In another dimension, an otaku vampire, Staz Charlie Blood and his gang stumble upon Fuyumi Yanagi,

a high school girl who somehow finds her way into their dimension from the human world.

Fuyumi's presence induces a vampiric infatuation from Staz, but his time with her is cut short

after she is killed by a rogue carnivorous demon plant and turns into a ghost, leaving Staz determined to resurrect her as a living human. Eventually, Fuyumi's desire to go back home coincides with Staz's desire to visit the source of his otaku desires and they step into a dimensional portal which exists in modern day Japan.

Bl o o dL ad is a manga series created by Yuuki Kodama, serialized in Young Ace magazine.

The anime adaptation became possible under the direction of Shigeyuki Miwa at Brain's Base Studio, with series composition by Takeshi Konuta, character designs by Kenji Fujisaki, art direction by Masaki Mayuzumi and Toshiyuki Sakae and sound direction by Satoki Iida.

02.2013 - Blood Lad's official website confirmed to air the anime adaptation on TV.

03.2013 - Kurokawa:Blood Lad's first promotional video streamed, featuring "ViViD" by May'n as the opening theme.

Anime distributor VizMedia announced at the Anime Expo 2013 that it has licensed the anime for streaming on their website VizAnime, to be broadcast on Neon Alley in 2014. License includes home media, download-to-own, and streaming rights. Blu-ray Disc and DVD releases also comes in 2014.
