Myles mumbled more to himself. After finishing the baby proofing, the elder left with alot to think about that evening. 

The next few days at work, Myles had called out of work. The office was left surprised. Myles had never called outta work!  Darrius knew something was up, so he texted to ask. Myles never answered.... Option 2: text Yukie. 

Hey Yu-Yu sorry to bug ya, has Myles been around? Talk to you at all?

Darrius sends off the text and fiddles around more on his computer.

~Yeah, I confessed my love to him and now it’s scared him off of the face of the earth.~ Yukie replied with a huff as he typed back at his phone the man himself working from home as best as he could for the next three months until everyone was more settled. In the last two days Yukie had rather changed up the house. Having felt rejected completely by Myles he had finished buying the kids bedroom sets and a few more things they needed. Now after having put them together he was enjoying piece in his new office as he worked. Huffing again as he set down his work Yukie sighed needing a break as he peeked in at Haru who was building a tower.

-Haru let’s go get lunch!- Yukie added planning to drop off what work he had finished. After a half an hour of loading up the kids and finally buckling them into the car Yukie started it up and drove back to town stopping and parking at his work as he sighed the envelope in the passenger seat waiting to just be slipped on the front desk.

Darrius nearly jumped up from his cubicle. He texted nack frantically 

BOI ARE YOU FOR REALZ!?!?! OMIGOD CALL ME RIGHT NOW!!!!! TELL ME DETAILS!! 

Darrius practically bolted to an empty lobby and dialed Yukie's number. What did Myles say?! How did he react?! Darrius needed to know because if this was why Myles was gone-- "OH MY GOD YUKIE PICK UP YOUR PHONE!!!!" Darrius screeched

“God you’re to noisy I can hear you from the lobby!” Yukie yelled down the hall as he held Haru’s hand Haru wanting to carry in his papers as Yukie carried in Tama and their diaper bag. Haru smiled cutely as he was dressed in a cute dinosaur t shirt and pants while Tama was dressed in a cute bear onesie. Leading Haru back towards Darius Yukie sighed as he looked at the man and held up his phone with a dead battery symbol flashing on the screen. “They are right on you being a noisy co worker.” Yukie first stated as he made his way back to his desk to gather his things. “My phone died in the car I came to get my things and my phone charger.” Yukie explained with a frown as he couldn’t understand why Darius was so panicked.

"How did he react when you told him?!?" Darrius blasted passed the other questions. "What did he SAY?! What did YOU say!?! Just gimme details and I can give you what you need to know, I promise! I've known this man for 8 years I can read him like a book front to back word for word!!" Darrius finally notices the children. 

".... You babysitting? That why you been away for two weeks?"

“No, not babysitting. These are my sons. Haru, and Tama. It’s why I’m out of the office for the next three months while we all settle in.” Yukie explained as he looked at Darrius and pointed to each kid as he said their names. “Haru is two and Tama is six months.” Yukie explained as Haru hid behind Yukie a little still holding the papers close to his chest taking his task very seriously. “Look all I said was going forward I wanted to know if a relationship is possible between us. I have my kids to think about and I don’t want them to worry about who’s coming and going in their life. Haru’s already had to deal with that already and I don’t want him to feel like he doesn’t have a permanent person in his life. I asked Myles if he would like to date to see if we could take this serious later on and he told me I was too young for him and he would get back to me. Hasn’t said anything since and kinda bailed on our trip.” Yukie explained as he huffed. “Look he made it clear he’s not interested and I don’t plan on pursuing if he doesn’t want it the last man I did that with almost killed me.” Yukie added as he gently took the papers and set them down on his desk before finishing cleaning out the desk so he could leave. “Now if you don’t mind I’ve promised the kids lunch and then we are getting a hotel so we can go to the aquarium.” Yukie added a little snappishly as he was hurt about being rejected so coldly.

Darrius sat on those words and thought. Then snickers before straight up laughing. 

"Listen Honey. You're still new when it comes to dealing with Ruby-tudy, so lemme let you in on something. Myles is thinking and taking that choice seriously.... He hasn't even been to work in 3 days. That man is a work acholic and he never misses a day. I'm not gonna get let you or his dumbass. Mess this up now get back in the car! We gonna take a drive to him first." Darrius states. And for the first time, Yukie will see his coworker so serious. He looks back, "Well cmon!! We ain't got all day!! Move ya butts!"

“…he’s made it pretty clear he doesn’t want me around.” Yukie replied with a huff as he lead Haru back out to the car glad he had Tama in the baby sling.

-papa?- Haru asked confused as he followed the energetic Darrius. 
 

