Tai smiled thinly at this, a small chuckle buried deep in his throat. Chestnut eyes were soft, pain hidden behind the momentary happiness that washed over him whenever Katsumi was around. I love you...everything about you.

Letting out a quiet sigh the whitette leaned back against the couch, relaxing. He kept his arms tightly in place around Tai and used one of his hands to pet Tai's arm, the other staying at his side. After a minute of staring at the ceiling his eyes closed. He liked when it was quiet.

Tai closed his eyes as well, relaxing to the steady brushes of the whitette's hand on his arm, enjoying the silence and the time to focus to it's fullest.

Not wanting to accidentally fall asleep, Katsumi busied himself with various thoughts. He found himself worrying over school work, wondering what had upset Tai earlier, and trying once again to think of ways to help his mother feel less stressed. As he thought, he felt that familiar sense of 'doom-and-gloom' wash over him, so he quickly pushed aside all of the concerning thoughts and instead focused his attention again on the older teen laying in his lap.

The older teen seemed content, his pale pink lips motionless, and really held no emotion, and if it were, they were mixed ones at the least. Eyes shut blissfully, as if he were an angel almost as he slept.

All of a sudden an alarm went off, shattering the gentle peace. Katsumi sat up abruptly, careful not to knock Tai over, and looked around with wide eyes. His ears went down and he cringed in pain. "Ah, I-I think my mom left something on in the kitchen..."

Tai shot up quickly, the loud noise even hurting his ears, and he was just merely a human. With a quiet groan, the older male asked, "Where would the alarm be? And where is your kitchen?" Tai was fine with fixing things up, not really scared to, well, except for the fact that he had asthma, but it never really acted up.

Swallowing uneasily, the petite neko stood up shakily and led the way towards the small kitchen, his hands over his ears. "It's, um, over here...she may have turned the stove on without meaning to when she got home; you know, since she was so tired, and the smoke alarm went off or something."

Nodding quickly, Tai went into the kitchen, looking around before finding the ovenmits and placing them over his hands, turning off the oven, and opened the over to see what was inside.

Inside of the oven there was a burned, blackened lump that was unable to be distinguished. Bits of what seemed to be charred paper floated out of the opening along with the intense heat. Katsumi frowned upon seeing this and wondered what it was.

A soft sigh slipped through his lips before he took it out of the oven and said softly, "Can you open a window? It's going to have to cool before it cools down..." Tai sighed softly, took the gloves off, and tapped at the alarm until it went silent.

The rather surprised whitette nodded and slipped behind Tai in order to reach the window, standing up on his toes so he could reach the latch. He tugged on the metal bar and yanked the window open, shivering as he was hit by a cool breeze.

Tai sighed softly; this really wasn't what he was expecting of his day with his lover, but that was okay. Chestnut eyes were warm as he quietly walked over towards the whitette, wrapping his arms firmly around him in an affectionate hug.

Katsumi squeaked, as the sudden touch had startled him, but he quickly relaxed in Tai's arms. A smile lit his face and his blue eyes brightened. He lifted his head to peek up at the older male and said, "I'm sorry if that scared you." It freaked me out.

Tai instantly released his arms from the whitette, his arms instantly dropping to his side, because he could sense the fear that was there when Katsumi flinched, and he instantly felt guilty, he quietly said, "Sorry...." His eyes were locked on his feet, not making eye contact with the blue-eyed beauty.

{Just in case there was any misunderstand, he meant that the alarm freaked him out, not the hug ^^}

((Tai thought that Kat-sumi was scared of him, and thought that the flinch was because of the fact that he hugged him ^-^))

The neko frowned and turned around to look at Tai questioningly. "It's fine. I was just surprised, that's all." He smiled reassuringly and moved closer to him. "Really, it's okay. I like it when you hug me."

"Okay." murmured Tai tenderly, not questioning anything, because he didn't want to, he wanted to feel safe with what the whitette said. The older male drew his arms back around the younger male and hugged him close to his chest, resting his head on the top of his lover's head.

Katsumi buried his face in the other's chest and closed his eyes, his hands resting on the sides of his face, his fingers lightly curled into Tai's shirt. "You smell nice," he murmured, his tail curling up in pleasure.

Tai smiled gently at the compliment, his chestnut eyes melting to a soft color. "Thank you, you as well." The beige colored male grasped the younger male hands between their bodies, holding one of his hands with his own, intertwining their fingers.

The whitette smiled up at him with gentle blue eyes, their color a darker blue than usual in the lighting. "Did you know that you can't smell yourself?" he said, always having found this interesting. "I tried to and it didn't work."

"Hmm? Is that so?" questioned Tai jokingly, "That's actually pretty cool." Lightly, he set a gentle kiss on his lover's head before continuing their hug.

Katsumi giggled softly and kissed him back on the cheek, once again needing to stand on his toes. "I thought so too, but my mom laughed. She thought it was funny!" He laid his head on his chest again.

"Your mother's a nice woman." stated the older male gently, just becoming aware of the fact that they were still in the kitchen, "Hm...should we go somewhere else? Maybe the living room? Standing in the kitchen is rather odd." It came out as a short chuckle.
