Ritsu drove away not seeing them as he cried the whole way home.  Why did he let himself get close?! Why did he let someone in again?! 

Taki looked at Shiro at the table seeing the sadness that was so thick in the air he could taste it through the good smelling food. 

Leah came over to sit across the table from him,  "Shiro... you..." She looked at Sota then back at Shiro and just had to say something.  "I hate to break it to you Shiro but I think you like him.  Don't go pushing him away."

Taki even chimed in, "coming to a house as an unmarked omega with an alpha without a partner. That's a huge trust thing Shiro." He didn't know they'd already slept together.

Shiro rolled his eyes as everyone was trying to tell him what to do, then he heard Leah which only made him worry. Was it that obvious already.

"what? I don't like him. H-He was just a help. A guy i knew that could cook and you guys wanted a meal" he said standing up, taking a few steps away from them.

"You guys know pretty damn well i don't do relations. Remember what happened with the last one? Should i remind you why no one involved with me is not safe?" he said turning to them remembering them that his last relationship went downhill from the beginning as it ended in a kidnap, chase and tragedy. He was doomed to be alone. 

"We didn;t forgot Shiro, but that was long ago" said Simon looking at everyone and then back at Shiro.

"yeah. you cannot push everyone away because of what happened a few years ago. You were young and that story ended. This is something new, why deny it man?" asked Sota standing near Leah. 

"It's not that simple. Its more complicated than this. We're just friends, nothing more" he said sharply. 

"It's more simple than you know it but you're just stubborn to admit it" said Simon frowning and gulping as he was talking back to his alpha. 

Shiro looked at him surprised to hear him talk back at him. That was a first. 

"This discussion is over. Enjoy your meal" he said taking his jacket from the chair and going up to his room. 

"Now what do we do?" asked Sota.

"For a minute i thought i might die" said Simon exhaling relieved.

Leah nodded her head,  "things are different now.  We're older,  wiser. Well older at least." She tried to joke about them.  

Taki turned to Simon with real fear in his eyes then let out the air he was holding when their alpha left the room.  Resting a hand on Simon's shoulder he sighed heavily,  "that scared me."

Leah sighed through her nose before leaning forward on her elbows, "the balls in a couple days... let's invite him to join us.  Maybe a romantic atmosphere is what they need."

Taki shrugged his sounders,  "couldn't hurt. Shiro will go because we're going." He knew their alpha might not follow a lot of traditions but he did protect them.

"I don't know" said Sota sitting next to Leah sighing.

"We can start getting him into our group but after seeing how he left here .... he was pretty upset" said Simon looking at the others. "I saw him in the car passing us on our way home" he shrugged. 

"What other choice do we have? You saw how they were at school. Isn't it obvious? But that moron is too stubborn to listen" said Sota rubbing the back of his neck. He leaned and looked at the counter and then looked at Taki. "Would you mind finishing the food? I'm really starving" he said leaning his hands on the table pleading for it.

Taki could boil water but he was no cook either.  Neither was Leah. She was debating on just buying them sandwich meat and being done with it.  He nodded his head to boil the water for the noodles. 

Leah sighed heavily,  "it'll take some convincing but hopefully we can get him to go. They do like each other.  Why else would he have been that upset?"

After trying his cooking though Leah was convinced that Ritsu needed to join them.  He was a cooking God and needed to be added to their group.  The next day at school they had the chance to corner him during lunch.  

Ritsu barely slept again. It was starting to wear him down.  With his smell gone,  then the sort of fight.  He couldn't even call it that.  Rejection might be a better word for what happened.  He just looked like someone kicked his puppy he was so sad at his usually spot eating alone. 

"I think it's about time you thought about hanging out with some cool people, " Leah sat down across from Ritsu making him jump.  

Taki at down next to him but a good foot from touching him. He struggled with new people being near him.

"hey whats up my man. I must say that those spaghettie were amazing" said Simon sitting between Ritsu and Taki to make the other feel more comfortable as he knew he wasn't good with new people. 

"yeah man. Thank you. You saved us from some fried fries and some scrambled eggs" said Sota sitting next to Leah. 

"Oh. I thing we didn't introduce ourselves properly" started Simon doing the honoring. "I'm Simon. this Taki, that's Leah and Sota. 

"You don't look too good" said Sota out of the blue and got kicked with the elbow by Leah. 

"What our friend here tries to say is that you seem like you need some friends" said Simon more politely.

Ritsu looked up surprised and very surrounded.  Sinking back s little he looked around at all them but realized who they were and was glad that they weren't there to beat him up,  "hey... um... fries and eggs?" No wonder Shiro wanted him to cook that's a terrible meal. 

Looking between them all he almost wanted to run but he stayed there, "thanks guys but I'm alright on my own."

Leah leaned forward,  "let me say this differently then.  We could use a friend like you.  We're all misfits but we could use a caring one... that can cook but mostly caring." 

Taki looked over at him shyly pressed against Simons shoulder with his own,  "hm."

"Take it as a token for caring for Shiro when he was injured. We're kind of owe you one so...we decided to hang out with you" said Simon smiling looking at the others and back at Ritsu. 

"Hei chill out. We're not gonna eat you and we don't bite. Not that hard" said Sota smirking at the last part as he looked at Leah and then mend his voice getting more serious as her look said to him to behave or else. 

"And besides that .... we do have some other business with you which involves Shiro" said Simon looking at Leah asking for help as she was the one that spoke more freely and direct than all of them. Well, maybe beside Sota but he would mess everything up.

