[Envy]

Knight had expected the boys reaction and didn't hesitate to close his arms around him.

 

One hand moved up into his dark hair and ran through it soothingly.

 

“It's alright Akira.” he said reassuringly “I found you.”

 

He let the cat cry as much as he needed to resting him against him comfortably until he stopped crying all together. When there was nothing left but a few hick ups, he pulled him back so he could look at him.

 

“I'll take you home and you can take a long bath and a nap after wards. How's that sound?” he asked as he wiped the young ones face with the cuff of his black coat gently.

Akira was surprised feeling the older mans arms close around him. He patted his head soothingly and Akira had to fight everything in him to not purr. The feeling was weird like...something swelling up in his chest crawling up his throut and out for the master to hear. He was lucky enough for the master to stop and pull back from him.

 

"Master, I want to go home." He sniffed and flicked his ears looking up at the man as he stood.

 

Akira made his way to stand but feel back down the moment he did. His legs felt like jelly. He couldnt move them in the direction he wanted them to go. He started to tear up and looked at the master, "W-What did they do to me?" He asked touching his legs and finding that his arms also felt numb.

 

What had the men given him? He didnt remember drinking anything from them or eating. He thought back but his mind was hazy and he started to feel dizzy.

Knight stood and when Akira tried to and fell back down he was surprised, he seemed fine a moment ago.

 

When he looked up at him and asked what was wrong, he didn't have an answer.

 

He knelt back down and steadied him when he swayed like he was about to pass out. Not knowing what they had given him, if anything, he picked up the gag in his hand and in the folds he found a powder that had been wet from being in the cats mouth.

 

Resting the cat against his body again, he dipped a finger into the still dry powder and placed it on his tongue. He knew this drug and was relieved it wasn't something stronger as he turned his head and spat it back out. It was a favored sedative that was slow acting but harmless in the end, the worst the cat might get is a day of being sick.

 

Picking Akira up in his arms, he walked out of the cell, shifted his small body so he rested more on one of his shoulders and made his way up to the deck.

 

When he emerged, the town guards had the ship in their custody and Simon was currently still being held. Once again, Knight shifted the smaller body against his before he began to walk towards the ship owner who was now sputtering out excuses as to why the cat had been in his hold in the first place.

He had broken the law and got caught red handed.

 

Knight stopped and looked at him for a moment “It appears that you will be spending some time in Duark prison.” he said to the man, his voice and eyes impassive. “Take him away.” he told the guards who shackled the man and dragged him off his own ship cursing and kicking.

 

Following, Knight carried the younger male with him as he left the ship, his household waiting for him on the docks. They were all relieved to see the cat in his arms.

 

Everyone decided to go back to the house and return tomorrow for any more shopping, since Knight gave them all the next day off for helping to look for Akira.

 

It wasn't long before they were back on the road for home, Knight carried the now sleeping cat with him on his horse once more.

 

When they arrived, he allowed Rei and Karen to take him to his room to rest while he went to report what had happened to the district magistrate.

Akira saw the master pick up the gag and look at the powder in it. So that is what they had given him. Akira looked at the master and smiled leaning agianst him heavily. He was surprised the master was still allowing him to lean on him this way.

 

The master picked Akira up and the sudden movement made the room tip and spin. Akira hunkered down in the masters chest not wanting to see anymore of the room.

 

He was in and out...the light of the outside, he could hear many people around them and the sound of chains clanking together. He kept his eyes shut and leaned closer to master. He felt the masters chest vibrate as he talked and the feeling made Akira curl into himself.

 

A warm feeling washed over his body and he fought to stay awake. He remembered Karen and Rei talking to the master then he was getting on the horse again for home. The movements of the horse moving back and forth seemed to rock him to sleep for he didnt remember anything after that.

