“Any time works. Yukie won’t be staying here or visiting for quite some time, he needs to work on himself before he can meet the kids again.” Yuen explained as he stepped away from Myles and the kids to smoke the man needing a small break. “I’ll keep you informed if you want just message and ask.” Yuen finished before putting out his smoke and after a few air cleansing minutes he walked over and said goodbye to the kids with a kiss on their heads and a hug to Myles before he went back inside to clean up and sleep.

“finally finished?” Taichi asked Yukie who nodded as Tiachi set down a bucket of cleaning supplies. “I’m not your mother clean up your own messes. Once you’re done we are going to talk and if you refuse I’ll run you ragged like a dog until you break.” Taichi promised Yukie who just took the brush and started scrubbing the bathroom knowing Taichi wasn’t against ice cold swims in lakes.

The next few days tested Myles patience and endurance. He called Yuen regularly for updates, let the boys babble at him when they popped in. All the while, the redhead sat fuming in his own thoughts. 

"How .... How soon will he be able to socialise? Have you heard when he'll be ready?" Myles asked carefully. He tried his best to hide the anger, but Myles was sure Yuen could hear it in his tone. 

The red head would be as civil as he could be but he certainly wasn't going to let Yukie think what he did was in any way acceptable especially if the younger man had intentions of keeping their relationship, and caring for the boys. As far as Mykes was concerned by this point those boys were as much his as they were Yukie's and he'll be damned if those boys have a father just up and leaving when he pleased and appearing again. 

"I have .... Some things we need to talk about..."

“Want me to schedule a meetup so you can yell at him in public or do you wanna do it in private?” Yuen asked as he laid on the couch and texted on his phone enjoying Taichi’s reports. “He’s able to meet tomorrow but Taichi is glued to his hip. The man doesn’t trust Yukie to behave outside the house yet or alone.” Yuen explained as he sat up and looked at Myles. “He’s over the worst of his withdrawals for the most part…but he’s still kinda touch and go on everything else. I only asked Tachi to inform me on basic stuff and if he was alive and compliant.” Yuen explained reading most of the message directly to Myles. 

“Mama! Tama is throwing up a lot.” Haru yelled from his room covered in apple juice and crackers as he held Tama the boy having started a lot of new foods and who’s face was a bright red (allergy).

Myles sighs. "I do not wish to yell at him at all and I'd rather it be private. I'm angry but I don't want to humiliate him Yuen! I just .... I just want an answer to many questions and to give him a piece of my mind." 

Myles looked up and screeched "Shit!! Yuen I gotta go! I think we found a new allergy!!" And the red head bolts to the boys and races to the child's clinic to bring down Tama's reaction. 

A good two hours later, and Myles was given a new list of medicines for Tama. He'd need to make a call to Yuen again and email him a copy and split up the boy's new allergy medication. He turns to the boy in his car seat. "He baby blue how we feeling? Ready for a nap?" He cooes as they cruise along back for home. 

Myles snaps a picture and sends to the boys uncles, giving it to Haru to type a quick message on it before sending it.

“Tamas sick a lot.” Haru pointed out as he looked at Tama who was exhausted and half asleep already in his seat the boy hugging onto his stuffed whale as he stared blankly out the window.  “…so….Tama doesn’t like juice now?” Haru asked confused trying to make a list of all the things Tama had been getting sick and reacting to for the last six months the poor lad not understanding anything.

“…this is something I feel he should know even if he wasn’t here when they started he’s here now and he’s still their father. Medical emergencies are his concern!” Taichi yelled at Yuen having demanded to be let in on all information. Course when he found out it was something like this he was fighting on Yukies behalf. Yue trying to keep them from fighting even more as they stood in the driveway at Taichis home.

”I don’t deny he should be involved but not here not now! We don’t even know enough about the medical side of it, he has no right to even see them let alone make medical decisions” Yuen snapped as the two bickered not even asking what Yukie wanted and well Yukie just sat on the porch the man handcuffed to the door waiting for Yuen to finish arguing with Taichi so he could talk to Yue.

"Not exactly Little Man. See, Tama likes juice but certain kinds don't play nice with Tama's body. Or it might be the way that kinda juice is made..." Myles tries to explain. He always enjoyed Haru's timing for his curiosity. It gave him a perfrct distraction for other things. "Like you know how you like when I make pancakes but not when Uncle D does? Well that's kinda how Tama's body may be acting towards that juice he drank. The doctors are gonna tell me which case it is the next time we go in for Tama to get some tests done for him. So depending on what the doctors say we may just have to get a different type of juice for Tama next time, you understand, Little Man?" Myles asks as he pulls back into the drive way. He unbuckles Haru first and hands the boy a little stack of papers. "Now listen bud, can you go in first and hand these straight to Uncle Yuen? Those are about Tama's doctor visits and it's very important so don't drop any ok?" The red head smiles before going to get Tama out his carseat. He likes to try and keep Haru as involved as he can safely allow, make the little boy feel big and important unlike how he felt growing up.

