Now that he was thinking more about that, it felt too much to ask of one of his sisters. Even if it was in the family and the child will be well raised, it was wrong. And waiting so much time till he would be finally with Chase it was too much. It only had been a few weeks since he parted ways with Chase and he was already missing him a lot. He didn't want to think how would it be to wait for a few years. 

"You really want to get your ass kicked and don't know how to ask it, hugh?" he said laughing getting up and taking his fighting position. "I always accept a challenge. So which will it be? Sword fight or fist fight?" he said smirking eying his friend getting ready for the fight. Maybe he was going to get his ass kicked by his friend or maybe not. Honestly he wasn't sure anymore. For all the time he was out travelling the others probably had trained a lot and got better than him. He was getting rusty but he was going to change that. 

"Ladies first" he mocked the other laughing.

"If you insist" Winston didn't move a frown as he pulled out his sword. In combat he prefered the sword. Since he was more agile and quick on his feets. Winston were strong like every other dragon compared to a human. But nothing over the average in dragon terms. Winston wasn't a soldier but he was still pretty good after years of sparing with Leo and other whenever he had the time.

He jumped in and swung his sword with the flat side towards Leo. That was it wouldn't cut if it conected. 

 

Another week went by... and Another. Chase had tried to call the crystal to get a hold on Leo but it never conected. Instead he had gotten the chance to speak with his father again and ask how everything had been since he was sendt away.

The king had told him about how a few dragons had tried to take over. Lesly and his meathead of a brother had also been in on it. By tradition the king had been challenged by the uprasing. If the king had lost that would have meant Chase would have been ordered killed by any  new king. Since it was that persons right to ensure his seat by killing off the the previous King's bloodline..

Although Chase's father had end up winning anyway. The old blue giant had still ensure Chase would be safe even if thing had gone bad. "I've always doubted you'd liked the idear of taking over after me one day. So I thought that maybe if you saw your other inheritage from your mother's side. You would maybe choose to stay there.." the blue king had said with a sad look in his eyes. He didn't wish for Chase to part ways with him and go off on his own just yet. Chase was only 79 years old.. still his little sweet boy.

"I'm not gonna leave you father, I can't live with just humans who are still rather fearful of me. But I might not be living with you.. uh I'm think about what you told me. Me getting a mate. And I.. well me and prince Leo, I just can't see anyone other than him filling that spot. I wanna ask him to marry me in the futur."

The king looked to the side not sure if he should tell his son what he had found out and had talked with the other king about Leo and his son. The had suspected for quite some time but they weren't sure. Not until the other king told him what his son had said and now Chase was saying the same. But letting them be together would mean an end to heir line on both sides. Not to mention that the other king had told him that he will try and persuade Leo into marrying a princess. 

"My son ... I believe that you should forget about prince Leo" he said trying not to sound to harsh in saying him this. "I don't know how to tell you this but .... prince Leo is to be betroth to a princess in order to conceive an heir. And so should you" he said sighing heavy. "From what i spoke with the other king, they have started looking for a princess for him" he added feeling sorry for giving his son the news. From his calls with the king, the man didn't said much more than that. 

 

 

Leo was exhausted from dealing with his fathers stubbornness of getting married with a princess. He had forced him in to meet with different girls from different kingdoms , different kind of dragon breeds but he didn't want any of them. All he wanted was one type of dragon and he was going to drive every girl away from him. That day was the sixth one his father had arrange to meet and he managed to make her leave in less than 10 minutes. 

He needed a break , so he decided to stay on the training grounds with the others, just monitoring everyone but he was more absent than ever. Leaning on a tree he tried to calm his nerves and hopped that he would be able to see Chase some day soon as he missed him so fucking much. 

"Wondering what he's doing. Is he okay? Is he safe? did he return home? God how i want to see him and talk to him" he was mumbling to himself closing his eyes, sighing. 

[M-jow]

"..." Chase's smile faded as he looked into the crystal at the image of his father. The words echoed in his mind lime a broken record.

~'prince Leo is to be betroth to a princess in order to conceive an heir'~

His eyes stared blank bare of any feelings as he spoke again. "He will not go through with it. I know he wouldn't and neither will I. I thought you knew better that anyone that I don't plan on fathering any children. Of coures Leo will need to. But he.. wouldn't leave me." His face was hard and cold. He felt num and lifeless.

