"That look doesn't suit you." Yoshia's eyes rose to the other's. My look...? You mean... The elder watched the younger began to walk away. When student turned he was surprised with a bright smile- one he'd have never expected from this student. "You shouldn't let anyone take that away from you, you look better with that smile, Yoshida-sensei." Again with my smile...? He does know it's fake right...? The sensei felt warm inside- and not still from the moment before. The simple relationship that he and Himura shared before this event was now drastically different.

Sighing as the door shut, Yoshida drifted his gaze to discernible spot on the ground. ... I look better with my smile huh...? The sensei chuckled lightly and the smiled returned. "You are strange... Himura-kun..."

After spending almost an hour in the admin's office, he was finally all set. He waited for Yuki at the entrance and watched him curiously. 'He's different. Every time I look at him he's different... To each their own I suppose.' He thought to himself, brushing it away. He was never one to judge or criticize people seeing how he wasn't exactly a good judge of character to begin with. He was only good at getting out of a situation, no matter how deep he sank himself in. "Let's go then. It's going to be a long day." He sighed, scanning over the schedule. Every subject had been his least favorite, not a single physically challenging course.

He sailed through his first and second subjects, math and history. He didn't excel but it was still easy enough to get by. He noted his last class, literature and next to it a familiar name of a certain teacher. "Yoshida-sensei." He said out loud. He was lucky he had Yuki to help him find his classes, but being a year apart he couldn't share many subjects with him. He hadn't grown close to the fellow student and it irked him a little that he was using him to get places. He was curious though, if the sensei's expression was still the same. He shook his head, wondering why he was worrying so much. Besides, he wouldn't have to think about it much longer, before he knew it the day was nearing it's end and it was time to go to their last class.

Since his sense of direction was next to nothing, he drew out a map of the school, atleast the places he had been. He glanced over it when he was able to slip away and find a corner to be alone. The class was close just a few doors down actually. He grabbed his book bag and stepped down the hallway, standing at the door before entering and taking a seat in the back of the class.

The sensei smiled upon finishing up a rather long paragraph on the chalk board. The penmanship was near impeccable. Twirling around be began to notice the students gather slowly in his room, he greeted them as they greeted him. The sensei opened a book that was on his desk and skimmed through it. He then turn around again and began writing a literature assignment beside the paragraph.

He went to look back at the book when he noticed Himura-kun walking into the room. The sensei smile towards him, about to greet him, but was ignored as the student continued to his seat. Only sighing the bell rang and the teaching man walked over to the door shutting. All the students were gather and seated by this point. "- So. How many read the assigned reading last night?" He asked lightly. Most if not all students raised their hands," okay, and who actually read the assignment?" Few if any raise their hands. "Congrats, you are all excused from today's lesson. Go home and enjoy the rest of you day~" He smiled wide. "-And as for the others who didn't, You have 30 minutes to read it in class. You may begin." His face was serious here- it made since though.

As some of the students exited and others remained, he scanned over the paperwork on his desk. His pen tapped on the desk for a moment before he started writing on the paper, nothing related to the subject however. He couldn't find himself to get engrossed in the subject the teacher was having them read, instead he started writing his own story, scribbling down the paper as ideas slipped from his fingertips. He looked up from his desk, glancing to the clock. It hadn't felt like much time had passed but he was noticing he was one of the last students there, trying to catch up on their work. His eyes found Yoshida and he stared at him for a moment, watching his expression as he sat at his desk quietly. It hadn't changed much, even the smile he caught from him when he first came in seemed forced.

He looked down at his paper, disappointed to see it still sitting there, his words still scribbled across it. He read through it, as if forgetting what he wrote. It just was about a book he had read a while back. A boy accused of murder and the emotions he felt. He really hadn't done it but because of the mental torture he was eventually convinced that he had done. There was a war raging inside him, even though he tried to stay true his mind was too weak. "Tsk.." He crumbled the paper up and rose from his seat. He stepped towards Yoshida's desk and his hazel eyes sank into Yoshida's. "I... I need another paper." He stated simply, the crumbled paper being tossed in the trash beside the desk. "I also wanted to talk to you about the after school club. I think I'd be interested." He added, a little hesitant.