-Don’t worry we’ll stop and get lunch he’s just seeing us out.- Yukie added with a sigh as he set his box in the back of the very family safe minivan. -Haru let’s get you buckled first.- Yukie asked as he helped Haru into the car and buckled him in only to sigh as Tama was waking up upset about the noise and rather hungry.

“Darius. It’s not just that easy to plan an instant visit. The kids need to eat and I need a decent coffee.” Yukie added just already giving in to Darrius dragging them around. “Besides I have plans, I can’t miss my hotel book in and I don’t want to drive at night it’s a two hour drive to our hotel.” Yukie explained as he carefully bounced Tama who started to fuss the child on the verge of a complete meltdown. “Believe it or not I’ve only been driving for the last year I’m not that great at it and I’d appreciate the ability to miss a heavy traffic and late night driving issues.” Yukie finished as he put Tama who at this point was now full on raging in his car seat as he dug through the backseat to grab a small cooler filled with bottles of pre measured formula and a thermos of hot water so he could make a bottle.

"No worries. Coffee shops have drive-thru and what kid doesn't like doughnuts!" Darrius, once confirmed that the children were safely buckled, off he bolted and weaved in out of traffic. Stopping quickly at a lil coffee shop. 

"Hey how ya doin'? Can I get a tall mocha caramel triple espresso shot coffee made with oatmilk instead of regular dairy?what do you boys want?" Darrius asks turning to the lil family. After getting a receiving said order, Darrius once again bolted towards Myles' apartment. 

"Now listen here Yuyu, Unless Myles stated the words 'No I do not want a romantic relaionship with you' e is thinking about and the fact he hasn't said nothing to nobody is proof enough he's heavily considering it!" Darrius makes a sharp turn. "I have watched Myles turn down and reject dozens and dozens of people with no problems. I was one of them!" Darrius admits. "I KNOW what it looks like when Myles considers things! He gets in his own mind he weighs everything! It's the one way I know it's something he TRULY wants! Because he has a nasty habit of convincing himself he doesn't deserve something good for himself ..... He's ex made sure of that....."

“His ex?” Yukie asked as he raised a brow and once stopped reached back to Haru.

-don’t eat that please- Yukie quickly told Haru’ as he grabbed the doughnuts from both kids and put them back in the bag and on the floor as he sighed already to exhausted to deal with Darrius. 

“fine…fine, I’ll go in and talk to him but I’m taking the kids.” Yukie added as he got out quickly and grabbed the bag of supplies Haru and then Tama before Darrius could convince him not to. “What apartment?” Yukie asked as he gently held Tama close the poor kid covered in vomit and milk from Darrius’s crazy driving.

"Boy you been here before! You spent the night here!" Darrius teases. "But if you want a refresher is apartment B7, third floor, Imma wait down here for y'all, m'kaaayyyy~ bubye now!" The gossip queen waves them all up the stairs before whipping out his phone. Thinking he'd be a little nice and give Myles some warning. 

Boy you have got some 'splaining to do not JUST TO ME but to yo mans as well!! 

Myles had stepped out the shower, drying his damp curling hair when he looked at his phone. " ... What? Darrius what the hell are you on about?"

'Darrius, what are you talking about?'

Sighing Yukie groaned as he walked up the first flight. By the second flight of stairs Haru refused to climb anymore the poor toddlers legs exhausted from so many big steps. Picking Haru up Yukie carried him up the rest of the second flight of stairs and then up the third before he made his way to Myles door and knocked loud enough for Myles to hear just as Tama started screaming again the child angry he still hadn’t ate, was covered in vomit alongside Yukie now who was carrying on his back a very cranky Haru who was at this point past lunch and his nap time. Standing at the door Yukie knocked again cursing Darrius as he held both now crying and fussy kids.

Myles startled a little at the sudden knock, as he missed Darrius' next text. 

"One moment! I'll be right there!" He called out quickly throwing on a loose shirt and pants before running to answer the door, "Sorry I just stepped out of th-- What the hell happened to you three!?!?" Myles yelped upon seeing the trio looking worse for wear. He held out his arms to take the fussy baby, immediately going to clean him up. 

"Jesus christ is this what Darrius was telling me when he said I had explaining to do?! What are you all doing here so late for anyway?" Myles asked firing off questions rapidly, concern ebbing in his throat.

