Saito Tsuchimikado

 

A third year student who has a hobby of observing people. Though he's a megane character, he's miraculously not a nerd and can blend well in class. The class representative who welcomes his classmates problem with open arms. But behind this facade lies the greatest secret which's better left unknown.

 

Saito's daily lifestyle outside the school is a mystery to the rest. One that's certainly known to them is that he lives alone. As to his exact age was yet a confusion to everyone and might as well his address. Often caught in the act reading newspaper and has a non-teenager hobby to their surprise.

Yawns* as he rubbed his eyes and wore his eyeglasses. Glancing at everyone in the class, he couldn't help but felt bored. The class was still ongoing, how he wished it was over. Saito even planned on going to a foot massage spa to ease his numbing feet. He stared at the clock on the wall and yawned again. Letting loose his tight gakuran*, he then noticed a piece of paper on his desk.

 

"Sai, help me with the photocopies later---"

 

After reading the scribbles he stared at the source and a girl signed his hand in a please manner. Saito gave him a thumbs up, hoping that the teacher wouldn't notice the both of them. Then everything continued to it's usual and boring manner.

 

"tch--- an alien invasion--er or a zombie apocalypse should occur...it might help suspend this boring class ." He murmured to himself trying to escape from reality.

Neji Higashi

 

A third year highschool student who works as an Assistant Nurse to cover his school bills.

His father and mother got re-married leaving him behind and so he lives for himself.

He loves the crowd but hated people.

He doesn't care much but wouldn't care less for himself.

Always gets in trouble but it's no big deal.

Rumored to be a pervert in the infirmary,

no weaklings ever want to come near this nasty dude,

even the head nurse get scared of his grin sometimes.

He's a smart-ass behind his teasing personality, and yes, he loves to tease.

He smokes, he drinks, and loves to be entertained by his ladies all the time.

He can be good or bad, who knows.

*inside the infirmary*

 

"ugh, N-neji~ it.. it Kind of hurts.." A patient whined

"Don't worry about it.." I answered back in a sweet voice "I'll be gentle.. Promise"

 

Hearing those things the Head Nurse folded her eyebrows with annoyance. I'm having fun hearing my patients whine in a way of pleasure, but someone here must've missed her husband, she gets annoyed every time I entertain my lovely patients.

 

Opening the curtains and bursting her perverted thoughts, the head nurse glared at me as if telling me to just shut my mouth.

I swayed a look at her and asked "what?"

she answered back "keep it down or I'll kill you".

I went back to business and whispered to my patient "she just got her divorce.." and laughed a bit.

My patient smiled and just nodded as I heal his scraped knee.

 

Continuing on the healing process, I sighed and thought, if the head nurse isn't here, I might have done the 'real' thing. Man, I really wish to finish for today and go home.

Alas, I've been waiting for the last period this afternoon to end. I'm really at my wits end on how to entertain myself earlier. Here goes Aina, she wanted my help and I agreed to help her, at my free will of course.

 

"Let's go," she smiled at me while I nodded at her.

As to what we're doing was just a trivial stuff. She was tasked to deliver the photocopies of the health certificates and records. Aina and I parted ways at the hallway, ---she went to the faculty office while I went to the infirmary.

 

Opening the door, there I saw the head nurse and 'some beings.'

I placed the papers on top of the desk.

 

"Here are the records." I said.

 

--crap, did that sound rude? I forgot to use formalities.

I was lying down the clinic bed, half asleep when I heard the Nurse head greet someone.

 

"Oh Saito dear, good to have you here" She said

 

I moved the curtain a little and saw this.. this guy.. I know this guy.. I'm a bit dizzy though, my day is really boring and my eyes are half-opened from sleepiness. I was about to go back to my sleeping session when the Nurse head called me with her overly unloving voice.

 

"Neji! Get this! You keep on sleeping there, do your work!" She yelled.

 

I stood up lazily, I took the papers and looked at this guy.. oh! now I remember him, Tsuchimikado Saito, the school representative. Our eyes glanced with each other for a bit and I thought 'this guy is enjoyable' I smiled with grin and licked my lips a little as I try to focus myself on the records.

 

"What do I do with this?" I asked smiling to Saito instead of the head nurse.