Leo loved him. He had told him so, and Chase wanted to belive that wouldn't change. The prince's face sofened a bit. He looked sad and tired. He had been sleeping badly ever since Leo had left. Like he couldn't find peace within himself. And all this work and meetings with the humans was wearing him thin. Each day he thought about going to see  Leo. But even in dragon form it would take him the entire night to fly there. He would gladly have done it if not for the fact that it would only work against him. The humans would be sceptical about him and if it effected the weak war break he had been trying so hard to end, Leo's kingdom would have more work on tjeif hands.

"I.. love him Father" Chase swallowed hard as the words left his lips. His body felt cold and heavy. He missed having Leo there to hold him in his arms and melt all the troubles away.

The king sigh feeling sad for his beloved child and not liking to see him suffer. He understood him to well and how he felt but he got lucky, his son apparently not so much, Hearing him say he wouldn't want children of his own made him even sadder. That meant that the kingdom will end after Chase would rule it. The line would end with him. He knew that there was a rare possibility but that didn't happened in thousand of years. Everything that heard of it knew it was a legend.

"I.. love him Father"

"I know son .... that was my biggest fear but i knew better and there wasn't much to do about it but .... I hope he does too " he added taking a deep breath looking at his son's image through the crystal. There wasn't much he could do to change what the other king had in mind. They had talked all this time the boys were gone and hopped for an alliance but he didn't say a word about it. 

"Please come home as soon as you can son" he said missing his son so much. "Stay safe" he said nodding his head , ending the call. 

 

 

Leo's father had called him again in the throne chamber to talk with him about the dates he had gone with and hear what he decided. He hopped his son would had lost the idea of prince Chase and hopefully found a young lady he would marry and rule the kingdom with. He was though afraid of his stubbornness. For the pass days he heard the crystal ringing and saw the prince image but he didn't answered not wanting to let them see eachother. He was thinking that this was just a fling like he used to always have on things. But if his son was indeed going to go against his wish then what could he do? Leo was his only son, the heir to the throne. Yes, he had the girls and the line would go further with the next in line, but he wanted grandchildren from Leo as well. He wanted a family for his son. 

"Honey, why are you frowning?" asked the queen when she stepped in the chamber. "Are you still trying to figure out ways of how to force Leo into things? Didn't you already got used to him? Nothing you force him to do will work. And he really looks like he's serious this time" said the Queen sighing then kissing his cheek. "You want his happiness and so does he. Let him be happy" she whispered before the doors opened and Leo entered then she left the room through a different door. 

"You called for me father" he said simple not showing any emotion.

Chase simply nodded. He knew Leo did love him. But it still shook a bit inside of Chase because he missed him. At least he was glad his father was so understanding. The king had went against all when he had fallen for Chase's human mother. Although Chase had never known her, he had a close bond to his father. It had felt like it would always be just the two. But now that Chase had found someone he wanted to share his life with. He felt guilty for being there less for his father. But also thankfull the king was on Chase's side in this.

He didn't say it often but the king knew how much Chase idolised and loved him.

"I will Father" Chase replied to the king's farvel just before the crystal went out.

Chase pu the crystal away and folded his hands in his lap. He would haft to do better.. it would take time and be rough but Chase would see this through. He would end the war and help bring peace. He would make it so no one would be able to say anything for when he took Leo for his own. He wished he could speak with Leo about the things there was happening at his end. And about the thing.. it trobbed in his chest painfully, when he thought about Leo looking at someone else. With that exact look Leo only showed when their eyes locked. He wanted to clear his mind about that so he would just have to not think about it.

(I think this will be the last from Chase side until they two years after the war ends)

 

(I don't really know what to make the king do but I'll try ^^)

The king knew deep down that his wife was right. They both wanted their son to be happy. But for that happiness to form the prince needed to stop being so stuborn and let go of his puppy-dog-love towards Chase. The denied calls between the two had been to make Leo realize that what he felt for the prince wasn't love, but more physical attraction.

