Blue Moon.
Call me a weirdo but I was watching One Piece which is probably the king among those friendship animes where everyone is single as f and you know there is not a chance for a cannon ship, and I was thinking about how Zoro x Sanji would be amazeballs as a couple. And I googled it to see how original my thought was. Turns out there were tons of fanfic and fanart about ZoSan which I happened to find very KAWAIiiiiii so I decided to explore a bit more the yaoi genre. And now I'm a total pervert. The end. TyoKhi
When I was about 12/13 I was just really getting into anime. One of my favorite anime at the time was Yu Yu Hakusho and I used to really enjoy fanfiction as well (Regular sweet and innocent fanfiction...) And I happened to stumble randomly across a Kurama/Hiei fic and I started reading and at first I had no idea how to feel but after reading the entire fic I really loved it and from there I learned terms like Yaoi and then realized "There are anime like this!" Infact the first yaoi anime I watched was Ai No Kusabi, which I absolutely loved btw.
aruchan01
I first read the word yaoi on a reading-online site tagged on my favorite KPOP boyxboy FanFic. That time i started to explore the world of my fave pairing until one day, one of my mutuals tweeted a yaoi anime pics and it made me interested for no reason so i asked her what it was and she answered me it's Love Stage!! and that's where all the miracle happened, i was so hooked with love stage!! to the point I'm dreaming Izumi that we're drinking tea.. and the anime itself made me explore animes that has the same genre and now I'm not only watching yaoi animes.. i'm also reading yaoi mangas already.. It was fun. But I'm not YET a pervy lol...xD I'll wait till that day came..xD
Bakyura
It's funny because the other day, when I was looking through my old stuff, I found stickers of Yami Yugi/Yugi Motou (Yu-Gi-Oh!). And they weren't just stickers showing the two of them - they were CLEARLY in romantic situations. So, funny enough, I was a fan even when I was still a child (about 7 years old, I think)! Â To be honest, I found yaoi to be a bit weird at first. My first actual ~conscious~ exposure to yaoi was the Endrance/Haseo marriage scene in .hack//G.U., and I kinda freaked out to my brother about it being weird af lol. AND THEN I MET AXEL AND ROXAS IN KINGDOM HEARTS 2. Â With my huge crush on Axel, I just needed to pair him up with someone. And of course, who else could be a better match for Axel than his best friend Roxas? I tried to get him into a het pairing but you just know that if the guy was gonna fall in love with anyone, it HAD to be Roxas. So I went through fan fiction - a lot of fan fiction, that community is blessed with godly writers - and eventually I got hooked on the whole yaoi business
nikisthmp
Well even before I started wathing anime, my hobbie connected to it was drawing manga style. I got tired and got curious on anime so I literally googled "anime" and looked for a page and saw one with a similar name to mine xD and I tried it. My very first anime was Mirai Nikki and when Akise kissed Yukki I was like "Dude, what kind of miracle is this." And then someone told me about yaoi and I started looking for it and since that day tho... I will never forget that day xD
Ei
I forgot when I picked up the habit of reading yaoi.. I know its from a D.Gray-Man fanfic but idk which one. As for Mpreg... Harry Potter: Rise of the Drackens fanfic -_- Â My first Yaoi manga was Loveprize Viewfinder.
Isilme07
It's actually a cool story. I was really into the sports anime Captain Tsubasa when I was a teenager, and just began writing stories with the characters and inventing pairings, some of them m/m, before I even knew that yaoi and fanfics existed (I'm talking about the dawn of the internet, ages ago). Then I got into Card Captor Sakura and binged on Touya x Yukito fanfics and yaoi got my soul.
Aleksander
Wow so, back when the dinosaurs ruled this planet and I was still in high-school, I had applied for art history class and that's how I met my current 3 best friends. They were the 3 biggest Otakus i'v even seen, +they were random as heck, stupidly fun and super intelligent. So when they found out I was into guys they introduced me to Yaoi. xD Easy. Idk I think this was back in... 2007/8. Â Â Edit: WHEN U REALIZE THAT WAS ALMOST A DECADE AGO. -the excruciating pain of getting old- -ded-
wenyeol123
Kpop. After judging the hell out of whoever listened to the genre, found myself into the very pits of the fandom, five years later. Fuck you EXO. Ruined my life. Fuck that shit. Â Â On a lighter note, anyone know a good bl novel? I've read the Captive Prince, Cut & Run, and SE Jakes Hell or Highwater series. As much as I love hot smut scenes I do want a plot centered book ( however far you can go with "plot centered" since we are talking about BL ) . Bokuto.
I was shopping some Shounen Mangas and saw volume one from Kizuna in this really big bookstore. I spontaneous bought it and that's all. Next was Viewfinder and Love Mode when I remember right.xD

