(Pictures in chat since I can’t post them for some reason)

Name: Yukie

Hair/Eye color: White almost silver / Dark red eyes

Skin: Yukie is covered with a soft velvety fur that unless touched looks like skin. He has horns and a long tail (like a lions). His feet are also like paws (lions) and he can briefly change his body to look like other things and human.

Race: Pure demon

Age: 21

Bio: he was abandoned as an infant because he looked like a “scary” demon. While some possess demon traits no one ever looks like a demon and he’s a pure abandoned demon. Anyway...basically he’s adopted by two doting parents who love and support him. As a uke he’s rather shy about his looks and instead of being overly confident he’s a touch unsure. Hes rather kind and bighearted. He’s working his way into fully caring and providing for his family and others, since he doesn’t age and heals fast. He wants to start his own family with the possibility of kids one day either adoption or via blood ties.

Likes: work and his family. Enjoys being alone sometimes.

Dislikes: crowds and people staring at him. Isn’t font of doctors.

Special info: Yukie has a weak immune system (will be explained it was due to his genetics and his bodies abilities) because of this he has more doctor visits and has medicine and machines to help him when get gets overly sick (happens rarely since he’s very careful). He stays at home a lot so his parents can check on him and to give them a peace of mind.

———————————

Yukie, well today he was rather annoyed sitting in the sunroom he sulked his mood having been sour for the last few days. Due to the cold weather he knew he had no choice and it was best for his health and to keep everyone from worrying. But, he would be lying if he said he was happy with getting another agent. Over the last few years Yukie had become a popular illustrator and at times author of many children’s books. He was easily recognized in his demon form on the back and insides of his books. Despite his demon appearance his work had taken off. Looking back Yukie had a very busy first year and going into the end of his second he had agreed to have an agent take care of his book readings and travel plans. After the last time he had worked himself into sickness and ended up hospitalized and back home with his parents. Due to this Yukie had agreed to take it easy and have another agent hire. With a week full of work on hold Yukie wasn’t to pleased to be waiting for the agents to show up so he could meet them.

“Yukie? They should be here in another hour the snows made the roads difficult” a gentle voice informed Yukie making him look over.

“I was going to call and see it’s not like them to be this late” Yukie admitted sitting up better as he got up and stretched his body trembling at the sudden movement for his muscles. Looking down at his mother Yukie kissed her forehead seeing the familiar worry wrinkles. “Don’t worry I’m not going to move out until I know he’s a good fit. Besides even if I did it would just be next door” Yukie reminded his mother knowing that the house he had been living in was locked up back in the heart of the city.

”I know it’s just, the air out in the country has been so good for your health and you seem so relaxed” she fretted back smoothing out Yukies shirt that wrapped nicely around his figure.

Tiernan McCabe

Spoiler

spacer.png

Hair color: Dark, turning salt and pepper

Eye color: Grey

Other features: facial hair, tattoos (on his back and right bicep)

Age: 32 years old

Race: Human

Bio: Tiernan is retired from the Marine Corps and decided to live a normal civilian life. Initially, he was into the security line of work, where he could use his skills, but the PTSD and nightmares from when he was serving overseas followed him, so he cut himself from anything to do with weapons, fighting and violence. His family thought he was depressed, but he was just bitter from the sh*t thrown at him. He plans to get a support animal but he's not confident on how to take care of them. He's a closet softie. Tiernan doesn't date much because he doesn't do movies or candlelight dinners.

Likes: Cute things, home cooked meals, sarcasm

Dislikes: Meddling people, assholes, people who he thinks deserve to be shot

Additional info: He lost a couple of his friends while serving overseas, which contributed to his PTSD. His brother-in-law is his current best friend.

=======================================================

Years serving in the desert made Tiernan forgot how troublesome traveling on a road covered with snow. He was supposed to be there five minutes ago, but this far out from the city made it difficult to navigate the car at the same time searching for an address. Back when he was serving, they have people looking out for coordinates while another drive the humvee, so that was more efficient. But Tiernan didn't want to complain much because this was what he decided. Not 100% voluntarily, but what else can he do? He tried working in security for a few months, but the nightmares and sleepwalking with a gun that almost blown holes in the drywall of his house didn't work out. His psychiatrist suggested a support animal, but after he killed two cacti that were a housewarming gift from his niece, perhaps the animal would be better off with someone else.

