“You don’t need to apologize to anyone, I don’t think you know exactly how much power I really have.” Yukie replied as he chuckled and kissed Innosuke before opening the door only to meet one of the guards. 
 

“ah your awake, you have some business to attend to your guests are in the parlor.” The guard replied as Yukie nodded and walked off to greet his guests.

innosuke chuckled slightly at the kiss to his nose as he watched Yukie head to the door open it just to be greeted with work, Innosuke sat up more as he slide off the bed to get dressed for his day.

Innosuke quickly grabbed his pants and a shirt tossing them on and laying the blanket on the bed as he took off to follow his mate to the Parlor.

Yukie sat in the parlor looking over mountains of paperwork as the two men explained their plans excitedly. Holding up a hand the two men stopped the room falling an eerie quiet. “This…this plan is interesting, and I don’t doubt that I would help bridge the gap between humans and demons. But, there’s too much risk.” Yukie explained as he sighed and set the papers down. “I can bring it to the council for further discussion. But by the looks of it you already were denied hence why you’ve come directly to me.” Yukie mumbled as he sighed and thought for a moment. “Alright. I’ll revise this plan, and figure out a test group and we can go from there.” Yukie finished as the men nodded happily and thanked him before being escorted off while the next group approached with their ideas/woes.

Walking out to the parlor Innosuke blinking seeking Yuki talking to two men, Yuki had been holding papers before laying them down innosuke stood aside waiting unsure if he should go in there his head turned quickly as he smelt what smelled similar to blood his eyes scanned the room as he looked back at Yuki trying not to make it seem like he was growing agitated by the sudden smell and tried to focus on Yuki the anchor to his humanity stood just feet away and he wanted to keep him safe, Innosuke looked over spotting a guard “Hey come here, I have a question” innosuke asked wanting to know more of the men inside the parlor with his mate, trying to give himself a reason to focus the scent grew stronger the blood was close but there was no visible signs of the source. “I need to know who those men are and what they want, How much do you know” innosuke gritted his teeth trying to hold back his urge the urge to go beserk seemed to be high in his unease “I also need a blood drink asap”

“Oh yeah so basically once every three months Yukie holds council with humans. They fill out forms and go through the hoops and he will take time to listen to their plans. He’s quite the investor in both the human and demon world.” The guard replied as he looked at Innosuke. Reaching into his back pocket he pulled out a water bottle filled with blood and handed it to Innosuke. “We are pretty well informed of who comes and goes and for what reason. We’ve also been informed that your rule is law and to keep these on hand for you.” The guard explained as he smiled warmly at Innosuke.

“My rule is law?” He repeated the words grabbed thing bottle and quickly opening it to take a drink his eyes flashing over to his mate as he watched carefully the smell of blood in the house going away as quickly as it came as he drank, his eyes closing as he leaned forward removing the bottle from his lips with a huff “thank you, sorry to be so blunt but did someone cut themselves by accident or am I just hypersensitive to the smell of humans?” Though he knew what he smelt was fresh he had to ask to be sure his eyes still resting on his mate ready to pounce if anyone had laid a finger on him.

“Most likely you’re sensitive to humans most vampires are when they are newborns.” The demon explained as he watched the next group leave and then another quickly take their place. “This goes on for five hours at least so if you want we can go make him some snacks and tea.” The guard offered for Innosuke.

Innosuke sighed as his eyes shifted his head pounding as he nodded as the guard spoke his eyes watching carefully to not let anything leave his view especially when it came to his mate. “Thank you”  he said softly as he lifted his eyes from his mate to the guard and back “How many meetings does he have today?” Innosuke asked as he looked towards the door in hopes to get an idea.

“At this point ten? But he’s booked until 10pm today so he’s available fully for this cause. He usually does this for the whole weekend. His reasoning is one day per month they have to wait to meet.” The guard replied as he relaxed beside Innosuke thinking for a moment. Knocking lightly on the glass door Yukie looked up the demon taking his glasses off as he raised a brow. Mentioning for the guard to come in Yukie talked softly with him before nodding and watching the guard leave Yukie couldn’t help but smirk a little.

”Seems it’s time for a lunch break for myself. I’ll see that your needs get met on my end. I look forward to having more meetings with you.” Yukie added as he shook the men’s hands and got up heading towards the door he leaned on it before looking at Innosuke. “So, may I call you lunch?” Yukie asked teasingly as he closed the doors behind him leaving his men to clean up the mess left behind.

Innosuke watched the guard get up and speak with Yukie near the door innosuke smiled as he watched, Honestly his eyes could hardly stray from his partner as he bit his lip softly and closed his eyes thinking. He stopped getting lost in his thoughts as the soft voice rang up his eyes opening quickly as he wash met with his mates gaze as well as a comment about lunch. “you can call me whatever you want love” Joking he stood up walking over and lightly kissing his cheek. “Are you hungry?” Innosuke asked despite knowing that the reason he stopped was likely because the guard mentioned his worry.

“Mmh I’m hungry for you.” Yukie teased as he smiled at Innosuke while leaning against the doorframe. “Thought I could actually eat. These meetings while useful are boring.” Yukie admitted as he lead the way back to the kitchen where the chef was making lunch.