“Okay!“ Haru replied as he giggled and ran inside only to come back a few minutes later. “Mama! Um…Uncle…. is yelling at a man in the yard.” Haru explained as he held the papers closer to his body having not moved farther forward then the gate. “He’s using a lot of loud language and He called the man a Fucking piece of Shit and that he was gunna…Kick his all knowing Ass.” Haru repeated as he looked up at Myles before looking over at the screaming that was louder only to stop at a few gunshots.

Yukie was just sitting quietly watching the two go off the heated yelling getting worse as the two pulled out a knife and gun going at each other Yue just melting down at how such a conversation got to actual violence as he went inside to call for Myles not to come over. After a few shots went off both men were cursing at each other as one had a bullet in his foot the other a knife in his shoulder the two out for blood.

The moment Myles heard the loud crack of the gunshot, his eyes zero in on Haru. The red feels his gut clench in that all to familair knot when it's time to fly or fight for his life. He lays Tama on the floorboard of the car before bolting over to Haru grabbing the young child and running him back to the car. 

He wears a smile to keep the children calm as he speaks "Haru, Little Man I need you to stay down on the floor boards with Tama ok? I'm going to lock the car and go check the noise but do not get up from your spot until me or one of your uncles comes to get you, do you understand? I promise I'll be right back." Myles takes of his jacket and blankets it over the small boys before closing all the doors and windows to his car. He presses the key fob until he hears the alarm click before he comes barreling into the yard. He spots Yuen first with a wound, Myles feels that head rush of rage before he spots who assumes to be Yuen's assailant. Like a man possessed, Myles darts towards the other man, grabbing the back of the attackers head and slamming him to the ground. 

"I don't know who you are, what you want or why you're here, but--" Myles takes hold of the man's ankles pulling him up, twisting himself dragging the man and flinging him airward, landing with a loud cracking noise against the back of the house. "YOU NEED TO FUCKING LEAVE BEFORE I MAKE YOUR BITCH ASS BITE THE FUCKING CURB!" Myles voice booms. He cracks his knuckles, standing between Yuen and the stranger "I have no problems going nack to prison if you wanna keep going you little cock shit!!" He taunts. It's as though the red head is flung back in time. He's on the streets, arms up and ready to beat on another nameless junkie trying to take him to the ground. Myles eyes are wide and darting between the man, and Yuen. He needs to keep an eye on Yuen because he's now injured. Myles runs though the mental check list. 

Fight the man off. 

Call the cops.

Bring the kids inside.

Wrap Yuen up before going to the hospital.

All this as he stares down this stranger with the glare that he's used with every other person he's fought against in his life. A look that screams "you touch him again and I will end you where you stand motherfucker."

“Please don’t kill my doctor Myles….” Yukie spoke up as he got up and stood between Myles and Taichi holding his handcuffed hands up. “Taichi is trying to figure out what’s wrong with the kids. Yuen won’t tell him anything. I got a call they were in the emergency room.” Yukie explained as he looked at Myles bravely standing his ground.

”Yukie sit. You aren’t apart of this. I tried to play it nicely but if I need to have the kids removed for their safety until your better I can do that.” Taichi reassured Yukie who looked back at the man. 

“I don’t want that…I just want to know they are okay….both of them…..because…of…” Yukie replied as he looked at Taichi refusing to speak more about things in front of Yuen.

”I know…once you were calmer we made our plan. Thats why we even came here. Trust me we are just trying to get basic medical papers and figure out how to go about this. Yukie has a right to know the kids medical history and be informed as his parent. He has rights even while receiving medical help. Trust me I didn’t think I’d be threatening Yuen if it wasn’t important though I didn’t think he would be so petty as to shoot me.” Taichi replied trying to keep his cool as he huffed and looked at Myles. “Though…totally confused who you are and why you threw me into a wall. I’m more concerned where the kids are since Yuen doesn’t have them and their missing my next step is to alert authorities and find them a temporary safe home” Taichi added not liking that the kids where missing and Yuen wasn’t telling him anything.