Finally, after almost an hour driving, Tiernan pulled the car into a driveway that matched the address he had. His brother-in-law has offered him a job in the publishing company he owned as an agent to a children's book illustrator. He didn't know much about publishing, but managing one illustrator in everyday tasks wouldn't be that hard, right? He carried his gun everywhere with him out of habit, but he would never have to take it out in this field of work. He prayed he won't need it. Tiernan parked his car and locked the door after he exited.

"Ok, Tiernan, you can do this," he told himself as he stood in front of the front door. He straightened his winter pea coat and brushed some snow that had fallen on his hair on the short walk to the door step. Tiernan blew in a short breath and pressed the bell.

“Oh! Sounds like he’s here! I’ll go let him in” the woman replied happily as she ran off and opened the door. Yukie groaning laid on the floor now sulking about the fact some stranger was entering his space. Opening the door the woman smiled warmly. “Ah! You must be our guest my name is Yue.” She replied with a smile opening the door into a warm entryway that was rather cozy. “Make yourself at home Yukie is in the living room sulking so you’ll have to forgive him he’s in a mood.” Yue explained as she stepped aside going off to get the screaming tea kettle off the stove.

”I’m going to throw that damn kettle away if you keep using it! That damn whistling noise is awful!” Yukie yelled out curling into his pile of pillows as he continued to sulk hating his latest enemy being the teapot. With one ear twitching Yukie could hear the breathing of the man in the other room. Sitting up he sighed and rubbed his eyes tiredly having been half asleep to his mothers talking.

“the package is lost due to the storm.” Yue added as she nudged Yukie to sit up and greet their guest. Sighing she full well knew Yukie was just angry due to the cold and having not slept in awhile due to growing new fangs again. Adding on the new guest and his own moodiness it was rather a bad week for their new guest to arrive. “Can I offer you a drink?” Yue called out to their guest setting down Yukies cup of warm imitation blood.

Tiernan was stunned silent when he entered the house. The mother was chatty, and she seemed warm and friendly as she steered him into the living room. He heard the yelling and Yue moved into the kitchen.

"Someone's feeling jolly today," he said sarcastically under his breath, not intending for anyone to hear. He scanned the room, looking for the person his brother-in-law told him to "take care" of and didn't see anyone until he saw a movement on a pile of pillows. The first thing he thought about was of a fluffy white thing. An animal. What was it called...chinchilla? But that chinchilla had just screamed about the kettle noise, so he must have a little bit of an attitude. Great. What had his brother-in-law made him agree to do. He was used to deal with terrorist, criminals and people with authority. How was he going to handle a tiny little thing without being an asshole. And in front of his mother? The last thing he wanted was a mother kicking him out of the house thinking he was bullying the bundle of fluff.

And said mother was offering to make him drinks. "Uhh, I'm good. Thank you," he replied enough for her to hear all the way in the kitchen. In the meantime, he went further into the living room cautiously as not to spook the grumpy bundle on the pillows. He stayed in one corner but his eyes fixed on his current assignment. "Hello. My name is Tiernan McCabe. I'm your new agent from Quill Publishing." He introduced himself. "Do you think you can sit up and talk to me properly or should I come back with a bag of treats for you?" He didn't mean to say the last sentence out loud, but he was used to being frank. If the illustrator would hate him for that, then he'd have to suck it up, because the publishing house won't be sending a new agent.

“Mmh seems they sent a decent agent. Glad he has a sense of humor” Yukie replied with a dry laugh as he looked at Tiernan. “Sorry for the mood. I don’t do well with the cold and being cooped up. Not to mention one of my authors is giving me a run around on design ideas. We aren’t on speaking terms at the moment.” Yukie explained slowly sitting up his pillows falling around him.

