Tiernan chuckled at Yukie's obliviousness. "I think anyone with a nose would know you had been smoking. I just think your parents were just trying to humor you. From what I've seen, there are very little they won't let you get away with." 

Tiernan was glad his body was warmer than most people. He didn't want to go back in just to get his pea coat, so he'd just stay there in the cold with the chinchilla boy. "First thing first, you'll do as I say within reasons," he stated the first rule. "When we're living together, I will be responsible for you. Your health, your work, your safetu...so, you're gonna need to compromise and listen to me when I ask you to do something." He knew that sounded like he was taking away Yukie's choices, but that wasn't the case. "You can do whatever you want, but you have to run things through me first. If I think it would jeopardize you in any way, I have the rights to say no. Do you understand that?" He sought Yukie's eyes to see if the younger male understood him.

"Secondly, no running away. If I catch you, I will lock you up and have my ways with you." He winked, teasing the little demon so he wouldn't be so uptight. "Unless you like that kind of play, then I'd have to think for other punishment." He grinned.

“...I can try to run things by you. But when you take days off and holidays I have free control over where and what I do no permission needed” Yukie countered understanding it would be a good thing to have someone know where he was half the time. “As for running away, I will behave I don’t really like being locked up” Yukie added knowing the man was being reasonable as he sighed and let his body relax. “On that note, having your way with me...what exactly would that entitle?” Yukie asked a little confused as he looked at Tiernan. “I know all about sex but having never dated...I’m curious if that’s something outside of basic reproduction.” Yukie asked his voice rather serious as he asked.

"As long as I know where you're going and will be safe, it's fine." Tiernan didn't mention that he hardly take days off. He liked being busy and when he's not working, he liked to stay at home catching up on things he couldn't do while working. And since he was going to be living in the same house with Yukie, he'd be able to keep an eye on him even on days off. 

Tiernan really dug his own grave with the topic. He thought younger people are more forward these days and since Yukie was already past the legal age, he'd thought the same applied. Then he remembered what Yukie had told him about the blanked ten years and mental slapped himself for being tactless. "I was just joking about that," he said apologetically, but he didn't want to treat Yukie with a kid's glove. "When there's someone you feel an attraction to, sex is not just for reproduction. It's a form of affection as well. Some people like certain things in bed. A kind of foreplay, I suppose. I...I'm kind of dominant in bed." Perhaps he was divulging a tad too much, but he wanted Yukie to be comfortable with him. "You don't have to worry though. I do it only with consensual partners," Tiernan added quickly.

“Ah...so your a pervert” Yukie replied his face blank as if he was looking at Tiernan in a new light and quietly judging. “I guess I should have expected it you act just like Andrik” Yukie admitted with a small smirk easily comparing the two in his head on what he did know about kinks. “You both might get along rather nicely. Though I doubt you’ll ever let me out of your sight after you meet him” Yukie added with a small smirk having a slightly secret night life when he was free. “While I may have no experience dating or having sex I do know about adult matters.”

”I’m really not that naive I do have a laptop and good internet.” Yukie added with a chuckle only having asked Tiernan to see what exactly he was getting into. Smirking Yukie now was knowing all to well he had a good ace up his sleeve with this information. “Why don’t we go out after we move in and I’ll have you meet some of my friends” Yukie added with a happy smirk knowing his parents knew he had some friends but they assumed Yukie had made friends with his customers.

"Of course I'm not!" Tiernan sputtered indignantly. "Being dominant doesn't mean I'm into kinks. I just like to overpower my partners, especially if one is as cute as you." He added the last part just to rile Yukie up. "Wel, aren't you the pervy one. Watch porn much?" He raised a questioning eyebrow. He didn't doubt Yukie knew about adult activities, but why were in this conversation when they hardly knew each other more than a few hours, he had no idea.

"I didn't say you're naive. I just want you to be comfortable with me around. And sure, introduce me to your friends later." He didn't really want to make new friends, but if they're Yukie's buddies, it would be good to get to know what kind of people he hung out with. "Anyway, that's for another day. Let's go inside and finish of the discussion with your parents." He got up from his seat and reached out his hands towards Yukie to take it.

