Key
There aren’t many things that could beat savoring a nice drink on the roof of a skyscraper, enjoying a spectacular view in a summer evening, of course, if you don’t fear heights. So, here is our pick of 10 best rooftop bars in Asia. 10. VIEW Rooftop Bar, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Situated on the 30th floor rooftop of the GTower in central Kuala Lumpur, VIEW Rooftop Bar, consisting of 3 spaces -the champagne room, the whisky lounge and the alfresco Absolut Bar-, offers a spectacular view of the Petronas Twin Towers and beyond. View Rooftop Bar’s customers are allowed to customize their own cocktails. 9. Rock Bar, Ayana Resort & Spa: Bali, Indonesia The Rock Bar is located along the 1.3 kilometer coastline of Ayana Resort and Spa Bali. As the bar is situated 14 meters above the crashing Indian Ocean at the base of Ayana Hotel, at high tide the waves crash just a few feet from guests’ feet. 8. Signature Restaurant, Chi Minh City, Vietnam Situated on the 23rd floor of Sheraton Saigon Hotel & Towers, Signature Restaurant overlooks the entire city, with breathtaking 360-degree views and features a wine bar and a nightclub with live, late night entertainment. Its menu offers Pan Asian and Western dishes with a focus on seafood. 7. Sugar, Hong Kong As many rooftop bars, Sugar bar is part of a hotel. Located on the 32nd floor of the East hotel, Sugar provides sweeping panoramic views of Hong Kong. If you fancy listening to house and electronic music while sinking into a squishy sofa and drinking a cocktail, you should definitely consider this stylish bar, longue and deck. 6. Char Private, Hotel Indigo: Shanghai, China Situated right above Char restaurant, on the top floor of Hotel Indigo Shanghai, CHAR Private provides a 270-degree view across downtown and the Huangpu river. CHAR Private features a lounge area, a bar, and two dining rooms. While you’re a customer At CHAP private, you can order anything from the menu of the CHAR restaurant and bar below. 5. KU DÉ TA, Marina Bay Sands: Singapore KU DÉ TA is placed on Marina Bay Sands, the only structure standing 200 meters high in its area, offering a 360-degree panoramic view of the city’s skyline and Singapore Strait. KU DÉ TA consists of a restaurant, a Sky Bar, a longue and a poolside terrace and serves a menu of Modern Asian cuisine. 4. Armani/Privé, Hong Kong Opened in August 2011, Armani/Privé (lounge club and rooftop terrace) is Giorgio Armani’s own exclusive nightspot. Armani/Privé consists of a lounge club with in-house DJ, and a rooftop terrace with electric skyscraper city views. Armani/Privé gives a bit of a different feeling compared to the majority of rooftops bars, which tend to be situated on top of the highest building in one area. The terrace isn’t on top of a really high building and it’s surrounded by skyscrapers, so I find it pretty interesting. 3. Two Rooms: Tokyo, Japan Suspended high above Tokyo’s Ao commercial complex, TWO ROOMS is made up of a bar, sophisticated dining rooms and a big stunning outdoor terrace with a view over the Aoyama district (one of Tokyo’s fashion districts). Two Rooms offers a mostly western style dining experience and the menu is a bit on the pricey side, but surely worth it. 2. Aer, Four Seasons Hotel: Mumbai, India Aer longue, Mumbai’s highest rooftop bar covers the entire roof of Four Seasons Hotel Mumbai (34th floor). The rooftop bar is open even during the monsoon season. They use windscreens and gazebos to seal off the bar from the downpour. The lounge is kept abuzz by a resident DJ who plays nightly sets of upbeat jazz, house and a unique twist on classic hits from the 80s and 90s. 1. Sirocco, Bangkok, Thailand Named one of the world’s top 10 restaurants with amazing views, Sirocco is located on top of the 63rd floor of The Dome at lebua, itself an impressive building consisting of various restaurants, bars, and lounges. Sirocco never fails to leave one mesmerized with a fabulous view of Bangkok and the Chao Phraya river. Besides the breathtaking view, another attraction Sirocco offers is the Sky Bar of cylindrical shape, which is continuously changing its color. Which would be your pick?