“Your first task is to beat some sense into them, they have three options either they choose one or risk breaking their contract” Yukie added moving to get up and lead Tiernan to his makeshift office. “Follow me and I’ll show you what you need to catch up on what needs fixed, and new clients to talk to, I expect you to only last two weeks at most.” Yukie explained with a small sigh as he opened the French doors to a giant room with big beautiful windows letting in a lot of sunlight. The room was rather comfortable for Yukie since he had grown up in it. Looking around one would see that it was covered in reference books and art supplies some stacked neatly others strewn across the room. “You’ll have to excuse the mess I haven’t been in the best health and have given up on making my office habitable.” Yukie explained as he moved to a bookshelf that was neatly filed with all his current work and assignments.

Taking down five folders he sat them down on a small table before sitting on a chair ready to discuss work with the man.”I hope you plan to stay for dinner you’ll disappoint my mother she’s rather happy I’m talking to anyone outside of her and my father. Don’t be surprised if she tries to push us to go do things or into dating. She’s rather energetic when it comes to me but she means well” Yukie explained while finishing setting up the table. “So, how much did they tell you about this job? Did they mention the second contract that I asked for you to read?” Yukie asked having added a special contract to add to the mans salary if he agreed.

The one-eighty mood shift was a little surprise, but Tiernan liked it better. He followed the tiny –he wasn’t sure what Yukie was but it wasn’t a big deal– into the office. For someone who had gone through at least four agents, Yukie did well judging by the size of the place. Which was another plus point because Tiernan believed in people who worked hard for themselves. He didn’t comment about the mess because it’s normal.  Although being in the army for too long made him used to keeping everything in its places.

“I was told about the authors. I think I can handle them fine, no worries about that,” he assured the artist. “I heard about your health too, I hope you’re much better now,” he added. He meant that sincerely because he knew how it feels to not be able to work because you’re not in a good shape either mentally or physically. He found a place to sit down and saw an ottoman at a corner near the french doors. Tiernan moved there and sat down facing his new charge. “I need you to tell me about the second contract though. Connor, my brother-in-law and the guy who owns Quill Publishing likes to keep me hanging sometimes so I’m guessing I need to hear all details from you.” Connor did told him some basic things but it would be much better to hear Yukie’s side too.

Tiernan wasn’t surprise what Yukie said about his mother. He has a big family, so he knew how mothers could be when it come to their children. “I’m sure I’ll survive dinner with your family since the snow outside doesn’t agree with me leaving. And I’m not worried if your mother tries to pair us up. I’m not really dating material, so if she wants what’s best for you, she’d keep tou away from me,” he grinned and shot a wink at Yukie

“She’s a hopeless romantic so you might have to turn her offers to marry me off down for a while” Yukie replied with a sigh already feeling exhausted. “The second contract is a bit more then normal. I need what you might call a live in nanny” Yukie replied with a very dry laugh not to fond of the idea. “The hours are continuous you’ll get holidays and weekends off if you desire and your pay is more then enough in my mind” Yukie replied as he looked over the contract once again. “I’m not fond of living with my parents all the time that being said...I’ve been looking into buying a house out in the countryside.”

”Problem being its not safe for me to live alone. The contract offers a live in situation for my agent. You will do basics when I feel to sick such as yard maintenance and basic housekeeping if needed. On top of that you will tend to your agent job and become a person who handles my parents checking in on me from time to time.” Yukie explained with a small smile that showed he was a little desperate to be out of everyone’s eyesight. “While I love my family dearly...I do value my own sanity and alone time.” Yukie added as he got up and with ease walked the papers over for his agent to look through.

“If I die due to the workload it looks bad for the company. And after just getting my freedom I’m not to thrilled to be overly coddled back at home. Granted the meals and companionship is nice I can’t get as much work done with family always coming around” Yukie added knowing that even if the man refused he would just end up going the route of finding another male to live with him if it came to it.

What the...did he heard him right? A living nanny that does housekeeping, gardening and...what?! Dammit! Connor had tricked him! He thought being an agent was just managing the chinchilla's schedule, book signing, being a liaison with the authors and whatnot, maybe remind the fluff that he needed to eat in between works but he didn't expect to move in with the tiny cotton ball. Hell, he told his psychiatrist he wasn't ready to get a support animal and now he'd have to support the chinchilla instead? Not that he was totally opposing the idea. The fluff ball was small, not even half his size. Maybe he'd keep some biscuits around so he won't be hungry. Houseworks weren't so bad, he could use the routine aside from his daily workout...but damn, a live in nanny - manny -? He opened his mouth to reply but when he saw the look on Yuki's face, he clammed up once again. He knew the feeling of getting away from well meaning people. When he returned from the war, soul broken from the lost of his buddies, he had stayed with his parents. They tried to be there for him and supported him while he went through counselling and treatment, but sometimes he felt smothered. Maybe Yukie felt the same too. Maybe he and Yukie had something in common afterall.

