"Hahahahahahahaha!!! Well you first looked stupid to me." Natsuki teased. And I know, you understand the principle of being a detective itself... Help those in need... He said to his mind.

 

"Come with me. We are going to the director's office. I'm going to ask my father to make you a scholar of this school. Ummm.. He's like very of fond of me that's why he does everything I want. I think you are deserving as well to enroll to this school." Natsuki beamed a smile at Taiga.

 

Both men stepped outside the room and many other students looked at them with confused and curious eyes. Suddenly a short boy appeared in front of them, "Natsu-chann~~~~!!!! Where are you going? Who is this boy?" He asked with twinkling cute eyes. From his orange hair and blue eyes, you could tell that he is a half blooded foreigner.

 

Tsssskkkk... What's up with you now?? Natsuki's aura became different. Cold even. "What do you want Riku? I have no time with your qualms."

 

"Awwwwhhhh.. Don't say that, we have been friends ever since we were children, Natsu-chan!!! You even smile a lot back then. Only when your mom died that you lost your smile." Riku talked a lot. His mouth can't be stopped, that's why Natsuki is often irritated of him.

 

Natsuki looked dark at the words of Riku. He suddenly aimed a punch at the other man. But he let his fist on the wall just passing the cheek of Riku. Riku dropped a sweat as Natsuki removed his hand from the wall which was cracked a little. "Shut your freaking mouth will you?" Natsuki glared at him.

 

Just then another man appeared. His eyes look like he has an authority in the school as a student. In fact, he has an arm band on his right. "Come on Natsuki, Riku is just asking a simple question. Don't be hard on him okay?"

 

"Kato..." Natsuki whispered. He then lowered his arm. "Don't bother me... Come Taiga, let's go." Natsuki pulled the hand of Taiga as they walked away from Riku and Kato, and some other students who were curiously watching them.

Taiga follow Natsuki to director's office and so on Natsuki'' why was you so hard on Riku? I know he didn't meant to hurt your feelings for what he said''

Natsuki's footsteps stopped. He did not look at Taiga but just said in a low voice, "Please mind your own business and don't dig into others' past." He said this as he hold on tighter on the hand on Taiga.

 

I've got a life of my own. Please stop bothering me. The smile of Natsuki's mother flashed to his mind as the voice of Taiga reminded him of his mother's gentle voice. Still, they continued on walking towards the director. The right hand of Natsuki pulling Taiga's hand around. Tugging him even as the other student's look them.

 

"We are here." Natsuki finally said.

 

He knocked on the big wooden door. At the top, a sign could be seen: "DIRECTOR BALBAD". Both entered, as the door automatically closed behind them. Inside was a spacious room. There was a set of sofa at the front covered with black leather. Paintings could be seen as well as shelves of books. On the left side, was a fire place. Looking directly was a large table made of wood. A chair facing backward was squeaking. There's a person is seating behind that chair.

 

"Dad." Natsuki finally said. "I want you to enroll this boy into this school. His name is Taiga Himaru." His voice was stern, showing full dedication. It sounded like a command even.

 

The large chair turned around. "Natsu~~~~!!!!" His father cried running with open arms toward his son who just dodged him. The old man crashed unto the door instead.

 

"Dad, my request please." Nastuki again said.

 

"Ehhhh????" his dad said. Natsuki looked at his dad with knotted eyes as if saying what he said again. Director Balbad looked at Taiga, assessing him. He then stood and stretched his clothes. "Boy, why do you want to enroll to this school? Do you want to be a detective somehow?"

Taiga smiled" yes i want to be detective and the other reason is at i have not home anymore, i lost my parents two years ago in accident, so Please let me enroll in this school Mr. Balbad"

Director Balbad got closer to Taiga, looking at him intently. He was rubbing his chin with his right hand. "Hmmmmm....." He mumbled under his breath. He then looked at Natsuki, who in turn looked back at his father with dedicated eyes.

