .I have also met the duchess she is shy and pretty looking but has a very inquisitive mind and appears to be much more intelligent than her husband . After just one look at me she declared" he is very handsome perhaps he is the reason the baron has not married" we may need to distance our selves a little more in public and have marcus and stillachi as your personal pages and servants ." Pausing to get his breath bastion continued " I did inquire as to whether the kings brother and his wife would be attending and the dukes face was a picture so l think we have scored a bulls eye there .So dominus what would you like me to do next ?"

“Hahaha. I thought he married her for her money and prestige, not for her smartness. But is she smart enough to see the real face of him? What do you think my Bastion?” the Baron asked still laughing. Bastion laughed too and gave Baron a kiss. The Baron put him on his lap then added “From what I know in public you are just my servitor Bastion, nobody can say we are more. But that woman is jealous I have such a handsome man as you next to me. I’m sure she will have the same reaction in front of me. I will flirt with her for sure my love. As for Phillip is normal to be scared – if the king finds his sister in law has such a lover, he will kill our poor duke. But he will look even better a little shorter, don’t you think my love? Anyway his head is on his shoulders for nothing.” Bastion was laughing so hard hearing Baron’s words and the Baron was happy seeing his lover like that. “Now is time to leave to the countryside Bastion. Is everything ready?” Bastion nodded and soon they were heading to court where the carriage was waiting for them.

The journey from the town house out to the chateau was uneventful and passed with out incident . When they arrived bastion escorted the baron to the ball room where he could see how the preparations for his grand ball were progressing . "See dominus we are running with a theme of red and gold ,very oppulent dont you think ." bastion said looking for approval . "The supplies for the party, champagne and caviar and such like will be arriving tomorrow l have left marcus to over see that . " he continued The baron smiled and nodded his approval before he indicated to bastion that he wished to be given a tour of the chateau and its grounds , after giving the servants further instructions bastion began to show the baron around his temparary home starting at his private lounge and bed room and ending up with a leisurely stroll round the extensive but well maintained gardens . Smiling at the baron bastion said "So dominus do you think that it will do ?"

“I like the castle Bastion. It’s perfect for our ball and also for me to relax away from the big town” Baron answered and smelt a rose. “I will like some flowers in my room Bastion and since it’s a hot day what about a bath into the lake?” Bastion bowed and left to order the flowers for Baron’s room. Meanwhile the Baron went to his room and changed his brown elegant costume with a casual one. Then he took some soap and towels from the bath and a blanket from the closet and went back into the garden. Bastion was coming from the kitchen with a basket full with food and some wine. Baron smiled and said “Oh my Bastion, we haven’t had a picnic for long. It’s such a good idea.” Bastion bowed and he followed the Baron on the other side of the garden where a river was flowing and created a small lake. Baron put the things down and started to undress. He then jumped on it and waited for Bastion to join him.

bastion set up the picnic blankets on the ground and opened the basket taking the bottle of wine out he nealt by the side of the river and scooped out a liitle hollow in the sand in the shallow water before he put the bottle in so that it would be chilled a little . Then after looking carefully around to make sure they where alone apart from the hidden stillachi who was guarding them both . Stripping his clothes off quickly he joined the baron in the small shallow lagoon formed by a slow eddie in the river . Swimming over to the baron he kissed him quickly on the lips before he swam away out of the reach of his grabbing hands laughing as he did so . As he dodged away from the baron giggling at the barons increasingly vigorous efforts to catch him he could not but help notice the fact that that if certain parts of the baron were to believed then the baron was getting very excited .Feigning slipping as he tried to dodge again he allowed the baron to catch hold of him and pull him into a long deep kiss before dragging him into the shallows . After the baron had finished ravishing bastion they curled up together on the blanket enjoying a glass of wine .