"Let me read that through," he reached out for the contract and gave it a quick scan. There wasn't anything dubious or something that would challenge his integrity. He looked up to study the little thing in front of him. He looked harmless enough, not someone who would make enemies with people. A little headstrong maybe, but he could take care of that. And he owed Connor a favour, this would put them in even footing. And for some reason, he liked Yukie.

"I think we can work it out." Tiernan nodded at the papers. "But your mother would likely think we're going to date, get married and have babies sooner rather than later. I draw the lines at themed wedding, though. Not my thing. When she plans our wedding, I'm going to be a groomzilla, " Tiernan said jokingly. He got up from the ottoman so he could stand in front of Yukie. "So, little thing. If I'm going to be your guy, you need to tell me about yourself. What are you?" He asked bluntly, locking gaze with the other person.

“Oh when it comes to weddings it’s my father you’ll have to fear” Yukie teased back over joyed that he could finished packing up secretly. Hearing the next question Yukie frowned...the question hurting his heart to explain. “Well...the doctors don’t really know how to answer that...basically I’m a demon but more of a “demon” then normal” Yukie explained with a small shrug the topic rather painful. “I was found abandoned. No leads or ideas on where or who I came from it wasn’t until later on I learned about my birth parents.”

“Basically somehow I was left in a bloodied blanket half buried in the snow bank. It was really far out in the mountains a park ranger found me in the middle of winter half starved and not even knowing my name. The ranger couldn’t tell how long I had been in the elements but it took a toll on my health.” Yukie explained with a small smile. “They where terrified of me until the police arrived. Hell they kept me in a box in a corner they where so freaked out.”

“Anyway after about a year later and much medical care, I recovered and was officially adopted by Yue and my father. Despite their doting and excessive love. I-I put them through hell when I turned twelve...we got into a fight. I ended up running away.” Yukie started knowing that eventually Tiernan would find out the story if he ever went to the hospital with him.

”Ten years later I returned home via police escort no memory of where I had been or what had happened to me. They accepted me without questioning what the police had told them, they took on all my new health issues and devoted to making me better and taking care of me. They don’t pry over what happened and they don’t ask where I went or why I came back the way I did they just took me home and treated me like their son.” Yukie added looking down at his hands clearly ashamed of the worry he had put them through for ten years. Looking back up Yukie had composed himself better enough to try and act normal.

“they need to worry about themselves not me. For ten years they searched for me always waiting for me to come home” Yukie finished getting to the root of why he wanted to give them a break of worrying about him. “They told me about being part of a demon exhibit years later after I was better...and they explained after it was shut down and that I wouldn’t remember it due to being in different forms so often and pacing my enclosure. I went mad after being taken out of it and being separated from the others who lived with me. I also found out that it was my birth parents who gave me away to the owner so it destroyed me.”

”After all of that...I had a really hard time readjusting to people and trusting my adoptive parents after being betrayed by the ones who said they wanted me. Because of this...I still have trouble dealing with being confined to spaces and being completely alone I can handle a few hours but I get a little anxious when it’s to long. ” Yukie admitted as he watched his mother walk in clearly giving them space but checking in in the only way she could. Setting down some snacks and a drink each for them both she quickly left. Thanking her Yukie got up and grabbed a water and sipped it waiting for Tiernan to walk out after what he had heard.

Tiernan could only imagine the amount of sorrow Yukie was feeling when he was sharing his story. All the older man could do was listen. He didn't want to spook the chinchilla boy - his secret nickname for Yukie - since Yukie told him it was hard for him to trust people after that blank ten years. He didn't know Yukie, he had just met him and although he thought Yukie was a little bratty, there was no way he could think Yukie as a monster. He had been to war, he'd seen what real monsters looked like. The fluffball in front d him was not one despite the curvy horns and swishy tail. If what was in front of him was a monster, then he'd keep it, tuck in it his pocket and take him everywhere where no one else could hurt him.