Did he just licked his lips. This ingrate!

Youngsters nowadays should not display such attitude.

 

 

"You shouldn't be asking me Higashi, ask the nurse," I smiled as I rolled my eyes to the head nurse who saw Neji's reaction. This man, I scratched my head, is Neji Higashi. Who wouldn't forget this troublesome person. He never fails to drop by the disciplinary office just to get some scolding and he's notorious for being a pervert. Everything about him emits trouble--A DISTRESS! He shouldn't be fooling around, he must focus on his studies. Before I forgot that I was on the room, I bowed at the nurse.

 

"I shall take my leave."

The nurse glared at me and her eyes pointed at the papers. As this Saito said his goodbye I whined a bit wanting his attention.

 

"Leaving already?" I said and made an excuse "heh, the nurse will only say blabbers about her divorce instead of explaining to me what to do" it wasn't really just an excuse, it's true, she'll make my day worse and not let me leave on time for her blabbering.

 

Suddenly blocking half Saito's way, I said "why not explain it to me for a little, ne" my eyes stuck in his eyes as well waiting for a nice reply. Though I doubt that.

"You're a hopeless case," I said as I was about to return at the infirmary and sat at an empty chair. I know he was surprised, he didn't see that coming. Is he the only one who knows how to fool around? Then he's all wrong. I need to straighten this brat--once and for all. I don't have that kind of hobby but if he wanted a game, then I'll give him a game.

 

I smiled at the head nurse. "Oh you shouldn't be helping him..." she said and then glared at Higashi.

"It's ok, at least I can be of any help--'maam'." I leaned on the chair and gave him the explanation he's searching for.

 

 

--Like I thought, politeness really makes my throat dry.

'gotcha!' I thought to myself, I frowned back to the head nurse and said "as if.." and turned my way. Though I never thought Saito would stay and really explain to me these things, I feel my aura rising in a malicious way. I sat down in a chair turned the other way around, I leaned my chin at the top rail of the chair and stared at Saito. 'Man, he looks cute, I wonder what he looks like without his glasses.'

 

"ahh..." I said agreeing to his explanations. Putting on a really boring face while my sight become blurry, I'm feeling sleepy with all this. I'm actually waiting for the nurse to leave for today, it's almost past 18:00 and she's still around, I didnt get to victimize any patients because she's been here the whole day. I then changed my focus to the nurse, I scowled with a sad mouth whispering 'leave already!', but she didn't.

 

Looking back to Saito who seems to be enjoying himself with this explanation of his that I dont understand, I smiled sarcastically with my eyes half-opened and my eyebrows up saying "yea, right, I understood.." continuing my imaginations in my head.

And this guy's not even listening at all. Speaking about rudeness, he would've won an award. But first impressions first, I need to look nice in front of them. Is this a test of endurance? Or my boiling point?

 

Damn look at this bastard, is he still even here? I tried to pretend not to notice his inattentiveness, really I tried. I even heard him murmur about his wishes regarding the nurse to leave. I slammed the goddamn papers on his hands to draw his attention. Gave him a quick smile and said, "To sum it up, you should be doing your job and cut the perverted thoughts, kay'?"

 

The suspect flinched, and yes, I nailed it right. He really was thinking about something perverted. I left the place without asking for their permission.

He does enjoy these boringness. My face turned blank when he tries to put me back to focus. I smiled a bit thinking of how long will he take this aura of mine mehehe but it didnt last long I guess. I was a bit shock when he slammed those papers in my hands and said some things that didnt actually went in my ears. All I heard was 'kay?' I just nodded.

 

Before I knew it he already stepped out the clinic. And my face is full of disappointment for this day. I glared to the Head nurse with the biggest frown telling her "your fault.....". She growled back telling me to just go home.

 

Pfft. Telling me to go home now, stupid nurse. Looking at the records while walking outside the corridors of the school, I tried to understand what to do, because I didnt listen to that Saito ofcourse, but I cant stop thinking and smirking about his cuteness though. Damn, I wanna take off his glasses. Thinking about all those stuff I smiled with grin, as if I'm planning something tomorrow in his class.

