“You okay? Your heartbeat is different.” Yukie asked gently as he walked out to where dinner was and sat down the demon helping himself to some food as Rownan raised a brow.

”you okay?” Rownan asked having expected Yukie to be in his room all day.

”yeah. Sorry for you know.” Yukie started as Rownan held up a hand. 

“No worries.” Rownan replied as he held up a hand. “I don’t take your anger personally I know things are still new and hard for you.” Rownan explained as he smiled

Innosuke froze looking at Yukie as he bit his lip “uhhh yes yes I’m fine” he smiled softly as his mate walked out of the room and watched as his mate and rownan spoke to each other as he smiled and mumbled to himself “I love you…marry me” he shook his head exiting the room and smiled “yes we talked and I think it helped him knowing someone would always be there for him and love…..I-I mean care for him very deeply” he blushed looking to the side unsure of what to say or what to do in this moment he may have been heard he hadn’t said the L word yet and was unsure if his feelings would be returned.

“Mmh don’t worry I plan on marrying you~” Yukie replied to Innosuke with a rather cheeky smile. “You forget if I can hear your heartbeat I can hear what you mumble to yourself.” Yukie reminded Innosuke as he ate a bite of food only to get a light tap on his head from Rownan.

”Don’t be so cheeky. A confession of love is serious.” Rownan scolded Yukie lightly as he looked over at Innosuke. “A confession is serious. Do you really mean your words.” Rownan asked as he sat down and ate his own food Yukie looking over at Innosuke also wanting the man’s true answer since no one had ever confessed like that to him.

“I-I…” he looked up his face flushed in a deep red as he stuffed his hands in his lap as he replayed yukie’s words in his head before hearing Rownan scolding Yukie for being cheeky and answering innosuke’s deepest feelings and then being called to attention as he looked at Yukie and then down “yes… it’s my true hearts feelings… I-I fell for Yukie…hard..” he said as he looked to the side waiting to be kicked out or flat out rejected as he had done to the forced dating companions his parents set up for him all they wanted was his money and fame… and for the first time he was…”I’m…I’m in love with Yukie…” he stammered hoping this was the butterfly and knots in his stomach actually meant was that he had fallen for this person who was sculpted in beauty with a heart of gold.

“Thank you.” Yukie blurted out as he blushed only to have Rownan choke on his drink.

”Thats not how you reply to a heartfelt confession!” Rownan replied as he rubbed his temples the poor centaur just flabbergasted.

”Well I’m not allowed to say I love him or like him until we’ve dated a few months. That’s what you and Yuen keep telling me.” Yukie replied a little flustered as he blushed red feeling embarrassed since when he had turned down love confessions it had ended badly and it seemed accepting love confessions was just as tricky. Sighing softly Rownan looked at the two before turning to Yukie. “I like…well I love him too. Even if I don’t really understand human emotions or my own yet….I’m happy around him isn’t that enough.” Yukie asked Rownan who sighed and nodded. 
 

“I forget you still don’t really know how to be normal despite how well you play it off. If he makes you happy then everyone will accept him. But take it easy.” Rownan asked as Yukie nodded the poor centaur only worrying Yukie was being rash since the demon had only started really smiling and showing human emotions after Yuen and Yue took him in their home. Though Rownan was worried Yukie was just mimicking and he didn’t really have a way to place his emotions to what he felt sometimes.

Looking down Innosuke just heard Yukie say thank you his heart felt pain and the sputtering slowed he felt like he wanted to just get up and run away he was really hurt he sat there staring at the the table he stopped listening he heard nothing said as his smile turned to a frown his knots and butterflies quickly untied and stopped fluttering, he felt like what he said was the truth but maybe he was not fully understanding maybe the others knew exactly how he felt and wasn’t sure how to tell him, he argued with himself in his thoughts as he stared blankly at the table. He thought to himself. His fingers twisted and turned at his waist and the fabric touching his finger tips.

was it not real… am I not in love… is this not what  people say when they fall in love? Oh god I confessed and I never made sure we had time…. Fuck…

“Innosuke?” Yukie asked as he gently touched his lovers hand the demon confused. “Is it okay? My feelings?” Yukie asked softly such a deep hope in his eyes that Innosokue would accept that his understanding of emotions was still rough but he was honest that he loved Innosuke in his own way and that he hoped until he understood himself more that Innosuke was fine with Yukie being happy around him. “I’m still new to some things but it’s what I can understand now….maybe later…I can explain better how I feel.” Yukie added as he was slightly unsure on how to express how he felt.

