ShadowsLie
Mostly between an older guy and a younger guy? I always thought the more popular appeal for viewers was two young/attractive people, but every anime so far has been of a huge age gap. Examples would be Masaomi x Mikado or Izaya / Shizuo people of the same age group.
DyingRemnant33
Mmm it's like a fantasy boy on boy love or dark story but with mild n strong sexual things. Idk y I ever got into it
YaoTaku98
Hmmm.... I think it's because of the difference in experience... I mean an experienced older guy with an innocent little lover pretty much balances out... It's only my opinion, though... I don't really know why I'm drawn to them... kjyc
you should read some different styles of yaoi old school yaoi is as u said age gap but you can find heaps of different types ne >. dunno why its appealing i like all yaoi. Though i think whats hot about age gap yaoi is cos the older guy has a big dick normally and the younger one is petite so it looks like there being really dominated. Just my perverted opinion shounen-ai is mostly cute young guys together bara is mostly old guys together or old ukes theres artists that are known for doing pretty boy on boy combos

ShadowsLie
Thanks for replies Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. oh, I always thought Shounen-ai was just hinted yaoi, most of the Shounen-ai anime are still huge age gaps. But that's probably because they're animes, I'd probably be able to find two young people in manga more often , but I hardly read manga XD. ShadowsLie
I guess what confuses me is I always thought that an anime with eye candy characters such as Ciel and Alois made into a shounen-ai anime would make tons of cash for the producers. (Not talking about the same characters, just general appearance).
Sloan
I think it's part of Japanese culture... Think about the sensei, senpai system, junior and senior. Social status is huge so I guess age gap came naturally to them. 15 years old considered old enough to enter adult-orientated sites. So their 'maturity' or consent limit is much younger and young people having relationship early on is more acceptable than the west. Wider age gap is more acceptable than the west. Incest or half blooded is more acceptable than the west. I forgot to add is that the culture is different in terms of family. We tend to be very close to our relatives, right? Not in Japan, the close relationship come from younger-older relationships. Bonding... looking after the younger is considered very important in Japan. When I say younger and older, I mean not the age but rather someone's who younger and older than you. This is what I think.
