The Doctor took a deep shaky breath then crumbled. His knees gave out but he was able to catch himself on the bed and sit next to Spike. He hadn't been able to meet Spike gaze since he woke up, "because my nightmares are memories that... I choose to forget."

Spike sighed and took a seat next to the doctor. "Yeah? Well, forcing it won't make it happen. They'll just get worse."

The Doctor waved his free hand, "it's fine. Other than that how are you feeling with the bond?" He turned and finally looked at the blond smiling softly.

"I... I feel strange. Don't change the subject. If it was fine..' Spike sighed and looked away. "I wouldn't feel like this."

The Doctor's smile faded, "you should probably not touch me while I'm sleeping then. I can't block all of my mind from you." He looked away. "Sorry..." He knew Spike would even be able to see some of it soon once they settled into the bond more.

"Or you can actually talk about it instead of lying to me." Spike shrugged his shoulders. "Bloody hell, sounds like an idea to me."

"Not today, please," the doctor reached a hand over and took his. "Lets just... get something to eat I'm hungry after all of that." It was obvious this was going to be a battle. Nearly a thousand years of running from memories had built up and he was horrified to face them.

Spike grumbled and got up. "Bloody hell, you're just a bloody wanker."

The Doctor sighed heavily, "Spike... I... just..." The brunette put his face in his hands. "If we rush into it... I'll break... okay?" He took a deep shaky breath. "One day at a time please?" The Tardis seemed to grumble as his unwillingness to help himself and that's when the Tardis spoke to Spike for the first time in his mind.

 

'He needs help.'

"I figured that much." Spike sighed and rubbed his temple. It took him an extra second before his eyes widened. "Wait... What was that?"

The Doctor looked up then smiled, "that's the Tardis. She is speaking to you now since we have the bond." He felt the waves of sweetness from her. She reached to Spike sending her feelings of worry for the Doctor.

"Well... You need to listen to us." Spike looked over at the doctor and smacked his forehead lightly. "Let's break this down and get it out. I told you some of my history."

The Doctor closed an eye as his forehead was tapped, "about your recent years as a vampire yes, William." He raised a brow challenging him. "What... what do you want to start with?..." His voice got lower as he spoke.

Spike glared at the doctor and crossed his arms. "You really need to drop it. That name is no longer mine." The blonde stood up and began pacing. "Just start anywhere. But start."

The Doctor looked at Spike, "Theta is no longer my name. I chose the name of the Doctor to help people and left that behind." He took a deep breath then ran his fingers through his hair. "Where to start... first kiss... first time on Earth... that time I met Dadame de Pompadour and she snogged me." He smiled and shook his head. "Rose was with her boyfriend then."

"Where do you wish to start?" Spike frowned as he stopped pacing and faced the brunette.

The Doctor frowned and shook his head, "I don't wish to start this Spike. You want to start this." He sighed and scratched at his ear lobe. "I'm from a planet called Gallifrey in the constellation of Kasterborous. It's gone now because... there was a time war and we were fighting these creatures called the Dalek's. A group of terrifying creatures. They are emotionless and kill anything in their path. I locked the entire constellation in a time lock to keep the Dalek's from destroying the universe. I wasn't successful because I've had to fight several of them sense. I was useless... fighting that war... putting off the bomb... killing so many... useless..."

Spike sat back down next to the doctor and sighed, draping an arm over his shoulder. "Hey, don't think that. Bloody hell, you're making me a sap."

The Doctor smiled softly and sighed heavily, "you wanted to know. I have lots of bad tales Spike. I don't know if a human could handle them all." He took a deep breath then sighed heavily. "I've killed billions... I'm such a fool." He reached his hand up to Spike's that was wrapped around his shoulders and held his hand.

Spike intertwined their fingers and pulled the brunette closer. "And I want you to get it all out, but don't blame yourself."

"Time Lord brains work very quickly compared to humans and very differently," The Doctor began again. "My brain is already a couple topics ahead by the time I can speak it out loud. Which is why we're mostly telepathic. My dreams would look like an instant to you if we recorded it. It would have to be slowed down by 60% in order for you to make sense out of it. Actually if we recorded it... no no... forget I said that." He took a deep breath.

"Can you do that? Record it?" Spike raised an eyebrow at the doctor and leaned toward him. "It could help speed up your dauntingly slow pace."

The Doctor slowly looked up at him fear clear in his eyes, "it'll... it would kill me Spike... Lets just forget about it huh?" He pushed the blond back and kissed him. "It's just silly memories."

"Silly memories that haunt you." Spike shook his head and stepped away. "Fine. Then neither of us will talk about anything."

The Doctor clenched his teeth and looked down, "Fine... we'll record it... but you have to watch it first..." The brunette sighed not wanting Spike to be upset with him. It hurt him to feel his anger through the bond.