“Alright, alright...should I tell them my new roommate is a closet perv?” Yukie asked teasingly as he got up taking his new friends hand and holding it close while turning back to the house. “I mean your on pretty good standing as it is would be a shame if you lost it~” Yukie teased with a smile enjoying messing with Tiernan. “I’ll behave if you can agree to a lock on my door so I can take breaks from you if needed” Yukie asked knowing it was a stretch but he did want to have a small amount of control when it came to being around people. “ I want to know I can truly have some space to myself that no one can force their way into...they won’t budge on it after not being able to get into the apartment when I got sick.” Yukie explained with a small sigh looking in at his parents who had finished putting the kids to bed and where waiting for them quietly talking between the two. Standing and watching it was clear Yukie wasn’t wanting to go back in to their worry and fear they had upset him or pushed him to much in Yukies mind he worried they would always see him as frail and needing protection.

"Are you sure it's a good idea to tell your friends you're going to be living with a perv? Not that I am one, mind you." Tiernan stressed. This kid was really asking for it but Tiernan wasn't going to do anything that crossed his professionalism line...not that the ship hadn't already sailed. "You'll have your control over things, I promised." He whispered in Yukie's ear before they faced his parents. His hand was still holding the little demon's, but he led Yukie to the seat opposite of his parents and told him to sit down. "Go on, tell them why you needed to move out." he encourage the young male.

“...I...don’t want you guys worrying about my health or seeing me as frail and needing your protection. I can take care of myself and...if I keep staying with you and having you worry about me I won’t be able to have my own life and family.” Yukie explained his voice breaking as he refused to look at them his heart sinking. “I want to learn how to be who I am and...I need to learn my roots. I will always love you as my parents and want to visit but I don’t like being confined to the house and not being able to live naturally! Sometimes I miss being back at the facility....because I at least could try and be what I am.”

”I’m not a half demon like the others...I need to run around and eat what I want. And be part of nature or choose to be apart if society.” Yukie whispered knowing that his parents had tried so hard to get him accepted into the human and half demon society and well by telling them this it was as if he was going back on all their dreams they had created for him. “I need to find out who and what I am I don’t want anymore testing or lab work...I want to have a chance to be more like a demon...I want to be me” Yukie finished looking up at the two as he broke down crying having been pent up about this issue since he was rather young and started feeling pressured to fit in.
 

”have you always felt like this?” Yune asked as he walked over to Yukie and gently held his hand. “I didn’t think we where being so forceful...is that why you ran away back then?” Yune asked his own voice shaking at the though they had been pushing Yukie further away and without knowing it forcefully placing him down a path he didn’t want.

Tiernan kept a respectful distance while Yukie was having a private moment with his family. He remembered when he was under treatment, his family had been constantly on his case. They didn't lost their son to the war, but they almost lost him to the trauma. Tiernan wasn't himself when he came back but his family, with their love and support had mended him somewhat. But after a while it had turned suffocating, like he was a time bomb waiting to explode. His family was always treating him like fragile glass ready to shatter. Connor was the one who had helped him break free from that smothering familiar love and allowed him to be himself again. For that, he owed his brother-in-law.

As for Yukie, he found some kind of connection although their situation was different. Yukie wasn't human and Tiernan had zero idea about him which in a way was a good thing because they could start everything fresh. No prejudice, no judging. He just wanted to understand Yukie and let him be what he wanted to be. If that helped him with his job, that's bonus. Tiernan was fully committed to see to his cottonball's success.

Tiernan decided he should contribute his opinion a little. "Every children wants their parents to be proud. I guess that's why Yukie had been quite about it," he said thoughtfully. "I'm sure he didn't hide it from you on purpose."

“I love you both. And I do want you to be proud of me...but I need some space I don’t want to fear what kind of monster I am because I never learned how to function around others. You remember at the hospital, I couldn’t come home for awhile until I learned to behave in this form and not bite you.” Yukie explained as Yue nodded.

”it was hard for you...you where so ashamed of embarrassing us. You shut down every time you changed...” Yue added as she walked over and gently cleaned away her sons tears.

”you need space to learn...and this is something we can’t help you with” Yune added feeling even more proud of his son for acknowledging the side of him he was afraid to show the world. “We will give you the space you need and step back. But don’t forget we are always here for you” Yune added with a small smile as he hugged Yukie tightly. “No matter what form or who you become...you’ll always be our son” Yune whispered as Yukie held onto his parents tightly and just cried his heart bursting with happiness at a freedom he had been so afraid to ask for.

Tiernan smiled. Looked like his chinchilla boy will have his way. "If it helps," he chipped into the conversation. "I'm trained in combat and have worked with other paranormals before. Even though this is my first time meeting someone like Yukie, I think I won't be easily shaken like most people. I mean, my first impression of him was of a little brat, but I think after a few hours we got along well, don't you think so, Cottonball?" he teased Yukie in front of his parents just to cheer them up. 

