"Ritsu .... w-what is it? Are you in pain? How are you feeling?" he started asking quickly checking him out making sure that nothing was wrong with him. Then he noticed the food tray for both of them. He had order food for him. Even though he is the one injured and all, he was thinking about him. His chest was in pain but he smiled gently. "Let me help you with this" he said taking the bowl of soup and the spoon as he sat on the edge of the bed, wanting to feed him.

It hurt to move his fingers around too much but if he didn't move them the medicine could do it job to block the pain. "You need to eat too." He accepted it though happy to be eating something. It would probably be a couple days before he could use his hands without too much pain. All his nails were cracked and broken from digging into the wall. So later he'd need to trim his nails down. 

Opening his mouth to eat he was glad he was there but also it saddened him, "...are you okay?... I'm sorry I got captured..." Ritsu felt raw, exhausted and just done with everything. The last few days were a blur of pain and suffering. He just wanted to forget it. "And before you go there don't blame yourself. You didn't tell them to capture me. Those assholes did it on their own." After knowing how Shiro was he knew he'd blame himself for this happening.

Taking in some shaky breath he finally calmed down enough to breath properly. They were tossed around so easily as whores sometimes that it broke his heart. 

"Thank you Shiro..." Ritsu leaned in to eat happy to have some soup. He was so hungry especially coming out of his heat. After the week he had he would need a few days to get back to normal eating habits. It was good to talk to him about it a little, they really didn't have therapy for omega's for his kind of stuff. It was just assumed they were fine with it. 

As he finished his soup the doctor came in holding his chart, "it's good to see you awake and eating. Sorry that took me a moment to come in I was finishing up a surgery. The nurse told me you asked for food so I was happy to hear it." The large alpha came in to stand at the end of the bed. Ritsu lowered his gaze and turned towards Shiro. The doctor saw his response and took a step back.

"Since you're eating and as long as you can move around okay you can go home in the afternoon," the doctor looked at the clock. It was almost midnight in the hospital that meant they could leave later that day. "I have some medications for you to take for pain over the next couple of days, antibiotic and suppressants. You were already given a contraceptive and IV antibiotics. Your hands you'll need to keep wrapped and replace the bandages every day for two days but by then you should be healed enough to remove them." Looking at Shiro the doctor nodded his head, "made sure he's on the brat diet for a few days but besides that... do you have any questions for me?" 

Ritsu bit his bottom lip feeling uncomfortable with another alpha there but trying to not panic. He was fine. That man was a doctor. He never felt scared of an alpha like this before but it was to be expected after what happened. The doctor didn't know he was behaving any differently. As far as he was concerned it was normal.

Happy to see him understand what he said and that he was eating again, Shiro kept helping feeding him. When the door open and the doctor came in he turned to look at him taking a deep breath hopping he was having good news for them.  What he didn't expect was the way Ritsu moved closer to him as if hiding from the doctor, which ironically he was an alpha. Shiro looked worried at him and back at the doctor who took a step back, making a distance between them. Shiro placed a hand over Ritsu's hands, hopping it was going to make him feel better. Could it be that that he's now afraid of alphas? what did that psycho did to him to turn him like this. I wish i could kill that motherfucker right now, rip him into pieces 

His mind was stopped by the doctors voice, curious if he had any questions. Shiro looked at Ritsu and then back at the doctor shaking his head. 

"Not at the moment. I'm good. As long as he is okay from a medical point of view, i'm okay with that. I can handle the rest doctor" he said looking at the doctor, waiting for him to leave, to get his phone out dialing someone. 

"Hey Leah ... Yeah , no , he's fine .... Just spoke with the doctor and we'll have to stay for the night and leave in the morning. Tell the others we're fine and we'll be back tomorrow", he hang up the phone and turned to Ritsu. 

"Wanna get some sleep or wanna take you for a walk outside" he said then lifted a hand up. "Not an actual walk, i'll see what i can get. But that depends on how you're feeling"

Ritsu was in fight or flight mode around other alphas. Just instantly back into his omega instincts that he always ignored before. Now he fell into it using it to help keep other alphas away. A defensive stance against them to protect himself. If he didn't challenge then they responded nicer. 

The Doctor nodded his head, 'call if you have any questions. Otherwise you can follow up with his regular doctor." He left them be to go back to work.

Leah sounded so glad to hear from him and was glad to hear they were doing fine. Sighing in relief she smiled, "just be careful  we'll keep an eye out for you tomorrow then. Call us when you're on your way."

Ritsu rested back in the bed looking up at Shiro, "I kind of want to rest if that's okay...?" The rest of the time at the hospital was mellow. He didn't talk much, mostly just nibbled on some food and drank some drinks until he was discharged. They even wrote him a script for an antidepressant when he checked out. They just loaded him up with medications to pick up and sent him on his way.

The whole trip home was fairly uneventful. He asked how the others were doing and took a nap on the way back. Even with that he still felt exhausted. Finally they were home and Ritsu stepped out of the truck to head into the house.

Leah was at the window calling out to the guys, "they're home!" She didn't know the state they were in and didn't know how bad it was. 

Taki looked up from his spot in the kitchen heating up something for lunch. He smiled softly to come over and join them in welcoming their alpha and new omega back.

"Alright, not a problem" he said sitting on the bed near him, keeping him company and making him comfortable again. He really did try everything to make the other feel better and to relax, but he could see that he was still tense. The fire in his eyes that was usually there was slowly fading, almost gone. What did Victor to break you like this .... fucking asshole .... but you're safe now .... you're going to be fine .. no one will harm you ever again.. i'll make sure of that 

The drive was silent, mostly because Ritsu rested. From all the medication the doctors gave him it was pretty surprising that he was lasting that long staying awake. 

When they reached home, Shiro smiled seeing the others out to welcome them back home, but he was unsure how the other was feeling about it. Helping Ritsu get in the house along with everyone and placing him on the sofa, the others started speaking. 

"So glad you're back home Ritsu" said Simon sitting on the sofa chair next to him. 

"Yeah ... this place is not okay without you man" added Sota leaning on the back of the sofa standing. 

"Give him some room to breath guys" said Shiro laughing. "Are you hungry? Do you want something?" he asked Ritsu before heading to the kitchen.

Ritsu came in and felt a little overwhelmed by them at first. Looking between them all they were so excited to see him and honestly because they were betas he didn't freak out, "I'm glad to see you're all feeling better." 

Leah went to follow Shiro into the kitchen but paused wondering if he wanted something to eat. 

"Um... yeah. I'm sick of soup. Maybe a sandwich or something. I'm not picky," Ritsus voice was soft as he spoke. 

Taki noticed his apprehensive stance,  mostly because he did it a lot. He stayed back giving him space to breath,  "don't crowd him guys he's had a rough week."

Leah followed Shiro into the kitchen smiling sadly at him,  "I'm glad you two are home safe... what happened?" It was easy to see Ritsu's complete change in the way he walked and spoke.

As he mentally noted the others request he nodded and walked in the kitchen where Leah fallowed asking questions about what happened. It was hard to say anything, plus, it wasn't his right to say it. Taking a deep breath as he was looking in the fridge for ingredients to make a sandwich all he said was: "I didn't reach in time" 

 

Simon looked at Taki not sure why the sudden mood change in this tone but started to change the subject trying to talk about something else. Sota looked confused not understanding much, as always, what was happening but didn't beat his head to much on the matter.