I headed to our classroom and packed my things. I wanted to have some space... Rooftop's not in the option since girls are sometimes hanging around there and they're a little loud. So I decided to drag my feet towards the empty gymnasium. Lucky for me to have a spare key. Well I always have these spare keys, I guess. I sat at the lower wing and took a laptop and a cigarette. Rule 19 of the handbook: Smoking is STRICTLY prohibited inside the campus. However, there's an exemption to the rule--and that's ME. Quite cocky eyt?

 

Staring at the screen, I began to do my usual work. It took me an hour to notice that it's getting darker outside. I shrugged and then continued tapping the keys. "---I should finish this by ten," as I stared at my wristwatch closely and removed my gakuran. Shoved the sleeves above the elbow and I continued typing fast.

Still walking through the corridors, I continued thinking about these stupid papers on my hands. "ooh so I have to call the check ups of those without a signature.." ha! I'm so smart, but not so, I feel so lame today, so lame I dont even wanna go home, but I guess I'll just hang out at the bar later, my little girls and boys are waiting for me mehehe.

 

While I'm fixing the records in my hands I smell something, it's coming from the gym, 'hmm?' asking myself I walked nearer smelling a cigarette. 'heh, someone's hiding and smoking ne'. The nearer I get I can hear this time a laptop keyboard being smashed fastly, not really smashing though, it's a bit loud. I opened the door a little and peeked inside the gym and oh, I saw this Saito guy that's been blurring my head for awhile. I half-closed my eyes to see him clearer, and was surprised for he is not wearing his glasses. I hid myself a little behind the gym door and thought 'I feel like a stalker just now, am I not?'. I took a peek again and he suddenly stopped typing for a little, it's quite dark so I guess he wouldnt really see the outside that much, depends if he's going to turn on the lights.

 

If he's not leaving right now, I'm going to attack this prey.

"No, crap, not this one----" I ruffled my hair in anger. I kept having mistakes these days. Am I really that tired? Day and night I slave myself to this bunch of works. Will they never end? I lighted another round of cigar and continued stroking the keys. I should deserve some prize for being so damn dedicated. I exaggeratedly stretched my limbs and legs. I rotated my head. "Let's see----" I stopped for a moment and noticed my hair behind my neck raised. One thing's for sure---someone's here.

 

"Students should leave the school premises--it's past eight now..." I calmly said while closing the laptop's lid. "And that probably includes me," I guess I should continue this at home. Whoever it was, I really don't give a damn.

Ksu, I have to do something before he go, think fast think fast! Thinking about how bad my day is, I should really have a nice day end, and about that, seeing Saito's pretty face, this is my hunger's chance for food, my dinner is ready mehehe. I smiled and went in the gym.. "The school representative smoking inside school, shouldn't you be more like, an idol to everyone?" I walked nearer "you're one stubborn to tell me to leave." talking about rules, he's one who disobeys.

 

The closer I get, the bigger the grin on my face is shown, blocking Saito's way I took his cig and hit it, staring to his eyes like a devil preying on a delicious soul, I continued my words with "I'm hungry".

--Ah, he really is troublesome....

As my eye's we're dead-tired, I grabbed the wallet from my pocket. "If you're hungry, you should eat--here, this'll probably let you dine a decent food. " I shove to him a couple of bucks. Lowering my back, I passed under his arms. See, that's easy as one to three.

 

I don't have time to took part of his childish games.

 

I touched the crease above my head and flattened it. I shouldn't be pissed off---he's just a brat.

And my eyebrows are crossing. No way you'll get away from me. Food is the man's bestfriend! Though I was thinking about a different food, I pulled your hand making you face me, as I see your face so tired, I laughed for a bit and said "the fuck." I put into your pocket the money you have given "you're no fun" and I suddenly felt the failure of my day.

 

As my being a pervert has gotten worse, I was about to attack you, good thing my phone rang, I answered it and a friend of mine is looking for me, telling me there's a new kid at the bar. "FINALLY!" I said on the phone "I was so bored here!" talking on the phone while walking away from Saito, ofcourse I wouldnt leave without saying my goodbye, I licked my lips and winked back at him saying "I'll see you tomorrow" while still hitting on his cigarette.

 

And my night will be glorified by my angels at the bar. Finally, something good to end my day.