 

"I think he is a promising person dad. Also, he got no where to live. He should be a scholar of this school. Besides, I think he has the qualities of a good detective." Natsuki's eyes looked directly to his father without any doubt. It could be clearly seen that he's determined to get Taiga into this school. He was standing beside Taiga. A gesture showing his support to the enrolling student.

 

Director Balbad let out a sigh and smiled at both of Natsuki and Taiga. "Well, this is the first time that my independent son would ask a favor to me, why should I refuse if I know how high the standards of my son are. You, boy," pointing at Taiga, "is now a certified student of this detective school."

 

He then placed his hand over the shoulder of Natsuki, "Son, because it's you who recommended him, he's your responsibility."

 

Natsuki smiled and nodded to his father. No other further words need to be spoken. It's true. This is only the one time he would ask a favor of his father. Ever since his mother died, he relied on his own skills and perseverance to study and take care of himself.

The door of the director closed as Natsuki and Taiga left the office. It was already 6:00 p.m. after having interviews and simple conversation with the director. Both of them are tired from the energetic character of the director. The sun could be already seen setting from the window just in front of the door of the director's office. The students are already few, some are resting on their own rooms and the others are downstairs conversing with others.

 

"Your first day at school starts tomorrow. I guess you should rest early." Natsuki said to Taiga as he headed to their room. Well, it would already be the room of Taiga and Natsuki. As a consequence of Natsuki's recommendation to his dad, he shall take responsibility of all the actions of Taiga, including the latter's needs. "Let's go to OUR room." Natsuki said his back to Taiga.

Taiga smiled" I'm really happy at your dad let me enroll in this school and have i been sendt out in gate again, so whould i have died, So I'm very thankfully to you and your dad and one more thing" he said bowed his head down before Natsuki" thank you for save me and Get me in this school"

Yes. Natsuki does not smile very much, but there's something with Taiga that makes him so. His face maybe? Or his aura, an aura that's like his mother? I've felt this before, an aura that is comforting. A very beautiful ambiance.

 

"Hmmmppp..." Natsuki only said with a small lift from the corners of his lips while walking towards their room with Taiga following at his back with a cheerful expression.

 

"Sir, here is the uniform and some necessities for Sir Taiga. It's been delivered immediately as what you had requested a while ago in the Office of the Director." A man in butler's suit appeared near the door of the room of Natsuki and Taiga. His features was old but one could see that this butler is very experienced in his field. Also a very loyal servant.

 

"Tanaka, thank you." Natsuki smiled. A very rare smile indeed. In this world only a few makes him laugh, smile and change his expression. One of such is Tanaka; the butler of the Balbad family who took care of him since he was a child. Even after Natsuki's mother died, Tanaka was there to give the motherless child some support and care. He did not quit or give up being a butler even if Natsuki showed his worst behavior and was nearing a rebellious stage because of losing his mom. Tanaka has a very long patience towards Natsuki then. Never did he abandon the child. Growing up under his care, for Natsuki, Tanaka is like an irreplaceable member of his family.

 

Natsuki took the clothes from Tanaka. Upon entering the door, he said to Tanaka, "You could rest now. It's been a busy day." Natsuki again flashed a smile. Tanaka is old but he still serves the Balbad family with good reverence.

 

"Yes sir. Have a nice evening. If you have any other request, please do call me. I would be just in the mansion" Tanaka bowed to Natsuki as he left the corridor.

 

The Balbad mansion is actually just a few blocks away near the detective school, as such, many students even see Tanaka around. Often, they even greet Tanaka and befriend because of his tenacity, good humor, and wisdom from his experiences of his years of living. Basically, the students see him as a very friendly old person. Not to mention, the butler of the Director's family as well as the son of such director who is currently at the top of the school.

Inside the room, Natsuki lies flat on his bed. He wants nothing more than to sleep. Well it is practically his hobby. He already showed to Taiga the bed given to the other and some other instructions inside their room for their own private time. After a few years, this is again the first time he truly relaxed. He closed his eyes as he drifted to sleep.