"I heard a few of the young ladies whom has visit you left in a hurry after. Lots of them even felt threaten or ignored.. if you don't like them, then so be it. But you will haft to treat those girls like the noble ladies they are! Or your reputation within the social circles will start to look bad, and you'll lose support." The king's hand shook with anger as he looked at his son so disstressed.

"If you must then have man in you bed then haft it. Just marry and make children that is all i ask.. why can't you see it's for the bedst for your sake!?"

"Then you have selected a bunch of liars. I never threaten any of them and didn't ignored them. I did tried to keep the interaction but they got boring and i just couldn't at some point. But i was never disrespectful" he frowned looking at his father not believing what he was hearing. He always was a gentleman with the ladies. Even what he didn't liked it he managed to be diplomatic and act like a gentleman. How could his father say something like that.

"And why can't you understand that this is not just a phase and i don't want just any man in my bed. I love him father and that will never change. No matter what you say or make me do. They would carry the bloodline. But as for me, I don't care if I may never have kids, as long as i'm with the person that i love" he added keeping his head high, defying his father. 

If his father was going to deny him again, he was going to escape the castle and either go find Chase or fly to the Skyland and talk with his father and stay there.

The king was utterly lost as he sat back and sighed. He didn't wanna fight a youngling about who he could and could not marry. Especially when that youngling was of his own blood... "(sigh)... Just who do you take after? No matter what I can't let you marry a man. Prince Chase is a good man and I respect him as I do his father the king. But the only way I'll let you marry is if you can make an heir of your own. If you marry the prince as your futur king consort. You'll haft to take a mistress. Only if you promise me that I'll give you my blessing"

Leo cursed in whisper not understanding his fathers obsession with heirs from his side. Why did he wanted him in particular to have children? Because he was the first born? and the male heir? Fuck it! He would give everything up if it would mean he could be with Chase. But wait ... he wants a child from me ... no matter how ... maybe if i can lie to him that what he wants will eventually happen, just to get him off his back and take Chase in the end .... fuck, the old man is hard to read and to fool 

His mind was rushing in million of pieces, but didn't had an answer. which only meant the single clever answer. 

"I'll think about it and will give back the answer" he said frowning as he dismissed himself turning back on the training grounds, finding his friend. 

"Winston ... Fight .... NOW!" he said taking the sword and getting in position. 

 

"I really don't understand the old mans obsession with me having children ... Why do i need to have ...." he said while fighting, swing his sword left to right and then front attack but Winston was fast and caught and blocked his attack. 

"He wants me to take a mistress. Can you believe that? Like i can fuck someone else besides .... FUCK!" he swinged his sword to angry and was almost cut by Winstons sword. 

 

(we can add here the idea of male dragons can reproduce too. like its a legend, old stories from their ancestors)

Winston was just casual talking with some of the trainiss when the Prince came stomping across the arena and called out in total caveman style.

He exused himself still with his back to Leo as the prince jumped at him with his sword out.

Winston stepped to the side just before the blade would have hit him and douche as it cam again. Leo wasn't keeping his head clear and had many openings for Winston to take advantage of.

He listened to Leo as he fought back. But he let Leo be the one to do the attacking. He couldn't openly be caught bad mouthing a king and he also didn't personale have a problem like Leo had with him.

"You could take a mistress in name without touching her, just to let you marry your prince. When you are marriged and had the mating ceremony nothing can break you appart... and who knows.. maybe you guys will be blessed with a child. In ancient times males could reproduce amongst themselves. You know the stories just as well as I do. Just because it hadn't happened in more than 100.000 years dosen't mean is totalt 0% change." Winston spoke out the idea with incurrentment of the rar chance of male pregancy.

Hearing that Leo stopped in confusion not sure if he understood correctly. They could bare children? What? 

"What did you say?"

Leo's eyes widened as his friend kept talking. "HOLY SHIT DUDE!! You're a GENIUS!" he said throwing away his sword and hugging his friend tightly. 

"I totally forgot about that. But ... the old man would not buy it but still .... this could work. Haha"  he said laughing happy. "Thanks man. I owe you one. Now i have to go" he said turning to take his sword from the ground and running to the castle , to check the libraries about this legends. If his old man would scoff or anything he would have a background check. 

Later that day, at the dinner he decided it was time to talk. 

