We only invite the brightest and most talented to our school. We are a sophomore to Senior year school. So we welcome you and wish you the best of luck here at Authins School of Arts.

What will happen when an art student and music student get placed in the same dorm room will the rocking music of the musical genius annoy the silent work of the artistic protégé ? How will this polar opposite duo deal with being stuck together?

He is a bit cold and distant. Rude and cocky. He is not that sociable and doesn't really like people. This is why this year having a roommate is not a thing he wanted.

 

Bio:

He picked up his first guitar when he was 5 years old since then he has been at it none stop. He has always had the talent. But it was his discipline and determination that got him there. He grew up in an orphanage so really no one to back him up in his dreams. So he picked up his guitar and his acceptance letter and packed up to go to the private school. He has everything to lose if he does not make it in this school. When he plays music Shin loses himself and feels ever note and beat with his whole body. Each song that he strums quietly tells a different story.

He's very naive and oblivious with not much friends. It's not that he's anti-social or anything(he actually tries his best to make friends), he just tends to doze out and think of new thing to draw or paint and his vivid imagination usually makes others back off. He was actually quite glad to have a roommate, expecting a new friend. (Oh, how wrong he was)

 

Bio:

Kaoru's parents were always away on business trips and the like so, always left alone in the huge mansion, he let his imaginations run wild and started to paint or draw anything and everything that comes to mind. Every stroke made him forget his loneliness and before he knew it, art has become a part of him - his safety blanket. Despite this, he wanted to feel the warmth of a human being but he always finds himself back in front of his canvas, wanting, yet not daring, to stop his friends whom he unconsciously distanced himself from. He loves and loathes art all at once

Shin walked into the main dormitory hall pulling his suitcase along and guitar case strapped to his back. Shin looked at all the room numbers sighing. He had to be moved into a new room because they were renovating the old ones and what was more unpleasing is that he was told that he had to share a room with some new student. An art student at that. Couldn't they at least put him with a music student. This was going to be a long few days. Shin looked and finally found his dorm he took his key unlocked the door and walked in.

Kaoru woke up feeling very excited. He was gonna meet his new roommate today! Looking around his messy room, he decided to clean up for his upcoming new friend. He picked up a blank canvas and glared at it. "I'm not letting you distract me from my new friend anymore." as he said the words, a scenery popped into his mind. Grabbing his art materials, he sat in front of the canvas and started painting, already distracted from cleaning and forgetting the arrival of his new roommate. That is, until he heard the door unlock and open.

 

(Thanks... *blush* I hope my first scene isn't so bad... *nervous laugh*)

Shin walked into the room and saw the young boy sitting there drawing on the canvas. He frowned as he looked at all the art supplies littering the dorm room floor and then he looked at the canvas and was stunned as he looked at the picture. It was the fountain that was located at the student quad near the music hall. Shin was very familiar to this place because he had on many occasions sat there and played or practiced some of his new songs for class at night so that no one could judge or criticize him. "I hope this will not be a regular occurrence. I despise messes." Shin stated in a cold tone.

Kaoru stiffened at the cold voice and turned around to see a boy standing in the doorway who seemed to be glaring at him. He looked around the room with a confused expression. "Didn't I just cl-" his eyes landed on the painting he just finished. "oh.." He then proceeded to glare at it. Again forgetting about his new roommate as an imperfection to the painting caught his eye.

You are doing great! I wouldn't think that this was your first RP. -smiles- You have done some good things. Like how your character thought to himself that the painting would not hold him back from friends again. That opens the door for a flashback later on and that is important in RPs -smiles-

 

Shin sighed more deeply and went to his bed and set his things down and looked down at the paint supplies ridden floor. He looked back at the boy and sighed even more. This was going to be the worst scenario ever. The boy was not even paying attention to him anymore he was instead still more focused on his painting. Well at least the brat isn't going to be bugging him constantly while he is trying to work on songs. Shin took out his guitar and started to strum a random song he had learned his first year here.