Akira woke to the sound of birds chirping. He moved his ears trying to hear around the room for anyone. Hearing nothing he opened his eyes just to close them agian. A window was open and the sun shined in his eyes, it made his head hurt. He pulled his arm from out of the sheets and put it over his face. He sighed and arched his back mumbling and trying to sit up but having to stall himself for the sudden dizzeness in his head. He pressed his hand to his forehead and breathed deeply trying not to gag.

Knight walked the stairs to the upper floors, coming to the servant quarters, he walked down the quiet halls.

 

The house was silent since most of his staff were out for the day and only he Rei and two other kitchen workers remained. Rei was making lunch, so Knight decided to check on Akira who had been asleep since before they had returned.

When Rei last peeked in he was still out cold.

 

Coming to a stop at the door, Knight slowly opened it and looked inside in time to see him shifting in the bed. Leaving the door partially open Knight softly called the cats name as he moved to his bedside.

 

Noticing his breathing, he figured he was going to be sick, so he turned to grab the empty pale they had left in the room yesterday in case he woke in the middle of the night sick to his stomach.

 

Placing it on the floor, he moved to Akira, sitting on the bed he pulled him to the edge. He rubbed his back soothingly.

 

“If you let it all out, you'll feel better.” he told him “It's not going to be pleasant, but it'll help.”

Akira heard the master and felt his warm hand on his back. He leaned over the bed and into the pale.

 

He unloaded his stomach til he was gaging up nothing but air yet his stomach still insisted somthing was left. Tears streaked his face and he wiped his mouth and looked up at the master and blushing. He showed the master such a disrespectful thing. He moved to get up and clean when he had to stop himself and lean over the pale again heaving but nothing comeing up.

 

"W-What happened?" Akira barely recognized his own voice. It was shaking and wavering with fear as he puked up his guts into the now almost full pale.

He unloaded his stomach til he was gaging up nothing but air yet his stomach still insisted somthing was left. Tears streaked his face and he wiped his mouth and looked up at the master and blushing. He showed the master such a disrespectful thing. He moved to get up and clean when he had to stop himself and lean over the pale again heaving but nothing comeing up.

 

"W-What happened?" Akira barely recognized his own voice. It was shaking and wavering with fear as he puked up his guts into the now almost full pale.

“Your sick from the drug powder they gave you yesterday. It will pass, but you have to let it run it's course.” he told him, pulling him back onto the bed just as Rei walked inside the room.

 

“Rei, can you get another pale and dump this one? I'll run to the kitchen and get him some water and set up a bath.” he said as she stood. “Akira, stay in bed.” he added.

 

Rei got a clean pale from the cleaning supply closet on their floor and took it back to the room. Covering the one already used, he made his way to the kitchen and dumped it out, cleaning it and taking it back.

 

Knight made a tea for Akira with ginger that would help with the nausea. He gave it to Rei to take back up with him. An hour later he went up to see if it had helped.

Knight walked into the cats room and told Rei to grab him some extra clothing and towel.

 

While the half elf did so, Knight picked Akira out of the bed, carrying his bridal style out of the room with Rei following right behind him.

 

They made their way down the stairs to the baths.

 

Knight placed Akira down on one of the benches, then gave him a small smile

 

“Rei is going to help you ok? Just try and be careful.” he said as he stood “Give me a call if you need any extra help Rei. I'll wait in the hall.”

 

And with that he was gone.

 

Rei walked over to his friend, “Come on, I'll help you.”

 

He helped him undress and then climb into the tub.

Akira wrapped his arms around the masters neck on the way there then watched as he left. His stomach was still hurting. He smiled at Rei and helped him get rid of the clothes then stepped into the back sinking down into it sighing. "Thank you Rei." He said smileing and closing his eyes letting the steam help his stomach. He wanted the master to come in and help. He thought about what he could do to get him in here.

Rei smiled and gave a nod of his head.

 

“I'll go and get more tea. It'll help if your stomach if it's still bothering you.” his friend said “I'll have Master Knight come in and keep an eye on you until I get back.” he gave his head a quick pat and walked from the room.

