I'm getting too old for this

“Am…I in trouble?” Yukie asked confused why he was dealing with this since Tai and Yuen usually handled the company stuff since they were both on the payroll. “Honestly Myles I don’t know what any of this means…I mean I didn’t exactly….finish my schooling.” Yukie admitted as he hadn’t truly admitted he had dropped out after he started getting sick and gave up after his parents had passed. Being quite young and alone a lot he saw no reason to go back since he could do his job basics well and had more or less at that point, had no reason to when he considered it since he had already married himself off. “Tai and Yuen understand this better I just make sure I keep my deadlines and that things look good…..though…it wasn’t all red two months ago. We were doing good and turning a decent profit.” Yukie explained as he looked over the papers taking his time to read them. “I look over the papers the interns give me every week they don’t match these.” Yukie explained with a frown completely confused.

Myles stares at Yukie.... "Oh my god your a walking neon sign of 'please steal my money'...." He sighs. Shit he didn't realize how deep in the shit Yukie could be in! And what about Yuen!? He should've caught this as well!! "Ok so first just don't freak out I caught the problem and I can turn it around fast and now that you've clued me in your secretaries, that gives me a direction to look in...." Myles explains writing down some notes. "Names of these secretaries please? They'll be put through a second screening if I find nothing on the first ones I've got Tai setting up..." 

Taking a deep breath, Myles stares at Yukie, serious as he's ever been with the younger man. "You're basically months away from complete and total company annihilation. Somebody has been taking money from you and in turn money for your family to stay afloat and survive.... So yes it's bad. But again I caught it and I can turn it around but YOU are gonna need to keep your hands outta the purse understand?"

“I don’t ever take any money from the company. That money that I make from the company goes into a trust for the kids as does a percentage of my sales.” Yukie replied with a huff at Myles even suggesting he would dip into the company funds. “Look I’m not stupid. Some things were off when I would drop in…I just can go around accusing people without proof….” Yukie explained knowing some of the workers were sketchy but he believed in second chances.

”Yukie, the second you felt off about anyone you should have called Yuen there’s a reason he’s running all of this while your home working! You could have asked us to help fire them if you felt uncomfortable. Instead now we have legal issues and debt.” Tai scolded as he sighed and looked at Myles. “They are the oldest hires…most likely why the old company went under….the old boss mentioned they couldn’t ever keep afloat” Tai explained as he put Yuen on speaker who was cursing in Japanese’s and English yelling how he was going to fire and gut every worker they had.

Myles felt his eye twitch. With Yuen screeching it was too noisy!

"Everybody SHUT UP!!" He yells out. Once everyone was quiet and he took yet another deep breathe. He addresses the room calmly. 

"You ALL need to remember you were all young when you took this on. You didn't build an outer shell for businesses and how cut throat you'd need to be despite Yuen's current hissy fit." Myles states. A little jab at Yuen. "But on the other end, Yuen YOU should've been one of the first to know before Yukie seeing as how YOU held the purse strings! You are to blame just as much as Yukie or Tai at the moment!" Myles scolds. Yes he knows they were all young and inexperienced but there was also clear signs that should've been looked into! "I don't wanna hear excuses or why this happened, all you three need to know is it IS fixable. But we need to play it smartly. If we start and go in guns blazing, we can't catch the culprits properly and manage to get money back from them, is that clear to all of you?"

“I understand Myles and I know I’m at fault and I want to catch them it’s just….I’ve changed the damn cards three times since we’ve bought the damn building. I’ve been fighting this fucking hacking and spending scheme for four months and watching everything like a hawk even upping security and changing how money leaves and enters the company. The second I noticed there was even any red or alarm going off I switched it again and made it harder!” Yue argued as he calmed a little more his voice still full of rage though. “These fuckers…they have to be working together or have someone outside doing this to have been avoiding every trap and hiding their tracks. I know that one of the three is the ring leader I just can’t pinpoint them or prove it because I don’t know how they are doing it, I just know they know what their doing…they’ve obviously been doing it for to long.” Yuen grumbled as he sighed and let out a deep breath. 