Agreeing to the contract would be risky, could probably be a mistake, but Tiernan knew in his guts that he was doing the right thing. It wasn't like stopping his fellow comrades from passing through and IED and watched them blasted to smithereens. He knew he couldn't change anything about their deaths, he told it everything he was woken up from his nightmares, but things with Yukie was different. Yukie didn't need saving, he just needed someone to see him for who he was. And who he was was something Tiernan wanted to learn about.

Tiernan reached for Yukie's water glass and put it on the table. He took Yukie's hand and lead him to sit down on the sofa in the big office. Tiernan knelt down in front of Yukie, his height put them on eye level. "I hate tragic stories because they leave behind pain and sorrow." He grasped Yukie's hands in his big hands. "I'm not here to fix you, Yukie, but I'm very reliable. Trust is something earned and when you're ready, I know you'll give me your trust. For now I'll accept the arrangement in the contract. I'm broken in some places too, but I think you're what my doctor recommended," he said and winked to lighten the mood. He moved to sit next to the demon fluff and patted the younger male's thigh assuringly. "So, why don't we skip the dark mood and think about what we can accomplish today, hmm? Like calling the authors who still couldn't decide which illustration to use and plan our cohabitation?" He gave the little demon a cheeky smile that he hadn't showed anyone in years.

“Mmh you’ll have to break the news I’m moving at dinner. Your going to have to break moms heart while she serves your dessert and sends you home with leftovers” Yukie admitted with a small snort as he relaxed instantly beside Tiernan. “The house needs cleaned up and we would have to share a kitchen and living room. Bright side you get your own bathroom.” Yukie added already pulling out his phone to show him pictures of the beautiful house down up a little higher in the mountain side. “You might have to deal without internet until I can get the place properly set up though I’m sure father can do that he’s pretty good at this stuff.” Yukie added excitedly before receiving a text message.

“Ugh..speaking of work this one is yours” Yukie added the rather passive aggressive message from an author who was angry Yukie needed an idea of what he wanted drawn. The message was clear this was one of the clients needing to be taken down a notch on their attitude.

"Oh, your mom is going to love me when I tell her I would keep an eye on her beloved son, watch over him like a guardian angel, keep his house clean, his yard full of blooming flowers in spring, remind him to eat his food on time and make him to call his mother ever other day so she doesn't worry." Tiernan grinned smugly. He didn't mind about sharing the space because back in the army, there wasn't exactly a five-star hotel. As long as there were some room for privacy - he's an adult male with needs - he's good with it. "Don't worry too much about the house. I'm going to make sure Connor makes in move-in ready." He smiled triumphantly. It was Connor's idea for him to take on this job, so everything he needed, Connor would have to provide.

Tiernan read the message from the ornery author and scowled. Some people felt they were entitled, but nothing Tiernan couldn't handle. "You leave it to me. And while I'm on the phone, be a good pet and finish the snacks your mom made for you." Tiernan patted Yukie's cheek affectionately. He dialed the phone number of the author who had problems with Yukie and waited until it was picked up. Then, he began his smooth talk laced with subtle threat and a little scare, Tiernan made sure the author knew how everyone should do their work properly.

Yukie blushed at the sudden pat to his cheek. He sat for a moment almost stunned by the act as it was strange to him before going and looking at the snack. Poking at it he ignored the snack to go stare out the window for a moment leaving Tiernan to take care of the work calls. After a few minutes Yukie settled down into a chair and picking up a sketchbook worked in silence filling the pages with many different characters and lots of different scenes and scenery. Looking up for a moment Yukie turned a page before sketching Tiernan amused by the shape and features of his new companion.

“Yukie, dinners ready when you two are free. Fathers already home if you want to take your medication early” Yue replied peeking into the room at the two lovebirds.

“I’ll take it before bed.” Yukie replied focused on his work as he stopped and looked up at Yue. “Don’t worry I’m fine with him staying the night.” Yukie assured his mother knowing she worried he would be uncomfortable with a stranger in the house.

