Katsumi nodded and in turn laid his cheek on the top of Tai's head, closing his eyes. "Tai," he suddenly murmured, "why do you say that you like me so much?" He was feeling self-conscious again; he didn't feel that there was anything special about him. Takeru only said that he was attractive, and the neko wasn't sure if he had meant that in a positive way or not.

"Why I like you? I thought it was obvious...." murmured Tai softly, with a small smile on his face, his eyes sleepy, though his mind focused, "It's because you have a heart...you're loving, sweet, caring, compassionate...your personality is just....beautiful, that's really the only word that works...yes, your personality is beautiful...it's very hard to describe why I'm drawn to you, but that's the closest that I think that I'll be able to get as to "why"." said Tai gently.

The younger male's cheeks had flushed, becoming a dark red color. How am I supposed to respond to that? "O-oh..." he choked out lamely, his entire body heating with pleasure. No one had ever complimented him like that before. There were obvious signs of his happiness that he was unable to conceal; his tail waving back and forth in an upbeat way, and his ears which were straight up on his head. "Th-thanks..."

Tai looked up at him gently from his shoulder, and smiled lightly, snuggly cuddling up next to the younger male, enjoying the heat radiating off of him. Because he was so skinny, he didn't have much body heat either, and was constantly chilly. "I'm just saying the truth...there's no reason to thank me for it..."

He let out a soft, content sigh and wrapped his arms around Tai's arm. "It was a really nice thing to say though," he murmured. "It was the first time anyone's said something like that to me." He put his forehead against the side of Tai's head and nuzzled him gently, once again purring rather loudly. "I feel like I should say something like that to you, but I've never been very good at stuff like that." Disappointment in himself had become present in his voice.

"It's okay...you show your emotions in your own way." said Tai softly, laying a hand lightly on top of the whitette's beginning to ease into a relaxed stage where he wasn't looking as sickly as he did outside, instead, he looked calmer, though his eyes were sinfully dark due to their lulling, and a small tinge of amber gleamed in his eyes.

Katsumi tightened his grip on Tai's arm, trying to work up the nerve to ask something. He squeezed his eyes shut and bit his lip. I can do this...it's normal for people in relationships to do this right? Again he blushed, thinking about the fact that he and Tai could be considered a couple now. I have a boyfriend... He could have giggled if he wasn't so shy. "Um, Tai? C-can I ask you something?"

"Yes, what is it, Kat-kun?" asked Tai gently, slightly tilting his head to the side in question, realizing that there was a sudden grip on his arm. I hope I didn't scare him...oh boy...that would be a bit upsetting if I displeased him again...I wouldn't know what to do...Tai grinned gently at the younger male, trying to give him more courage to ask what he wanted to.

The whitette opened his eyes and turned his head to face Tai. He swallowed nervously, feeling his body start to tremble slightly. "Um...c-can I..." He averted his blue eyes and bit down harder on his lip. "Can I...kiss you?"

Tai's chestnut eyes held an atmosphere of mellow and relaxed, listening to what the younger whitette was asking, though it took him almost two minutes to actually process it through his mind as to what he had actually said, and then once it actually went through his mind, a pink flush spread across his cheeks, softly, he responded, "Yes....you may."

Katsumi had taken his long pause as a sign of reluctance and his eyes were wide. "N-no, you don't have to if you don't want to...I'm sorry for asking..." His voice dropped and he looked away, embarrassment and barely contained sadness in his eyes. I shouldn't have asked...

Tai tilted his head softly, a small frown painting his face, lightly, he leaned over and lightly kissed the whitette's cheek, before tenderly saying, "I never said I didn't want to...I mean, if you don't want to, then we don't have to..." Jeez, he has more guts than I do. I would have probably waited who knows how long before mentioning a kiss because of how nervous I'd be to ask.