 

So he and Karen said they wouldn't push them together, but Rei was smart enough to know Akira would rather have Knight instead of him stay with him. Walking out into the hall he looked up at his master.

 

“His stomach is still bothering him. I'm going to get him a cup of that tea.” he said, knowing that Knight wouldn't let one of his sick household members be alone if he could help them.

 

Nodding Knight walked back into the bathing room and walked over to the tub being used by Akira.

 

“Still not feeling well?” he asked as he pulled one of the stools from the wall and sitting in it next to the tub.

Akira blushed and watched the master walk over. "No, still feeling upset i think." Akira set up and set his arms on the side of the tub looking at the master resting his head on his arms. He smiled and his ears perked up and his tail moved in the water making it slosh around.

 

He blushed and looked up at the master, "You think you could wash my hair?" He asked looking at him excited.

Chuckling Knight gave him a nod and got up.

 

He walked to the shelf where the jars of soaps and the cut soaps are kept. He picked a glass green jar and took I back with him. Placing it on the stool top, he rolled the sleeves of his shirt up past his elbows.

 

Taking the jar and opened it. Placing the stool behind the tub he had Akira sit up and face forward. Pouring some of the soap into his hands, he began to work it into the cats hair, scooping some water into his palm and wetting the cats hair so the lather thickened as his fingers worked through the dark locks.

 

He almost laughed at himself.

 

Here he was, a lord of one the kingdoms most wealthiest regions, and he was spoiling one of his house workers. But he couldn't bring himself to say no to him. The look on his face was too adorable to pass.

 

He shook his head a little at himself he continued to work.

Akira knew that this was asking to much of the master but he couldnt stop himself from asking.

 

He felt the masters warm hands work though his hair touching his ears softly. He twitched them when water got in them and he felt that vibrating feeling comeing up his chest agian. This time he didnt mind showing it off. He purred lightly and leaned back into the masters touch. He blushed but closed his eyes not careing that he had asked the master to do this for a lowely servant like himself.

 

He purred quietly getting used to the feel. He wasnt sure if the master could hear but he didnt mine if he did. The only one who seemed to make him want to pur was the master himself. He had never done it before yet it came to him like second nature. He smiled and let his tail move slowly between his back and the tub.

Knight's hands slowed when he he heard the unmistakeable sound of purring.

 

Listening for a moment, he chuckled inwardly. Of course he could purr like a cat. He had the ears and tail so it was only reasonable.

 

“I'm going to lay your head back into the water Akira.” he told him,not wanting to startle him by doing it without warning and began to wash the soap out of his hair.

 

Making sure to get all the soap out, he helped him sit up once again. He took the bath sponge and soap and washed the cats back too. If he was helping, he may as well. When he was just finishing,Rei walked in with a mug of the tea.

 

Seeing the master helping with the cats bath instead of waiting for his return made the half Elf smile inwardly. He never seen Knight actually help bath someone before. He's seen him do all the other things he's done for Akira with him and the others, but this. This was something new.

 

“Here Akira.” Rei said, pretending he didn't see anything as he offered the mug to his friend.

Akira liked the feel of the masters hands touching his back and going though his hair. He smiled and giggled under his breath. He sighed in content.

 

Akira heard the door open and he moved slightly away from the master and stopped purring. He took the cup from Rei and drank from it greedily. "Thank you Rei." He said quitly pulling his ears back feeling the tea go down to fast hurting his stomach. He turned to the master and bowed his head, "Thank you, master for helping me." He said blushing slightly. He loved this man though he knew he could never be with him...this was the best it was going to be.

Giving him a warm smile, Knight gave a small nod of his head

 

“Your welcome Akira.” he stood up and stretched and then looked down at him

 

“Take your time and enjoy your bath. I have to get some work done. If you feel like you can't get back to your room, send Rei to me and I'll come back.”