“I really miss this” Baron said as Bastion was with his head on Baron’s chest. “The fresh air and the river waters are the best for me, don’t you think Bastion? Soon I will be a little tan and so sexy that all the ladies will be after me”. Baron loved to tease Bastion and didn’t expect on Bastion punching him. “Eh? What was that for my love? You know I have just eyes for you and your cute butt”. Bastion punched him again and Baron started to laugh. “I forgot you hate to be call cute. Last time when I called you like this you was dress as a woman – the wonderful Helen from Troy. After I kissed you and I call you cute you just took your clothes off and threw them in my head before running away in my dressing-gown”. Bastion nodded and gave Baron a kiss. The Baron smiled as an idea came into his mind – “My love can you dance for me as you did back then? No need to be dress as a woman, just to dance” Bastion punched him again before he shook his head as yes. Baron then took him into his arms and ran in the water for another bath.

After a pleasant afternoon spent in the small natural pool by the river the baron and bastion made their way back to the chateau slowly ,enjoying this quiet peaceful time together away from the usual hustle and bustle of the barons household. When they arrived back the baron retired to his drawing room to attend to his correspondence whilst bastion returned to the kitchen with the picnic equipment . After returning the things and having a brief chat with the cook about what household supplies needed to be purchased bastion set out on one of his daily patrols of the house making sure that things were at the standard of cleanliness that the baron expected at least in the public areas and guest quarters .He finished as always at the room he knew the baron to be working in . Knocking quietly he entered the barons drawing room looking round he was suprised to see that the baron was abscent and even more suprised to see a note with his name on propped up on the desk . Striding over to the desk he picked the note up and glanced over the contents a small smile playing over his lips as he read " bastion l am feeling a little tired and unwell so l have gone to lie down in my room ,would you be good enough to attend to me later bringing a light meal for me ." "ps. Bring your dancing shoes as you will have to show me the dance you mentioned earlier." Bastion folded the note and put it in his pocket before turning and leaving the room to prepare for his duties later .

Baron read quickly his few letters, but none was important so he decided it was time for a nap. But he couldn’t leave without writing a note for Bastion. Baron wrote the note smiling and kissed it before letting it on the desk. Still smiling to himself and feeling like a teen being in love for the first time he dressed into his pyjamas and jumped into his bed where he covered himself with the blankets. “Few more hours” he thought before falling asleep. Later a kiss on his lips woke him up. “So you come my love” he said opening his eyes. Bastion put the tray on bed and started to feed the Baron. “Oh, you are such a good boy today. I wonder what happened. Did you have a good day my Bastion?” Baron teased him. Bastion nodded and gave the Baron some tea. “Did you bring the shoes? It’s time for the dance.” Bastion shook his head as yes and took the tray. Then he opened the door and Baron saw Bastion gave the tray to Marcus and also some instructions. Then he closed the door and took a bag from a chair and hurried in the bathroom. Baron giggled wondering what Bastion planned for that night.

Bastion made sure that before he hurried into the bath room the lighting in the barons room was low and flickering .Quickly stripping his clothes off bastion then took a small bottle of oil out of the bag .Slowly and carefully he applied a thin layer of the oil over his body so that it glistened and gleamed in the lamp light in the bathroom. The flickering flame casting ever changing shadows as it caught and highlighted the thin patena of oil that covered him when he was satisfied he dressed himself a linen breechclout and nothing else. Leaving the bathroom he returned to the barons room the the flames flickering from the fire and the small amount of light from the lamps giving his oil covered body a dark silvery sheen that costantly altered as he moved to stand infront of the open mouthed baron . Smiling shyly bastion began to move and sway his body intime to the exotic rythm that was playing in his head .moving his hips and his torso in the manner of a belly dancer he gradualy moved closer to the baron his arm gestures beckoning and teasing at the same time, inviting the baron to taste the myriad of treats his body offered. As the rythm in his head played faster and faster bastion moved faster and faster hips shaking and thrusting wantonly, arms and hands creating ever changing patterns in the fire light till finally he landed on the barons lap his arms twined round his neck and his lips locked against the barons. Slightly out of breath with his exertions he wait for the baron to cliam his prize .