Kaoru was finishing the final touches of his painting when a beautiful melody floated in his ears, reminding him of the presence of his new roommate. 'Oh no! I forgot about him. It might be too late for introductions but I won't let my chance to make a new friend slip away. I need to make a good first(more like second) impression'

"U-Uhm!" He stood up abruptly and whipped around to face his new roommate, causing his painting to fall with a clatter. "Wah! U-uhmm... My name is Kaoru- Wah!" he attempted to introduce himself while picking up the fallen canvas only to trip and fall to the ground with a loud thud.

Shin sighed again and stopped playing his guitar. He put it to the side of him and looked down at the boy as he panicked to pick up his paint supplies. 'He is so pathetic. I mean look at him.' Shin got up and picked up the art supplies and some of the paints and handed them back to the boy glaring. "My name is Shin and I would very much appreciate it if you did not make a mess on my side of the room. I understand that Art Students can be messy students but please can you atleast try to keep it at a minimum?" Shin didn't even wait for an answer. He went back on his bed and started to tune his guitar.

Kaoru stared at the floor after being told off by Shin. "S-sorry... I'll try to be quiet from now on..." he mumbled, looking dejected. 'So much for making a new friend' He just continued cleaning up and proceeded to move his things to his side of the room. Seeing as his new roommate didn't seem to want to be friends, Kaoru just sighed and let the lonely abyss of his imagination and art consume him. 'So much for finally being saved...'

Shin kept on strumming along the strings softly and opened his eyes and sighed as he looked at the other boys crushed face. He didn't really care but for some reason this kid's expression seem really hurt. Had he finally gone too far? He shook his head inwardly and looked at the clock it was dinner time at the dinning hall by now. He should probably go try to see if there was anything edible there. He looked back at his roommate and sighed even more. "Hey. Art brat, want to accompany me to go get something to eat?" Shin asked as he waved his hand in front of the other student's face.

Kaoru's face brightened at Shin's offer. Looking up to his roommates face, he nodded eagerly. "Sure" he said with a bright smile. 'He might not be so bad, after all.' Kaoru made to stand up but ended up tripping on his art supplies that were scattered on the floor by his side. 'Not again' he thought as he closed his eyes and waited for the pain of the impact to come.

Shin reacted quickly and caught Kaoru but he moved to fast and he himself tripped over the paints and then he maneuvered so he would fall on the bottom. When he did he groaned. "Dammit how clumsy are you?" Shin yelled as he rubbed his head he looked up to see the younger boy on top of him. "Hey you just going to stay there or going to get up so I can actually move?" Shin asked as he started to try to move to get up.

Kaoru's face went red as he realized what their position would look like to outsiders. Hearing his new roommate yell at him had his brain working a hundred miles an hour. 'Darn! How clumsy can I get? Just when he was finally starting to talk to me a bit nicely. Now he won't even want to be around me anymore...' He snapped out of his daze and immediately stood up, face becoming even redder (if that was even possible) when Shin complained about not being able to move. "S-sorry" he muttered, offering his hand to help his fallen roommate. "A-and thanks... F-for catching me..." he just hoped Shin wouldn't slap away his hand.

(Sorry getting ready for bed)

 

Shin glared up took the boys hand and pulled himself up making sure not to drop the boy. " Whatever. It's fine youre just lucky I didn't sprain my hand." Shin stated dusting himself off and noticing he had green paint all over the back of his shirt. He sighed and in one swift movement took it off and made his way to his suitcase to grab another.

Kaoru breathed a sigh of relief at Shin's forgiveness only to hold it when his roommate proceeded to take off his shirt. 'His form is so beautiful... More like a model than a musician...' Kaoru thought, in a daze. Before he can stop his self, words came pouring out of his mouth. "Will you let me draw you?"

Shin proceeded to put on his shirt and then turned to face the other at the question blinking. "Why would you want to draw me? I thought you were a scenery artist." Shin commented as the gestured to the painting that the boy had been working on earlier of the fountain. "I used to go there allot when I was a freshman at nights. It is the closest to the accurate thing as I have seen. Maybe even more so that the one the dean had made a few years back." Shin complimented. "Ready?"

