yourstalker
My friend personally prefers doujins and fanfiction or independantly published yaoi because censorship in thoughs are minimal, Also alot of them break away from tradition though i'm more of a "conventional" yaoi type of person. Because of this my friend is always trying to find ways to critisize it and one of her reasons is the poor anatomy some yaoi's have expesially in the erotic scenes. These can include the seme's being depicted with ginormous hands.....so does anyone know why that is? Is it a thing that shows up in all manga, because I've only scene it in yaoi.....my friend sugest its to hide the penis because there seems to be a thing in some yaoi where there is complete lack of genetalia at all.... Or is it a style my primitive art brain cannot comprehend ...or prehapes its some completly different reasons...if anyone can find examples please show because I can't post pictures on here for some reasons. I dunno its a little thing that bugs me maybe someone can shed some light on this?
YukiTakumi
My guess has always been, (because of a rumour) that guys with big hands or thumbs has a big thing "down there" So the mangakas tries to make the seme manlier with big hands... But it could also be the reason you mentioned I think ^.^
SailorRishi
Hey. First of all I want to clear the deffinition about Doujishis. Doijnshis is an Japanese term for self published works, usually magazines, manga or novels. There exist two kinds of Dj's. Doujishi as an original story and Doijishis as an Crossover from a Manga. Now back to huge hands ^^ Like everything in yaoi, the acts are symbolic. The audience are mostly women and so the storys are also written. The huge hands represent secureness, exactly that what is every womens desire. She wants a man who will give her safety, a man who is holding her, who can controll everything. So don't judge easy on the drawing style or the anatomy, everything has his own meaning, even if the Manga is not that good drawn, it is for a good reason. Some Mangakas want set the story in the front, so if you have two pretty bishonen it will not perfectly fit in the scenario, it will not give that feedback for what this story was or what the Mangaka wished for. Am not saying that two pretty boys can't be set in a serios storyline, but this also depend from artist to artist. I've read so many Mangas and I was less dissapointed in the drawing style. Sometime it was fine by me that the boys was not that pretty drawn so I was able to concentrate me on the storyline.
ppyporpeem
well, having your thing played with by a big hand that can hold the full size of your member is a very good thing i guess. (it's so hard to explain, there's a lot of pleasurable spots on a man's thing, i guess having a big hand is advantageous on this and it also shows the domination of the seme over the uke as well i guess, i'm only speculating from things i have seen, i could be wrong.) Gatichan
haha- I've never actually paid attention to the hands, because I'm always admirinf the faces and muscular bodies. But I agree with my previous speaker- what's so weird about that? I think the association is quite obvious...