Taiga smiled and walked towards his bed, he la himself down on the bed and start to sleep and start to dream about his parents

It was midnight when suddenly Natsuki heard some sobs. What the??? He opened his eyes slowly. It was dark but the moon lights the room dimly from the window. Some stars were also helping to light even though a little.

 

Natsuki got out of his bed pushing away his blanket. He's half naked. And he prefers to sleep that way. No shirt, only bottom pajamas. It's more comfortable for him. He sits on the bed holding his head though his palm. Arrrrgggghhhh.... First time that he was awaken at this time of the night because in the past it has always been only him who is sleeping in his dorm room. No other dorm mates would want to sleep in the same room as him because of his introvert personality. But an exception to that would be Riku; good thing his dorm mate is already Kato. There is no need to change room mates.

 

Now, he knows that the cause is Taiga. Bullshit. Natsuki has always a bad temper when people wake him from sleeping. He got up from his bed and crossed the room. He was about to wake Taiga up when he was startled by his crying face.

 

Time stopped as he looked at Taiga. He sat on the bed. He does not know what to do now, comfort him? wake him? But one thing is for sure, Taiga got the sympathy of Natsuki. Natsuki had sad experiences in the past, he does not want to see suffering people at the most.

 

"Mother?? Father??" Taiga whispered between his sobs. His pillow already wet because of the tears. His whole body is shivering too.

 

Ah, yes, he lost both his parents right? Natsuki said to himself.

 

Taiga kept on crying softly. Natsuki then touched his forehead. "Shhhh.. It's alright now. It's okay." He leaned on closely to Taiga to wipe his tears.

Taiga wake up when Natsuki took away his tears, he so on Natsuki with sleepy eyes'' Natsuki why are awake? did I wake you up?''

Natsuki was taken aback when Taiga opened his eyes. "No, nothing. Go back to sleep." He answered.

 

He removed his hand from the face of Taiga then turned away. When he stood up, his lean muscles shone through the night. Although he was always lazing around, his body is quite well tuned. A rare sight for Taiga.

 

"I need to out for a little bit." Natsuki went to his drawer. He put on some black sleeveless shirt and also pulled out a jersey jacket. "You could go back to your sleep." He again said as he headed for the door.

Natsuki walked silently outside the corridor. It was silent. Surely, all the students are sleeping; all that Natsuki are his own footsteps. He reached the door leading outside the dorm. He opened it. The breeze was cool and not so cold. Ahhhh... nice weather outside.

 

He continued to walked outside and found a bench nearby. It was under a shade of a tree. The scenery was surrounded by grass. One one side, an elevated patch for flowers was seen. He sat on the bench and ruffled his hair. He did not know why he left Taiga. I could have just told him the truth that he was crying. Taiga thought to himself.

 

Maybe... maybe if I did not wake him up. Then what could I have done next? Thump... Thump... Natsuki was surprised. He held his chest. What the? He asked himself. W-well... Taiga has also some cute features and he is interesting too. Natsuki smiled.

 

It has been a long time that someone has caught the attention of Natsuki. Yes. He met a little boy in the past just like Taiga now.

 

It was only nine months after his mother died. That time, Natsuki was so shocked and depressed because of the loss of his mother. He was only ten years old and he showed signs of being rebellious. He was practically the black sheep of the family. Even though his family is rich, he could not help that the cause of the death of his mother is his dad. His dad never looked at them. Even when his mother was dying, he did not even care to visit her because of work. Maybe that would explain that after the death of his mother, Natsuki's dad gave more attention to him. Always giving him gifts, visiting him and asking him about his activities during the day. This was however too late for Natsuki became introvert and selfish. He does not want to talk to anyone and would just want to be on his own.

 

It was that time that he met a certain boy younger than him. He was sleeping on a shade near a park. Suddenly a boy stumbled on him.

 

"You!!! What do you think you're doing freak??!! You woke me up!! Bastard!!!" Natsuki shouted to the other boy. He was about to punch the other boy but he did not cover his face, nor hide to a certain place. He just looked at Natsuki.

 

Natsuki stopped because of that, he's weirded out by the boy. Suddenly, the boy hugged him.

