Dammit! He knew Yukie would do shit like this! "I knew it! That's why he wanted you to go with him!" Tiernan growled. What was Yukie thinking? They had children now, he can't go doing reckless things. Tiernan told Rownan to stay in front of the walk-in closet and keep and eye on his family while he take care of the mess. "Where did you last saw him?" he asked the centaur. It was a long shot even for him to get Yukie to come home if he didn't want to. His mate was so stubborn! Did he forget what happened the last time he attacked humans? "He better not be caught, or I'll cut his hair!" Tiernan spouted empty threat because there was no way he could harm his mate, so hair was the best bet.

“It was deep in the forest but he was going down an old dirt path.” Rownan explained as he looked at Tiernan not sure what to do.

”why don’t you sit down and we can tend to that wound. Looks like he bit you pretty bad” Yue explained noticing the small shaking of Rownans arm. As Yue helped Rownan sit down she carefully looked at the deep teeth marks Yukies had left noticing they weren’t wolf and where his actual demon teeth. “Tiernan. While I do want you to go after Yukie I want all of your men human and demon to come back home and leave him alone” Yue added as she grabbed a first aid kit and started cleaning the wound. “These kind of bites...they aren’t ones you want to mess with” she explained as she worked. “Yukie has venom and this one is a nasty type the only reason Rownan isn’t sick on the floor begging to be put out of his misery is due to his size and amount of venom in his arm” Yue explained before digging in the bag and handed Rownan some anti venom pills to take.
 

“Mmh I’ll help you shave him bald” Rownan replied with a small sharp intake of breath as his arm was moved more so Yue could clean it. “God...he’s something else. This shit hurts” Rownan hissed his other hand clenching as he looked away from Yue cleaning the deeply ripped into wound. “I only grabbed him to take him back I didn’t think he would change forms and rip into my arm...I only held him for a few minutes” Rownan mumbled feeling rather dizzy as his words slurred.

“Yukies demon form is beautiful but it’s scary...he’s so strong in that form I’m surprised he didn’t rip your arm off and then rip out your throat.” Yue mumbled as she continued treating the wound watching Rownan nervously.

Tiernan sighed. He should have never let Yukie go. What was his mate thinking attacking people? Weren't he the one who said he wanted to do things without bloodshed? Now that he was out attacking people, the old man would have greater excuse to eliminate demons. He would manipulate this event to suit his cause and whatever they had been doing in the past months - Yukie's journeys and Tiernan's task force - would be for nothing. 

Tiernan made a phone call to the task force HQ so that they would call all agents to retreat. If Yukie somehow but any of them, Tiernan would have hell to pay, heck, the task force might even shut down. He was so angry that Yukie did all this without thinking. Yes, he knew Yukie's instinct was unstable because of the pregnancy, the delivery and stuff, but if he knew he was going to go full demon on the old man, he shouldn't have left. 

"You know what," Tiernan turned around and faced Yue who was treating the injured centaur. "I'm going to stay and take care of my children. I've called back all enforcement so no one would be in his way, but I have other responsibility now than indulging my moody mate." He knew he was being unfair, but Yukie was too. How dare he made Tiernan choose between protecting their children and going out looking for his mate who should have known better than to start a war. "He's the strongest demon out there, then I'm sure he'll b able to protect himself and come back when he remembers that he has three children who are still nursing."

“He may be moody but you got to look at how he feels...your family got hurt because of him.” Rownan added with a soft gasp as Yue winced at the clean blood finally coming through meaning the venom was pushing out. “H-he’s angry...he can’t do anything to stop it and he’s caged in one spot unable to touch the old man or any other demon hunter.” Rownan finished with a small groan at the sudden wave of pain finishing its pathway as Yue started bandaging up the man. Looking at their pups and back at Tiernan Rownan frowned a little as the night passed and morning finally broke over the city and hills surrounding them. As the sun started to peek through Yukie stepped into the house and into the bathroom turning on the hot water he showered off the blood and dirt from his adventure. While he had let his rage consume him he had been better behaved and had done justice in his mind. Taking a deep breath Yukie scrubbed his body clean his chest aching and reminding him with a sharp pain as it had done throughout the hours he was gone that his pups needed to eat. Looking in at the party in the closet Yukie stood in a clean t shirt and shorts and carefully picked up a baby while settling down and nursed his body a touch sleepy but he would sleep after they where cared for.