When he was in the army for years, he found out that no one likes to mess with them. Not out of fear- no, but most of the time out of respect. He wasn't one to bask in hero glory, but he did his time and some people were appreciative when they found out he was a veteran. So talking with people - entitled people - was easier when he used his authoritative voice. When Yukie's mother showed up and told them about dinner, he merely raised his hand in acknowledgement while the person on the other end of the line stuttering their reply. One task down, many others to go. He put his phone in his pocket after he was done and turned to his personal pet. "What is it about staying the night?" Tiernan asked although he had an idea about what it was. The snow wasn't so bad, but judging from his trip to this side of the suburb, the road could be dangerous. He wasn't going to risk it.

"I would like to meet your father in you don't mind. Can't steal his son away without permission." The more he said it, the more real it felt. He was going to have a roommate. "Is he going to clean his gun in front of me while he interrogates about my intentions with his precious son?" He slid Yukie's hair behind his ears while he said it.

“Honestly I wouldn’t know I’ve never dated or brought anyone home so he might?” Yukie added his face blushing even more at the simplest touch from Tiernan. Leaving the room Yukie lead the way to the dinner table only to be instantly bear hugged by a male wearing a lab coat.

“Yukie~ I missed you today!!!!” Yune sang out quite happy to be snuggling Yukie to death.

”let go...your crushing me!” Yukie groaned out his body completely ensnared by his fathers arms only snuggling him more.

”I can’t if I do you’ll avoid me all night! You know you could have come with me to work! You never want to spend time with your old man anymore!!!!” Yune added almost tearful as Yukie squirmed out of grasp hiding behind his mother Yue.

“I told you I had to work. And if you keep hugging me like that I’m going to end up ignoring you!” Yukie replied his face red with embarrassment at his parents actions as they just gushed all the more over Yukies reactions.

”I know I know. I’ve just been gone for a few weeks video calling isn’t the same” Yune replied with a small happy sigh before holding up a small gift bag. “Brought you something back~“ he added as Yukie eyes him suspiciously before coming out to accept the gift only to be hugged again. Growling a little within minutes the two where roughhousing around the house and wresting in quite the playful manner.

”be careful and give him breaks he’s just getting over a cold!” Yu demanded worried the two would get to worked up. “Tiernan fear would you mind helping me? Normally I’d ask Yukie.” Yu asked him only to hear a loud crash of a chair being knocked over from the living room.

After spending the short time in Yukie's parents' house, nothing seemed to be a surprise anymore. He watched as the father and son play around like Yukie was a five year old kid on Christmas morning. It was kind of adorable, because the McCabe brothers were always roughhousing when they were younger, so he liked what he saw with Yukie and his father. He wondered if Yukie had any siblings or if he was the only one the couple had adopted.

"It's the least I could do ma'am, since you're putting up with me for dinner," he told Yue as he helped her set up the table. "Does Yukie get sick a lot? So far he'd never been behind his deadlines, as I am told, but if he get's sick easily, maybe we could talk about getting him longer extensions on his commissions. It wouldn't do good for any of us if he pushed himself too far." Not even a day and Tiernan was already worried about his little chinchilla boy. He'd need to ask Yue to make a list about Yukie later so that he'd be prepared when they moved in together. "Does he have any allergies?

“Oh he didn’t tell you? Figures that would be the one thing he wouldn’t tell you” Yue replied with a sigh as she carried out some dishes and drinks. “Yukie is rather frail his body is constantly maintaining itself so it overtime wears down. He has a strict routine that works well but it throws us for a loop. Sometimes he can go months feeling wonderful and being fine. Next thing we know he’s unconscious on the floor having no idea why he’s out cold.” Yue explained with a small frown as she looked at the two.

“Yune is a doctor at a hospital in town he works as a surgeon. Despite all of their testing we can’t really figure out why Yukies body keeps changing like it does. From what we can gather his body is renewing itself pretty often and he can heal rather quickly we think it’s why he survived being abandoned so well. The other children like him don’t have any powers or strange abilities so it’s rather odd what he can do.” She explained before seeing a couple of younger children run and tackle the two men who where laughing in the living room.

