[Guest Kotorichan]

Ceries wrapped his arms around Vaughn's shoulders, clinging to the man. "F-fluffy will do anything he says... I don't know how to control him, I couldn't even force him to take over before you came in."

Vaughn frowned. There had to be more to these personalities! There had to be.

 

“Shush now. Don’t fret.” He hummed gently. “Fluffy belongs to Brenton. We know that. Fluffy probably even enjoyed some of what Brenton did. But that won’t prevent us from finding a slice of happiness together. Have faith in us, Ceries.”

"I thought that was true... I thought that Fluffy could keep Brenton happy and you and I could be together... B-but I don't think Brenton will allow that to happen." Ceries clung to him. "He wants to break me... He told Fluffy that he wants me to be broken, he won't be satisfied until I'm just like Fluffy or until I disappear..."

Vaughn frowned at that, holding him a moment. “I won’t let him break you. I won’t.” He’d never let it happen. But his was he to stop it!?

 

“Lie back. Let me care for you.” He was desperate to do something!

Ceries took a shaky breath and released Vaughn's shoulders. He lay back against his pillows, trying to force himself to breath deeply.

He slowly managed to calm his breathing. "Will you stay with me until the morning?" He asked softly.

Vaughn carefully began to clean Ceries body.

 

He was thoughtful before replying. “Of course. I’d be honoured to stay. As long as it doesn’t make things harder on you.” He admits, smiling shyly. “I’m sorry...” he shifted his leg a little. “I have.... to do here too.” It looked sore and super tender to Vaughn. Was that a little blood too? His anger towards Brenton only seemed to grow!

"I'll deal with whatever happens later... I just want to be with you." Ceries looked away as his legs were parted, his cheeks flushed deeply. He sucked in a sharp breath as his tender flesh was cleaned, his eyes beginning to water in pain.

“I’m sorry, Ceries.” He said honestly. Being as quick as he could be before slowly applying the healing cream. Inside and out. “I’m hoping that helps? I’m done for now. I’m sorry.”

 

He bit back his own anguished cry as he carefully tucked Ceries into bed. “There. I hope that’s a little better.” Vaughn tried to smile. “Want mr as a cat to cuddle with?”

Ceries covered his face with his arms as Vaughn applied the ointment, unable to hold back the silent tears. He shut his legs tightly and curled up into a ball when the man finished.

He sniffed softly and looked up at the suggestion. "If you wouldn't mind..."

Vaughn smiled sadly and shifted. No words were needed as he shifted and snuggled beside him on the bed.

 

My mate is in pain and there’s nothing I can do about it. It broke his heart!

Ceries snuggled up to him, gently stroking the man's fur. He closed his eyes and slowly relaxed, draping a wing over Vaughn's body. "I love you..." He murmured. "Thank you."

I love you too. He purred softly, trying to answer him. He licked the guys cheek and nuzzled him. Tail moving to sit over him as he wanted him to sleep well.

 

Vaughn was determined to find a way to destroy Brenton! He had to do something.

Ceries smiled sadly and drifted to sleep. He a few times during the night he started whimpering fearfully as he had nightmares about Brenton, but he didn't wake up from them.

Vaughn slept very lightly. Every noise and whimper woke him. By morning he was wrapped around Ceries like the walls of a nest.

 

He wasn’t well rested. His heart hurt. His mind ached. He felt rather dejected by everything!

 

Vaughn had once more failed in his mission to protect his mate and Prince!

Ceries awoke at his usual time, his entire body was aching. He leaned into Vaughn's touch, unable to hold back a soft whimper of pain. He didn't even want to think about facing Brenton at breakfast, let alone what the man might do to him next time they were alone.

Vaughn slowly woke. Stretching he looked at his precious Prince. He couldn’t talk in this form so just moved his eight tails to cover him like a blanket. As if to say; You’re safe. and I’ve got you!

Ceries snuggled into his touch, taking a shaky breath. He lay still for a few minutes, just savoring Vaughn's company.

"I don't know if I can walk right now..." He finally admitted. "My body hurts so much..."

Vaughn frowned at that, he licked his face and purred a little.

 

Eventually he shifted. “Then you won’t. I’ll run you a bath. You’ll take breakfast here. If you want to speak with Advyk it will happen here.”

 

Vaughn watched him. “I’ll apply the ointment again too.” The sadness was strong in his eyes.

Ceries nuzzled into his touch. "Thank you..." He murmured. The sadness in Vaughn's gaze made his chest hurt. "I think a soak in the bath will help..." He lightly touched the man's cheek. "I'll be alright... Thank you for stopping him." He leaned up and caught the man's lips in a gentle kiss.

Vaughn kissed him back, but he felt broken. “I couldn’t stop it all though.”

 

He hated this! Hated it all.

 

Climbing from the bed he started to run him a bath. His body was practically vibrating with his unruly emotions.

"Vaughn..." Ceries frowned deeply at the man's words. He climbed out of bed, his legs shaking from the effort, and followed him to the bathroom. He lightly wrapped his arms around the man, leaning against his back.

"Fluffy wouldn't have let you stop him any earlier..." He murmured. "You did everything you could..."

Vaughn froze when he felt Ceries hug him from behind. He moved a hand to stroke Ceries fingers tentatively. “I wish I could do more....”

 

He closed his eyes. Tears threatening to spill. “And I know Fluffy seems to enjoy it. Surrenders to it. But I want to protect all of you. Not just one part.”

[Guest Kotorichan]

Ceries rested his cheek against the man's back. "I know you do... And you're doing better than anyone else possibly could..." He assured the man. "Please remember that it helps me to just have you by my side."

Vaughn couldn’t help the silent tears that fell. He lowered his head and squeezed Ceries’ hand. “I love you.”

 

It was so true. He felt those three words all the way to his very soul!

 

“I wish I could do more. But hd my presence is all you require. You will have it gladly and willingly.” Vaughn meant it too. Turning he looked at the Prince. “Come. Let’s get you in the bath. Do you need help?”

"I love you too Vaughn..." Ceries squeezed his hand back, his chest ached. "I'm sorry things have to be like this..."

He smiled sadly, maybe it really would be best if Vaughn just forgot him. "I think I'll be alright..." He slipped off his robe and stepped into the tub, whimpering softly as he lowered his sore body into the water. "Y-you should go tell Brenton and Advyk not to wait for me..."
