Madara turned to look back over his shoulder at the man, some of his long hair falling back as he did so. Hashirama looked all the proud, sorrowful person he was, sitting atop that rock. The Uchiha's shoulders lowered slightly and he stood up a little straighter, turning half towards the man. "Of course we're not," He called back in reply, his voice taking on the slightest of melancholy tones, hidden behind a serious facade. "A lot has changed since then, Hashirama."

Hashirama's lifted his chin and looked up at him, a curl twisted around the corner of his lips 'your expression is priceless Madara, such a cute grumpy face' he muttered half mockingly at the Uchiha while pointing at him. It was his own way of lighten up the mood which congealed into a heavy aura 'Despite that we have responsibilities as adults, there are other things that we were not aware off when were are young, we didn't understand them' there was a deep-seated wish he wished to tell him, but he didn't know how to convey.

Madara's eyes widened and he turned half away, crossing his arms over his chest. "Shut it Hashirama, I am not cute." He muttered, glaring at the Hokage out of the corner of his eye. He watched him as he spoke, his dark eyes searching his friends face. "...of course there are, we were just kids. Mature kids at that...but still children." He tilted his head a little to the side, shifting his shoulder blades slightly. "Just...what are you on about?"

Hashirama sighed dropping his head, his long brown bangs falling down his face ''never mind' he said dismissively. He picked a stone. He played it with between his thumb and forefinger and then threw it, with ease, he slides it over the water before it reached to its destination.

Madara blinked twice, and turned to look at the pebble which had so easliy flicked across to the other side of the bank. He gave a scowl and reached down to pick one up himself, taking a step back, staring straight at Hashirama as he pulled his arm across his body, and let fly. After a single skip, it too landed safely on the other side. "Don't just say somethin' like that and drop it," he tilted his head to the side pointedly. "What did you mean?"

Hashirama watched him throwing the pebble as it skidded over the water and it reached its destination as well 'wow you are really getting good at stone skipping' he remarked. He than stood up, sighing softly at Madara's words. Thinking of the feelings that had been locked up inside his heart for such a long time. He gingerly grabbed Madara's wrist and tugged him, to make the raven look at him 'How much do I mean to you? Madara'

Madara was about to reply to him, with some sort of sarcastic pride, when the man spoke. He turned, his brow furrowed inquisitively as he lay his eyes on the man. "What do you mean?" He asked, shaking his head as he spun and began to walk back towards the rock. "You are the Hokage, you mean a lot to me. To the village, to...peace." The Uchiha murmured almost reluctantly, before he placed a hand on his hip, scratching the back of his neck with a deep breath. "But...you're- you are a person I know the power of, Hashirama; you are...an equal, I guess. You were...the first person to understand my thoughts, and yeah, you...you're my friend, Hashirama, I care."

'I know that but it's not exactly..' Hashirama cutoff his words and turned sharply towards Madara, facing him one to one 'Do you remember that time when we were talking about girls, and you know how we are, we get very competitive, and I was teasing you that you'd never have the courage to make the first move and than you grabbed my hand and kissed me, to show me that you can do it' this time he looked down at the ground fidgeting with his fingers. He remembered it well his lips shockingly touched his. That moment had bothered him for a long time, it was a bizarre incident that he couldn't just brush off, what had started as a childish game had lead somewhere along the lines between the friendship and rivalry to some other deep-seated fuzzy feelings that made him feel confused.

The Uchiha's eyes widened in shock and he stood up straighter almost sharply, the very slightest of red tints coming to his cheeks. He slid half to the side, turning his eyes away from Hashirama, thankful he was looking away. Of course he remembered that. How could he not? It had just been this spur of the moment action, not at all expected even from him. He hadn't thought; but then...then he had just kept thinking about it. The dark haired male cleared his throat, banishing his blush from his cheeks with as much force as possible. "A-Ah, of course I do. Yeah, I do..."