The neko put a hand on his cheek, feeling the heat radiating from his face. "I...I want to..." He lifted his head to look at Tai, his blue eyes unsure. "But...a real kiss..." He sighed and put his hand in his lap, shaking his head. "I feel selfish asking..." he whispered.

"It's fine..." soothed Tai gently, leaning forward a bit, though not to kiss him, but instead to hug the younger male closely, a bit weary and tired, "Maybe we should wait a little longer...so that it can be something special..."

Katsumi felt his eyes begin to water. He closed his eyes and clung to Tai, sniffing quietly. "I've never been good with other people," he whimpered. "I'm going to be a horrible partner." The whitette felt his anxiety returning and worried that he was going to revert back to his depressed self from before. I never told Tai about that...another reason why I can never be with anyone.

"And why might you say that?" asked Tai softly, lightly stroking the whitette's cheek with the back of his hand. Lovingly, he rubbed the neko's back, trying to comfort the young male.

The petit male let out a little hiccup, trying to keep his tears in. "I just...I can't..." He felt a sudden heaviness settle in his chest. He suddenly pulled away, close to hyperventilating. It was like the room was getting hotter. He covered his face with his arm, shaking. "I'm so sorry," he whispered. "I'm a mess. Soon you'll get sick of dealing with me and my depression and my anxiety and you'll leave..."

Tai's eyes softened, becoming more of a rich chestnut hue, mixed with the amber glaze that subtly laid hidden in the bottom of his eyes, gently, he placed a firm hand on the whitette's shoulder, "I know how you feel...I didn't go through exactly what you did...but I have anxiety and post traumatic stress disorder...which is why my mood tends to vary during the days...those sad tendencies that happen randomly during the day...it's because of my post traumatic stress...and no one was there for me when it happened...and that's why I don't trust people...because people usually don't care..." Softly, he said, "And I know that you need someone...and I know you need a friend....for every time you slip up or make a mistake...I'll be there for you...I already told you that I'd be your's if you'd have me...I just want to make you happy...I just want you to be okay...I want to stay with you...I want to be by your side...because at this point, you're all that matters to me..."

A few stray tears trickled down his cheeks. He buried his face in Tai's shoulder. "I don't want to be a burden...but I want to be with you too. I don't think I care about anyone more than you...except maybe my mom." He laughed flatly, giving a tiny smile. He didn't let go of Tai and seemed to sink into him. "I really like you Tai...more than I thought."

A warm cherry blush painted the beige colored cheeks of the older teen, and tenderly, not knowing what to say, kissed the top of the pale-head boy's head, and then rested his cheek on top of the boy's head, stroking his back lovingly, an eased sigh slithering out of his mouth.

"Thank you Tai," Katsumi said softly, looking up at him with a genuine smile on his face, the dried tears on his cheeks shimmering. "You always know what to say to make me feel better. I wish I could do the same for you." He breathed in his scent and and pressed his nose to Tai's neck.

Tai just decided to grin softly, not knowing what to say again. Tai was one to think of everything, though not know really how to explain what he was feeling or what to say, and putting the effort into it was boring, and it was a drag. His creamy chestnut eyes closed, and he decided on just trying to savor the moment.

Katsumi closed his eyes and his body went slightly limp, relaxing. He laid his tail in Tai's lap, his ears against Tai's chin. He was leaning against him, trying to be as close as possible. He was content with the fact that he finally had someone who wouldn't leave him. Tai had accepted him despite his problems, and the neko knew that he would accept Tai as well. He really did care about him.

Tai was at ease, and was about half asleep, though sleeping up definitely would not due. Gently, he asked, "May we lay down? And try to get back to sleep again?" His question was delicate, as if her were fearing of rejection, though it was mainly because he was so tired that his voice was really lacking in it's firmness.

"Sure," he said softly, slowly pulling away and standing up. He had Tai's hand in his and he was still smiling. His trust in Tai had grown, which eased his anxiety and lifted most of the heaviness in his heart. He stayed close to him and yawned quietly.