"If you don't mind, I need to make a phone call to the publishing company." He looked at Yue who pointed at the front parlor so he could have his phone call privately. Once he was away from the family, Tiernan pulled out his phone and dialed Connor's number. " You SOB! Next time you send a guy on an assignment, you better tell them what they're getting into," he whispered harshly when Connor picked up the phone, didn't even bother with a hello. "You're gonna make sure his house is move in ready. I need WiFi, surveillance camera around the perimeter and enforced wall." Demanded Tiernan. If Yukie wanted to shift forms in the house, they need to make sure they have thick walls and less fragile decorations. 

"But thanks anyway," Tiernan said after the long string of demands and curses. "Maybe he's someone I need in my life." He hated Connor setting him up, but he had a feeling this was exactly what he needed.

Settling down Yukie talked a little more with his parents as Tiernan left him alone. By the time they had figured out a fair agreement that met everyone’s demands. “You okay?” Yukie asked poking his head into the front parlor wanting to give Tiernan space but also out of curiosity was wondering who he had called. “Did someone get in trouble?” Yukie asked already rather fond of Tiernan and worried he had gotten him in trouble or one of his clients where being to harsh with him. Walking in more Yukie looked at the man before him wondering how this would all work out since he had never had a roommate before.

Tiernan smiled when the little demon came to check up on him. "I'm good," he said, putting back his phone into his pocket. He walked up to Yukie and wrapped an arm around the short boy's shoulder, which was rather awkward with the height difference between them. "You're going to need more veggies. And meat. Meat is a good source of iron." He deducted, fully committed as his role in Yukie's life. "What do you say we go to your office, clean up some of the mess so that I can call a mover to send us some boxes tomorrow." He streered Yukie toward the room they were earlier in the day. "But, if you'd like to take a rest or go find something to eat since you didn't get to eat much earlier, I'm good with that too."

He wondered about Yukie's favourite food. During the fight, Yukie mentioned he wanted to eat what he wanted to eat, so did that mean he had a special diet? "Tell me, what's your favourite food?" He asked hesitantly. His cooking repertoire was limited as it is. Although he loved home cooked meals, he loved eating them more than making them.

“Ugh you sound like mom” Yukie admitted with a small groan annoyed that everyone was so fixated on vegetables. Walking with Tiernan Yukie sat on a chair thinking about how to best answer his question. “Well...some people like their stake rare right? I tend to enjoy mine more...bloody” Yukie admitted the subject of his eating habits being an awkward area. “Don’t get me wrong I do enjoy normal everyday foods but the more demon part of me enjoys more raw meat and fish. I also, occasionally am allowed imitation blood” Yukie admitted with a small shrug.

 

“Back in the facility where I lived I grew a taste for hunting for my food. Granted I can’t do that lately so I settle with less cooked options.” Yukie explained as he sat cross legged on the chair. “I do enjoy having salads and sandwiches and such but every now and then I do require more...primal foods to keep myself sane. As I’m learning to keep myself under control I satiate my hunger and hunting drive with a hard excessive exercise routine and then lots of meat. It helps and I keep a healthy weight that way.” Yukie explained having had quite a routine but due to his two week cold he had abandoned it hence the spike in annoyance when it came to meals.

 

“It grosses my parents out so I tend to eat alone or skip those meals and uptake my grains and vegetable intake” Yukie finished not holding back anything about himself now.

"Well, I'm a steak man myself," Tiernan replied and took the seat opposite Yukie. "Though I prefer mine medium. What kind of meat are talking about? Nothing endangered, I hope?" He went hunting a few times when he was younger with his brothers. They rented out a cabin in the woods on holidays and caught deer a few time. There were some pheasants as well, but Tiernan guessed they would be too small to satiate Yukie's demon side. "If you need to have meat for your demon side, you surely need veggies for your not-so-demon side as well. I'll make sure it comes with raw broccoli and carrot to complement the dish. As long as you use your fork and knife, I don't see any reason why we need to eat separately. I'm not really queasy. It's fine by me." There's no point having a roommate if Yukie had to eat alone. 

"I'd be sure to set up our own home gym. I could use a workout myself." He thought about some exercise machines he could move into the house from his current home. "Would you like a custom-made hamster wheel?" Tiernan teased. "That'll burn your energy for sure. Too bad I'm not your boyfriend. There are other ways to put that energy to good use," He said, no longer care about the innuendos implied. Yukie made himself clear he wasn't a prude.