Inosuke felt a warmth on his shoulder yanking him from his thoughts he looked at Inosuke as he looked him deep in the eyes as he let the tears that had welled up and began to slide down his face “I-I’m so sorry I forced this on you I-I should…..I shouldn’t have said anything I-I was too quick it was too sudden” he said looking at Yukie he grasped his hands “I won’t do it again I-I won’t make you confused anymore I’m so sorry” he felt like this was all he could say for forcing his confession on his love. He should have made sure he knew “I-I have these butterflies and knots in my stomach when I’m around you Yukie I should have made sure this feeling is what I thought before I had said anything” he quickly muttered out as if he wanted to apologize for all he just did he felt he hurt Yukie with this unsure confession.

“I feel the weird bugs to like a bunch of caterpillars crawling around.” Yukie explained as he looked at Innosuke confused by his sudden tears and apologies. “Did I hurt you? Is it wrong to feel like this around you?” Yukie asked as his eyebrows scrunched together in confusion as he looked at Rownan who was just as baffled.

”Yukie. I don’t think you hurt him like in the way you’re thinking. He’s not injured like a wound….it’s more his heart. I think there’s been some confusion.” Rownan explained trying to calm down Yukie as he looked at Innosuke. “Calm down if you can Innosuke.” Rownan asked as he handed the man a handkerchief. “Yukie is pretty blunt with his words and emotions. He might have given off the wrong idea.” Rownan started as he gently patted Innosukes hand. “When Yukie says you make him happy I’m sure he’s talking about being fond of you and that he loves you. You need to know Yukies only been apart of the world for the last year…emotions…well he still struggles to identify them and figure out what he feels.” Rownan explained trying to get Innosuke to understand.

”Rownan? Should I leave?” Yukie asked unsure if he should stay when he had make Innosuke so unhappy.

Innosuke looked between the two blinking as rownan explained as he listened he blinked even more confused “ wait… when did he say that all I heard was thank you…” innosuke  blinked as he flushed in embarrassment he missed so much while he was lost in his thoughts he looked at Yukie the moment he spoke about leaving, Innosuke not even letting Yukie move as he pressed his lips to yukies his arms wrapped around his loves neck clinging to him. He lightly pulled back flushed “never leave…please… I understand I misheard I missed so much… I should have listened… I-I want to learn what this feeling is with you. I think… I think this is what normal couples call falling for each other” he said quickly resting his head against Yukies “will you allow me to explore these feelings with you by my side”

“Ah…” Yukie replied his face red as he felt flush his cheeks burning at the sudden kiss and admiration. 

“Yukie responds with thank you because it’s easier to let others down when he feels different that being said I think no one’s explained that you shouldn’t say it when the person you like confesses.” Rownan replied with a chuckle as he watched the two.

”Yue told me I should thank others for their honest feelings that way they don’t feel hurt. But….I didn’t know what to do when I like them to…I’m sorry.” Yukie replied his face flustered as he was trying his best to explain. “I’ve never dated or been with anyone…..” Yukie added as he took Innosukes hand nervously.

Innosuke looked at him as he leaned in “except for that guy you told me about at that bar when we left school “ Innosuke said as he smiled playing with his hand the warmth pulsing over to his own as he looked up “I want…I want to make you smile everyday” he wiped his eyes with his sleeve clearing up the tears that were somewhat dried to his own cheeks as he looked at him “you should eat and then we should lay down and I can just hold you” he said not wanting to overstep any new boundary for the new feelings they discovered together. He leaned forward and whispers into his loves ear “and maybe if you want to I can make you feel good… you know… down there”

“I would like that to spend every day making you smile. And spending the rest of tonight together.” Yukie added with a smile as he snuggled into Innosukes arms. “I want to show you the night market though! It’s so pretty!” Yukie added excitedly as he looked at Rownan who nodded that they could go.