”well, allergies...not that I know if he can have reactions but his body usually handles anything that he naturally doesn’t eat. So I wouldn’t worry about that it’s more his lungs. He sometimes needs breaks to breathe out of everything his lungs are pretty weak he’s going with Yune to a specialist next week to get a full testing with what medical papers we do have so hopefully we can get him feeling stronger” Yu finished before marching over and separating everyone already telling Yukie was worn out from all the rough housing .

Of course Yukie didn't tell him about his condition. He had a feeling that Yukie prefer other people to deliver the bad news. Yukie was looking good to Tiernan at the moment, so he hoped he would never see hid fluffy cottonball get sick. A smile crept on his face when the father and son was joined by two more kids. Despite what Yukie had told him about his past, Tiernan hoped the young demon realize how much he was loved.

"Isn't there a specialist who understood more of Yukie's biology? I never worked with a demon before, but in the army, we had other paranormals and we had medical specialists for them on the team. I knew Yukie is rare, more special, but there must be experts who knew how to help with his health condition," said Tiernan. He wnted to know more about Yukie's condition so that when it was just the two of them, he would know what to do.

The demon in front of his eyes called to his protective nature. He was shy, but he wasn't afraid to say what he wanted to say. His body had restrictions, but Yukie didn't appear to be weak. The chinchilla boy was an enigma. He liked that he was soft as a cotton but was also fierce with his horns and his tail. There was not much to dislike about Yukie.

“Well naturally that would be Yune. But he wants to call in a few others with more experience  to figure out what they can do.” Yu answered with a soft smile. “After adopting him we couldn’t just adopt one kid” Yu explained watching the kids who where still playing with a small sigh before breaking them all up fully. “Everyone go sit down it’s time to eat” Yu ordered only to be greeted by a chorus of groans from the group of five demons.

“don’t argue with her.” Yukie scolded the younger demons as Yune helped him up. Walking over Yukie took a seat leaving one for Tiernan beside him. Settling down more Yukie finally relaxed a little his body still full of energy.

“So army man what’s this about you stealing Yukie away from me?” Yune asked his voice stern as he glared lightly at Tiernan a hint of humor hidden in his eyes.

Yue, Yune and Yukie...Tiernan was a little afraid to ask what the other two children's name were. But other than that, he thought the couple were perfect parents for Yukie. Yune must have had spent years understanding Yukie's biology.

Dinner smelled amazing. Yue must be a good cook. For a second he was worried whether he's be able to provide the needed nutrition for Yukie's daily needs when they moved into the new house. Normally, Tiernan would just go to the nearest pub near his place to grab a bite. Sometimes one of his brothers would call him out to grab lunch or dinner together. Tiernan sat down next to Yukie as the whole family gathered around the table. He hadn't exchanged greetings with Yune, but the old man already opened with a tough question.

"To honest, Yukie was the one who swept me away," Tiernan grinned and stared sideways at the cottonball demon. "Apparently he and the publishing house agreed that he works best in seclusion so he can focus. So here I am as a knight in a rusty armor to his nan -- caretaker." Tiernan corrected himself. He refused to call himself a nanny. "Not that he couldn't take care of himself or anything. I think Yukie can handle himself, but we in the publishing industry are meddlesome people. We liked to know how things are going on with our authors and illustrators." Tiernan added, not wanting Yukie to think he was undermining his ability to take care of himself as an adult. This may be a job, but Tiernan still cared.

“Well we will have to see how it works out for the next two weeks first. I wouldn’t want him moving out only to be abandoned again” Yune replied his voice rather serious about what he felt. “In all honesty while I want my children to have freedom and live the life they want I don’t think it’s best for Yukie to leave home yet.” Yune explained as he ate a bite of food.

”father. I am fine leaving home. I have a good health routine and am much more experienced it won’t be like last time.” Yukie argued knowing when he had moved out last time it was afew months after he had returned home and in desperate need for space and alone time he had pushed leaving home hard. With his lack of experience balancing work and his health he had fallen behind and then taken ill for a few weeks. With no one able to get ahold of him his father had finally broke in the door and found him out cold on the floor with a high fever and since then they had moved him back home.