 

"Wh-What are you doing?" Natsuki asked.

 

"Don't be sad." The other boy said still embracing Natsuki, who was also shocked. It was that time that Natsuki realized that the other boy could see through him. And such boy has the guts not be scared of him and scamper away. Instead he hugs him. "Instead of being rebellious and doing bad things that make others worry, why don't you do things which could help others especially those in need." The boy said to Natsuki.

 

Surprisingly, the boy kissed the forehead of Natsuki making him blush. "There, a kiss to make you feel better." The other boy said smiling. "Like what i did to you, if you know that the others are in need, help them okay?"

 

Natsuki was still blushing. He thought that what the other boy had said was correct. To help others huh... I guess mother would want me to do that too. She was so kind and beautiful. A woman who would readily help other people out. She dreamed of being a detective one day that is why Natsuki enrolled to this detective school.

 

"Ye-Yes.." Natsuki said to the other boy.

 

"Hai!!! Do your best okay?" The other boy said as he squeezed Natsuki's hand. His hand was warm and smaller than Natsuki. Trying the cover both the hands of Natsuki even though it was small. He then waived goodbye to Natsuki. The flowers of the afternoon falling and the sun shining through that small boy who left him with a smiling face lingered Natsuki.

 

After that Natsuki started to study more to become a detective. Whenever there would be others in need, he would help. However, he still kept his introvert and cool personality. He is silent and cool.

 

"Why am I remembering that now?" The present Natsuki said to himself as he lay on the bench feeling the coolness around him. Help those in need huh? Natsuki enjoyed the moon staring down at him with the stars. He then drifted to sleep.

Taiga wake up later and didn't see Natsuki any ware, he got worried and walked out of the room, he walked towards a door so stand open, he walked out and so Natsuki la on bench in the garden, he walked downstairs, walked towards Natsuki and smiled'' wake up Natsuki, you cant sleep here, you are going to be sick'' he said

Natsuki was sleeping soundly when he felt that someone was pushing. Urggghhhh... Such a bother. Natsuki still does not want to open his eyes. He just wanted to sleep. I don't want anyone waking me. Leave me alone. He said to himself.

 

Dream??? Yes. This is a dream. This 'someone' touching him is warm and comfortable. Without opening his eyes. He reached out for this someone and embraced him tightly. I want more. More of this person. So warm and smells nice. He embraced this someone closely that he could feel everything about this 'someone'.

 

Kiss... I want to taste this person. I want to kiss you. Still closing his eyes, Natsuki brushed his own lips first to the cheek of this 'someone'. Finding its way to the lips. Natsuki felt this 'someone' stiffen. Hahahahahaha... Cute..... Lips so soft and tastes delicious. He pushed inside and twirled around the tongue of this 'someone'. I want to tease you more.

Taiga couldnt belive it, Natsuki kissed him and this was his first kiss, he took his mouth from Natsuki's mouth and slapped Natsuki

Pain stung at the cheek of Natsuki. It was like a bat was swayed on his cheek. Although it was painful, he did not wake up with full eyed alertness. As included in the study of being a detective, he had been training his body for combat. This slap on the face is nothing compared to his trainings.

 

He slowly opened his eyes and saw the face of Taiga, who was shocked. Hahahahahahaha.... Maybe he's the one I was hugging a while back. Heehhh!! Ohh... and I kissed him. Natsuki gave a smirk to Taiga. "Ohhhh.. How are you doing Taiga?"

 

When he saw that Taiga is still in shock, Natsuki suddenly pulled Taiga to him on his chest, "Was that you're first kiss huh? You're soooo lucky that your first kiss is me naahh??" Natsuki started to laugh while he whispered those words to Taiga's ear.

Taiga glared at Natsuki and pushed Natsuki away and start to run away but taurn around and so on Natsuki" i hate you, how Dare you steal my first kiss, i Should just be Nice to wake you up, so you dont Get any cold but i shall never do that again, next time i see you sleep here, i shall not wake you up, so for you just be sick, you bastard" he said taurn around and continue run towards his room

When Taiga said those words as he run away, Natsuki just kept on smiling. I've never thought that he is fun to tease like this. He's sooooo cute. Natsuki said to himself.