“Basic normal meat. I only hunt when camping and even then it’s supervised hunting” Yukie replied with a shrug. “I eventually want to try and phase out the need for actual hunting and bloody meat I use to eat a normal diet and exercised a lot but living as I did for ten years changed that” Yukie explained with a small frown wanting to go back to having more normal delicious meals so he could move away from bloody meat. Thinking onto the exercising situation Yukie thought for a moment thinking about the offer. “I would actually like that. It’s a good alternative when it comes to running in the rain and I really doubt you would let me pull you in a sled in the winter like my siblings do” Yukie added with a small smirk.

 “If you can get one I wouldn’t mind it.” Yukie added having grown tiered of treadmills.  Hearing the last comment Yukie raised a brow. “Does sex really provide that much of a workout?” Yukie asked his answer pretty curious but unknowingly screaming virgin.

"You mentioned about drinking imitation blood," An idea flickered in Tiernan's mind. "Maybe we could gradually cook your meat so that you could get used to eating a cooked meat again. We'll start with rare, then the next time you crave it, we'll sear it, just a little. It it works, the next time after that, we'll sear it on both sides, until we can get you to eat cooked meat again. You'll still be consuming the blood if it you need something bloody. I don't know if this would work out, but it's worth a try, don't you think so?" He wasn't going to change Yukie's diet if his body needed it in a certain way, but if it was forced by someone upon him when he was in captive, maybe they could reverse it somehow.

"I'd rather you not pull me on a sled because you're not an animal," Tiernan said bluntly. Although it was fine for Yukie to play like that with his younger sibling, it didn't sit well with Tiernan if he made Yukie do that for him. "Well go for usual runs if you need legwork. I don't mind a few miles a day."

Tiernan wondered how much Yukio know about sex. "With me, yes. We'd be going at it all night long." Then suddenly a thought came to Tiernan's mind. "You mentioned about reproduction. Does that mean you're able to conceive?"

“That could work” Yukie replied liking the idea of cooking his food more so he could eat out more easily. When Tiernan mentioned he wasn’t an animal Yukie was confused for a second not sure if he understood right. “Ummm I’m not in a normal form for that. I do have another form I stay and hunt in...I don’t hunt in this form” Yukie added trying to clarify that he had a bigger wolf form. “I pull the sled like a sled dog does. You know, Father says I’m a bigger wolf then normal but I act more like a husky.” Yukie explained with a blush as he looked at Tiernan.

At the mention of being able to conceive Yukie instantly got shy as his face turned scarlet...”um...yeah, I can conceive. I have a natural week of heat like most demons but I take medicine to counteract it so I don’t have any side affects or become to...indecent” Yukie mumbled the subject being rather sensitive since he had been rather careful to keep that information hidden.
“when I hit eighteen my body started going into a blank year where nothing can happen other then growing a womb” Yukie explained playing with his shirt knowing most demons have their infertile year at eighteen and then at nineteen and twenty start looking for a partner to settle down with. “I was in medicine while away but when I came back home, and was in the  hospital I went into actual heat.  Due to the fact I was really starting to eat better and became healthy.”

”Naturally my body resumed its ability to be able to conceive. My first heat at home was painful and I’m glad Yune was able to give me a shot instead of pills...since then I’ve strictly been medicating and tracking it so I don’t end up in pain like that again.” Yukie mumbled embarrassed about being part of the percentage that could conceive.

"I don't mean you're not an animal because I haven't seen your other form. What I meant was you're an individual. Even when you transform, you still retain other things from your different form, don't you? Like your memories, your feelings...so to me you're not an animal." Tiernan said truthfully. To him, creatures that retained their humanity even with difficulties in other form were still individuals. He won't treat Yukie like a person in one form then treat him like a dog in another regardless of how adorable that may be.

"Oh..." Tiernan struggled to digest. Yukie can carry children. He heard of some paranormals who could, but this was the first time he knew of one. "There's nothing to be ashamed of, really. I think that's wonderful. I mean, you'd make cute babies, I'm sure. I wonder if they'd look like you or like me -- I mean, not that you and I are going to make babies. I was just imagining, you know, how they'd look like..." Tiernan felt a flush crept to his face for loosing his cool like that. He cleared his throat and looked at Yukie. "I want you to let me know if you're not comfortable when I'm around. I heard heats are quite intense. It's good that you have your medication, but relying too much on them is not a good thing as well."