He was rather quiet, and engrossed in the reading- he had already read this thousands of times, but he loved everything about it. The way it was written, how it was written, why it was written, the time it was written, the reason it was written, and so on ans so forth. A few minutes had passed by, and foot steps echoed the silent room. Yoshida's eyes looked up at the person before him, curiously. "Yes, Himura-kun?" He questioned quietly.

"I... I need another paper." Yoshida sighed and moved to a drawer in his desk pulling out another paper. Returning to his original position he gave the paper to the other. "I also wanted to talk to you about the after school club. I think I'd be interested." A sigh fell from his lips," Himura-kun... Have you finished the reading? If you're interested then come to the library after school- I'll tell you more about it after class- now go finish your work." He quickly dismissed the other, class time was valuable to him.

He picked up the paper and returned to his desk quietly. His original conclusion about his teacher loving his work showing itself through the way he kept himself entranced. After reading through it, he took the paper and got up starting towards the door. 'Where is the Library?' He thought as he glanced towards the empty room, the only other form in the room was his teacher. He hadn't realized how much time had passed. "I'm going." he stated in monotone, leaving the room. He wondered for a second if someone planned to make a move after he was gone but he quickly dismissed the thought, that protective nature trying to push its way out. He motioned for Kita to follow, lending his ear. "Sure what is it?"

He looked over his map and wandered around for a while, finding himself in front of large glass windows, staring into the school yard covered with lush bushes and benches seated around. The halls were mostly empty, except for a few teachers and students meeting and making their way to wherever it was they were going for their after school activities. He felt utterly annoyed by the fact he had no idea where he was so he just stood there, gazing out the window instead of asking for directions by someone passing by.

The bell rang and the sitting sensei stood closing his books. He stretch noticing how empty his room was. A sigh fell heavy from his lips," I bet no one wrote down tonight's readings... Oh,well. I'll just have a pop quiz tomorrow..." His word fell on no ears as he spoke to the air and the walls of the room surrounding him. Putting all his things in a suitcase, he twirled around and began cleaning the board.

Quickly he finished up and grabbed his suitcase heading out the door. He began down the hall and noticed the two new students standing at the viewing glass," Lost are we?" Asked the man playfully. If you follow me, I'll show you to the library." The voice he spoke with was rather soft and kind.

Upon passing a few more classrooms and entering the courtyard, he point straight a head at a large building," That's the library." He chimed.

He nodded to Kita but as soon as he did he caught Yoshida at the corner of his eye approaching them. He seemed to be a better mood then from before, Ryo felt somewhat relieved, oddly enough. He followed behind him and glanced to Yuki, moving closer to him. "Was there something you wanted to talk about?" He asked in a quiet voice, blinking towards the male. As they arrived he was slightly more impressed by this room. It seemed the school took pride in this school, making sure every aspect of it was appealing to those who attended. "Thanks, Sensei..." He smiled lightly and entered the library, noting there wasn't very many people here. "Are they late?" He questioned, referring to the other members of Yoshida's club.

"No..." Smiled the sensei," Not many people like reading after my class..." He chuckle and took a seat at a table filled it three other students. "Hey Yoshida-sensei?! Did you read that new Sci-fi that's out?!" One of the students asked," You mean the one about the person who was locked in a mecha suit and thought he was a mecha himself?" Asked the sponsor of the group. "Yeah! It was really cool! I liked it a lot- what about you Jun-sempai?! Did you read it?" The student ask another student. "I don't talk to people who aren't as smart as me..." Jun stated harshly. " Kino-kun, behave." Criticized the sensei. A sigh fell and he looked at the others two student who were still standing.