“Even so it’s not like Tiernan knows anything about you. You can’t just blindly trust people you just met!” Yune argued only pushing Yukies buttons a little as Yukie slammed his hands down on the table glaring.

”you really want to go there old man!” Yukie snapped his voice a growl as he glared down his father.

“Yukie go cool down.” Yu asked only to get a pissed off glare shot at her direction.

”he started this-“ Yukie argued only to be cut off.

“And I’m ending it! Go cool down and then come back and listen to our concerns!” Yu asked trying to be patient as Yukie huffed and stormed out of the room slamming the doors behind him in a fit of rage. “And you! Your not blameless in this! Stop poking at him.” Yu replied at Yune with a huff as she went back to eating leaving Yukie to sulk in another room.

”he doesn’t even know how dangerous the world is! He’s not a bodyguard he’s an agent his goal is to collect his work and leave just because they live together doesn’t guaranteed he’s going to care about Yukie. I just don’t think he’s ready either, medically speaking he’s still fragile” Yune explained to Yu who only silenced him so they could eat in peace.

Tiernan wondered what kind of shit Xonnor had dumped him into. He hated dramas and now he was in the middle of one. He wasn’t a stranger with fights during meals. Heck, he had four brothers, so growing up, mealtime was always a warzone. But this was a different level of fight. This was two people concerned about their son’s well being. Yune was right, he was just an agent assigned to deal with Yukie’s wellbeing so his job continued smoothly. If he was a friend or a boyfriend, he could use the relationship as a leverage.

“With all due respect, Sir,” he began after he wiped his mouth with the napkin. “You are right that I don’t know about your son that well. But, I would like to say this. You know what your son can do, his likes and dislikes, his  body condition, everything that you’ve seen so far. But what about the things you haven’t seen? His potential that he has yet to explore because he couldn’t be independent enough, his survival instincts, the lessons he will learn from his mistakes and more importantly the value of the people who cares for him if everything is always right in front of his eyes?” Tiernan laid a solid argument.

“Yukie’s not a child. I know there are parts of his past that are concerning and I can’t argue that I’m here to make sure he gets the best care anyone could ever provide, because in the end, that’s not why I’m here.” Tiernan admitted, not intending to conceal the truth that his employer was why he was there in the first place. “But from what I’ve learned of him these past couple of hours, I saw him. His eyes told me he wanted to be free. Not in the sense that he was trapped here, but he just wanted to take control of things a little.” Tiernan sigh. Things got too personal too quick. “I know that feeling. I had those feelings where you felt like every choices you made were not yours. You don’t feel like yourself but something other people had mould you into. I think Yukie wants to be himself but he doesn’t want to disappoint you if it happens to be something unexpected. I think he needs a breather and moving out would be a good start. Please excuse me.” Tiernan pushed his chair backwards and headed to where Yukie had gone to sulk.

“He makes a good point” Yue added as she ate her dinner knowing all to well that Yune was just worried about his son. Looking at the other boys she mentioned for them to eat. Yukie taking a moment was outside sitting in a chair far enough away one couldn’t see his face. The only glow was a carefully hidden cigarette that he was smoking. Blowing out some smoke Yukie sighed and looked at the stars much calmer having spent some time cooking his temper.

Tiernan found Yukie outside, smoking on the patio. "He cottonball," Tiernan called out teasingly. "Not every one has a fluffy fur and can stand being outside on the cold. My balls are gonna freeze and fall off." He moved to the chair next to the younger male and sat down. "I'm surprised they let you smoke. You're gonna have an old lady's lung if you keep going at it," he teased again. He moved closer to Yukie and reached for the cigarette, stumped it out until the embers were gone. "We need to lay down some rules if we're going to move in together. I am your manny afterall."

“You could wear a jacket.” Yukie replied rolling his eyes as he looked at Tiernan. “They don’t know about this so I would appreciate keeping this little habit between us” Yukie added not arguing as the cigarette was put out the demon knowing all to well it wasn’t a habit he should keep. “It doesn’t affect my health, and it’s a small thing I can control lately.” Yukie explained not wanting Tiernan to get the wrong idea. Listening to the man talk he nodded a little knowing eventually it would come to this. “Alright let’s discuss” Yukie added with a tiered sigh not to fond of the idea.