Myles stares in confusion. Wait ...... "You ....." He turns to look between the two and then back to Yuen, his arms still raised defensively. "Yuen you haven't been keeping Yukie informed!?!?" Myles redirects his anger at Yuen. "Why the fuck haven't you been sending him copies of all the papers!?!?! I thought that was why I was takong copies for you!!!!" Myles now throws a punch at Yuen, landing swuare in his jaw. "I don't know how shit is run in Japan, but in the states unless Yukie MEDICALLY DECLARED a danger to himself and others, he is not only entitled to his childrens medical info but his caregivers are REQUIRED to give to him upon request!!! You dumbass!!!" Myles gives another punch to the other side of Yuen's jaw. "Where the fuck is Yue!? YUE!!!!" He yells for the other man 

Still rolling woth adrenline and rage, Myles bunches and splinters the side wall of the house. Before realising what Yukie called the would be assailant. And then any and all color drained from Myles face. He swallows hard. He slowly looks at the man again. 

"Ya know what .... I think you all should go inside and sit down. I will go get the boys out of the car and the papers for the recent doctor's visit and I think .... I will then jump off the nearest cliff" and with that Myles very quickly excuses himself to do just as he said without answering an other questions. 

Bringing the boys inside proved easy enough. "Haru, bud you go play in your room quietly and let Tama rest ok? 

Sā, asobi ni ikimashou go on, go play."

“Yue…take Yuen to get fixed up. Give us at least four hours to figure things out regarding the children.” Taichi asked as Yue nodded and grabbed Yuen dragging him off to their car and leaving. Yukie then was somewhat dragged inside the house and sat in a chair out of sight of the kids Taichi rummaging through the cabinets to make tea. Hearing Myles come in he took Yukie his tea before going back to the entrance watching Myles send Haru off Taichi watched the scene closely before him.

“Okay Mama.” Haru replied as he took off his shoes awkwardly before looking at the strange man watching them quickly going to his room not sure what to make of the tense situation.

”Alright. So…Myles right?  I have some questions before anything else, both kids at this point are medically fine?” Taichi asked as he offered Myles a cup of tea the man completely relaxed. “…I’m just trying to help…I can’t do that if I’m kept in the dark” Taichi added with a small annoyed sigh at the whole nights situation.

The red head fidgets and tugs at a strand of his hair. The calm Taichi was showing him irked him. Shouldn't he be angry? Yelling?? Threatening to press charges at him?! Granted it was under the thought of defense, but Mtles assaulted the poor man! He flinches with the cup being set before him. 

He tries to answer the questions calmly. "Well yes and no I think is the best answer to that..... Haru seems fine most of the time, but our most recent visit I think Tama had a bad reaction to the apple juice I gave them to drink with their crackers earlier..... I like to give em snacks before dinner to be sure they'll have food in their belly in case it's a night they don't want to eat something... Doctors should have results for me in a few days...." Myles can't meet the man's eyes. He looks down at the gunshot in his foot.  The red head bolts up out of his chair sending it falling with a clatter. "Bandages!! Your foot needs wrappingI'lltakecareofthat!!" And he's gone i to the other room, tugging more at his hair, nervous energy taking over.

“It’s a graze I won’t die.” Taichi replied as he sighed and moved back into the dining room to sit with Yukie. “Myles said it was apple juice but Haru didn’t show any symptoms.” He explained gently as Yukie nodded and thought for a moment.

”….They both are like me then.” Yukie admitted his words more of a question then a statement.

”well, what I can do after we figure out your rights is run some tests. Match things up with the kids and you. It would explain the stomach issues Tama had as a baby if you two match up. You were quite frail at their age always getting sick. Granted back then we didn’t know what was wrong.” Taichi explained gently as Yukie nodded and sipped his tea. 

“They are okay though?” Yukie asked gently as he looked to the doorway unsure if he should even see the kids.

”Yes, they are fine. Tama is sleeping and Haru is playing in his room. I made sure to check on them.” Taichi reassured Yukie with a small sigh. “For now let’s just focus on our plan.” Taichi reminded Yukie who nodded and let out a sigh as he looked at his tea.

”I know, get better, become a stable home again. Then reconnect and get a stable support system if needed.” Yukie explained remembering their plan they had made earlier.

While the two have their own conversation, Myles kept digging through everything to find the damn medwrap. 

His hand that wasn't twirled up in his hair started shaking so badly he kept dropping everything he moved. Post fighting adernline still working it's way out of his system. Taking a breathe, Myles wandered down to check in on Tama, still resting and unswollen, check in with Haru, still playing and occupying himself. 