“ it’s one of the reasons I wanted a lock on my door. I haven’t had a heat away from home usually I’m heavily medicated and sedated to get through it. I’m worried I might cross a boundary with you” Yukie explained nervous about this part of living together. “I don’t really know what would happen if I was awake for it but I want to try and learn how to handle it without sleeping for a week straight” Yukie admitted his face even more red as Yukie thought about what it would be like being dominated by a lover. Looking away Yukie his his face in his knees needing a moment to calm his nerves.

 

“...I I’m, I need a minute to calm down.” Yukie replied easily getting up as he stripped his clothes off and opened one of the windows and plopped out into a thick pile of snow sinking into it instantly to cool his body so he wasn’t triggered into an early heat by this man who Yukie was only falling all the more for. Feeling the snow touch his body Yukie let his form change back to a more human body and just let the stinging cold bring him back to reality.

Tiernan was shocked not just from Yukie's confession but also from the young demon taking off his shirt and buried himself in the snow. The snow wasn't so deep, but he knew how cold it was from his experiences making snow angels when he was a kid. He wanted to go out there and convince Yukie that things would be alright and despite him being flirtatious, Tiernan knew how to a gentleman. But the cottonball wanted some space, so Tiernan let him take his time and stayed inside without taking his eyes on the chinchilla boy buried in the shallow snow. 

After a few minutes, Tiernan though he'd gave Yukie enough silence. "You know, I'm not that experienced in a relationship. My ideal plan for a date is beer at a pub. So, you're not the only inexperienced here," Tiernan called out from the door, still staying inside, but watching Yukie in the snow. "Everyone had it differently, it's not an accomplishment or something you'd compete about. It's how you grow as a person. Maybe one day you'll find someone to fall in love with. It could be me or it could be anybody else in the world. Who knows." He admitted. He wasn't going to discourage the attraction between them. "Come in, you'd been outside for a while. We need to start packing your stuff."

“You make it sound so easy” Yukie replied as he stood outside the window looking very much human his body red from the cold and shivering as he stood naked. Having changed into a human like form he walked back up to the window and crawled in and slipped his pants on letting his body slowly warm up. “I wouldn’t even know how to prop ask you out even if I wanted and...I-I want to but, shouldn’t I at least give myself a week to get to know you?” Yukie asked his face embarrassed yet serious about his question. Looking at the mess under his feet Yukie huffed and started gathering up papers his brain a whirlwind of emotions. “I like being around you, but we’ve only know each other for a day and despite every bit of my being screaming to stay by your side I’m afraid I’ll push things to fast!” Yukie explained still picking up papers as he refused to looked at the man beside him.

Tiernan wanted to reply, but Yukie in his human form was something else. He was as cute as a chinchilla in his usual form, but in his hurman form, he was flawless. He took a couple of deep breaths to calm the stirring in his groin area. He wouldn't be able to face Yukie's parents if he sported a hard on on the job. Although, if what Yukie said about his mother was true, she'd be planning their wedding and grandbabies even before Yukie moved out.

"I think this talk about dating is a bit premature." Tiernan finally found his voice. "I mean, I haven't even been here for a whole day. I'm not saying that it's impossible for us to date, but let's not jump too quickly. Maybe once we moved in together you'd hate me and I don't want that because I really like you." He told the younger male. "Soe, " he extended his hand toward Yukie. "Friends for now?" he offered.

“I’m fine with friends for now.” Yukie agreed as he took the mans hand his face still flushed from the cold.

”your going to catch your death playing in the snow like that!” Yu gasped out having come by to check on the two and settle sleeping arrangements for the night. “Seriously you can’t go out in the snow half dressed! Do you want to catch another cold!!!” Yu asked with a annoyed huff instantly closing the window to keep the cold air out. “Honestly! I come back to ask you both if your fine sharing a bed for the night and I find you both playing in the cold snow” Yu added already wondering if she should prepare a hot drink for them both.

Tiernan and Yukie had just came to an agreement that they were going to take things slow and Yukie’s mother were telling them to share the night in the same bed? Thankfully Tiernan didn’t move much because – army vet. “I’m alright with sharing, if you think its ok. But I don’t mind taking the couch either,” Tiernan told them. He didn’t want to make Yukie uncomfortable or worse, accidentally touch him inappropriately while sleeping. Also, there were his nightmares. It didn’t come as often, but he could never say for sure.