"Father ... i've been thinking what you said and .... I'll accept your condition to marry prince Chase" he said looking at his plate and then back at his father. "Do we have a deal?" 

[M-jow]

"Okay.. what?" Winston stared choked at the prince. He had only talked about it to smoothen Leo's mood but now. By the enthusiastic way he looked. Winston couldn't help but feel a little trouble of his own words.

"Wait Leo!" Winston tried to get in contact with the prince but he was to caught up in his own thoughts and ran too quickly to hear him.

What had he just said again? Leo hadn't really considered he could do something no one had been able too since ancient times.. right. The male groaned in frustration.. well Leo was smart enough to not try and have everything depending on it... he really hoped so.

 

At the long dinner table were both the king at the head of the table. The Queen on the king's left. And the two prinsesses beside her (can't remember their nams). Leo was as usal by the king's right.

When Leo spoke, everyone looked up at him.

The youngst sat with her knif half cut through a carrots their mother had told her to eat. She instantly so her chance and while neither the Queen or king saw she put it under the table and away from her plate.

"What! are you getting marriged big brother??" The olderst sisters asked exited but the Queen asked her to quiet down so Leo and the king could talk.

The king chewed the rest of the food he had left in his mouth as he looked Leo. He wasn't really sure if Leo was some how just trying to trick him, or it the boy finally had come around. "The entire condition?" He asked. His eyes narrowed a bit as they did when he tried to figure out if the lords were trying to get smart with him.

"You can marry whom ever you want as long as you promise me that one thing. If you are sure you can do it come to my office after dinner and we'll write an oath"

"Geo!" The Queen frowned at the king. He was taking it too far.

An oath was a promise between two persons enhanced with strong magic. The promise couldn't be broken unless the promise had been uphold and done with. If the promise wasn't kept. The person in the wrong end would suffer mentally. In wors cases become made.

"A marriged is binding for our kind, but we can lie, since words don't count in this matter. If Leo make an oath with me I'll give him my blessing to marry when the war has officially ended. Which by my sources shouldn't be for much longer" the king said and looked back at his son. He clearly wasn't gonna let Leo take he words back once he got what he wanted.

Leo smiled at his older sister but it wasn't his actual smile. He was hopping to get married with the person he wanted. When his father spoke about the oath that did surprised him. Those kind of oaths were made only in crisis matters and between states. Never done between direct people knowing the effects it had if one was breaking the oath. Taking a deep breath he kept his fathers eyes and nodded. 

"Very well father. Deal" he said turning his attention to his plate trying to eat further. On one hand he was happy that he was going to be able to marry Chase. Even with the cost of getting mad at the end for not fulfilling the oath. He was believing blindly in a legend that he wasn't even sure it was true anymore, and was risking his state of mind. All because his father was too stubborn to accept the fact that he didn't want children. But he was to sacrifice everything just to be with Chase. He was the one for him and he was not going to let this break them apart. He could talk with Chase and explain everything and maybe he would take a mistress, even if he didn't liked the idea of it.. But in the end it was just sex. Just part of the conceiving. Maybe Chase wasn't going to accept that idea, but he would understand that it was the only way to be together. 

The rest of the dinner was silent and after they were done, Leo walked to his father's office ready to make the oath. 

Entering the room, he kept his cool and sat on the chair in front of the desk. 

"Ready when you are father" he said firmly.

The king had hoped that by meantioning an oath Leo would starte to think about this more seriously. Now he wasn't really sure if he really should go through with this. He hadn't planed anything ahead, since he hadn't expected Leo would agree to it by how against it he was. He wouldn't wanna bring his son in any harm.. but this way Leo would surely not trick him.

 

The rest of the meal was hard to go through. The air was tens and the Queen kept glaring back at her husband.

The king exused himself first from the table and headed to his office. He went through the rar oath papirs as he reconsidered it again.

Leo soon joinded him.

After writing the oath the king held it to Leo so the prince could inspect and sign it with a drop of his blood, if he agreed. After that there wasn't anymore reason for Leo to stay. Once the king had signed the oath would light up in flams and burn to nothing. Making the oath completed.

The king let Leo be the first one to do it.