“I’ve even helped set measures to make it so only Yukie can sign for financial stuff and paychecks to keep the use of the cards low and have eyes on all forms of money transactions. We’ve been trying everything we know.” Tai added as he looked at Myles awkwardly feeling so guilty for things spiraling. “I’ve even added security cameras to the office.” Tai explained with a frown as he covered his face with his hands. 

“You could always do what I suggested and plant a mole to gather proof and befriend them.” Yukie pointed out as both Yuen and Tai groaned at the idea of sending someone else into this already messy situation since they had no reason for more employees right now.

”That would take months darling.” Tai explained as he gently patted Yukies hand knowing he was just offering his help.

"Then the problem isn't about changing the cards. They've got your account and possibly routing number to your bank. At that point it won't matter what card you have. Even with Yukie being the only one to sign off on things." Myles looks through the transactions again. Then back to the employee list. 

"From this point on, NOBODY outside this conversation is to handle the money OR paystubs until they've be apprehended. That means you'll be buying and installing a digital and physical lock safe where drop bags and stubs will be placed. No one is allowed access to it. Not the workers and certainly not the secretaries. I have a feeling that's how they've been getting ahold of the information. Even with security cameras, there is ALWAYS a blind spot for everyone to find and use." Myles closes out the list on Tai's tablet. Looking over at the other he asks, "Is there an application on here that can let you get in and see through the cameras from home?"

“Course, there is…it’s the same security system I had installed here.” Yukie explained as he pointed to the cameras tucked out of view outside the windows. “They are pretty cool.” Yukie added as he opened his phone and showed Myles the house and then switched tabs to the company that was locked up and dark.

Myles stares at the phone a moment before taking it and fiddling with a few settings. He smirks, an evil little smirk. "Very good. But from this point on you'll need some one as loss prevention on premises just specifically hired to sit and watch these cameras all day and another for night time. I'll need the files for every camera in the building from the day you had them installed. I can guarantee these people got stupid and lazy and pulled their theft right in front of a camera because as far as they know, nobody is watching these cameras...."

“Alright, I can do that. I know a man who owes a favor and could use a few days of watching screens.” Yuen added as he laughed a little to excited that they would catch them.

”think we will be fine while we are away?” Yukie asked gently unsure if they would still go on their trip with all of this mess.

"Wrong. I'll be watching the screens personally, until we've checked, screened and hired two people for asset protection, and they need to be trained professionals not linked to any of us. And we should be fine. We still need to keep appearances for the tike being." Myles countered. Hiring somebody who owes a favor is never a good idea. For quite a few different reasons. The main one being, if you hire somebody who owes you a favor they're just there to repay the favor and either not put as much effort or just do it until they feel the debt has been repaid. 

"Once this situations has been cleared and pit into rights. New standards and policies will need to put in place and heavily enforced. These thieves will be made into a cautionary tale for anyone who wants to come and pull a stunt like this again." Myles spoke firmly, a practiced and knowing confidence in this area. He's caught and dealt with company theft before and each one has suffered consequences of financial ruin if not jail time. "We'll essentially let them keep thinking they've gotten away with it until we've come back from Japan. By then we'll have everything we'll need to confront them."

“Sounds like a decent plan. Should we let you take charge? You seem to know what your doing” Yuen added as he talked to Myles Tai only nodding an little and raising a brow as he noticed Yukie had left after they started discussing it more.

”you know…maybe you should see what Yukie actually wants. You two aren’t even asking if he even feels comfortable throwing everyone he knows away and hiring all new people.” Tai pointed out as he mentioned to Yukies empty seat. “He is the owner and yet all he’s been is scolded and decided for. It’s no wonder he doesn’t take any of this seriously or even sticks around when things get to hard. We’ve already privately talked about you bulldozing him with what you want Yuen. You’re only doing the finances. You already ran your half of the business into the ground.” Tai reminded Yuen who only started out a few choice curse words for tai.

Yukie had wandered off to the backyard the man sitting by the pool and dipping his feet in just watching the kids on the monitor play with the few toys he had brought over.

Myles sighs. "I would love to do that Tai and after this is all said and done I'll gladly give back the reins but right now we don't have the time for him to be wishwash about what to do." 