"So it didn't matter if he hurt you? Someone who is like a family? What's the difference then?" Tiernan asked indignantly. What if Yukie had bitten him instead? Injecting his venom in a mere human, will that justify him taking revenge for Aidan and Connor. No feedback came from Rownan and Yue, so he let the issue rest for the night. Val fell asleep beside him after watching cartoon and Tiernan checked the babies once in a while, to see if they needed sustenance. Thankfully they were sound asleep until Yukie walked in and acted like nothing happened. 

"Glad that you still remember your way home," he said. It wasn't like he was purposely starting a fight, but he was angry that Yukie thought he could get away with what he did. The two of them had been at each other's throats since the day before. He wondered what changed. Maybe the separation had drew a wedge between them. It wasn't like Tiernan didn't love Yukie anymore, but he couldn't understand what his mate was thinking and Yukie had been doing whatever he wanted without caring about Tiernan's opinion.

“I punished the person responsible for hurting my mates family. I can’t stand by and let them walk around like that. Granted your task force will be busy now hunting hunters instead of worrying about the old man.” Yukie replied as he carefully patted stars back looking down at his mate. “I went with the intention of hunting down the men. Fully decided to just rip into them...but really they are being paid for their part in this. So I went after the man in charge it was satisfying changing him into the very thing he hated the most” Yukie replied having changed the old man into a very low level demon with the only ability being to change into fluffy bunny. “While it doesn’t excuse my absence I can’t just stand aside on this on seeing your family being dragged into danger. Their family deserves to be safe also.” Yukie explained with a frown as he sat down and looked at Tiernan more. “I’ll apologize to Rownan when I see him...I didn’t mean to get so heated.” Yukie added knowing he was in the wrong but...well he had in his mind served a well deserved punishment cursing the old man to live longer as the very thing he despised and well...now he was living in the very world Yukie had grown up in and was learning the world he left for his great grandchildren was terrifying.

"You don't think I can handle it? Or at the very least work on it together?" Tiernan sighed. He wanted to say more, but he was so tired staying up all night checking on the children. His back was also hurting from sleeping on the floor. "By the way, Aidan is okay. The surgery went well. The bullet missed everything vital but since its his shoulder, he needs to go through a short therapy to get his arm to function fully again. Connor only had minor scrapes and cuts." He knew he was calm because Aidan and Connor only had minor injuries. If it was the opposite, Tiernan would go all out on the attackers as well, only, he wasn't going to rush head on the way Yukie did. He was going to need to the HQ soon to deal with the issue. First thing first, Tiernan needed a little shut eye, so he closed his eyes and went to sleep.

(Argh! I forgot! My bad. )

”trust me if I wasn’t afraid of anyone else getting hurt I would have dragged you there! But would you have let me punish him? Would you have wanted me to calm down and not even do anything?” Yukie asked with a frown as he looked at his mate. “All the years I suffered...the pain and humiliation...I finally got some respect back some dignity.” Yukie replied wishing his mate could see why he did what he did. “He’s not even able to hurt a fly and now knows what’s it’s like being treated like so many others he’s hunted and hurt.” Yukie whispered a deep pain in his eyes as he looked at Tiernan. “...I needed some closure even if it was rash and aggressive...I needed it. Knowing what and who I am lead to finally standing up to him” Yukie added with a small sigh as he tucked Stella back in and carefully nursed sky. “You should understand as my mate...I didn’t think you where weak or couldn’t handle yourself if I did I wouldn’t have left you to watch over our babies if it came between staying with you and our kids or hunting down the monster that did this...I would have stayed. I don’t want us to always live in fear...I want to be a normal family one day like I are going outside and like your brothers have” Yukie finished knowing he was an ass for causing Tiernan worry but he did it for a good reason.

Yukie kept talking even though Tiernan was trying to sleep. He heard bits a pieces, but at the moment, he was too tired to deal with it. Since Yukie was back, he can look after their children while Tiernan took some rest. He knew Yukie deserved a rest too, but it was his choice to leave the nest and came back in the morning, so he'll have to deal with it for a while more. 

