[Guest Kotorichan]

"The courtyard sounds lovely." Ceries smiled and lightly snuggled up to Vaughn's side, wanting to make the most of their time alone. "Ah... Before we go I wanted to ask you something..."

He hesitated before gently taking Vaughn's hand. "Do you... Still want to have our promise ceremony..?" He asked softly, his cheeks flushing.

Vaughn nodded, happy to go wherever... especially with Ceries so close!

 

He blinked at the next question, looking down at him. The smile reappeared, wider than before. “Of course I do. Why?” Had.... had Ceries changed his mind? “We don’t have to....” he quickly added.

"I want to!" Ceries said quickly. "I just..." He looked away. "I wanted to make sure you hadn't changed your mind about wanting to be with me..." He murmured. "I was going to ask if you could arrange for a time I could meet with a jeweler who makes those shifter bracelets... And also for someone who can pierce my ears. You can tell them that I want it for my coronation ceremony... And that I want to make your service to me more official once I'm king."

Vaughn blinked at that but soon smiled. It seemed Ceries had really been giving this some thought! “Do I have permission to go to town after our walk? I’ll arrange everything then.....” he offered, “I’ll request the jeweller comes to you, tomorrow perhaps?”

 

Ceries was too sweet! “Is there a particular colour or type of earring you’d like?” He asked nervously. “They might need to pierce your ears with them.... I might not be able to give them too you during our.... ceremony.” He smiled. “If that’s okay with you?”

"Tommorow would be lovely." Ceries smiled up at him, his cheeks flushed deeply. "I'm looking forward to it."

"Whatever you think would look nice on me." He laughed softly. "Something that you think would make me think of you."

"We could have the ceremony before my ears are pierced?" He suggested. "Ah, and is there a certain color or style you would like for your bracelet?"

He nodded. “Okay. Once we’ve got what we need and completed the ceremony I’ll arrange the piercer to come.” He smiled. Wanting to kiss him but resisting! “When? When shall we do it?”

 

Vaughn shook his head. “Whatever you like. I’ll like. Just knowing you picked it.”

"I want to do it as soon as possible." Ceries admitted, his cheeks flushing deeply. "I guess it depends when everything is ready." He leaned up and caught Vaughn's lips in a quick kiss before pulling away from him. "We should head out, otherwise I'm not going to be able to stop thinking about it..."

Vaughn nodded. As soon as possible. That seemed nice. Typically a couple might copulate afterwards... but Vaughn wasn’t sure they would.

 

He didn’t bring it up. Instead he smiled and nodded. “Of course, my Prince.” He winked, opening the door and leading the other man out.

Ceries made his way out the room and headed down to the courtyard. Once they were outside he stretched his wings out and tilted his head back to let the sun hit his face.

“Why don’t you have a little flutter. It’s should be completely safe here.” He offered.

 

His eyes shine tenderly towards the other man.

Ceries smiled brightly at the suggestion. "Ah, really?" He didn't wait for a response before starting to flag his wings. "Thank you."

He took off into the air, once again happily circling and swooping above the man.

Vaughn just stood, smiling and watching him. He really would have to insist that Ceries flew more! Practised more! Did more! He looked so much calmer right now. It was lovely to see.

 

If only he could bottle this moment forever.

Ceries flew around for a few minutes before landing in front of the man, smiling brightly. His momentum almost took him right into the man's arms but he managed to stop himself. "Thank you Vaughn" he hummed, resisting the urge to hug the man.

He shook his head, “as your guard it is my duty to ensure your happiness, your highness. If you wish to fly, we will discover ways you can do so.” He said honestly.

[Guest Kotorichan]

"I know, I'm still grateful that you go out of your way to remind me to do these things." Ceries stretched his wings out one more time, allowing his feathers to brush against Vaughn, before folding them up. "I suppose I should get back to work. Will you escort me to my office?"

Vaughn smiled and nodded, “of course, your highness.”

 

He lead the way, holding the door open for him. “If you don’t mind, your highness, I’ll leave you here for now. I have errands to complete in town.” Errands they both knew!

"Ah, of course." Ceries smiled at him, he was hoping to get one more kiss before the man let but it seemed like that wouldn't be possible. He would just have to wait until he returned.

"Please stop by again when you return." He requested, heading over to sit at his desk.

Vaughn smiled. “Of course, your highness.” He was just to giddy and excited! He wanted to put things in place.... he hadn’t thought about steal one more kiss!

 

“Don’t work too hard.” He winked and headed to town, stopping first at his room to pick up some coin. He wanted to spoil Ceries. He might not earn what a Prince did but he’d make sure they were pretty.

Ceries blushed softly at the wink and smiled up at the man. He was so relieved that Vaughn still wanted to go through with it. He had been worried that he would be having second thoughts, but he seemed just as excited about the idea!

He went back to focusing on his work, completely obvious to his surroundings.

Three hours later

 

Vaughn has a very special box in his pocket. He’d arranged lots of things and felt rather proud of his achievements so far! The shifter jeweller seemed excited, but likely because he thought he was going to get a big pay cheque.... maybe he was?

 

He headed back to Ceries. Whispers around him gave him pause. The other Prince was near! He jogged down the corridors to the Prince, knocking gently. “Your highness? It’s Vaughn....” was that giddiness in his time?

Ceries hadn't taken any breaks since Vaughn had left. He looked up at the sound of the man's voice and smiled brightly. "Ah, you may enter." He called out, trying to hide his excitement to see the man again in case someone else was near the door.

Vaughn headed inside, closing the door behind him. “Everything’s arranged. The jeweller is coming at ten tomorrow and....” he pat his pocket. “Someone will come to pierce your ears when I confirm the date.” He chuckled playfully. Heading over and kissing his cheek.

 

“Your friend is nearly here. The servants are preparing to greet him. Shall we go meet him?” He nosed his cheek and kissed him.

Ceries rose to his feet and shut the curtains before hurrying to Vaughn, snuggling up to the man's chest. "Thank you Vaughn." He smiled up at the man. "I can't wait to see what you chose for me." He leaned up into his touch, cooing happily.

"Yes... I've finished everything that has to be done today." He happily kissed him back, lightly resting his hands on the man's chest. He hated that it felt like there was some part of him that wanted to drop to his knees for the man. His body was aching to be touched and he just had to keep pushing that desire down.

"Where should I meet him..?" He didn't want to have to go back to the throne room, it made him miss his father too much. But he knew that was probably the most appropriate place to greet his guest.

“Not yet. I want it to be a surprise.” Vaughn really hoped the other liked them. “If they’re not your cup of tea I can exchange them for you.” He might be sad at that, he’d spent over an hour just mulling over his options! The man in the store had been incredibly patient with him... all things considered!

 

Vaughn liked the kisses. They felt right.... he just wish that being more intimate together felt just as right. But it seemed Brenton had corrupted them both and Vaughn’s heart aches with that knowledge!

 

“Let’s meet him at the entrance. I’m sure he’d like to see you after climbing the steps? You’re old friends. No reason to be too formal.” He offered gently. “Unless you prefer the throne? I can have him directed there?”

"I'm sure I'll love them." Ceries smiled up at the man. "You were the one who picked them out for me afterall."

His smile faltered at the mention of the throne room and he quickly shook his head. "I would rather meet him at the entrance... Being in the throne room without father is still difficult..." He leaned into Vaughn's chest for a moment. "I know I'll have to get used to being in there... Just not today..."

He took a deep breath and pulled away, forcing a slight smile. "Let's head to the entrance for now."