Did he got pissed? well, I meant to play the innocent type. As he shoved the money back to me, I on the other hand rubbed my eyes. Damn, I'm so tired and I hadn't listened to what he said. He left me standing in front of the gym. Let me guess, he's the type who doesn't go home after school but instead, he likes to hang out with this so called 'Night friends.'

 

I waved at him, bidding him farewell. "Have a wonderful night !!" I shouted at him sarcastically and went to the opposite direction. How can I cure his horny attitude? Let's see about that, I rubbed my chin and sighed.

The night was perfect! Me and my friend, Rufus, were laughing while we're on our way home "hahahaha yea, the new kid is now my favorite!" brushing my hair up smiling at him, you can smell the alcohol and cigarette in our bodies.

 

"Haha you always say that to the new ones, Neji" Rufus said giving a pat on my shoulder "tsk tsk you need to settle yourself, my friend" and laughed again.

 

"no way. I'm too young to stress my self with all that. See your eye bags? Man, your girlfriend's keeping you up all night, tsk tsk" and I pat his shoulder back as well.

 

Why settle when you're young. Pfft, tsk we should be enjoying our lives as of the moment and not regret that we had fun since we're young. Thinking about fun, I know someone who's 'no fun' at all.. Saito, the school representative, he's boring, insensitive, no fun, no fun at all, but he is pretty, ah, pretty- yes yes, I smiled to myself and thought 'Tomorrow, I'll be playing at school tomorrow, I wont fail this time.'

I arrived at home with no one welcoming me. Yeah, I live alone--in this huge traditional house since my parents died young and my older sister married early. I prepared myself an instant noodles. Then, continued doing what i'd started in school. See, my life's boring---just plain boring. It's not like I hate my work at all since it's always part of my lifestyle.

 

The doorbell ranged, ah, it's my sister's daughter, Yuuma.

 

"Occhan*, Glad you're still alive." She hugged me tightly and tenderly.

"Hoi, that's rude, I'm unfortunately alive though," I ruffled her hair and smiled.

"Neh, neh mom told me to give this to you. Whoa occhan you never age," She laughed while handing to me a box of cake. You could see her imaginary tail wagging. But I was wondering what are those huge bags beside her for?

"Oi, your manners are really damn good---" I flicked her forehead.

"and--and she said that I'll go to uncle's school starting tomorrow," Her eyes glittered in happiness while on the other hand I was surprised.

"Eh, but why??" I curiously asked since Sanae, Yuuma's mom, doesn't want to be separated with her.

"Coz' mom told me, occhan's lonely so I'm tasked to accompany him for the rest of my high school days..." She said and saluted like a soldier.

 

Yuuma never changed, she's still as childish as ever. And oh, I doubt that my daily life will be peaceful with her appearing like a storm.

"bye for now Rufus" I waved my goodbye to my friend who lives nearby.

 

I entered my empty house. You walk in, you feel nothing. Empty. Really empty. I only come home when I'm tired or when I have someone to play with, privacy is here y'know. With all my CDs and Magazines scattered on the floor, plus my video game cards and such, I am such a lonely guy. I suddenly heard a flashback of being 'settled', I shook my head being disgusted, no way, I'd rather marry myself. Such things dont exist.

 

I threw myself in the sofa, I left the lights on as I drool myself of alcohol. 'Man... Great play tonight, the new kid is gay, heh and ofcourse I'm the one to welcome *smirks* and he's good too..' my head is spinning a little, I didnt even get to change clothes. 'what should I do tomorrow' asking myself forgetting about homeworks, the records and such.. I closed my eyes slowly and these blabbers in my head continues in my dream.

"Hurry occhan, we're going to be late." Ahw, her bright smile's too blinding for a stressed man in this sunny morning. "Quit with the occhan, will you?" I grunted while cursing the daylight. It's always so painful to look at this bright sun but it's getting worse these days. "Ah, I'll call you Saito, then." I flinched but replied, "Whatever suits you." I explained everything about the school to her and including stuffs of her becoming my accomplice.