He squats down, "He little man, tonight is probably gonna be a long night, but if it gets too late I'll read you your favorite bedtime story and you'll sleep here with your uncles ok? Then I'll come back first thing in the morning to take you and Tama for breakfast, sound good?" Myles just needed something to look forward to so he coûld keep himself grounded and clear

“Ummm. I don’t think that’s going to happen Myles.” Taichi started as he had came to check on Myles for bandages. “ They aren’t staying with Yuen and Yue they didn't even tell me anything about Yukies kids when I asked for basic info all I got was names. Yukie hasn’t gotten any updates while away like I pushed for him to get so he wasn’t cut off completely for six months. The fact that they are going for his paternal rights….its why…we came here…that and the fact they have ended up in the hospital so much…well I’ve decided tonight after I’ve talked to Yukie to made a few calls to have them stay with a family I know. Legally I want them safe and secure and well depending on what Yukie chooses it might be long term. Right now the best thing is for them to be removed from here so Yukie can have a more relaxed relationship….that won’t happen if we are shot at every disagreement.” Taichi explained with a tiered sigh. 

“You’re so much bigger.” Yukie mumbled as he looked at Tama as he slept just taking in how much he had really missed.

"What?!" Myles looks as though his heart had shattered. The boys were being taken?! "B-but the boys were staying with Yuen and yue for nearly a year!! And I've been participating in their care as well! I have every document for doctor appointments AND childcare! I've got lists of Tama's newest medication and have it constantly updated because we're still figuring out his allergies!" He lists out in a panic. Ever since Yukie had disappeared and the uncles had let him stay in the boys lives Myles had essentially been coparenting them with those uncles. 

"You .... Is there anyway they can be ..." Myles starts .... But stops himself. Even if he's had a heavy hand in caring for these children .... At the end of the day he isn't really their parent. He has no real right or say in what is done to ensure their care and safety.

“You have to look at it from my point they didn’t have a doctor for six months with their care. Hell it wasn’t until Tama had issues that they got one. I can’t ignore the fact that they went against what was advised from Yukie they deliberately tried to isolate him.” Taichi explained with a frustrated sigh as he looked away angry about the whole situation. 

“Taichi…Myles stays with them permanently, I signed them over to him for full protective guardianship before I left…Yuen was suppose to give him the papers there was an envelope I left behind.” Yukie spoke up quite firmly as he stood in the doorway holding Tama close to his body his hands still cuffed and making it rather difficult for him. Adjusting Tama he held the boy close his hand supporting his head as the baby grumbled a little and clung to him his face flush and red.

”Yukie…” Taichi replied as he gently held up his hands wanting to take Tama since he didn’t know how things would turn but well he was unsure how to really do such a thing. “Look nothing is set in stone yet. Our whole visit was for information and a plan going forward for all of us.” Taichi explained trying to de escalate the conversation as he looked at Myles.

“Myles…has been caring for them since I met him…I don’t want anyone else but him to have guardianship…” Yukie added still unsure if Myles was angry at him as he finally looked at Myles trying to be a bit brave for himself. “Tama has a fever…his face is warm. I got this after I got sick as a kid quite often…he will be covered in a rash that is red and hot, oatmeal helps moisturize the rash and bring it down.” Yukie explained as he gently moved Tamas clothes to show the bright red rash on Tamas skin.

Myles was ready to bite back "But they did!! I have a primary doctor for them! Their uncles and I agreed on them--!" 

But he cuts himself off as Yukie steps forward to speak. The redhead stares at the younger man. Emotions were still rolling and he still had some choice words, but in the moment of deciding what to do for the boys, it was nice to know at least Yukie still wanted him in the boys lives. That of all things was the most treasured and endeared thing Yukie could've done for step towards redemption with Myles. 

Myles took hold of Tama to get him into the bath. He didn't know if they had oatmeal in the house but he could at least cool the child down while he ran out to get everything else they might need. "I'll take care of it. Haru will come with me and I'm ..... Assuming he can help you watch Tama for a little while?" Myles asks to Yukie. "But just know if I come back and a single hair is out of place on him I will make you both regret it."

“I am qualified to look after kids.” Taichi replied as he sighed and uncuffed Yukie releasing him for a bit. “Don’t take too long.” He asked Myles as he moved Yukie to the kitchen to grab oatmeal before taking Tama back to the bathroom for a bath. 

“who are they?” Haru asked softly as he peeked out of his room once Tiachi and Yukie had left with Tama.

"That's your daddy, silly boy! " the red head says it light hearted but he didn't think his heart could break any further. Myles was worried something like this would happen. "You know who that is Haru, that's daddy. He had to go live in another country for a little while remember?" He tries to explain as he buckles the boy into the car. 

"They're gonna look after Tama for us while we get him some medicine for his allergy and rash." 