 

He gave them both a pat on the head as he left the room.

 

Rei took the stool their master vacated and took the mug from Akira when he was done.

 

“Did he wash your hair? Or do you need help with it?” the half elf asked, deciding not to talk about the apparent bond that the cat and their master seemed to be forming.

Akira blushed looking away from Rei. "H-he did it already." He said hoping he wouldnt get in trouble from making the master do something that a servant would normally do. Akira felt his heart ache as he watched the master leave. He wanted him to stay longer.

 

"R-rei. I-I'm done. I dont want to be in the water anymore." He stood not careing for Rei was his friend. He felt himself sway and start to tip over. He caught himself on the edge of the tub breathing hard. The steam and his stomach hurting had made him feel even worse. He was happy though now that he felt clean. He waited a moment trying to breath again but the breaths came short. He touched his chest feeling his heart speed up. He couldnt breath. He leaned his head down trying to breath but nothing came.

Rei was at his friends side in a moment, dropping the jar of soap he had been closing to the stone floor.

 

He wrapped his arms around the cat, and pulled him from the water, not sure what was wrong, he laid him on the cold stone floor

 

“Akira, take deep breaths, slowly not all at once.” he said urgently, trying to calm himself as well as the other boy. “Like this.” he said as he took a few deep breaths and let them out calmly.

 

“Try it.” he said

Akira looked at Rei trying to match his breaths but couldn't. He breathed quickly not getting enough air in him. He looked at Rei worried not knowing what was going to happen to him. He gripped Rei's arm digging his nails into the skin there. "M-master." He said one word and looked up at Rei with pure terror in his gaze. He couldnt calm down and he didnt know why. He started looking at Rei's chest seeing it move up and down in a slow movement. He started to try and match it.

Akira looked at Rei trying to match his breaths but couldn't. He breathed quickly not getting enough air in him. He looked at Rei worried not knowing what was going to happen to him. He gripped Rei's arm digging his nails into the skin there. "M-master." He said one word and looked up at Rei with pure terror in his gaze. He couldnt calm down and he didnt know why. He started looking at Rei's chest seeing it move up and down in a slow movement. He started to try and match it.

Rei jumped up to his feet and ran out the room so fast he overs hot his stop and caught himself on a table in the kitchen. He didn't know what to do for the cat, so maybe Knight did.

 

He frantically told one of the cooks to get their master, turned and ran back to the bathing room.

 

He grabbed a towel and wrapped it around the cats hips “He's coming.” he said and tried to encourage him to breath deeply again.

 

Knight had been sitting in his office when Bonny came running in without knocking. He had looked up at her with a small frown before hie brow rose at her heavy breathed words. He got up and hurried to the bathing rooms. Seeing Rei with Akira laid out on the floor, he made his way to them.

 

“What happened?” he asked as he knelt down beside the cat and half elf.

 

“I dunno. He just started breathing like this. I tried to get him to calm down but...” he didn't get to finish as Knight took the cat in his arms and stood up.

 

“Get the back door Rei.” he said as he turned to go, the half elf shooting out the room before him.

 

“Akira, listen, hold your breath.” he said slowly as he walked, “Then let it out as slow as you can.”

 

When he got to the back door, he walked out into the cold. He went to a snow covered table and sat on the bench there. He sat the cat up in his lap with him still telling him how to breathe. He held him with one hand and scooped up some snow in the other. Rubbing the cold substance on his back, shocking him into taking a deeper breathe.

 

He placed some on the back of his neck, along his shoulders, the whole while he talked low and calmly. He didn't stop until the cat was silent, and then called for a blanket from Rei who had been in the door the whole time.

 

Rei had it to him as fast as his legs could carry him and Knight wrapped it around the cat, covering the back of his head to his legs, but no moves to go back inside just yet as he laid him out in his arms again.

He began to run his fingers in the boys hair to help him relax, talking to him the whole time as he rested against his chest.