 

Oh I forgot to tell you, I'm the chairman of the school and a student at the same time. I've been doing this for quite a long time just to monitor my beloved student's life in school. That's the secret I'm hiding, well not really. Just imagine an old man wearing a gakuran, isn't that weird? That's probably the case as to why it's classified to be a 'secret.' As to the ones who knew the secret were: the head of the faculty, Sanada and my homeroom teacher Yukimura--we'll add Yuuma to that.

 

I escorted Yuuma to her room, drowsily. "Don't forget to eat your bento on time, kay' gotta go." I ruffled her hair and left. "Bye, Saito!" She shouted while waving her hand. Thus, I'm not still used in being called in that way.

Snoring.. I feel like it's still evening. After some minutes I sat down and rubbed my eyes, I looked at the window and saw sunlight from outside, I suddenly had a glance with the wall clock. "shit!" I hurriedly went to the bathroom to clean myself 'it's morning already!' I took my shower and put on my uniform, I'll just sneak into the back of the school building. I know a place to go through the infirmary haha

 

I stepped out my house and locked the door, when I came to school I jumped off the wall from outside, the trees are helping me 'thank you trees I love you'. I silently went to the infirmary and YES! The head nurse isnt here! Yes! Yes yes! I'm freaking happy at the moment. I'll just have to wait for victims *evil laugh* and be absent to my first 3 classes for today.

 

I lay down the bed again, aiming to sleep I suddenly remembered the records.. I took the papers out my bag but then "damn it.. I'm too lazy for this.." I lay down again and said to myself "maybe later.." and continued my sleep.

"You ok?" My seatmate tried to call my attention since I was sleeping soundly in class. That's the first time I slept and the bad part is that I didn't damn noticed it. "m kay'" I said while fixing my glasses. Geez, I acted with incompetency! Such a shame I'm doing now.

 

After three periods, break time was going to start. I decided to go to the infirmary to grab some headache medicine. I don't like where this is going but that's only the place that could help, at least. I opened the door but what awaits me was a man slacking out of his service. --I should cancel his scholarship--tch* But no, I didn't let my personal feelings affect my judgement. I went to the medicine cabinet, searched for the pill and took it.

 

"Oi, having hungover huh?" I kicked the bed's leg to wake him up. I may let the punishment pass but I won't spare him from scolding.

"huh" one of my eyes opened my eye sight still is blurred. I sat down the bed with an irritated face "what in the-" but my senses suddenly awakened by seeing this 'no-fun-plus-boring-pretty-faced-guy'. I still am half asleep I guess, I feel as if I'm still sleeping. I blinked for a couple of times to realize reality from a dream. "ah! Tsuchi--" baaah too long... but I end up giving a nice name though "Tsu-kun" I scratched my head rejecting what I was thinking about and just said "yo, pretty face, why are you here? Did you miss me?" I said with a big smile.

 

Quiet atmosphere now. I saw you took a medicine from the cabinet "oh. You sick?" I asked while aiming to stand up. "you should atleast tell me" and I walked near you and whispered "I might have cured you before that medicine does" hmmm moves moves, I still feel dizzy. I lean a bit backwards and tried to concentrate on my own strength..

----Tsu-kun... The name resonated inside my ears. I'm at loss on how people calls me, earlier it was only Saito and now it's Tsu-kun.

 

As this boy was trying to seduce me, I yawned. Well who in a sane mind would give in to this seduction? "So you're still in wonderland, Higashi?" I admit I wanted to give him the lip and i'll do it now. "You shouldn't be laying down there. Since you're a working student you could at least help by arranging those records first." I pointed to the records pilling on the desk. "Besides, It won't hurt quiet a bit if you work your butt in exchange for having the school give you a scholarship, right?" Oh , he's not listening, I presume.

 

I massage my temple and slammed my hand on the wall beside him. "You should take your work seriously. Giving 'extra services' doesn't have any merits." I glared at him seriously. Enough with the nice guy, it's useless since it's not reaching him. "If you still want to continue this escapade, then prepare for the worst..." I stared at him seriously.

 

Silence broke inside the room, neither of us opened our mouths. "But I guess, Higashi-kun's a RESPONSIBLE student, isn't he." I smiled to him and removed my hand from the wall.

 

I walked away, leaving him off the scene. I can't believe it, I snapped in front of a brat.