Myles did feel guilty for going over everyone's head for this but as of now he didn't have a choice. "If something isn't done now and as soon as possible, all of you will lose a fortune, which means everything you all have busted your asses and worked for, will be dust in the wind... And Yuen, you can't be mad at Tai for telling you the truth. The paperwork and the numbers have already proven that..." Myles scolds. He turns back to Tai, "Yes Yukie is gonna be scolded because while I understand this is his first time running anything on his own and at a young age and juggling everything else, there have been poor choices made here on things that should've been common logic, Tai. He can't be babied and sheltered forever. Sadly the world is harsh and cruel. If he intends to keep this house and the business afloat, he NEEDS to be able to face conflict and make quick good choices. Besides I never said I'd be firing his team. We're holding those who've stolen from accountable. Once the paperwork comes back and if the rest of the team has passed the screenings and drug test then Yukie can decide if anyone stays or anyone goes... But a choice has to be made."

“Hes doing his best here… he’s only owned the company for two months and paid off the first debt and repairs when he bought it. When it came to cutting costs…he just didn’t want to put families on the street. When he did the tests the first time they all failed one way or another…he gave them all a month to clean up their shit and come back. They all did… so he gave them a second chance. He bit the cost for it, he cares about those who work for him.” Tai explained as he sighed and got up. “I need a drink Yuen knows I hate fighting over business it’s why we don’t work near each other. Not only that  I’m going to go see if Yukie’s gone to bed or if he wants to order dinner. ” Tai added not liking that he was working with Yuen on this since the two where always at each others throats without Yukie to mediate.

”dinner sounds good.” Yukie spoke through the cameras as he stayed out where he was away from the chaos.

The red head rubs his temples, groaning again. Really?? He didn't figure Tai for an enabler, and Yuen to be so childish when admitting his faults. And didn't Tai JUST say he wanted Myles on board to keep everything in line and now suddenly he's saying 'oh no we have to be gentle with Yukie' ?! Fucking christ how the hell they all haven't already gone bankrupt is a fucking mystery. He gets up from the couch and goes to step out the front door, leaving Tai and Yukie to watch the boys and eat their dinner. 

Once outside,Myles immediately lit up a cigarette. The stress was finally starting to set in and start to agitate him. He's just being reminded more and more how far their age gaps really are. All of them had some emotional and mental maturing to do .....

“You want me to set aside a plate for you?” Yukie asked gently poking his head out the door as he frowned at Myles smoking. Stepping out he stood for a moment debating if he should give Myles space before joining him. “I…didn’t want you involved in the mess of this just to be clear…I…wanted to fix it myself. Those two are hard to work with they don’t respect me and still want to keep protecting me. I can’t get them to behave lately and they both…don’t take me seriously with what I want.” Yukie admitted as he sighed and laughed a little. “Be honest, how fucked am I? I tried to keep better tabs on who accessed what and when.” Yukie explained having more logs than what the other two did. “How do I really fix it as the boss I’m not against replacing people or being strict. Just don’t sugarcoat it like they always do I can’t take everyone trying to fix things and telling me how they will fix it.” Yukie mumbled showing what the real problem was that the two were both butting heads and not letting Yukie do what he needed. As a result they ended up with a mess because Yukie had stepped back to avoid fighting. “I didn’t even want them overseeing everything fully they where suppose to be temporary until I found help…but they just pushed themselves in to help.” Yukie admitted as he stared up at the slowly starting sky.

Myles side eyed Yukie for a good few moments. He speaks solemnly "If something isn't done properly in the next few days or by the end of this week, you could be saying goodbye to this house you just bought in about two months..... But if you let me take charge just long enough to weasel the thieves out I can fix it before we even get back from Japan. All we'd have to do is confront them and slap the cuffs on them and they'll be off to jail.... After that total control will be placed back to you as long as you take the measure I already told you to. Afterwards everything will be on you and I won't play any part ...." 

Myles could do blunt, and honestly if Yukie is coming to him for it, maybe he is trying to show and reach maturity. It was a good step forward. "There's nothing wrong asking for help when your doing something for the first time, or even keeping a team that already existed before you got there but you have GOT to learn to put your foot down and tell people when to back off when it comes to situations like this ... I know your capable of running this and make this company flourish. You've pulled up your bootstraps for other things and made it through. " Myles does believe in Yukie. He's seen and heard what Yukie has gone through and survived. So he fully believes that Yukie can stand tall and pull through this mess .... IF he's set in the right direction in the beginning. 

