Sebastian just listened. His mind soft and open though there was a touch of empathy there.

 

Slowly he nodded. “Yes. I have been chained to the bed. Only really in the beginning when I tried to fight back.... once I.... gave in it was only when your father got turned on at the idea. I didn’t fight him.” He shrugged. That has been a horrible two weeks of no food and only forced to drink alcohol..... Sebastian had been too weak to do much after that.

 

“No one is going to chain you here, Veryn.” Seb stroked his cheek. “You don’t have to chain anyone either.”

 

He looked around the room. I hate this room. “It’s fine. Don’t worry about it.”

Veryn had heard the man's thoughts, exactly what his father had done to Sebastian. His skin began to grow hotter and his eyes took on a reddish tint. "That bastard..." He growled. "If he wasn't already dead..." Sparks flew as he grit his teeth together. He had never been so angry. To know that his own blood had done something so horrible to the man he loved... It made him wish that he could burn the entire manor down.

"How long would it take to have completely different rooms prepared?" He asked, not noticing the changes again.

Sebastian blinked. He really needed to be careful what he thought.....

 

“Oh... eh.... not long? There are likely other guest rooms already set up.” He offered gently. “Horus would know. He’d do it immediately.” He cleared his throat. Not wanting to say too much.

Veryn shut his eyes for a moment, trying to calm down. He could feel that he was making the other man uncomfortable. "I'm sorry..." He murmured, his skin once again slowly returning to normal. "I just don't want to stay in a room that brings back painful memories for you..."

He opened his eyes and gave the man a sad smile. "I'll talk to Horus tomorrow... I'll just say that this room isn't to my liking or something, but that I still want to keep you close." He lightly touched Sebastian's cheek.

Sebastian was taken aback by this gentleness. No ones ever treated me like Veryn is..... like I’m equal. He blushed at his thoughts and looked down.

 

“Okay. You don’t need to worry about me though. I’ve slept next door for more than a hundred years without much trouble.” He offered carefully. “You’re the Master. Horus will do as you want.” Though he’ll try putting me in a strange direction and in the smallest space he can. Good job I don’t care.

Veryn frowned slightly. "Sebastian... I do think of you as an equal... I'm no more important than you just because of who my father was..." He lightly stroked the man's cheek. "I know you may not believe that, but I'll never think I'm better than you."

"I want you to be comfortable. Just because you can handle staying in that room doesn't mean it's making you happy." He lightly kissed his forehead. "I'll make sure you get a nice new room" he promised.

Sebastian blinked a moment then laughed as he covered Veryn’s mouth. “I think you’re going to have to start practising when I’m speaking and when I’m thinking.” He flushed. But thank you. I do appreciate the sentiment.

 

He took a deep breath, unable to stop himself from looking to the candle that opened the door way. What would it be like? Never going back there? Strange.

 

He blinked, shaking his head before looking away. “Just remember. You are not my equal in the eyes of.... everyone but you, apparently.” He cleared his throat. “But this is your house now. You can redecorate, reorder, hell! You could knock all the wall downs if you wanted.”

"Ah... I'm sorry..." Veryn blushed softly. "I'm not used to being able to do this..." He nuzzled into Sebastian's neck. "I would be happy if you could try to think of me as an equal..."

"I know, I'll treat you like a servant... At least for now." He kissed his neck. "Although you do seem to enjoy being my property." He teased, lightly patting Sebastian's ass.

He hesitated for a moment. "Would you want to sleep here with me..?" He asked softly.

Not hiding anything. Though just remember you said you wouldn’t get upset by anything you overheard in my head. Since it seems you’re directly linked to me right now.... that’s important.” I know I’ll do something he hates eventually. Just a matter of time.

 

He closed his eyes, leaning into the others touch.

 

He blushed and laughed nervously. Maybe it’s because he’s getting under my skin? Sebastian couldn’t help but know Veryn was right though. He did want to belong.... as property or other.

 

“Yes.” He hummed softly. “You can claim me as your property and I wouldn’t bat an eyelash at it.”

 

He squirmed, suddenly a touch uncomfortable. Too many choices. Go and risk upsetting him for leaving here. Stay and risk upsetting because I’ve never done this before and will fail at something.... “What do you want?”