Leo snort in amusement by his father's words but this was showing him that he was being serious about everything and that he knew what the oath meant if it was broken. He wasn't afraid. He was taking responsibility for his actions and for the way he felt, and he wasn't going to back down and lose his loved one. He was afraid that if he might have done so, and had a child with someone else he married, he would hate that child for being the reason he wasn't happy. And he didn't want that. 

He stepped closer watching his father writing the clause of the oath and giving the paper for him to read.

Taking a deep breath he placed the paper on the desk  after he read it and took the knife from his boot out and cut his palm, letting the drops to fall on the paper. This was going to happen no matter what.  

"You're turn father" he said placing a handkerchief on his wound till it was going to heal, looking at his father and the piece of paper on the desk. He wasn't going to be fooled. He was too damn serious about this and he was going to do anything for love.

The king took the papir back. He looked at the red blood stain. He felt hesitant but Leo were watching him closely. He couldn't back out now. It woud be hurting both of theirs pride.

Leo's father pulled a little knif out of his drawer and cut his thumb. Then pressed it down on the papir besides Leo's.

Once he pulled his hand back the papir ignited on the table. The short bright flame ate the papir in 2 seconds without leaving a burn on the wooden desk.

"It is done" the king said. Suprisingly not finding any pleasur in his win.

"Now.. I suppose you will be asking the sky king's permission to court his son.. I wish you good luck son" the king knew he wasn't in a position to be on good terms with Leo but since Leo had gone this far. He truely wished the rest would be easier and hopfully. Make Leo as happy as he dreamed of being.

Leo did noticed his father's hesitation but he wasn't sure what to think of it. Seeing him take the knife and drop the blood on the paper did gave him hope that he was going to keep his promise as he was going to try and do the same.

"I'll take my leave tomorrow then" he said bowing his head, turning to go in his room to bandage his hand in order to heal faster. 

The day went by rather quickly and he was also super nervous in the morning when he had to leave. Right before sunrise he got up, did his routine and then walked outside the palace breathing in the cold air of the morning. 

"This is it" he thought right before turning into his dragon form and taking his way off to the Skyland to meet Chase's father. The flight was a little longer than he reminded of, maybe because he had trouble remembering the right way to it, but soon he reached the kingdom, keeping his dragon form. 

A pair of guards stopped him before entering the palace, keeping him on the spot. 

"I'm here to talk with the king in term of a marriage. Please let him know that Prince Leo is here to meet him" he said firmly keeping his eyes on the guards, as he needed to be cautious.

The guards looked at Leo like he was crazy. Of coures the fact that the king were in contact with landers weren't known to other to keep Chase protected. Only a very few knew.

It took a bit before the guards decided that they should report to the king just in case.

No one had to go, as they mind linked the king of an uninvited guest. But looked back at Leo as they were asked to describe the prince.

"Um red my lord.. red and small with skin wings" the guard summed up with no shame in saying that.

The other told Leo. "The king will see you" the guard shook his head. "Why I don't get" he continue. "Follow me"

The guard lead ahead towards the Island in the sky. They entered a huge scare at the bottom and was suddenly inside a huge hallway fit to hold multiple dragons. The pillers holding the rock celling were huge even i dragon form. There were no pantings or other decorations just shiny rock and clear cut walls. It was a rough beautiful castle made for dragons.

The hallway continue on for quit a bit. Almost to long to walk on human legs. There were lots of rooms and passages along the way. Some other dragon swam them and turned their long necks as Leo walked by and whispered to eachother.

'Uffe if I were that ugly I would have strangled myself' one dragon whispered to his friend.

'Since when does the king let strangers in. If they are at war again let them kill themself and spar us the humiliation'

Leo's dragon stood out so painfully. Everyone else looked more like Chase with their soft colors and feathered wings.

 

When they reached the throne room another set of two hug twin dragons guarded the door. They were at less two heads bigger that anyone else. The twims didn't say anything as they opened the door and Leo enter. The guard who had shown Leo the was stayed outside as the doors closed again.

"Greetings Prince Leo. I would lie if I said it was an suprise to see you. And with what you told my guards I'll say it about time" the enormous blue dragon king said as he lowered his head to get a better look at Leo. The person his son were so hopeless in love with.