“Every day” he responded back as he heard Yukie say he wanted to check something out innosuke nodded as he hugged him tightly “yes I’ll go with you I’d like to spend time with you for sure” he smiled as he stood up and stretched softly as he checked his clothes for any stains or dirt he wanted to look nice for Yukie and impress him if he could”

“You told him about your past boyfriend?” Rownan asked curiously as Yukie shrugged.

”Yeah I felt he should know I mean the dude still hates me.” Yukie replied as he ate another bite of food. 
 

“Yue never explained what happened to us.” Rownan admitted as he sipped his wine before helping himself to more food.

“They never had time I kinda mentally broke down…ended up moving back home because of how bad it got. I mean looking at it now we weren’t actually dating I guess…it was a weird friendship, he liked me only for the popularity and to have something pretty by his side. He couldn’t hold hands or kiss me…he didn’t like demons.” Yukie explained as he frowned. “He stated more than once he hated my demon side and wanted me to be more human. But I couldn’t do that I couldn’t be human for him because I didn’t know how. I had a hard enough time showing normal emotions and understanding situations…and well…it made him angry he got possessive and violent when Yue and Yuen tried to intervene…and then I ended up in the hospital…after a few months healing from what he did we broke up. After my mental health turned and I got sick again Yue said I should start fresh at a new collage and finish out my courses..it’s probably why everyone’s so curious about you….and worried” Yukie admitted as he looked at Innosuke not liking that his mistakes made everyone cautious of Innosukes intentions.

Innosuke looked at Yukie his lips curled into a frown he found himself angry as Yukie spoke his tone seeming to explain and yet show the hurt that this fool did, he balled his fists up tightly his knuckles turning white the tighter he squeezed. “I would never … If I see that man if he ever comes near you I will fuck him up” innosule said as he slammed his fist on the edge of the table snapping off the corner and cutting his knuckles on the sharp edges “I will end him for even harming you I swear it” Innosuke spoke low as he uncurled his fist and gently  looked down at his knuckles “Ow… oh shit im so sorry Rownan I didn’t mean to break the table “ he said realizing the table took his anger and broke under the pressure. Innosuke would hurt anyone who dare make Yukie cry even once even if it was the past he would hurt them as much as he could to see his love smile.

“No worries it won’t lie that I have spares. Between being a centaur and Yukies other forms quite a few tables have been broken in this house.” Rownan admitted as he watched Yukie stand up and pick up the broken piece before putting it back together with a simple movement of his hands.

”Something I’ve learned living around everyone is that, with the right care and broken things can usually be fixed.” Yukie mumbled as he looked at the wood the piece looking brand new.

”you wise ass. Why didn’t you fix the last one?” Rownan teased as he grabbed Yukie and roughed him up playfully Yukie laughing as he pushed Rownan off with ease the house falling back due to Yukies strength.

”Ah sorry.” Yukie added as he helped Rownan back up before turning to Innosuke. “You’re bleeding…can I wrap or heal it?” Yukie asked his red eyes almost smoldering at the smell of blood a habit that was tied to his blood fights and desire for bloodshed from his father. 

“You bite him…and you’ll be muzzled.” Rownan warned as he watched Yukie noticing just how stiff he got at the scent of his lovers blood.

”I’ll be good.” Yukie mumbled as he was slightly struggling with himself to not drool.

Inosuke watched as he saw the table he fixed as his love push the centaur over it seemed like a blur compared to the pain seeding from his hand, suddenly things froze and the room felt hot and thick as if a heavy fog rolled in cause the air to be dense with unease.