Ritsu looked around at the group seeing the mismatched people in it.  Awkward yet they all seemed to get along on their own way. He understood they were over to talk to him probably because their alpha was off. 

Leah sighed,  "let's just cut to the chase.  He's been a mess since you left, and don't pay dumb and try to claim they're nothing going on between you two. "

'I'll try to refrain," Ritsu smirked a little them saw her face.  

Leah groaned putting her face on her hands,  "oh lord he's as bad as Shiro." Was she really going to try to add to that train? 

Ritsu chuckled softly waving his hand,  "sorry. I'm an ass." He grinned at them but then bit his lip to hide that away.

"These guys are a perfect match even when they think they aren't a perfect match" mumbled Sota rolling his eyes resting his forehead on Leahs shoulder. 

"Look. We don't know whats between you two but we can see that you like each other a lot and ..." started Simon gesturing around them.

"And we want you guys to hook up already" said Sota out of the blue which got him another elbow kick. 

"Not that you moron" said sharply Simon. "The point is that ... you made Shiro happy. I mean, we saw him laugh and smile a lot. He started to talk with us more and hang with us through conversations and jokes" he continued.

"In other words you were something good that happened to Shiro in a long time" said Sota then a kick came from Simon under the table. 

"Do you not like him? Or is he forcing you to do those things? Like cooking for us for example?" asked Simon wanting to make sure they didn't got the message wrong. But he was never wrong with this things.

Something good in a long time huh?  That was how he felt about him, "what no!  Of course not.  He asked and I helped..." If anything he was the one taking advantage of him.  "I had a pack once... it's hard to watch another pack have a hard time..."

Leah reached over to squeeze Sota's arm trying to keep him from saying anything else bad,  "you two seem to get along rather well.  Maybe come to the ball and see how it goes. He really does like you. "

Ritsu looked at Leah with an expression that was hard to read almost like there was some inner turmoil happening,  "I don't know..."

Simon was looking at the others as their plan was failing. What more could they do than try to talk him into going with them. 

"What do you have to lose?" started Sota and everyone looked at him mumbling indescribable words. "You can accept our invitation to the ball to come along with us. You can spend it with us or with Shiro. Either way it works" he said and everyone slapped their forehead. This man was sabotaging his own team. 

"Sota please just ... stop talking....Leah, shove your tongue down his throat and make him stop talking" said Simon exasperating.

What did he have to lose? 

"I'll go, " Ritsu said suddenly stopping Leah from either kissing him or smothering him.  She turned to the omega surprised to hear him say that.  "Like you said, what have I got to lose."

Leah started to wave them up,  "its settled we'll do you there at seven. Text us when you get there." She handed him a paper that she wrote their numbers on.  "Let's go guys. "

Taki looked over at Ritsu then smiled,  "it'll be fun." It seemed the awkward ones didn't bother Ritsu.

Shiro didn't go to school the next day. He just didn't felt like seeing Ritsu and have his head messed up again. So he invited some friends which kind of helped him loosen up the tension a little. He needed distraction. And what better distraction was there than sex.

"Just relax Shiro, what can go wrong?" said Simon taking Taki by the hand walking to the dance floor, holding him close as he knew he was pretty tense with all the people around them. 

"yeah, thanks a lot guys" he mumbled as he saw all of them walking to the dancefloor, leaving him at the table drinking alone.

Leah smiled to Shiro but then noticed someone in the background headed that way. She turned to Sota letting out a little giggle of happiness when they moved to go dance, "don't go too far I want to see this." Leah was trying to not squeal when she say how dressed up he was. 

Taki stayed close to Simon but nodded to Shiro knowing he was about to get a big surprise. He tucked his face close to Simon smiling softly. He wanted to still watch over there too to make sure their alpha was okay but he also wanted to see the surprise. 

The music was a medium pace at the moment. People moving around and dancing. Some drinking and eating. Then the beat came to a slower part of the song, "they left you all alone here?" Behind him was Ritsu in a three piece suit. He didn't have a tux but he did have a suit. Dark green that really made his eyes stand out. With it was a white button up and a lighter green vest with a matching tie under it. One of his hands was tucked in his pocket as he looked down at him.

Sitting at the table, alone, sipping his drink. What a great night to remember. He scuff as he drank from his glass.

He almost chock on the wine when he heard his voice and almost spill it on him. When he turned on the chair to look behind him and saw him, he remained a little dazzled by the image of him all dressed up. Now that was a handsome man. Shit! "I mean ... you look nice ... sorry" he smiled not knowing what else to say. But then again something bugged him, which only made him to turn his head to the dancefloor where he's pack members were, giving them a look of 'i know what you did'.

"Fuck , we just got caught" said Sota looking quickly at Leah, swinging her farter away. 

Simon saw the look that the others got so he decided to move before hand a little in the crowed, holding Taki closer to himself.

Ritsu watched him with his big green eyes, damn Shiro was handsome all dressed up. Well he was always handsome but that suit though. Curious eyes watched him for a moment as he stumbled over his words then he chuckled softly. Following Shiro's gaze he chuckled softly seeing the others run away. 

Leah giggled against Sota's chest as they dance away from them. 

Taki smiled and held Simon closer blushing a bit. When he was that close to him he could almost forget the crowd.

Ritsu chuckled softly looking up at Shiro again, "they're good kids." Like they weren't the same age. "I'm here because we agreed to go together and I heard you've been mopy." With a smile his heart was pounding out of his chest trying to stay cool. He still had the upper hand for a moment with Shiro being thrown off with him being there. Such a cute alpha. Reaching his hand out for his he gave him that little cheeky grin. "Wanna dance goober?"