"I won't be upset with you" Veryn clarified. "I'm sure I'll end up getting upset with my father for the things he did, but it'll never be directed at you."

He frowned slightly at the man's thoughts, it was painful to know just how scared Sebastian was and how little he was able to trust Veryn.

"I want whatever you want." Veryn said softly. "I'm not going to be upset no matter what you choose, and I'm not going to be upset if you aren't experienced."

Sebastian frowned. Veryn might not like to learn everything then. Maybe he should keep some things from him to protect him? Even as he thought this, it didn’t sit well with him.

 

He wasn’t? That didn’t change the fact Sebastian didn’t know what he wanted....! He sort of wanted Veryn to tell him what to do.... but that wasn’t fair, and he knew the other wanted to be confident that Sebastian wanted to be here. Not forced to be.

 

He sighed, drawing patterns on Veryn’s flesh a moment with his finger as he thought about it. “I.... I think.... I’d like to try to stay.” Seb finally decided.

Veryn smiled and hugged him tightly, nuzzling into his neck. "I was hoping you would..." He lightly trailed his fingers through Sebastian's hair. "If you change your mind then you're free to go back to your own room..." He said softly. "But I would be happy to have you stay with me." He pulled back just enough to give the man a light kiss on the lips.

I made the right decision then? Though in truth it had been a deeper thought than just that. Deciding isn’t easy....

 

He chuckled at the light kiss. “Okay. I’ll go to my room if I can’t do it....” or feel overwhelmed. Seb felt a little relieved that it was an option!

 

Though, this decision stuff made him wonder.... Would he be mad if I told him I didn’t want to be paid? He won’t understand.... will he?

 

Instead of saying anything he nuzzled under his chin and cuddled close a moment. “Do you want a bath? I can run one for you, Master.”

Veryn shut his eyes tightly, trying to shut out Sebastian's thoughts. He didn't like the feeling that he was invading the other man's thoughts.

"I wouldn't be mad..." He murmured, unable to help himself. "But this probably isn't the best time to talk about that."

He gave Sebastian a nervous smile. "I really can't seem to turn this thing off with you..." He lightly stroked his hair. "A bath would be nice... Would you want to take one together?"

Sebastian blinked, blushing. I know! That’s why I didn’t say it out loud! he tried to clear his thoughts.

 

“Maybe it’s because secretly want to know what I’m thinking so it’s making it hard to not hear. Maybe distance would help? If you’re concerned about it?” Sebastian couldn’t claim he was ecstatic with it, but it wasn’t like he could stop it happening. “Maybe you just have to close your eyes?” He climbed out of the bed, “think about putting a wall up?” Seb winked.

 

“Sure. I’ll teach you how I usually control my powers, maybe it will help? Not that..... not that shadows can hurt you....” They just like to get close and personal apparently! he recalled what had happened earlier.

 

Opening the on-suite door he started to run the bath, automatically putting in Veryn’s fathers favourite things only to freeze. Shit. I did that on autopilot..... what if he doesn’t like this shit in his baths? He looked at the swirling water and reached for the plug. Best to just start again... right?

"I don't really want to be distant from you..." Veryn said softly. "I'll just try harder..."

He rose to his feet and followed after the man. "Sure, if you don't mind..." He tried to focus on tuning out the man's thoughts, but it just seemed to make his thoughts a bit quieter.

He lightly wrapped his arms around Sebastian from behind when he went to pull the plug. "What did you put in?" He asked, nuzzling his neck. "I won't know if I like it if I don't try it..."

Sebastian nodded, “okay....” he couldn’t claim he wasn’t a little relieved that the other wasn’t going to send him away. Strange how part of him had hoped for just that as he’d searched for the lost heir. What a difference a day made....

 

“I offered.” He said simply. “I wouldn’t offer if I minded.” Seb added softer.

 

He froze a little at being ‘caught’, he turned to look at him. Two options, just accept that he’d been caught and laugh it off or try to hide more.... hiding didn’t really seem an option around Veryn. “Sorry.” His hand moved away from the plug, fisting a little. “It’s called Elixir. It’s meant to regenerate and sooth or something. It has a slightly fruity scent to it.” He hadn’t exactly cared before, just added three squirts and filled with water. Just as his father had liked.

 

The nuzzling was at least a little relaxing. “Sorry.... I should have asked first.” He looked away. “Do you want me to empty the bath? Or do you wish to try it?”