He managed to get about four hours of sleep, so when he woke up, he was feeling hungry. He needed to go into the HQ at noon, so even though his body was all sore, Tiernan got up. Val was sleeping beside him, so Tiernan tucked him properly in the nest and went to take a shower in the bathroom. There was traces of blood and dirt in there, and Tiernan knowingly it was from Yukie's little rampage. He turned on the water and washed away all the traces, not wanting to think about it when he hardly had enough rest. Once he was done with the shower and got dressed, He peeked into the nest again. 

"I'm going downstairs to make some food. Steak for you and Val?" he asked. The last time Val ate was dinner, so the young demon must have been hungry. And Yukie had been hunting the whole night. Tiernan could only imagine how famished he would be, coupled with nursing three children.

“I want eggs” Val mumbled sleepily as he clung to Yukies side also the demon caring for river who was nursing. “I like eggs” Val added as he rubbed his eyes not liking the light from the door as Yukie kissed his head.

”I’m fine. I can make myself food after I’ve settled the kids safely in the nursery. I’ll also look into getting Vals room set up...it’s not healthy to stay in the nest to long.” Yukie added knowing he could make a simple snuggle down nest in each of the kids rooms.

Tiernan walked over to the sleepy bunch and kissed Yukie on his forehead. "I'm already making breakfast, it's not a big deal to cook for you as well," he said, moving to ruffled Val's hair and kissed his children. "We can set up another bed in the nursery for Val. It's a big room, and it would be lonely for Val if he had to sleep alone." Tiernan thought it was too soon for the young demon to be by himself after what he had been though. He didn't have any nightmares or anything the night before, but Tiernan would like to keep an eye a little longer on him. 

Before heading downstairs to make breakfast, Tiernan sat down and looked at Yukie. He knew he didn't want to talk about it before he went to sleep this morning, but it won't do them good ignore the problem. "I'm going into the HQ later. We have to look at any damage from last night. It's a big deal when I give them orders and all, so I have to explain to the people on top," he told Yukie. Although he was in charge of the task force, the military was still behind it, so Tiernan needed to present them with a report. Someone was hurt - Aidan and Connor who were civilians, then someone from the other party was hurt by Yukie. He needed to explain that the counter-attack was justified. "Will it be a problem if I leave for a while? I know you can handle things here, but what do you feel about it? Will you be upset?"

(Ugh I swear my brain just doesn’t process names well I get easily confused 😅🥲 sorry about the forgetfulness.)

“I feel alright knowing you need to go...I just feel bad I caused you trouble and am worried I’ll be in trouble.” Yukie admitted as he held sky close. “I don’t want to make your job harder” Yukie added with a small frown as he looked at his mate his body a touch tense. “I will feel lonely. The house is to big and quiet. I don’t like the silence or the emptiness” Yukie admitted being honest with his mate.

Tiernan took Yukie's hand and kissed his knuckles. "You're not in trouble, it's just some protocol I have to follow," he explained. Although some of the commanding officers would be a little harsh in questioning him, He knew they would listen to reasons. "It is not just a job to me, Yukie. I started the task force for you, so whatever it is, I hope you would listen and talk to me in the future, not just rush out like last night. I'm not here to lord over you. We're fighting the same cause." He reminded his mate. 

"Yue and Rownan are still here, so you won't be alone. I think you could use their help with the children. I'm only going to be away for two, three hours at tops. I would come home before dinner." Tiernan wanted to stay home with his mate and his children. The house was still a strange place for Yukie, so he might be more wary of it. "If you miss my scent, you have all my clothes down here." he smiled, patting the nest Yukie had made form his clothes.

“Mmh well I know I’m in trouble for biting Rownan.” Yukie replied with a frown as he settled their baby back down into the basket and stretched. 
 

“and I’ll hold that grudge for a week winning every battle and argument and then forgive you.” Rownan added coming up with a bottle of blood for Yukie to drink. “Change of plans Yue got a call to go out and pick up a couple of her kids something about egging a house. Anyway she’s going home for the night to ground and deal with the troublemakers.” Rownan informed Tiernan and Yukie. “So it’s just us some cheesy movies and some brownies” Rownan offered wanting to get Yukie out of the closet and into a better space for the kids.