"I know what I'm asking will contradict what I'm telling you to do, and I will stand by what I said, but let me work behind the curtains and pull the reigns just long enough to put the dominos in place..... Then everything will run smoother then before you even took it over...." Myles promises looking Yukie in the eye.

“I trust you. I mentioned it to Tai I wanted to ask your help…I just didn’t think he would jump the gun on it.” Yukie admitted with a sigh as he looked at Myles. “I want you to fix it. I’ll pay you for your time of course. And depending on how it goes and if you want to…I’d love to have you on full time to manage the workers and building.” Yukie started his voice firm as he had clearly been thinking about his for awhile. “After things are fixed by you I’ll have the other two step back or quit, I’m too old to be babied or walked over.” Yukie grumbled a touch sore with not being taken serious. “As for damages I do take responsibility for letting it go so long I should have stopped everything and investigated the minute I found out. So I apologize for you having to fix this. I wanted to show you I was serious about us. Wanted to provide a nice home and a solid income…I wanted to prove myself to you because I know that I still have a lot to prove.” Yukie admitted as he was honestly opening up to Myles on why he was doing so much so quickly.

"Proving that you can provide for a family also means learning to compromise and work with your partner or partners in this case.... If I'm meant to be one of your husbands, here in the states the vows are 'for better or worse, in sickness AND in health' .... That means as your husband I'm meant to help you stand again when you fall flat on your face like a twat." Myles states with a snicker. If there's a problem you can't take on by yourself, your first call is to me. And we work out the problem from there."

“That…sounds really nice” Yukie admitted with a deep blush as he moved closer to Myles and rested his head on Myles shoulder. “I like you being called husband and having you as a partner for life.” Yukie added with a cheeky smile as he relaxed a little more. “Speaking of sickness and health. How are you with theme parks? I wanted to take the boys to one on our vacation.” Yukie asked wanting to know if Myles was still young enough to ride rides with him and the kids.

The mention of amusement park rides, Myles was sold. He was in fact a roller coaster fiend!! "I may .... Have a pension for death defying rides and thrills..." He admits with a sparkle in his eye. If Yukie thought Myles was bad on their first date, even the kids won't be able to keep up with him when they get on a roller coaster ride!! Any and every ride was his bucket list. 

"Give me a map to the park and everything will be mapped out and we will hit EVERY. SINGLE. ONE."

“Heh. Alright, theme parks, aquariums, restaurants. We will do the whole thing.” Yukie promised Myles as he pulled out his phone and sent Myles a link to an absolutely massive amusement park. “I booked a hotel right across from it so we can do rides for a few days.” Yukie admitted as he smiled happily glad that Myles was happy with the choice. “I’ll need some good shoes though” Yukie added with a chuckle slightly wincing at how bad his feet had gotten.

The redhead was already marking and mapping everything out, buzzing with energy and plotting out good rest spots. "Maybe if you'd pick out some ACTUAL trainers you wouldn't have foot problems" Myles sasses at the younger. 

While he plotted those out he also updated his email having it ready and open at any given day for those background checks and drug test. He'll have a working vacation. But at least things will be set when they get back. He sent an email of his own, making this party aware that he was no longer with Mr. Reed Doval so be sure to NOT forward them to him since it'll be private records.

“Oh I’ll find some neon colored ones just to be so extra” yukie replied as he rolled his eyes and smiled before gently snuggling into Myles back as he relaxed. “Thank you, for going with me.” Yukie whispered with a small choked up smile before he let go and awkwardly mumbled needing to check on the kids the poor man obviously embarrassed.

"That won't be as hard as you think. Neon is a good way for runners to be seen early in the morning." Myles snickers again. 

Watching Yukie leave red in the face for a change, left Myles smirking. He looks through emails as he finishes his cigarette before going back in. 

"Have we all come to terms and stopped having our little hissy fits??" Myles calls out mostly to Tai and if Yuen was still on the phone.

“Yeah they both are being put in the timeout corner!” Haru called out as he giggled and pointed over at Tao who was in a corner and Yuen back home was in his corner curtesy of Yue. “Aunty put them in time out for a half an hour” Haru added as he helped himself to some new foods to try Yukie just shrugging and sipping his drink and eating his own plate.