 

Suddenly, Natsuki got up and held his mouth with his right hand. Did I just say cute? "Hahahahahahaha!!! No way..." But well he is kinda cute, right? Natsuki's eyes widened. "The Hell??!!" He's now in a battle within himself. Never in his life that he became interested physically, mentally and emotionally to a certain person.

 

"Hahahahahaha!!!" He started to laugh by himself. "Taiga, since you came just yesterday. I'm getting confused because of you..." Natsuki said to himself as if talking to Taiga.

 

"Let's see what would happen." He smiled as he rose up and get ready for school.

Walking towards the classroom with two books on his right hand hanging over his shoulder, a tap on the left shoulder got the attention of Natsuki. "Good morning Natsuki," a girl wearing a short skirt said to Natsuki. She has dark brown eyes and black hair hanging to her waste. She looked Natsuki with some expectancy with obviously blinking cute eyes.

 

Natsuki just looked at her and continued to walk. "Hey!!!" The girl now went after Natsuki, "I'm talking to you!!!" She now pulled the shirt of Natsuki.

 

Sigh. "What do you want Ari? I don't have any business with you." Natsuki said as he turned to her with a bored expression.

 

"Ehhh??? As your fiancee, I want to have a private time with you tonight." Ari said happily. Her eyes are twinkling.

 

"Our families have decided that. I have no concerns with you." Natsuki said, quite annoyed. "I'll go now to my classes. You better go to your own class too."

 

Natsuki started to walk but Ari again tugged his shirt. "We don't have classes tomorrow. I'll see you at the dining restaurant two blocks from this school." Ari smiled her ever mischievous smile and walked away.

 

Natsuki again sighed. Not that he could do anything about it. It is true that her whole family chose Ari to become his wife for the future. Well, Ari's family is quite famous and rich like theirs so it is just natural for the two families to get their children to marry each other. Although Natsuki does not talk too much, he does what his family asks of him. He does not want to run away from his responsibilities unlike what his father did to his mother. What can I do??? He thus, noted himself to go the prospected dinner with Ari.

 

Natsuki entered his classroom as the bell rang. The first period is Matsumoto sensei's class.

Taiga was in Matsumoto sensei's class and this was his first time to, He really look forward to this time very much, he sat on chair beside the table and so Natsuki coming, he ignorer Natsuki and didn't so on Natsuki at all, He really didn't like Natsuki very mush now after what happened yesterday night, just think about give him freezing and he didn't sleep much because of that, so he was very tired

The classroom was a little noisy but when Taiga came in, it became silent. The whole class looked at Natsuki. It is rare that he goes to classroom, even so, he's still on top of the class. This is by his own effort and not through the influence of his father. Everybody knows that Natsuki has a strong aura surrounding him.

 

Natsuki sat on his seat and lifted his feet on the table. He just closed his eyes and waited for the Matsumoto-sensei to come. Then, Natsuki noticed that Taiga sat beside him in the classroom. Natsuki remembered how he acted this morning, it just makes him smile a little especially that he could sense that Taiga does not talk to him.

 

He decided to tease Taiga a little more, "Hmmmm??? I think you should be more appreciative of me Taiga. Remember that I got you in this school. Without my help, you would be a living dead right now." Natsuki gave a smirk as he looked at Taiga. His head resting on his hand.

Taiga glared on Natsuki and said in angry voice'' I don't care anymore, Just don't talk to me for rest of today, I have still not forgive you for yesterday''

As expected, the reaction of Taiga is one that he thought of. Natsuki just gave a smirk and looked away.

Matsumoto-sensei entered the class. His eyeglasses are as sharp as ever. As if his eyes could look into your soul. Every student respects him for he is quite scary. An exemption to that is Natsuki. When Natsuki was only a child, Matusmoto sensei had tutored him in his house. For that, Natsuki became accustomed of him and sometimes even disobeys him. Even through the years of teaching one on one, Natsuki is still not close to Matsumoto-sensei. In fact, he sees Matsumoto-sensei as only an ordinary tutor who only wanted to be paid large amounts of money.

