“Oh!” He blushed. “Sorry.” Fai focuses over at Winston again even as he couldn’t get over the sensation of being watched!

 

He squeezed the others fingers and nodded. “I thought I saw someone I recognised but it’s not. Silly peripheral vision playing tricks on me.” Fai smiled again then pulled his hands back to carry on eating and drinking. “How is your hot chocolate? Mine is delicious! The best I’ve had in a while.” He giggled, “maybe it’s helped by the company?” He offered shyly.

He didn't buy the little lie but he didn't want to bug the other with that so he stayed quiet, looking one more time over his shoulder, returning to his drink.

 

"Yea...is delicious" he said licking his lips smiling. "That can be a bonus too" he said smiling at the mention of the company. Maybe the company did everything for that day. Cause he was feeling amazing.

 

He noticed that the other got a little chocolate on his face so he laughed a little.

"You have ... something .... here" he said placing his finger on his upper lit to wipe the chocolate away. He flustered a little when he realized the gesture, blushing.

Fai felt his body freeze as Winston touched his lip. His pale flesh turned pink once more and his breathing hitched. “Oh! I..... thank you.” He smiled, the thing wobbling on his features.

 

“Sorry.” He rubbed his mouth down to get rid of anything else. “My brother always accuses me of being a messy eater!”

He laughed again placing his hand on the chocolate cup.

"You're really cute even when you're messy so...i'm not complaining" he added winking at him.

Seeing him like this it made his heart skip a bit. its been not even half a day and i'm already falling for the guy .... am i that desperate or .... this is real?, he thought keeping his eyes on the other.

He never felt like this before. It was all new to him.

"Would you like to .... go for a swim next time?" he asked in a clumsy voice, lowering his gaze to the cup.

Being called cute by the younger man made him squirm a little, but happily. He couldn’t recall getting too many compliments. Mostly because he hung around with his brother and Cassidy.

 

“A swim?” He blinked in surprise. “Sure... but when? I didn’t think we’d see each other until the ceremony on Friday.” He admits.

"Yeah ... if you want to ..." he said scratching the back of his neck blushing.

“Sure... but when? I didn’t think we’d see each other until the ceremony on Friday.”

"Oh right ... that ... I forgot about that ..." he said wanting to face slap himself. idiot! how could you forget about that

"I was ...thinking that ...since tomorrow is no work and ...if you were free... i know a waterfall near where we can swim...but if you have other plans for preparation or stuff is fine" he added burying his face in his cub of chocolate making himself a mustache as well.

“Ouch. I won’t tell Branwen or Kaido.” He smiled. “I helped Kaido with the flowers for the crown. It’s rather sweet.” Fai smiled, his wings fluttering a little with excitement!

 

“Tomorrow?” He considered, “I have to work until dinner. But I can meet you after?” Fai offered gently. “I might only be able to stay about an hour. If that’s okay?”

 

A waterfall? That sounded pretty!

"Really? That's fine?" He said happy looking back at him with a big smile on his face.

"I really like spend time with you and I know that at the ceremony we will be super busy with the guest and the other two"he sigh trying to think how the whole event will go and how many people will attend it.

Fai nodded. “Yeah. Maybe he should exchange numbers? Then we don’t have to rely on Kaido? And you can call me?” He offered softly. A little shy again.

 

“Hey!? What’s wrong? You look upset or worried all of a sudden?” Fai asked concerned.

"That's a good idea" he said taking out his phone preparing to add a new contact. how did i not think about that earlier

“Hey!? What’s wrong? You look upset or worried all of a sudden?”

"Hmm? No...I was just... I was just thinking how many people will be there and how busy we will be that is possible that we will not be able to talk much" he shrugged being honest with what he was thinking.

He pushed the phone to Fae wanting him to add the number in his phone.

Fai took Winston’s phone. He tapped the screen a few times before adding his number and then taking a selfie just for a little keys I also choice. He text himself from Winston’s phone then pushed it back. Taking his out he waved it around. “Thanks.” He chuckled. Winking at him. “Can I take a photo of you too?” Fai asked shyly.

 

“Oh? Yeah. Maybe. I think it will only be hard during the ceremony. But you can sit with me and Cass if you want? And maybe we can steal a dance at the after party?” He offered.

"Sure" he said smiling leaning on the table, placing his face on his hand, winking at him for the picture.

He laughed after that, seeing his face on the others screen and the face he was making.

"I would love to dance with you at the event" he smiled happily. "Would you reserve the first dance for me?" he asked taking his hand kissing it gently.

Fai took the photo, chuckling as he saved it. He liked having pictures for all his contacts. Then he’d never mix anyone up.... not that it was common or happened a lot! But you never knew that might happen and he liked to be prepared. Besides! It looked great!

 

He smiled at him. He always hounded Cassidy for the first dance. He sometimes caved too.... but maybe changing that was a start? “Sure.... as long as Branwen and Kaido don’t need or want me to something else. I’ll save the first for you.” He blushed. Why did it feel like he was talking about something else!?!?

 

He cleared his throat and started to nurse his hit chocolate. “So.... eh.... I should head back home soon....”

Cassidy has seen Fai.... and him. How could he not?

 

Kaido has said it so loud to get to him, while he wouldn’t admit that it had.... IT HAD!

 

Why couldn’t Branwen and his new mate just leave things as they were? Fai was too young to be mating anyone! Too innocent to just have random dalliances!