"Everyone welcome our new members, Himura-kun and Yuki-kun." Smiling, the sensei introduced the two to the group. The Jun fellow stay quiet.

Most the students didn't say much- but they did say their names. "Well, come and take a seat- let's begin~"

Ryo wasn't pay too close attention, something outside caught his attention. He could see students running about and throwing around a ball to each other. He could hear the students and teacher talking amongst themselves and before he knew it he was being stared at. He was being motioned to sit down and several had given their introductions but he had completely ignored them, rather tuned them out unintentionally. "Ah, gomen-nasai.." He finally said, bowing to the group before taking a seat. He leaned towards Yoshida with question in his eyes. "What's that?" He asked, his eyes fixated on the activity outside.

He glanced around the table, noticing the nature of his suroundings. None of them looked very athletic, the only thing they probably had going for them was their book smarts. He knew the subject matter very well but it was just a matter of applying himself which he hardly did. To him, this was just an escape, a way to avoid going home. "I've read this." He noted, glancing to the book. "There are plenty of stories like this though, I find it very mind numbing." He added honestly, not meaning to sound cold.

The sensei looked outside," looks like four-square. It's just something that dorm student do when the get bored- most of the coaches join them- in fact I think I see the basketball coach..." Yoshida stood and walk over to the door, popping his head outside. "Yo, Daichi-san!" He yelled out to a older man in a hat. The man turned to him and smiled," Yoshida-Sensei! I haven't seen you around lately! How're you?" He asked with an uptown accent. "I'm fine and yourself?" Smiling, the sensei replied. "Good, good- So whatcha up to? Wanna play four squares with me and the rest of the guys?" He ask happily. "Nope- Sorry I have a club going on." "Okay- well I better get back to the game! See you around Yoshida-sensei!" The coach ran off and Yoshida returned inside. Upon sitting down," I will admit that this novel's theme is rather dry, but the character in it is definitely enjoyable. Anyways... Does anyone have any new book ideas they'd like to offer?"

He blinked and observed the friendly conversation between the two men, it hadn't occurred to him how different the sensei could act around different people. The one he saw from before was definitely creepy. A flash back of when he first met him, then to the coldness he felt from when he caught the student harassing him. Maybe he wasn't all smiles after all, something dark lingered in his heart and no matter how much smiled Ryo was beginning to see through it. He leaned forward and eyed the other students as they talked to eachother in hushed voices. He couldn't remember the last book he read, his mind drawing a mental blank.

He ignored it and kept silent, fingering the paper he had folded in his pocket. The assignment he remembered, he hadn't touched it nor even read it. He just scanned through it and left with it. For a moment he stared off into space. He hadn't noticed his eyes had found Yoshida and he wondered how long he'd been staring. He felt a warmness glowing in his cheeks and quickly looked away, biting his lip gently. He wondered why the sensei had to be so young with such delicate features. He didn't dare think there was some kind of an attraction, of course he did wonder what the hell it was that intrigued him about this man.

The sensei only smiled at the other's blush pretending to know nothing of the look he was getting. "Well- I guess I'll suggest a book- it's a british one that I quite fancy- Sherlock Holmes. I've read the series for year- not sure why I never brought it up though..." The Sensei pondered on the thought for a moment," Nonetheless- who here has read it?" He asked lightly. Only Jun had raise he hand," See- you two are not as smart as me- this is why I don't speak to you..." "Oh, Jun-kun! Get off your high horse! You know you're only one score place above Kio and I!" Yelled the outgoing student that spoke of the Mecha Sci-fi book from before.

Yoshida smiled," Now, Now... I think we should read it together and discuss it over the next couple of weeks- it's only about 600 or so pages give or take- we can do this~" The man smiled and looked over at Yuki and Himura. "What do you too think of the idea?" He chimed.