Yukie had noticed the blood on innosukes  hand that was dripping at a slow pace due to the wood gashes on his knuckles, Innosuke looked at Yukie the to rownan unsure of what to say before row man and Yukie broke the silence talking about Yukie’s blood lust and Yukie not wanting to hurt Innsouke.

Innosuke grabbed a towel and wrapped his knuckles tightly, this wasn’t the first time he had hurt himself due to the anger filled punches and his maids in the past could attest to this as he had broken so many walls in his room by punching holes through them as he got angry.

Quickly Innosuke sipped up the blood that dropped to the floor with the same towel that wrapped his hand “I’m sorry Yukie if this makes you uneasy I can go to the other room or even outside till it stops if you prefer” innosuke asked regardless of how he felt or even though rownan offered to fix it, he wasn’t sure what it would do as he was used to normal hospitals and science.

“You’re quick to anger. Maybe that’s something for Yukie to be weary of with you, a man with a temper can be a terrifying thing.” Rownan replied as he left the room and came back with a First aid kit. “Yukie step outside and clear your head while I fix Innosuke up.” Rownan asked Yukie as Yukie nodded in response and stepped outside. Once alone Rownan settled down and held out his hand so he could look at Innosuke who had wrapped his hand in one of the dish towels from a dish on the table.

Softly showing his his hand he looked to the side as Yukie had had gone outside as he sighed “it’s something new I’ve never been so angry before over someone I cared for… i don’t know why I’m like this “ he rested his head into his hand that was free “I swear id never do anything to Yukie I swear….but if this temper ruins how you see me I can go if that’s what Yukie wants” he said as he winced slightly at the pain shooting from his knuckles to his wrist.

“Yukie won’t ever say anything, but in the time I’ve known him I’ve discovered he’s a delicate soul.” Rownan explained as he carefully cleaned and dressed the wound on Innosuks hand. “His father was an angry man who took out his views on the world and every flaw he saw in Yukie on Yukie and his ex when Yukie left him at our advice put him in the hospital. We all are weary of those who anger easily because Yukie being as gentle as he is doesn’t like hurting people and won’t defend himself if the anger is directed at him he silently takes it. Yukie won’t show it nor admit it but from what Yue says Yukies still affected by his past as one would be, he’s still so fragile and scared of the world. I don’t doubt you love him, but treat his heart like it’s made of glass.” Rownan asked softly as he finished bandaging up Innosukes hand. “You can go get him now.” The centaur replied going to put away his supplies.

“Rownan…I only ever got angry due to the people who hurt him…I want to protect him and keep him safe, if I could I’d go back in time and return the damage that Fucker caused Yukie 20 times worse then he did to Yukie. I won’t hurt him, please believe me “ Inosuke said in defense knowing he would sooner take a bullet for Yukie then he would to allow someone to even point a gun in his general direction, as he turned to the front door he walked outside cupping his mouth “Yukie where are you” he called softly looking around for his mate though his hand still hurt it was better and no blood anywhere as he looked around the soft scent of grass and trees and just nature filled his nose as he sniffed for the scent of roses.

“Up here.” Yukie called as he was sitting up high on top of the roof. Standing up Yukie walked over to the edge and stepped off landing silently on his feet. “You okay?” Yukie asked gently his features having calmed down with fresh air and having some space. “Rownan is good at fixing up wounds.” Yukie explained as he gently took Innosukes hand and kissed the bandages lovingly.

Innosuke softly placed his hand on the small of Yukie’s back and softly intertwining his fingers with yukies as he softly spun his mate as he lifted his mate up softly “you mean the world to me you know that and yes he is it still kinda hurts but I have you here with me so the pain will fade hopefully soon”  he said softly placing his mate down touching his waist softly sniffing into the air “your scent mixed with the out doors is just intoxicatingly addictive” he spoke low with a small gruffed tone as he softly let out a huff.

“Oh yeah. I usually like being outdoors but I don’t think I smell any different.” Yukie replied as he was glad to be back on his feet. “Wanna take a walk?” Yukie offered wanting to show Innosuke the centaurs night market that was full of lights, good food, and lots of exotic wears.