There was a moment of silence, as though he was lost pondering about it for a moment, than he looked up at him. 'It meant more for me than it did for you I guess'' even as he cast these words so casually , he wanted to convey more than he was able to. The brown haired man suddenly perked up in alert and stood up, he heard someone crackling branches and leaves under his feet 'Why am I not surprised' a silver haired man emerged with his hands on his hips as he saw his brother and the Uchiha sitting there, he gave Madara a disgusted look. 'It was fortune that I was passing by to see the Hokage skiving from work' he spoke disapprovingly

Hashirama felt like being a child who just had been caught red handed 'to be accurate, I was taking a break' he crossed his arms and remained motionless in his spot. 'Well I hope you do remember that you have a meeting' Tobirama answered, knowing very well that he was giving him a trail. 'uh..yes of course' Hashirama reluctantly stepped forward, glancing a look at Madara as he passed by. The younger brother walked ahead not really waiting for him, so the brown haired Senju had to catch up with him.

Madara had frozen at the words, his body stopping, his heart pounding in his ears. Where had that come from? The notion of his words, even...that tone, was he- The Uchiha did not know what to think. The sheer idea of it was just maddening- did he mean what he thought he meant? His eyes flickered to the trees just a moment before Tobirama appeared, and he cursed himself for not paying more attention. What was going on here? Was he so caught up with this now that he could not even focus on his surroundings?

Turning sharply towards their retreating backs, he was over there in a moment, taking hold of Hashirama's arm, he pulled him back slightly, giving a glare to Tobirama. "It didn't," he spoke simply, knowing he could not well speak with Tobirama here. That...and he truly did not know what to say. Letting go of his arm, he dropped his hand, stepping back. "It just...it didn't mean more to you." With that, the shinobi turned his back, and disappeared from the clearing.

(that was so incredibly sweet xD )

Hashirama felt something tugging his hand, he turned around to find Madara right behind him, his words cut right through him. He exchanged looks with the Uchiha, his expression softened and his eyes gleamed, that which couldn't be exchanged properly with words it could be read with his eyes. He felt as though something was lift off, as though there was something weighing him down and now it was gone. The older Senju felt like he had a lot to say, but he was dry of words, and the situation didn't permit him to express himself. As Madara left his hand and walked away he followed Tobirama and from time to time he looked back.

Tobirama looked puzzled, not understanding what they were saying something to each other, and it greatly irritated him. When they walked a little further he spoke first 'what was all that about?' but Hashirama only with a cheeky smile 'nothing' The younger Senju frowned even more vexed than before, but he didn't inquire further.

In the late afternoon sun, a dark haired boy sat on the large boulder by the riverbank, his legs stretched out over the side as he leant back on his hands, watching the clouds float lazily across the sky, the colours beaming through in shades of red, purple and orange. Giving a sigh, the Uchiha sat up a little, stretching out his back and gazing down towards the riverbank where Hashirama was sitting, gathering pebbles from the look of it. He had been quiet this afternoon; unlike him. Then again, when he got started, Madara never was very good at shutting up.

"Oi," he called across the bank, sliding down from the rock. "What's eating you? You're quiet."

Hashirama was crossed his legs and arms and appeared to ponder. Actually he was listening to what Madara was saying but then he drifted on to his own thoughts. As usual when something is on the Senju's mind he drifted on his own little word. It happens quite often, and he would look so intensely that you'd think that he was really listening, but than if you call him out he would snap out of it. In fact he looked up a little startled, 'I've been thinking...since I've planned in my head that some day I will create a village where children do not have to fight, what kind of lives they would live?' this thought saddened him because by then he will be an adult and he will never know how to live in a life of peace and going to school 'I mean we can't really know, we have to grow up so quickly, learning how to go to war, and probably marrying early...you know'

  • 1 month later...

"Well...that's a bit..." The Uchiha murmured, running a single hand through his dark hair, giving a deep breath. His words were full of insinuations, and while he couldn't quite match the tone...he knew what Hashirama was getting at. Madara; understood. It was the same thing with him, wondering if even his brothers would grow up and have children. Not that they would anymore...only Izuna had a chance. And he himself...he had been thinking about marriage for a while now. His father had been rather insistant now that his brothers had passed...

"Hopefully, they would have lives...of peace. I can't say what they will have, I guess we can only really think about it. The children I mean. And..." he trailed off, his eyes cast over the river. "...as for a wife...yeah, I know I'll probably haf'ta marry early..."

Hashirama looked saddened at his words, there was much more he wanted to say to his best friend than he was able to. 'I don't want to be fixed up with someone, I know that I may sound childish and selfish but..' he lolled his head to the side, trying to hid the pink tint that stained his cheeks 'I don't know how to act or what to do..' he turned to look at Madara again with a rather serious look on his face 'things like kissing you know'