He watched the students bicker to each other and smirked a little at their trivial quarrel. Reading such a enormous book, atleast to him it was an awful lot to read, was going to take him at least a month. He sighed inwardly, accepting it for the sake of remaining occupied.

He glanced towards Yoshida, shrugging indifferently. He loved a good murder mystery but his reading was a few years in the past. He leaned forward and rest his elbows on the table, cupping his chin in his hands. "Tell us about it, Yoshida-sensei." He smiled lightly, his eyes narrowing slightly at the ever so cheery teacher. The more and more he took notice of Yoshida's manner, the more he saw the mask the man wore. He suspected something and in a subtle way was letting the sensei aware of that.

Grinning, the man looked at Himura for a moment, knowing what went on in the boy's head. Once the moment quickly passed, he redirected his attention to the body of students that were gathered at the table. "Well.. It's about a man with a extraordinary eye for detail and clues; however, it's also about a man that accompanies him- this man was a once in the military and owns his own private practice- he is a doctor. The book is written from the eye of the doctor whose name is Watson. The book is about their adventures solving nearly unsolvable crimes and how Mr. Watson's companion- Holmes- the man I previously mention, went about doing it."

"It is a very intriguing peace of British Literature..." He added finally. "-Anything more and I'll ruin the book- Now, Now. What do you all say? Would you like to read it?" With cheer in his voice he glanced to Himura and grinned.

He listened carefully to his words, observing the sensei's reaction. Just what he was looking for. He leaned back in his chair and folded his arms, feeling slightly content. "Sounds interesting. I vaguely remember reading some of it when I was younger." He commented, his voice different from before. "Sir Author Conan Doyle's first publication appeared in 1887. Holme's was known for his ability to adopt almost any disguise and he was famous for his astute logical reasoning." He paused for a moment, biting his lip in thought.

"You know, Doyle's character was somewhat based off a employer he worked as a clerk for, Dr. Joseph Bell. Bell was noted for drawing large conclusions from the smallest observation." He added, his eyes finding Yoshida. So he knew more than he lead on, but it didn't change the fact he wasn't much of a reader. "I suppose I wouldn't mind give it a look through, seems troublesome though." He let out a sigh but smile softly.

The sensei smirked and looked at Himura," I'm so glad you could inform us of this information... Perhaps you know who convinced Sir Conan Doyle to write the stories? His mother of course. His mother would make him write the books- funny isn't it...?" The man looked to everyone at the table before sighing. Suddenly his phone went off- he pulled it out and looked down at it- he hid the angst that shot through him upon seeing the name of the caller," If you will all excuse me~" He chimed standing and walking outside.

"Hiroya... Where are you?" Sighing the male answered," What do you want, Soushi?" He asked plainly. "You left without saying anything last night... So, Where are you? Are you with another man?" The voice over phone began to grow angry. A audible sigh fell from the Sensei's lips. "No... I'm at my Literature club..." "Don't lie to me..." "Fine... I'll be there shortly..." Giving into the other's wants he frowned. He didn't want to see that man- the one that was cheating on his wife with him- he didn't want to be apart of the sin he aided in. "Okay... The same hotel. Bye." The man hung up. "Bye..." Echoed the voice of the sensei. Why did he have to love a man that was married...?

The sensei flipped his frown, and walked inside. "Hey- looks like we'll have to end the club here. I have to go home early today- sorry guys..." His smile was wide and apologetic. Yoshida's eyes drifted to Himura's- but then shot away. Don't look at me like that... I know it's wrong...

Ryo's eyes watched him curiously as Yoshida escaped outside suddenly, clutching his phone. Something didn't feel right but he couldn't quite put his finger on it. He smiled inwardly, feeling like the very man they were discussing. There was a mystery to unfold with this man, but was he to pursue it? He stretched out a little and let out a yawn, glancing towards the other students who seemed oblivious.