”I get to make the popcorn...” Yukie mumbled as he carried the babies to the living room with a giant blanket that was Tiernan’s and went to settle on the couch.

”don’t worry I can handle Yukie well enough. Take your time if needed.” Rownan added as he picked up Val and handed him off to another centaur who was waiting in the room. “This is redwood. He tends to your garden and the forest with three others. He’s offered to step in to help with the kids in yues absence. Yukie knows him well enough.” Rownan added as he watched the other male jump as Yukie popped out waiting for them to join him in the other room. “He’s good with plants. So you can see why the two get along” Rownan added as the semi elderly centaur carried Val off to where Yukie was settled down in front of the tv

Tiernan shook hands with Redwood. He was a little startled when the other centaur jumped at the sight of Yukie, but Tiernan found it amusing. Yukie could be scary sometimes even in his cute chinchilla form. He was glad that Rownan was offering his friends to help with Yukie and the children while he would be away at work. Although Rownan told him to take his time, he still wanted to come home before dinner so he could eat with them. 

Tiernan went back to their bedroom to change. He wore his taskforce uniform that was similar to his previous military ones. Tiernan went to his office next and strapped his weapon under his jacket before going back to the living room where Yukie and the children and the centaurs were starting a movie with a bowl of popcorns on each of their laps. Tiernan smiled and went to Yukie who was snuggling under his blanket. "I'll be home soon. Don't do anything I won't," he said, bending down to kiss Yukie on his lips. He haven't been kissing his mate for some time, so he decided to leave Yukie with a little something to remember him by.

“I can smell the gunpowder. Make sure to lock it in a small gun safe before coming back inside the house. Val is curious.” Yukie replied looking at Tiernan as he blushed a little at the kiss turning back to the movie to hide his embarrassment. “ also...be safe and come back soon.” Yukie mumbled his cheeks reddening as his chinchilla tail swished softly the demon feeling well enough to change forms once again.

Tiernan chuckled at Yukie's reaction. Who said people who had kids will lose their sparks. "I keep them in my office. Secured gun safe. I worry about our kids as much as you do," he kissed Yukie's nose then kissed all the children's cheeks including Val's. "You, I'm not gonna kiss," he said jokingly at the eldest centaur. "But thanks for being our glorified babysitter. See you in a few hours." He stood back up and straightened his uniform. 

Before leaving the compound, Tiernan contacted the guards at the gate, telling them he was going to pass. The security had been strengthened since the night before and more guards had been placed around the perimeter of their house and land. Thanks to the perimeter check, Tiernan's drive to the city was without any incident. He parked at the HQ and made his way inside. The building was tightly secured and can only be accessed by authorized personal and those with special permission. Tiernan made his way to the board room to face his upper ups. 

"Liutenant McCabe, we've heard about last night's incident. Tell us if your version is any different." The first person asked him. There were four person in total and Tiernan had been in service under them. They were reasonable people and Tiernan sure just like they supported his cause, they would listen to reason.

"My mate gave birth the night before last. Our family members came over to help and two of them were attacked as they were leaving the perimeter. I called for reinforcements, but the attackers escape. My mate went after them, and he delivered a punishment he deemed worthy. It wasn't life threatening, but slightly life changing." He chose his words carefully.

“Mmh you wish you could kiss all of my sexiness.” The older centaur replied as he looked at Yukie who settled down more in the blankets not noticing Rownan getting up to cook and clean up the house a touch.

"Seems like a tiny amount of venom was transferred to out opposition leader. I'm not sure what his next action would be, but I don't think we should call it quits yet," Tiernan informed the commanders. Even if the old man was turned into the being that he hated the most, the stubborn mule that he is, he could be in denial of what he had become and still see demons as his enemy. His hatred could be even worse now that Yukie had changed him. 

The commanders talked amongst themselves for a while then when they reached their decision, they looked at Tiernan who was waiting. " Keep with the current arrangement. We don't know his capacity yet, so cover all blind spots."

Tiernan nodded his affirmative and saluted the higher ranking officers. He was glad they were not so pissed off. Tiernan went to his office and regroup some of his agents so that they could plan their next strategy. It was quarter to five before he was done and drove back home, He missed his mate so much, as well as his children - Val included. He wondered what was for dinner.

