Roy drove home and packed a bag before locking the place up securely. He wouldn't be there for awhile. Heading back to his car, he thought about telling Ed goodbye. He thought better of it though when he realized the blonde didn't need, nor probably want, a pleasant parting from the raven. He sighed and headed to town. He was going to eat something before heading off.

Ed walked with his brother to the train station and paused before stepping on. Roy never said goodbye. Actually he would prefer see you later. Looking back over his shoulder back into the city he felt his chest tighten with an unknown feeling. Maybe he wanted him to be there, or maybe he felt something was going to go wrong. Stepping onto the train he sighed softly and took a seat to head out to their destination.

Roy caught his train, headed north, and looked to the south, out the window. South.. where he had sent Ed. "Fullmetal... Don't do anything stupid. I beg of you."

A week passed. He was lead to many dead ends and almost died but he wasn't about to tell anyone that. After running into Envy he wasn't about to explain what that man did but decided heading home was his best option. Walking into Roy's office he expected him to be back so he found someone to ask what was going on.

Fuery was fumbling with cups of coffee as he headed to the conference room, he was flustered and had a depressed aura about him. It wasn't rare to get news of a lost soldier, but it didn't make any of it any easier. Roy had left on his mission to the north as planned. Unfortunately in that time, all contact was lost and reports of witnesses seeing the colonel being killed in action. It seemed the whole office had the same aura as the small raven haired man.

Ed walked to Fuery doing him, "what's going on?" He looked covered at him, fearing the worst.

Fuery looked up at Ed and frowned. "Ed? Oh... Yes, you were to come back today..." The raven put his head down and shook his head sadly. "Ed, there is terrible news. We are having a meeting on the matter right now. I just went to fetch coffee. No one has been getting a lot of sleep these past couple days. Maybe you should sit in on the meeting."

Ed's throat went dry and he ran into the room seeing several people in for the meeting. He knew this wasn't good, especially since Roy wasn't there, "what happened?"

 

Hawkeye sighed softly and looked down. She hadn't spoken much since they heard the news. They were debating on sending a small group in but she knew once Ed found out he would go there anyway.

Fuery entered and passed the coffee out before taking a seat. "Ed, please take a seat. We will get to that. I believe everyone is here, sir... I mean.." THe raven blushed darkly and looked down. He couldn't have stopped the slip even if he wanted to.

Ed didn't really care about his title around these people unless they picked on his size but right now he wanted information. Sitting down he was rigid in his seat, "then someone please explain it to me."

 

Hawkeye looked around the table seeing everyone there but couldn't bring herself to tell them the bad news. She looked to the others for help.

Breda ran a hand through his short unkempt hair and sighed, standing up, stiff as a board. "We have received several reports from the north. After careful evaluation and consideration, it has come to our knowledge that..." He looked down and seemed to slump a little. ======================================================================= Falman stood up next to Breda and cleared his throat. "What Breda was trying to say is that Colonel Roy Mustang has been marked KIA. We will be having a military service for him in three days. Everyone is urged to come, but we will not make it mandatory. There will be a mourning period in which you may all take a two day leave as long as you request it through Lieutenant Riza Hawkeye. Due to the current circumstances, we will be building a group to investigate further up north the day after the service." THe gray haired man took his seat and nodded as Breda took his seat as well.

Ed felt a horrible dread fill him as they spoke. No...nononononono! His hands clenched into tight fists. No it couldn't be true! He knew he should have gone with him! The blond sat there for only a couple minutes more before he quickly left.

 

"Edward?" Hawkeye stood but then sat back down. What could she say?

 

Ed ran and ran until his legs could carry him no more. He made it to Roy's house. Using his alchemy he got inside and stood in the living room. He'd been here and was starting to learn it. Touching the couch he walked past it and to the bedroom. He looked down at the made bed and wondered if his scent was there. Falling forward with a flop he fell onto it and was surrounded by his smell.

 

"Taisa..." he trembled as tears streamed down his cheeks. It didn't take long for the rage to build though. He was going up there to demand answers or to find the bastard!

 

That night he even left without his brother and told no one of where he was going. He was determined to find this man, or kill who did it.

Fuery frowned and folded his hands together. "Lieutenant... Shouldn't someone go after Ed?"

Hawkeye looked down, "he's just going to blow off some steam, he won't do anything stupid." She was far too upset to deal with him right now. She wanted revenge too but didn't know how to handle it.

Fuery frowned and nodded as he bowed his head. "Yes, sir." The raven rubbed his arm and shifted nervously.

Little did they know he was making his way there right now. He caught wind of a group of soldiers staying in a local town and that they were hiding out. He decided to hunt them down and talk to them about it. Then that's when he came across a brothel. The women were slung over the men there and it made him feel a little sick but also he kind of compared himself to them. He sold himself for information.

 

"Hey there sweetheart," a large military man said and pulled Ed towards him. "Wanna have a go?"

 

Ed paled a little and shoved against him, "let go of me you over grown buffoon!"

A blonde with long wavy hair walked up, swaying her hips form one side to the other with each step. "Oh, darling, are you the one they sent to assist here?" Her voice was a little high p[itched but with a sultry twist to it. "You look a little young, but oh well. Come along. Before one of these animals ravish you." The woman gave the large military man a look that said back down. "As the owner here, I will be sure you only work what you were sent here to do."

Ed watched as the man sat down and adjusted his jacket, "yes of course." He turned to look at her seriously and wondered if it was just to get him away from that man or if something else was going on behind the scenes. "Please take me to where you need my assistance."

"Well, didn't they tell you what your purpose was, my dear?" The woman smirked as she led the blonde down a long hallway that branched off into silk draped rooms. "He loves the blondes. And we needed someone that could truly win his favor. The poor man needs some uplifting."

"Win his favor huh?" Ed walked with her and glanced around seeing this was a nice place but he still felt a little dirty here. Maybe this could lead him to someone with information. "What kind of uplifting is he looking for?"

"It's simple. We believe he needs the most pleasurable uplifting." She stopped at the end of the hall and unlocked only closed door in the whole place. She pushed the door open and gesture for Ed to enter. "You're a bit flat chested, but I think we can work with it. Who knows, maybe he likes flatter chests." The room was covered in pale blue and white silk. In the center of the room was an in-floor tub that reeked with the aroma of lavender. Back towards the back, giggling could be heard comeing from behind silk drapes.

Ed looked around the room and made a face. So this was how it is... He would need to quiz this man. Flat chested huh? He touched the front of his chest and sighed softly. He wondered if Roy would have preferred it if he had been a woman. Roy... this is for you! Taking a deep breath he prepared himself for a fight. Flinging back the silk he stepped in, "your in need of some uplifting I hear."

Onyx eyes widened as they took in the sight of the blonde. Laying all over the raven haired man, were a bunch of ladies that worked for the brothel. THey seemed un perturbed by the presence of the other. The man didn't bother hiding his shock. There lay the great Colonel Roy Mustang, in only a pair of boxers with bandages covering his ribs and shoulder. "Ed?"

Ed's determined face slowly turned into shock, "no... No you're dead..." He took a step back as he started to shake. No... nononononono! He took a shaky breath then grit his teeth and glared at him, "you... you're hiding here? Of all places... were you... Here with women all over you! I thought you were dead!" Tears streamed down his face as he felt relieved to see him but also horribly angry.

"Hey..." Roy moved to get up, but winced instead. THe women cooed over him ran their hands over them. THe blonde woman glared down at Ed and crossed her arms. "Either do your duty or leave. I don't need you yelling in here, child."