As Yoshida returned his attention shifted back to him, a curious expression on his face. 'Whats the hurry Sensei?' He thought as Yoshida explained it was time for him to go. He wanted to get up and follow after him but as soon as he stood and stepped towards him he froze. There was something in his eyes, something hidden. "Sensei... See you tomorrow then." He finally said, giving him an open look. If there was anything, Ryo showed a vulnerability he didn't let anyone else see. "Wait." He called out, pulling out a paper and scribbling on it. "I hope this isn't unusual but I might forget to pick up the book, can you contact me sometime to remind me? I tend to forget my homework..." He said quickly, holding out the paper to him. There was context hidden in those words and he knew the sensei was sharp enough to recognize he was offering an ear if he needed it.

The sensei smiled," Tomorrow it is then..." Twirling around, Yoshida began for the door,"Wait." He looked toward Himura. "Huh?" His voice sounded. He looked puzzled as the other gave him the paper,"I hope this isn't unusual but I might forget to pick up the book, can you contact me sometime to remind me? I tend to forget my homework..." Hesistant, the sensei took the paper and smiled that smile he usually carried. "Of course~" Little did the other know that Yoshida would never call him- ever- or at least not for now.

The sensei twirled around," See you all tomorrow~!" He yelped just before leaving. I feel... Disgusting... His head fell heavy as he left the school.

His phone pinged again just as he got out of a taxi," I'm here..." "Room 427" "Okay..."

He felt somewhat relieved once Yoshida was out of sight. He ignored it for the most part, but when he was around he felt tense, like the air around him was heavy. He turned around and stared at the ground for a moment before waving a hand, leaving the library. He figured sooner or later this moment was to come, it was time to head home. There wasn't anything else on his agenda, nothing he could involve himself in or get distracted by. This school and the town was entirely too new to him and if he went exploring he'd just get lost.

He took slow steps, making sure to take his time. He could already see his house, it's outline against the sunset. There were no lights, no vehicles, it just sat there with an empty aura floating about. He stopped at the entrance, his eyes dimming as the life was draining from him. He slipped off his shoes and slid the door open, a cloud of smoke wafting out. The stench was enough to gag him if he hadn't been use to it. There was several other odors lingering, booze and something putrid. He peered around the corner, his eyes straining in the darkness.

His fingers fumbled around on the wall until he found a switch, the light causing a hiss from his mother's lips as she laid curled in the middle of the room. "Ryo-chan, is tha- is that you?" Her voice quivered as she shielded her eyes. Her body slumped forward as she sat up, a sideways smile creeping on her face. "You know your father always came home late...hahah" She cackled but her voice dropped. "He was such a hard worker...Why can't you be more like him?" Her eyes seemed lost as she searched the room for him even though he stood right in front of her. She grinned when her eyes found his, her body wobbling slightly.

"You should get some sleep..." He said, looking back at her. He kneeled down and started to grab the bottle but stopped and picked up her cigarettes instead. He popped one in his mouth and lit it, inhaling deeply before letting the smoke out. "We talked about Sherlock Holmes today. Remember, mom, you always use to love reading." His voice was plain, almost emotionless as he stared out a window overlooking the backyard. She nodded happily and let out a small giggle. "Hojo would make me read him a bed time story... every night!" She exclaimed loudly, pointing at Ryo. He glanced to her, he had no memory of his brother. There were no photos or material possessions. He only remembered spending several weeks in the hospital half conscious while his mother was at home doing god knows what.

"Mom, I'm going to bed. Love you." He flicked the cigarette butt out the window and entered his room, quietly shutting the door. It was still early evening but he knew his mother didn't know the difference. He hated this sense of helplessness, unable to remember, and most of all feeling dead. His mother acted like he was just some ghost floating around. Somehow he just wanted to feel tangible. He laid down and tried to drift to sleep, not caring if it meant waking up hours early for school. "Bring it on..." He mumbled in his pillow, burying his head.