 

And then there was the truth that.... that.... Cassidy wanted to be his first. It was a dark truth he’d always carried. But how could he want that? Branwen was like a brother to him! He’d brought Fai up!

 

He’d been tempted for ten years. Each year Fai tried in new and interesting ways, each each it grew harder to say no..... but had he waited too long? He’d caught a glimpse in the cafe! Fai was smiling and being fed by the guy.... and damn but they looked cute together! The idea of having them both in his bed for his pleasure crossed his mind.... though he tried to ignore it!

 

Looking at his empty hand he walked home. He needed time to think.

His heart was beating so loud that he could feel it in his ears. Even after one date, he was already falling for the guy. The way he talked, the way he was talking were enough for him to make him want him more in his life.

 

"It's kind of getting pretty late" he said looking at the clock and around them. "Let's go then. I'll walk you home" he said lifting his hand waiting for him to take it. He wanted to make sure the other was getting home safe.

“No way! You’re the youngest one! I should be making sure you get home safe. I live alone, you probably still live with your brothers? I don’t want them to kill me for not looking after their baby brother.” Fai chuckled.

 

Getting up he still shyly took the others hand. Leaving the money on the table as they headed away. “Do you live near where Kaido used to live? He told me about the place while we worked on the crown....” he offered gently.

"Hey, just because i'm younger and live with my brothers doesn't mean i am hopeless or a toddle" he said mumbling not liking that the other was making him feel such a baby.

 

"Yeah.... i live a few houses away from his place" he added still angry that the other had acted like he was a child and not a man. Even if he was young, he was still a man. He tightened his grip on the others hand.

Fai could tell he’d upset him.... but he wasn’t entirely sure why!

 

“Oww!” He tried to pull his hands back but Winston held it firm. He frowned a moment, “Winston.... look.... I’m sorry. I wasn’t calling you a child or anything. I wasn’t. Aren’t I allowed to be worried about you too?” He asked. But the tighter grip was scaring him a little. “You can fly me home if that’s what you prefer.”

 

Fai glanced away. Why was he such a doormat?

"I don't want you to look at me as kid even if i'm younger than you" he said mumbling softening his grip on the other, moving his thumb on his hand. "I know i may act like a child sometimes but ... its just because i like to enjoy life and everything that it has to offer. That doesn't make me a child" he looked at Fae.

"I can handle myself. I'm more worried about you" he said blushing turning his gaze away. "I've learned from my brothers that a gentleman should always escort their date home safe no matter what" he said blushing even more.

“I wasn’t looking at you like a child, Winston.” He frowned and looked up at him. “You want to take me home because it makes you feel good? Right? So why can’t I want the same?”

 

Fai slowly pulled his hand away and rubbed his own arm. Why was he so worried about him? Did Fai come across as weak or something?

 

Right now he just wanted to at home alone. He needed to think.

 

“I seem to keep saying and doing the wrong thing and upsetting you. Maybe it’s best I don’t say much....” he offered quietly.

Seeing how hurt Fae was looking he started to panic.

"No....no...that's not ....I didn't say you're doing wrong....you mi-misunderstood" he started hyperventilating his hands in the air, trying to make the other understand. At that point he really was acting like a kid trying to make up for his mistake.

"Fine ... let's make a deal then ok" he said trying to cheer the other up. "If you get me home now...i'll get you home next time" he said smiling. "It's a win win" he said getting closer to him taking his hands into his.

"I'm really sorry if i've upset you or anything" he kissed his hands gently.

Seeing him panic wasn’t nice. That hadn’t been Fai’s intention.... and honestly? He had no idea what to do! He usually dealt with Cassidy and Branwen.... two very confident men!

 

He smiled over at him. Let him kiss his hands then nodded as he pulled free and hugged him close. “It’s okay.... I guess I’m just fed up of being treated like a kid too....” that had been Cass’s reason for so long it was hard to shift the thought now. Winston didn’t want to hear that though. He’d made that clear.

 

“It’s okay. You can walk me home this time..... I could really do with a lie down.” He shrugged. “Will you text me when you get home?”

 

Fai let him go, carefully taking his hand and heading towards home.

HE got super happy and hugged him back. He really didn't want to hurt him and hearing that he was treated like a kid just like him, made his heart melt even more. They really were so alike.

 

"Yes of course" he said quickly blushing. i sound so desperate right now, he thought sighing but smiled. He was feeling to good going hand in hand with the other.

Fai smiled and led him back. He was quiet, thoughtful as he ran over a number of options in his head.

 

Did he plan to take things further with Winston? If not.... after the ceremony he needed to end it. It was only fair to them both that way! He knew what it was like being led on.....

 

Not nice.

 

Seeing him home come into view, the flowers on the roof, he smiled. “This is me. You sure you’ll be okay getting home?” He checked.

"Beautiful home" he said blinking checking all the flowers around the house. in really is like him, he thought turning his smiling face to Fae.

"I'll text you once i'm home. I promise" he said kissing his hand, still holding him there, debating if he should risk it. As he chew his lip he decided that he will not regret anything about this. He always did what he felt and he was going to do it till the end.

So, before the other could say a word he pressed his lips over Fae's in a quick gentle kiss. "Good night Fae" he whispered all blushed and flew away quickly being too embarrassed.