Myles seems to go through the motions as he takes Haru with him into the store, plopping him in the little wagon seat and giving his whale plush to keep the boy company as he was settles in the cart. "You wanna get snacks for tonight?? And do you want fruit in your pancakes tomorrow or chocolate chips?"

“….but I have mama..” Haru tried to argue not remembering Yukie or willing to acknowledge anyone but Myles. Huffing at the seatbelts he sulked at being buckled in his seat again before getting distracted by the scenery and watching out the window. Once at the store he looked around holding the whale tightly. 
 

“I want to go get Tama.” Haru asked with a small pout as he tried not to cry feeling bad Tama didn’t come with them as he reached up and held onto Myles wanting to be held. “Tama can’t eat fruit…” Haru blubbered trying to explain he was upset about getting fruit because he couldn’t share with Tama his snacks lately since he had been getting sick so often. “He’s going to starve!” Haru added fully breaking down the poor lad just a blubbering as he bawled and melted in Myles arms.

Seeing Haru being to have a melt down Myles quickly directed them to the family bathroom. He pulled Haru out of the cart seat and let the child cry against him for a moment before he gently started to shush and soothe him. 

"Haru, sweetheart.... I need to to try and calm down and take a deep breath for me ok?" Myles instructs gently. He pats the child's head, rubs his little back. "I know you like to share with Tama but right now Tama is going through many different changes with his body. And he may not be able to eat the kinds of foods you and i can right now. But that's why we have to let him try all kinds of things so we can find out what he CAN eat... It's not a fun or fast thing to do but it's gotta be done." 

Myles knows Haru is most likely just confused and scared with everything happening all at once. Lord knows he would be at that age. Myles just hopes he's explaining it clear enough to the poor boy. "It's gonna take some time and Tama might have to have completely different food than what we eat all together, but that doesn't mean you don't get to eat next to him and you can share other things with him to.... And your daddy is gonna help now and again."

“But he CANT! He can’t eat anything!” Haru blubbered even more so adamant that Tama was forever broken as he cried in Myles arms burying his face in Myles hair as he hiccuped and eventually listened to Myles words only stopping when he understood a touch. 

“….I don’t have a daddy.” Haru replied confused as he slowed his blubbering at Myles words the boy confused. Wiping away his tears he looked up at Myles. “I only have Strawberry Mama, and Tama.” Haru confirmed as he completely calmed down by this point. “Can we get Tama a Tomato?” Haru asked gently as he thought about how Tama looked like a tomato earlier. “If he takes it to bed with him he won’t get sick anymore because the tomato will eat all of his red.” Haru explained his reasoning for needing a tomato down the kid easily moving from his meltdown now.

Myles sighs, but regardless still tries to smile. "Yes you do have a daddy. He just had to be away for a long time. He had .... Very important things to take care of...... Things he couldn't even share with me...." Myles does let some of the bitterness enter his tone. But only for a moment. Now with Haru calmed and placated he set the little boy back into the cart to finish the shopping. 

"Now i will get Tama a tomato but he can't have it in his bed. If he rolls over on to it, it'll fall apart and all the red it absorbed will be all over him again anyway! But we'll keep by his side table, sound like a plan?" Myles offers a compromise even if he isn't sure of the logic.

“What about ketchup also? Yue says it’s a lot of tomatoes inside of them.” Haru offered as he settled back into the cart. “He can’t squish a sauce bottle!” Haru added excitedly as he smiled happily at Myles pointing off to the vegetables.

“You alright?” Taichi asked gently as he watched over Yukie who had made his way to the couch to sit and hold Tama.

”he’s so much bigger…he was so small when we met.” Yukie whispered gently rubbing Tamas back as he hummed softly. 

“He will be fine. His body just needs medicine to cope much like yours did…I know a specialist a few cities over. Medicine has grown so much since you were younger not need for him to stay inside or avoid so many things.” Taichi explained as he set a cup of tea down for Yukie. “Course you never could remember it…but I suppose Haru will have it also. MCAS is a bitch.” Taichi mumbled as he sipped his drink.

”it will come and go. His body…just struggles to figure itself out right now, I have flareups all the time.” Yukie admitted with a sigh as he just rocked Tama glad the oatmeal bath helped his rash. “My worry is Haru flaring up he’s only had rashes…I worry his first one will hospitalize him. It’s why I specifically left their medical information for Myles. Yuen has never been understanding of it.” Yukie mumbled as he looked over to Taichi before chuckling. “This counts as this weeks therapy~” Yukie added with a cheeky smile as Taichi sighed and just chuckled.