The description didn't bothered him, they were different breeds of dragons, but then again, they could have said just his name and he would know who he was. Shaking his head he fallowed the guard that liked to comment a lot apparently, but it seemed that that was something everyone here was doing. No wonder Chase disliked it here so much. Having all those bad mouths around would make everyone want to run away. 

Once he was left inside the room with the king and got closer he bowed his head and frowned a little confused at what the king was saying. 

"I'm sorry sir? You're not surprised to see me here ...." the last part was a statement from what the king had said thinking that he heard wrong. "So ... Were you expecting me ?" he really was confused now.

The dragons chuckled as the young prince's confused looks. "No.. I didn't know if you or Chase would come first." The king said without revealing much. Keeping what he knew a secret.

"So why are you here young prince?"

Again Leo was confused from the man. What did he mean about him or Chase arriving? Was Chase supposed to come home? Why was he returning? Was the war really over? Done? Shaking his head to clear his mind he mend his voice as he continued.

"I would like to ask Chase's hand in marriage and get your blessing for it" he said kneeling down and bowing his head , waiting for his reaction. The wait was the hard part as his heart was racing in his chest not sure if the other king was foing to accept it or not. Not sure if he had to persue him too like he did his father. Thinking of his father he remembered the oath they made. What would happen if the king would accept? Would he become insane for not fulfilling his promised? Would he then be forced to marry someone his father would want? He wouldnt care actually. He would be miserable.

How has it been since he said why he was there. Did the king respond and he didnt heard it? Fuck. Lifting his head he looked at the man.

"My lord?"

The dragon king was looking at Leo with a bored expression. His hand resting on his cheek.

"Well that was quite boring" he said out flat. He lifted his head and shrugged. "You do keep the tradition I'll give you that though..." then something else happened. The dragon king started to shrink.

He had spots on him with blue scales and his eyes stayed the same gold as his dragon form. His face were half scales a cross his eyes and over his right eye he had a scare. In face the man had lots of them all over his body. He looked like a warrior and was well fit for a dragon in his age.

He was naked after transforming but his cock wasn't hanging out like one would expect. In fact there were nothing between the king's legs aside form blue scales.

"Tell me prince Leo why you want my son?.. as a face I only want my child to be happy and loved by his mate. But as king it put me in a difficult position." The king said as he looked at Leo now from a driffrent perspective. "Do you love my son? And if so.. what do you plan to do? Will you take him with you? Or would you leave your crown to move to this place if that is what Chase wants?"

"What do you mean? Of course I love him. Why would I otherwise be here?" he frowned not believing that he had to convince this guy as well. Why did they have to go through all this just to be together. It was just not fair. Fuck. He was starting to hate this royalty shit already. 

"If that's what Chase wants then yes" he said firmly closing his eyes as he started to change back to his human form , leaving only his dragon eyes on display. His lower part, unfortunately, he didn't had the same mastery to keep it scales but he covered himself with his hands, keeping his head high. 

"I really don't care where i am as long as we are together sir" he added keeping his eyes on the king, not letting him intimidate him. He was too stubborn to back down. He had made the deal with his father and he was going to be with Chase as they had promised before. 

"To be honest, my king ... I decide it to make it traditional, but in the end is Chase who will make the call of what he wants. I know royalty is important, but for me .... more important is Chase" he added eying the king, showing him that he was telling the truth and was holding his ground against him.

The blue king's gace sofened and his face cracked in a hint of a smile. "You don't have to feel you need to go through me to be with my son. I know how much you mean to Chase. And I know his place isn't here with me. Eventhough I more than anything wanted him to just stay. I know his heart wouldn't be with neither me or this place... " the king sighed as he said that. He had more than once woken from nightmares with a real fear in him. Often he would see Chase's cold death body before him and wake up sweating with a weird sense, where he was unsure it had been real or not.

Chase wasn't suppose to enheired him. The blue king knew the prince couldn't affort to trust any of the other lords or dragons.  Not like how he the king could trust some of them. Chase had never fit in because of his human mother. As much as it saddened the king, it was the truth. If Chase stayed he would never be happy and the king would surely be buring his son.

"I wanted you to promise me to take Chase back with you. Make my son happy. That is all I demant in return for my blessing" the king said smiling eventhough his eyes looked sad.