"Shit-Shit-Shit! I'm Late!" Scrambled a man with green eyes out of a bed. "Hiroya... Where are you going...? I still have time-" A voice spoke, demanding from under bed sheets. "I have to go Soushi- I have work- and I'm going to be late again!" He yelled in a hushed tone looking back at the bundle of clothe on the bed. It shifted and a older man sat up from it. "So you're leaving me again... Huh? Who is it?" He growled standing and walking over towards Yoshida. "No one! I have to go to work. By-" Before the other could leave- his wrist was grabbed and pulled back. "You leave when I say you can..." The eyes of the other were dull and heartless. "You wouldn't want to leave me like this... Think of my brother... What he did for you-" "Damn your brother- I have to get to wor-" "SLAP" Yoshida tumbled to the ground. "Never. Talk. About. Him. Like. That. Ever. Again." Yoshida's hand held the injured cheek as he laid there motionless- how much more demeaning could the other have been? A slap to the face was really to much... The sensei stood," Never F*cking call me again!" He went to leave and once again was grabbed, but this time was thrown back onto the bed. "You're not going any where..."

It was 6:40 AM now- and the sensei got out of a taxi, running a hand through his hair, a sigh falling as heavy as it could off of his lips. I... I... Can't do this anymore... I'm falling apart... Yoshida stopped for a moment, brushing a hand over his red cheek. What is my excuse going to be...? I guess I'll think of something... Steeping forward another step, he dropped to his knee in pain," D-damnit..." He murmured to himself. Why did I let this happen... Maybe I should just turn around... Go home- Wait- but... He'll know- I-I can't go home... Coming to his feet, Hiroya began to walk into the school and to his room. He carried a slight limp and hoped no one would notice it.

Once in his room his plopped in his chair, elbows on the desk, face in his hands. Exhaustion, Shame, and Pain- that was all he felt at once. A gloom of depression began to set over him. Why do i do this to myself... I want someone to save me- but, how can they save me from myself...? Pulling his head up he stared at the floor. Oh yeah... I'm suppose to make a pop quiz... Standing, Yoshida turned around swallowing the pain that shot through his body and began writting questions from yesterday's reading on the board. I'm not going to be moving much today...

Crashing. Again. His eyes opened slowly and like he had every morning, like clock work, got dressed and found his way through a dark house. He found a body sunken to the floor, snoring very loudly. His eyes drifted over the form, checking for any injuries. Clear. He rose to his feet and gathered numerous bottles scattered about. He dropped them in a bin and begin inspecting the kitchen and rooms for anything that resembled liquor. He only found a small bottle of rum hiding in the bathroom beneath the toilet. He smiled lightly shaking his head. "You never could hide anything from me." He stepped past his mom and slipped the bottle into his bag.

This morning, the sun had a chance to pour into the streets before he was up and heading to school. It was nice for a change, to greet the horizon. It's warmth felt nice on his back as he made his way to school. He passed through the gates, jogging somewhat as he felt invigorated. He wasn't running late quite yet but it was already time for his first class. He was quiet throughout most of his first classes, keeping to himself, sitting in the back, not acting interested or bored, just savoring the day of peace and quiet. He was reading up on the assignment Yoshida had given him, and for some reason he felt anxious, like he couldn't wait to share his homework with him. He shook it off, keeping his cool before he let himself get too worked up about some miniscule assignment.

He heard the bell tone and picked himself up, making his way to his last class. His class. Yoshida's classroom. He dug in his backpack and pulled out a wrinkled stack of paper. His eyes were down when he entered the room, early and first to the class. "Sensei I ha-" His voice dropped suddenly, eying the redness on Yoshida's cheek. He knew well to believe it was just because he may have been leaning on it, but he didn't want to jump to any conclusions just yet. Maybe his sensei was just clumsy. Or maybe not. His eyes carefully examined Yoshida before he spoke, stopping in front of his desk. "Yoshida-sensei. Does it hurt?" He asked, resisting the urge to reach out and touch it, inspect it more like it.
