Seme wanted for rp set in modern day Japan (neko)

Basic plot and setting:

Kaoru Yukishiro is a 17-year-old (turning 18) onnagata in training, owner of exquisite beauty.

Born in a geisha house, he was eventually thrown out of the okiya and taken in by a troupe of kabuki actors who started providing for him and give him a new life as an actor.

Though he doesn't have much experience as an actor yet, Kaoru already has some fans among the audience due to his looks, including some eventually unwanted attentions.

One night, one of the said fans who had been observing him for quite a while, enters the room where Kaoru was doing some late night practice, so the fan comes to present himself as a possible patron and above all, to confess his feelings.

Kaoru seems surprised with this seme's boldness and politely rejects him. But this seme won't be too happy with that, no sirree.

I thought the thing could start as kind of non-consensual for Kaoru's part but then he would start to take a liking in this mysterious seme, who deep down will have his heart in the right place, despite being overzealous sometimes.

The seme can be also a kemonomimi (cat, dog, rabbit... whatever you like) or human and his personality and fetishes are completely up to you ^^

Heir of the Seiryu group, Shigeru Seiryu had always gotten what he wanted if he worked enough for it. Since he was a child, he has been receiving training to become an eligible heir. He has always lived as a good child that would be approved and accepted by the adults he found himself associating with. He had to be adult-like at an early age.

He was never able to release his stress for he had to keep an appearance of a good child all of the time. From this, another personality was born. He called himself "Shin" as he strayed on the streets when Shigeru was unconscious. He would be part of brawls or fights while he wears a plain mask to hide his identity.

Shigeru knew of this which is why he never sleeps with anyone.

But other than that, he was practically perfect. He had good looks, he is intelligent and Shigeru has a nice personality.

One day, whilst Shigeru was taking a break as he walks on the streets, he saw a very beautiful actor. For the first time, he felt that he would break his rules just to be with him. Ever since then, he had been watching him. Shin showed up less too. Before he knew it, he fell in love.

Thank you so much for replying *huggles* I already had given up on waiting for anyone to answer so I stopped checking on this thread, hence the delay replying back to you =.= but I'm glad you did.

I'm so in love with Shigeru now X33 he shall be a great seme for Kao-chan, and I'll certaily love the plans you have for him as well!

As for the start, that's a great idea, but how about us writing a couple of posts for some build-up action? ^^ If you like, I was planning starting out the thread with Kao finishing one of his plays, and Shigeru would be in the audience a few weeks after he started watching Kaoru carefully for a while. So as the show finishes and the curtain comes down, he firmly decides he will talk to him that night, so he'd stalk him back to his room only to be rejected.

Or, if you prefer, the next night/day after watching the show he surprises Kaoru during his practice, again to be rejected.

 

Of course I'm not imposing anything ^^ you'll always have the last word, it's just a couple of ideas :3 we can always save those two settings for later if you like them.

By the way... what would you like to call the roleplay?

As for the titles, I found the first one just precious X33333 and my first thoughts on the second one were "Wow... deep. O///O"

I wonder what kind of path you'd like for the story to follow, because I really like your first title suggestion but I think it suggests a romantic comedy, maybe that's just me XD nothing against it btw ^^

I have a counter offer concerning your second title! To add a bit more spice we could use it as a sub-title or tagline and call the rp "Mayoi Neko - The Lost Cat Amidst the Two Sides of the Mirror"

The "mirror" part kept me wondering about your expectations concerning the plot ^^ Actually, Kaoru had a twin that was killed (drowned) on the night they were born by the owner of the Geisha house their mother lived in. In their "canon" story, that brother's spirit grows angry and vengeful and eventually comes back to torment (or kill if he has the chance) Kaoru and the ones around him. All Kao knows is that these strange phenomena keep happening to him, his friends or fellow actors, in the form of small accidents and injuries that occur inexplicably, that over time will become more serious. Needless to say, Kabuki actors are stereotypically a very superstitious bunch, so Kaoru prefers to leave the explanation of those things to his seniors and tries to be more reasonable and not to be bothered by it all the fuss they make about it every time something bad happens. As he is younger he is not that prone to believe in such ghosts, particularly in nekomata, a fork-tailed cat spirit born out of cruelty done to a cat that eventually died because of said cruelty or negligence. Therefore, in Kaoru’s world, there is a widespread custom to dock the neko’s tails while they are young to prevent the tail from splitting in two, hence preventing them of becoming nekomata, while others argue that would be just a way to hide abuse on nekos. However, Kaoru’s mother didn’t allow Kaoru’s tail to be docked, so we could say he still remains “pure”, perhaps making his appearance even more exquisite to some Kabuki fans *wink wink* Kaoru prefers to conceal his tail at least during performances though, he is very shy about it.

If you want we could use that as a plot device at some point in our roleplay ^^

 

I tried to cook up some titles of my own, but I've failed miserably. The only one that is probably decent enough to suggest is "Midnight no Nagauta" (Nagauta, or "long song" is a style of music closely connected with the Kabuki theater). But I kinda like yours better.

 

As for a more solid topic, I really don’t know yet... that scene of someone surprising Kaoru in his make-up room or at his late night dance practice stuck to my mind XDD of course we can always play a variation of that, but a wider plot would certainly be nice ^^

So I guess that if we use the first title that I suggested, we could end up in a "fluff" story and if we use the latter and include your idea, we would end up in an "angst" story. Hmm.. I don't know which would be better since I like both but we could make this last longer if we use the "angst" one since we both have something under our sleeves. And I like the Mayoi Neko. :3 Finally I would be able to dismiss the mental image of a bunch of girls and turn it to smexy yaoi. So overall, I guess I'd wanna go with the latter.

 

Lol. It seems that we are stuck in the same part of the story which is why I can't seem to go further with my suggestions. I guess we could figure things out when we're already RP-ing. XD

And as for the plot, even if we stick to angst, I'm sure we could throw in some fluff scenes as well when Kaoru gets more used to Shigeru's presence, like Shigeru could invite Kaoru for dinner, come to his plays, or offer him a new kimono, and while Kaoru might still have his doubts about Shigeru's intentions, we will enjoy the attention ^^ It would give the story a whole new dimension, don't you think?

 

I know what you feel and I honestly would like to have a more solid idea for a plot, but at least for now, no can do. But as we go along maybe one of us can come up with something else ^^

 

So the title issue is settled then, right? I'm glad you like it.
