Posted May 28, 2013 Share Posted May 28, 2013 I submitted my manuscript to a local publishers and having read their first reply, I decided to implement the suggestions they asked for and re-submitted it, thinking that they might not even want to re-read it since they didn't like it the first time. I received an email today saying it wasn't an problem and they would be happy to read the changes that I made!! Isn't that a good sign? If the overall concept/plot was rubbish and uninteresting, wouldn't they have said that they didn't want to read it again? I really hope they come back with some good feedback this time. Unfortunately for me, it could take up to another 6 weeks for me to hear back from the publishers, though I suppose I could take the time to finish my story if they do take that long and if they do decide they want to publish it!! I might try some literary journals first, but one of these days I'd like to be like you and submit to an actual publisher! Very happy for you and I hope you hear back soon!! I am currently obsessed with shows about cars (rather, refurbishing old cars I guess) and the show Hannibal (as some of you already know). The mind games and the heavy symbolism throughout the show sorta blows my mind... week to week I keep trying to figure out the endgame. Well, it's based on a book so I guess that's kinda apparent, but still... the show is a bit different. The visual aspects are stunning for a network show, as well as the cast and the sound... My Manuscript is a dark fantasy novel that is based on another planet and revolves around the Fae Folk of Irish Mythology It's not finished yet but hopefully the changes I've made to it over the past couple of days will meet with the publishers approval. I have only written 38,000 words so far and for it to be published, it needs to be over 80,000+, more words, descriptions and stuff the better. I don't know if I am talented writer or not until I hear back from the publishers but at least their willingness to read it is a start!! It's always been my dream to be a published author of Dark Fantasy/Paranormal fiction by the time I am 30 years old (I'm 26 right now) and perhaps with this publishers advice and critiques I can make it successfully!