Kaoru blushed at the compliment. "Y-you're right. I just paint scenery..." He really wasn't just a scenery artist, it's just that the only artworks he passes to the school are scenery paintings. On the contrary, his first drawing was that of his parents and him. A picture of a happy family- the family he longed for. He still continued to draw people- groups of friends, a few happy families- but the longer he drew portraits, the more unfamiliar the characters became. He no longer drew portraits of people he knew. Because his drawings depicted what he wanted and looking at what he longed for when he knew he wasn't gonna get it simply hurt. Even he was surprised at the request he so carelessly blurted out. Realizing he was asked a question, Kaoru timidly nodded his head and made to go out the door.

Shin sighed to himself inwardly and started to let his mind wonder a bit. The boy he was now roomed with was sort of strange but even more strange was the fact that he had not gotten a read on him. He was at a complete lost on how the boy was truly. Usually when he met someone he quickly knew what they would be like and what to tell them to get the to react certain ways. But this boy. This silent little artist seemed to be different he wasn't like the rest of them. His eyes and the way he spoke almost made Shin feel sorry for him. Almost. Shin had no time to start feeling sorry for these every kid he saw. He had his own problems to deal with. "So are you new here? I usually see everyone at least once around here. BUt I have never seen you."

"E-eh? Uhmm... Y-yeah... I'm quite new here." Kaoru answered timidly. Only silence followed his words so he took it upon his self to continue talking, if only to end the silence he was feeling awkward in. "My parents enrolled me here two weeks ago when they saw the letter the school sent me. They've always been away from the house on business trips and they thought it a waste to keep on paying maids for only one person who was living there so they mostly enrolled me here for the school's dorm. That way, they wouldn't have to keep paying housemaids to take care of me. Taking care of a child is the parents' job, though..." His voice trailed off in a sad note. Suddenly, he doesn't feel like talking anymore so he just let the silence be.

Shin knew he struck a sour note when he heard the boy start getting quiet. "So what? Parents are dumb. I don't really know what a parent is supposed to be. I was a orphan. No parents. No family. It didn't bug me at all. Because I never knew what it was like. But I guess it is harder for you because you knew what it was to be loved by a parent once upon a then it was taken from you. But shouldn't that fuel your art? We are liberal art students. Doctors become doctors to save people. Teachers to teach. Liberal art students do what we do so we can show the world to people. So tell your story. The way you want it." Shin finished walking to the dinning room to the food line.

Kaoru was surprised by Shin's words - not by Shin's confession of being an orphan but by the words of encouragement offered to him by the roommate whom he thought was already starting to hate him. His face brightened feeling sorry for Shin being an orphan. The younger boy was supposed to say "Sorry" as a means of sympathizing with the other but instead he found his self smiling brightly, saying "Hm! You're right!" For the first time in his life, his smile was actually genuine and it felt absolutely great. "You're not so bad after all." He said before he could stop his self but he didn't mind as he looked at Shin with soft eyes, genuine smile still in place.

Shin looked back at the boy and then went back to his cold stone poker face and started getting himself some food and then a drink. He looked around the cafeteria and sat in a empty table in the corner. He looked at the boy that was to be his roommate and nodded to him so he know that yes. It was okay for him to sit with him. He looked at the food here and started to make a sour face. It was just the same food with little variety every day here. Nothing had changed really.

Kaoru was clueless on how the cafeteria works so, after his serene moment was broken by Shin's movement to grab food, he just dumbly followed the older boy around and got what his roommate got. His face fell a little when Shin went to a corner and left him in the middle of the buzzling crowd of students. Watching helplessly as his roommate sat down on the table in the corner,his face brightened as Shin nodded, indicating that it was fine for the younger boy to sit with him. He went to sit down in front of Shin, grinning like an idiot the whole time. 'He acts so cold but he's actually very nice... '

Shin looked at the boy in front of him and sighed eating a fry. He had a soft spot for the boy now. He didn't know how it happened but this boy had gotten under Shin's skin and not in a bad way or even a good way. He just couldn't bring himself to be mean or leave the boy alone. He didn't know why really. He looked over at the boy and saw that he had gotten some of his dinner on his face so Shin grabbed a napkin and started to lean over to wipe Kauro's cheek softly. "Messy eater."