"Does the smell bring back any bad memories for you?" Veryn asked softly. "If it does then you can refill the tub, otherwise I'll try it."

He lightly stroked Sebastian's waist. "I know you probably can't help it... But you really don't need to worry so much about upsetting me. Just yesterday I was getting yelled at by some old guy because the store I work at was out of stock of the book he wanted." He smiled slightly. "Last time a waiter got my order wrong I just pretended not to even notice, I still tipped them and everything."

Sebastian shook his head, he was indifferent to the smell. But a little confused as to why Veryn cared so much.... Because he’s really nothing like his father....

 

He chuckled slightly at that. “Your father definitely would have reacted like that.” Seb shook his head, a small smirk on his face. “He likely would have been much.... crueler.”

 

Sebastian looked up at him a moment, before softly kissing his chin. “Just.... give me time...”You’re a lot to get used to! From great sex to your personality to making decisions to trying to everything else I’m a little overwhelmed. He could admit it to himself, only to realise it wasn’t likely just him. “Just forget you heard any of that!” He laughed but blushed. “Now let me go so I can finish the bath off.” He pushed him away playfully and finished it off. Turning off the water and getting a towel out, only to pause and grab a second. Yeah.... lots to get used to....

"Yeah, from what I've heard about him I can't imagine he'd put up with that." Veryn chuckled softly. "Take your time. I'll keep doing my best to prove it to you."

His cheeks flushed deeply at the next thoughts that came rushing into his head. "Ah, sorry..." He released his grip on the man and stepped back, his face still red. "It's a lot for me to get used to too..." He murmured. "I guess it's a bit easier for me... At least I feel like I can relax when it's just the two of us "

Sebastian shrugged; “I’ve relaxed around you.” That didn’t mean the thought of trust thing was always easy. But he was trying.

 

“You also blush still. He never did that. I don’t think I ever saw anything fluster it’s flummox him.” He always felt invincible.

 

Clearing his throat he pushed those thoughts away. “Get in, Master. I don’t know if I’ll be much help but I’ll try.” Seb offered.

 

Climbing in after him he smiled shyly. This tub was huge! “So..... when I was learning my powers I found sitting and closing my eyes helped. You have to visual yourself powers. Try and figure out what sensation you feel when you use them. It might be small and subtle but it will be there. Mine is like.... like a little green light in my mind. If I pull to hard the world turns to shadow and if I ignore it nothing.” He knew that part wouldn’t apply to Veryn though.

"Good... I'm glad you can relax a bit..." Veryn smiled and climbed into the tub. He let out a soft sigh and relaxed in the warm water.

He gently wrapped an arm around Sebastian, pulling him to lean against his chest.

"I see..." He closed his eyes and tried to focus. "Can you try to... I don't know, think something at me..? So I can focus on what it feels like?"

Sebastian settled against him. He chuckled gently. Think something at you? Like this?

 

Deciding he might as well have some fun, he continued. earlier, on the plane, I really wanted you to not just threaten to wear me out. He turned and winked at him then settled again, resting his head on his shoulder. Just thinking of that toy and you fucking my arse? It’s enough to make me clench in pleasure just thinking about it. You were merciless! Images from his perspective flashed to his mind as he thought about it, damn it! Even his body reacted! Too bad you want rid of them all. Maybe you’ll find something similar. "Yeah... Like that..." Veryn started to try to focus on the way it felt to have Sebastian's thoughts enter his mind. His attempts were interrupted when Sebastian's thoughts became more lewd. "S-Sebastian..." He whined, his face becoming red. His attempts to cut off the connection was still just making it quieter, which made it feel like Sebastian was whispering his fantasies in his mind.

He squirmed slightly, feeling himself growing hard again. The idea of fucking Sebastian until he was completely unable to move... Of letting Horus bring them meals throughout the day and not even stopping...

He curled his tail around Sebastian's thigh. "How am I supposed to focus on blocking you out when you're thinking about those things?"

Sebastian felt the other shift and squirm behind him, a very cocky thought of; good, he’s not immune to me. Crossed his mind before he laughed.

 

“But!” He looked up and winked, kissing his chin and neck. “You might hear such thoughts. Not just mine. You have to block them all out.” Plus it’s fun to torment you a little.