“Well for starters that man drives like a demon. Tama was eating but got sick because of his driving and has had motion sickness for the last ten minutes. Haru is hungry and grouchy because instead of having us get lunch and him taking a nap like planned he kidnapped us to talk to you. And to add insult to injury I’m being forced to talk to someone who clearly doesn’t want to speak to me or who doesn’t have the same feelings so I’m not exactly happy to be here either….but I just want my keys back so I can take the kids to the aquarium.” Yukie finished with a huff as he just broke down mentally finally crying the poor man having reached his breaking point with stress from the kids his whole life changing and from everything with work and now with Myles.

"Man?? Darrius?! Why would you let hi--" Myles took a deep breathe to calm himself. That wasn't what mattered at the moment. Yukie was having a meltdown, the kids were a wreck, and the older man knew Darrius had to be downstairs waiting for this trio. He focused on cleaning up little Tama as he spoke, "Let me help you get cleaned up, settle the kids down.... And then we'll talk about our .... Situation alright?" He sighs out. Myles was .... A little afraid to give Yukie his answer. He didn't want the younger to think he was desperate .... But he didn't want to get tied down have a happy life and then just have it all swept away from him either. 

Myles whipped up something quick for the kids to eat, to get them quieted down, he sent a text to Darrius to take a few laps around the neighborhood and fill up Yukie's gas tank after, little shit speed demon that his coworker is, wasting all Yukie's gas.  

" Come to my room, we'll leave the door cracked to keep an eye for the kids..." Myles states after setting them both up to eat.

“Sorry I just it’s been a rough month and I just. I’m sorry.” Yukie replied calming himself down a little as Haru finally settled and Tama did Yukie relieved to see the kids relaxing and less angry. “Darrius tried to feed them both doughnuts….Haru doesn’t even have teeth yet.” Yukie added explaining that the kids had been offered food but Yukie wasn’t sure if they should eat it. “I was suppose to play it safe with foods until we get a pediatrician and check Haru for allergies.” Yukie explained as he took a deep breath settling himself even more. At the mention of going into Myles room Yukie was even more unsure as he looked at Myles uneasy. “Alright….” Yukie whispered unsure about going into Myles room but well he wanted to hear the man out and a part of him really hoped this was just a big mistake and he could at least salvage their friendship.

Leading the other inside, Myles gave one last look at the kids before closing the door just enough to keep them from hearing or prying in. The redhead took a deep breath. 

"I ...... I suppose I should start with my own apology and explanation....." Myles admits tugging at a strand of his hair again. " I'm .... Not exactly the best at receiving .... confessions of that magnitude a-and I normally reject people right from the jump bu-but .... " he swallows, the words he wants to say forming a lump in his throat. "..... You're ..... You've been a different story from the start .... You've barely been here a few months, we are 11 years apart, and you have not just one but two kids to think about.... People your age are busy getting their own lives started ....." Myles fixes his green eyes at Yukie. He tries to looks stern but .... there is a tinge of fear shining in those eyes. "That's exactly the problem.... You ARE a young adult ... What if a few years down the road you get tired of not only this life but being with somebody older .... What if you start feeling tied down or bored because I know I can't keep up with you if you want to go out for all hours of the night ..... If you're serious .... And dead set on giving" the red head gestures between them both "This, US a try ..... You need to know and understand that I'm ready and excited to have a family. To settle down and be apart of those kids lives.... " Myles can feel the fire on his red face. "  I have to know you are to ...."

“I know we’ve only known each other for a few months. I know our age gap…it’s strange and maybe I’m wrong for wanting to be with someone who is older than me.” Yukie stated as he sat on the bed after listening to Myles speak. “I’ve never been one to go out partying or doing things most people my age are and going out all hours isn’t something I’ve ever enjoyed. I personally have always just been more homebound and wanting to work, I want to see the world not go crazy and disappear for days on an adventure binge. I can understand your fear….though. I’m a man who speaks my issues and  it ever comes to me feeling tied down or bored with us well I’m sure we could talk it out. I mean I worry I’m not cut out for being a parent for ending my single life…but I know I could have the kids babysat by Yue or Yuen and go on a spring break or something to burn off any energy if I needed a break.” Yukie stated trying to show he did think long term. Taking a deep sigh Yukie ran his hand through his hair as he talked trying to figure out if he was feeling what he was feeling.

”Myles….If I’m honest, I’m also worried about you dating someone so young. It might be scandalous to introduce me to family…or anyone I can’t ignore the age gap and that well you might not want us long term. You…You might just want a family….and not me one day. You might get tiered of having to deal with us and you might want to find someone else.” Yukie explained as he looked at the man before him unsure of his words. “Everything for me right now is jumbled. I love the kids but I’m also terrified to raise them. I…I feel the same about you. I like you and I’ve fallen for you, but I’m terrified to fall in love again only to be thrown aside when you’ve found someone else.” Yukie explained his voice full of pain as he spoke. “I’m afraid that if we aren’t comparable in all aspects you won’t want me you…you’ll wake up one day and leave.” Yukie added as he calmed his shaky words.