Rownan had been busy cleaning the house top to bottom and well he had cleaned up all of the laundry in the nest washing it all clean he ended up hanging up the clothes and setting the blankets back on the bed while Yukie was watching a couple of movies. Turning his attention to the kitchen he got to work slicing the meat to make a hearty stew and some fresh rolls and salad. Taking his time he worked quietly only being bothered once or twice by Val who needed the restroom.

When Tiernan stopped at the guard posts, he handed them some take out food and told them to rotate when taking breaks. They should have been briefed about the new strategy and as highly trained guards, they knew what they needed to do. Driving towards the main house, Tiernan parked the car in the garage and came in through the door next to the kitchen. He smelled some meat sizzling and saw Rownan in the kitchen. "Tell me Yukie put you on his payroll. I don't think I can afford to pay you as our butler," he joked as a greeting. The human walked to the kitchen counter and placed down a box of desserts that he picked up on his way home. He knew demons liked steaks, but Val and Yukie could try some nice desserts too. He bought enough for them and for the centaurs as well. 

"Where's the little prince?" Tiernan asked Rownan, seeing that no one came to greet him yet even though Yukie would have heard his car and scented him by now? "Still watching movies?"

“I’m paid handsomely to be your children’s nanny when needed and to care for the house it’s why I came here” Rownan added with a small chuckle. At the mention of Yukie Rownan sighed a touch as he pointed to the laundry room with the light on. “He’s being dramatic. He’s been sulking in the dryer started an hour after you left. I washed your bedding and clothes...your house doesn’t need to be bathed in your scent all the time and he shouldn’t live in a nest forever he’s given birth and needs to move out for vals sake and yours” Rownan added as he shrugged not finding it to big of an issue.

Tiernan was glad that Rownan was there to help Yukie run the household. Such a prince, his mate. When he heard Yukie was sulking, it was hard to fight a smile. It reminded him when they first got together and Yukie was so clingy of him. "I take it Val and the triplets are being watched by Redwood?" He asked, seeing that the younger centaur was not in the kitchen helping Rownan. Upon the older centaur's confirmation, Tiernan excused himself and first, headed into his office to lock his weapons before heading into the laundry room.

"Not what I expect to see when I come home," he said amusedly, finding Yukie sulking there. Tiernan began loosening his necktie and took of his jacket. He put them on top of the dryer and proceeded to unbuttoned his dress shirt. The human took it off his body and handed it to Yukie. He had been wearing the shirt for hours, so his scent was strongest there. "Now stop sulking so we could eat dinner and enjoy some desserts I brought home." Tiernan looked into the dryer, took out a dried, wrinkled shirt and put it on since he gave Yukie his worn shirt. He sat down next to his mate and kissed his head. "I'm home."

“Rownan is stern...” Yukie mumbled with an annoyed huff as he snuggled the shirt lovely before turning and watching his mate change. Seeing Rownan sit down next to him only made Yukie stop and stare for a moment before he climbed into his mates lap burying his face in his mates neck. “The babies are fine. Rownans mate is watching them” Yukie added as he listened softly to redwood playing with the infant Val off exploring the house a touch more. “I missed you” Yukie mumbled softly having been rather lonely with his mate gone and despite the company he had tried to be patient and wait for him to come back without needing to seek a quieter place to hide with the pups.

"That's because Rownan is not in love with you. If I'm any more strict, I would feel so bad for upsetting my mate," He chuckled and  put his arms around Yukie as the demon climbed into his lap. Then he realized what Yukie said. "Redwood is Rownan's mate?" he asked, slightly surprised. Rownan introduced him as someone from his tribe, not his mate, but Tiernan was glad the couple could spin time together rather than Rownan being kept busy monitoring Yukie. 

Tiernan reached up to Yukie's chinchilla ears and gently stroke it. IT was so soft and his tail was also fluffy. "I don't mind having a little time alone with my mate. But this is the laundry room. It's not exactly a comfortable place to cuddle. There was only a washing machine, a dryer, a sink and ironing equipment in there with baskets of folded laundry and washed sheets. "Seems like Rownan kept himself busy while I was away," he said as he looked around.