 

As Matsumoto-sensei scanned the room, he saw a new face, Taiga. He was about to ask the name of that new student of his but his eyes became more focused to the seat mate of Taiga, Natsuki. "Oh, Natsuki, it's quite rare that you go to classes." He announced to the whole classroom as all the students turned to Natsuki.

 

"Huuuuhhhh.... If you're that surprised sensei, then I could go out of the classroom if that is what you want." An arrogant answer came from the mouth of Natsuki. He looked directly at Matsumoto-sensei without unfaltering eyes.

 

"Hmmmmpppptttt.." Matsumoto sensei just let out a sound. Quite clearly, he is annoyed at Natsuki.

 

"Sensei!!!" A red haired girl raised her hand and stood up, "We have a new student here. I think it is just right to introduce him to the whole class." The girl said as if trying to relief the tension.

 

"Ahh.. Yes yes. Thank you for that Yuuko. You are really a very responsible and dependable student... unlike others..." Matsumoto again looked at Natsuki, as if giving him a glare.

 

Yuuko is the class representative. She is very energetic and talented. She also ranks up to third place in the honors in the batch. While Natsuki is the first; and Kato is the second; Yuuko is the third. Once in the past she confessed her feelings to Natsuki but was dumped by the later. Of course, Natsuki has been confessed to by many girls but all of them he dumped. No body could get his interest. While everybody knows that Natsuki is already engaged with Ari, they also know that Natsuki is only being forced by his family to be together with Ari, as such many still have the courage to confess to him. Still, even after being dumped, Yuuko still likes Natsuki and sometimes try to do things for him like this case.

 

"Okay!!" Matsumoto finally said. "Mind introducing yourself to the whole class?" He looked at Taiga.

Taiga raise himself up from the seat, walked towards Matsumoto-sensei and stand beside Matsumoto-sensei and so on everyone'' hello my name is Taiga and this is my first time at Detective school and I hope we can become friends'' he said and smiled

The whole class greeted Taiga as a form of courtesy. This has been the polite tradition every time the class gets a new student. Natsuki just looked at Taiga, smiling with amusement.

 

Matsumoto-sensei then said to Taiga, “I bet you saw a while a ago the girl who stood up a while ago is Yuuko. She is the class representative. So if you have any questions, feel free to approach her and she'll help you out."

 

Yuuko looked at Taiga bowing her head with a confident and friendly smile.

 

"Class, be nice to him okay?" Matsumoto sensei looked the students.

 

"Yes~~~" the whole class said in chorus.

 

"You could go back to your chosen seat now Taiga," Matsumoto said to Taiga. His eyes are as sharp as ever. His facial expression full of authority emitting a strict aura.

The bell rang for lunch. Like normal students, the class immediately got out of their seats to rush to the canteen. Everybody is as lively as ever. Shouts were everywhere as well as giggles.

 

As usual, Natsuki was awaken by the ringing of the bell. He again slept during class and the other teachers could not do anything about it. His grades need not to be improved and he is the son of the chairman. They are scared of scolding Natsuki. Well, except for his long time teacher Matsumoto who is so strict. Because of that, he was awake, while a little sleepy during the class of Matsumoto but slept to the other subjects of other instructors.

 

Natsuki yawned and stretched his arms upward from being numbed cushioning his head while sleeping. He started to walk towards the door to where his butler, Tanaka, is waiting.

 

"It's lunchtime young master. The usual meal?" Tanaka addressed to Natsuki with a smile. The creases of his face showing old age.

 

"Yes. Thanks Tanaka." Natsuki smiled back. Obviously, Natsuki likes Tanaka who took care of him since he was young even when her mother died.

 

Natsuki looked back to Taiga, "Hey!!!" He said with a commanding voice, "Have lunch with me." It was not a request but a demand.