”I’m excited at the thought of settling down with you, to have this family together. But I want to make sure first that we are a good couple together before we are a family together. I don’t want to be an interest for you just because I have a family….I want to know you love me…and want me.” Yukie whispered hoping Myles understood his meaning since he was having a touch trouble explaining how he felt so Myles understood.

The older man stared at Yukie, without so kuch as a twitch of his brows. He took in yet another deep breathe ".... So .... We both really want to do this then?" Myles asked after what must've felt like the longest silent pause. 

He stared straight at Yukie, almost like.he was trying to peer into the younger man's eyes to detect any lie, any kind of falsehood. "Because if you're completely serious .... Both of us having all the cards on the table...." Myles eyes suddenly left Yukie's and his faced seemed to glow from the redness on his cheeks now "We can try .... And see how things go from here then...."

“I don’t see any problem trying. I mean it will be…interesting.” Yukie added as he sighed and looked at Myles before covering his face and flopping back on the bed. “Ugh this is so difficult I know nothing about you and it’s hard to be comfortable talking to you…. My last relationship was so straightforward and really you could say blunt.” Yukie admitted as he sat back up his face burning as he looked at Myles studying him for a moment before speaking deciding to brave it and ask his questions to the poor man.

”Myles, do you ever see us having sex? I mean are you wanting that kind of a relationship or are you looking for just a settle down spend my years with you raising kids only relationship?” Yukie asked very bluntly as he didn’t even know anything Myles liked or really wanted.

Myles didn't think his face could get any hotter. "E-EXCUSE ME!!" 

Myles felt his head spinning, spluttering with his words, "I-I don't!! I--I! ...." The red head swallowed. "I-I .... Won't say .... That I don't see it happening.... I-I mean--" a little whimper escapes him. "If w-we do I hope you don't mind tattoos.... " Myles rubs at his neck, before rushing to change the subject. He heard years ago that tattoos weren't well received in Japan. Something about them being associated with the mafia? Myles wasn't sure on details. "An-anyway we can talk on that another time! We should step back out and check on the kids!" And with that the red head rushed out of the room.

“I don’t mind tattoos. Yuen has them I’ve often gone with him to see him get them.” Yukie replied as he followed Myles out of the room amused by his embarrassment. “Is it a large one?” Yukie asked curiously as he noticed Haru had fallen asleep and Tama was just playing with his shirt sleeve and chewing on it. “I don’t see why you would think that having a tattoo is a bad thing.” Yukie added as he gently grabbed Myles shirt so he could try and calm the man down.

Myles squealed when he felt the younger man grab his shirt, immediately going to close his shirt tighter around himself. 

" U-um .... Y-you could say it's um... It's a large tattoo, yes...." Myles answered the best he could. "I-it's uh.... Pretty expansive and ... A little fem--" suddenly Myles heard his phone vibrate on the counter, startling him. "O-one second!" He tells Yukie while he answers it.

Yukie chuckled as he looked at Myles being so bashful about his tattoo. Letting the man go Yukie walked over and picked up Tama who cooed in delight at the attention. Settling down on the couch Yukie played with the infant playing peekaboo and making silly faces to make the baby laugh.

Myles quickly looked to the notification and grimaced. "Brace yourself, Darrius already made the rounds and now he's coming up." The redhead stated just before said coworker burst through the apartment. "OK LET'S GO GIMME DETAILS WHAT'S HAPPENING?!?" Darrius demands, scattering bags of convenience store goodies all over Myles table, Myles quickly nabbing Haru so the poor child isn't buried. The redhead pinches the bridge of his nose sighing in annoyance. He should've known. "Tell you what exactly Darrius? Nothing's happened--"

"BULLSHIT!"

"Language!!" 

Darrius rolls his eyes, "that there proves my point, ANYWAY! don't gimme none of that! I know Yuyu and you have a thing going on now Gimme details!!" Darrius demands again plopping on a chair at Myles island counter.

Myles grew more flustered. He and Yukie didn't even get to talk about their relationship yet! He didn't want to have it spread around the office and have people poking into his private life! Not yet anyway. He DEFINITELY didn't want to tell the office gossip! But Darrius really could read the man like a book. He rolls his eyes, "Listen I swear on my job that I'm gonna keep this quiet for a change if not foe your sake at least for Yukie's" he turns to the young father. "You gonna get some salty bitches after you once this comes out but I promise ya both it won't be from me."