Little Hamster
first time is when I watch Ouran High ( I know it's an reverse Harem otoge and anime) but when I saw the Hitachiin twin, the way they acted sometimes (if not all the time) kind of bl-ish and from that I did a little search and found out about yaoi world and instantly hook up to it. At that time I also start to realized that few artwork from my fav mangaka, CLAMP also put a bit bl spice to their works here and there without to obviously realized by non fujo/dashi. cheetah10

erikavendetta
Yuri on Ice shown me the potential of Japanese media portraying positive LGBT+ characters, and I was curious to see what else they offered in manga. It's been a downward spiral into this sin pool ever since.
Deeer
This is a pretty old post but i'm going to answer anyways... It was a log time ago (when i was 8 years old, very young) and my sister and my cousin went to the room to watch some new anime that someone in the school gave to her (she is 7 years older than me). I was curious about that so i hid under the bed to watch that anime without them noticing that... it was Gravitation and i was like - oh wow, two man can be togheter, cool - time after thar my sister left anime and yaoi and i started to read fanfictions, watch some shonen ai, and write them with some friends in the school 4 years older than me ... and now i write, draw, read, watch, smell, breathe and eat yaoi ... xoxo
Dexen
I was trying to remember when it was and... I... kind of... can’t remember that first happy moment!! But besides that, I can say it’s been so addictive since that moment, another *sparkles in love* amazing moment was discovering cd dramas! God... I’m so addicted ^^

397Haruo
That is so true. I had the same experience. Just got bored on typical and cliche boy x girl stories that I tried to find something to spice up my readings. That's when I stumbled into to this "beautiful hidden world". I've never regreted anything.
Sanka
My first yaoi was junjou romantica and the romance in it really touched me. I was already a fan of shoujo at the time so it just seemed like the same thing to me.
LadySpooks
I remember my heart throbbing when ever 2 straight characters "accidentally" kissed as a gag... and I remember wanting to see more, so I started looking for more hardcore stuff. i was a perverted 11 year old
auser
I'm a relatively new convert - it has only been like 6 months:D It feels like much much longer, though - can't imagine my life without yaoi now:D And it started with the Farseer series with its subtle hints to BL, which grew much much less subtle as the books went on.. Nothing really happened, but my interest was already sparked & it didn't take much longer for me to find Yuri on Ice and after some crazy Death Note djs.. good times^^
Koujichi
I got into Yaoi when I was 10 years old (?) but not really that hardcore of a fan yet, and then I started collecting Yaoi manga in 5th grade and I was also shamelessly professing my love for the genre to my classmates \(///^///)/ And then comes 7th grade when I got my first iPod Touch and showed the anime Sensitive Pornograph to my classmates... Yep, I ruined a lot of innocent lives when I was a kid~~
rageforyou23
I shipped gay couples,so I openly talked about it to one of my friend. She told me that if I like gay things then I should watch junjou romantica. So I did. Since that I'm here, and there is no way out for me. 😂
fan_yaoi
I think i might haveposted here allready ^^ but one thing i thought about was that one first yaoi i read that just draged me into it and just no returning back. XD well i did read death note but it was just real nice pictures and a little "detective" story that i liked  sensetive pornograph was also a thing that got me hooked.