Akira breathed quickly looking shocked as Rei left. He didnt want him to go...he felt alone without him. Rei entered the room agian and walked to him telling him to breath deeply. Akira didnt listen and strained his ears to hear the sound of the master coming.

 

Tears streaked his face as he looked up at the master. He scooped him in his arms and started walking. Akira did as he was told and held his breath then let it out slowly feeling it hitch in his chest wanting to pull back in and out quickly. He fought it and shivered as they walked outside into the snow. He watched the masters chest rise and fall matching his to it. He was finally calm and took a deep fresh breath of cold air. He was still scared and shook from head to toe.

 

He curled his legs up into his chest and dug his face in the warmth of the others chest. He liked his scent and it helped calm him. He felt his tail wrap around the masters thigh and his ears flatten as he started to cry. He had almost died...well he felt like he did. He hid his face feeling the warm fingers run through his hair. He let himself calm down enough to let out a small purr here and there. He loved the feel of the masters touch, it helped calm him.

 

He still shook lightly but he looked up at the master seeing worry written all over his face. Akira looked at him and tried to speak but it was like he had run a marathon and he couldnt speak without breathing hard. He was okay but the recovery was still taking place as he took in shallow deep breaths looking up at the master. He was breath taking against the white snow. His features popped out to Akira more than ever and he ached to feel him...to kiss him. He turned his face away blushing knowing it was impossible.

 

He left his tail were it was around his thigh. It was warm there and Akira liked it, letting the warmth travel up his tail and to his back making him shiver agian. He clutched the blanket around him still not trusting himself to speak.

Knight waited for another five minutes before he stood and walked back inside, carrying the cat with him easily.

 

Taking the stairs he headed up to the next level with Rei following worriedly on his heels. He took Akira up to his own room. He told the half elf to partially open two of the windows as he lowered himself onto the bed, keeping the cat against him.

 

Rei kept his face composed before his eyes had a chance to pop out of his head as he entered the masters personal room and did as he asked.

 

“Is there anything else I can do master?” he asked looking at Akira in concern.

 

Knight shook his head some as he arranged himself to lounge back on the pillows against the headboard of his large bed.

 

“Not at the moment Rei. Check back in an hour.” he told him as he loosened the blankets around the silent boy.

 

Rei nodded and left the room silently, leaving the two alone for now.

 

Knight looked down at the cat in his arms “Are you feeling nay better?” he asked him quietly, brushing his hair back with his fingers.

Akira wrapped his arms around the masters neck as he was picked up again. He knew he was completly naked besides the blanket wrapped around him. He liked it and sunk deeper. They started down a hallway that Akira had never been down. He was to tired to really look around as they made their way to a door.

 

He stayed silent as he saw the large bed and felt the master move to it. He was sat down with the master in his arms still and covered up. He blushed and waited for Rei to leave to do anything.

 

"Are you feeling any better?" The master asked brushing back some of his hair.

 

Akira snuggled up to his side blushing and hiding his face in the master's shirt, "Y-yes, thank you." He said taking a peak around the room agian. "W-where are we?" He asked not looking up but across the room to the windows seeing outside.

“We are in my room.” he answered as if he normally shared his room with his servants.

 

Which of course he did not.

 

The only time they were allowed there was when they cleaned the two rooms and his private bath.

 

“I'm keeping you with me until I know you are over the that drug in your system. I don't know if that was a reaction or not, some people react differently to things, so I rather not take the chance.” he explained.

 

He already had one of the cooks go to fetch his personal doctor to have a look at the boy, he wanted to make certain he was fine before he let him out of his sight again. He figured he should explain to the other about the doctor just in case he panic when he showed up.

 

“Akira. I had a doctor called. He's a good man, and he's going to look you over to make sure you are going to recover without any more incidents. I trust this man, he's been in my life since I was child. He helped my mother when she gave birth to me and has been a loyal friend. You can trust him, alright?”
