He didn't want Shikamaru to go away, he felt so confused at the moment, and now he was beginning to feel the pain that he felt as "rejection". If you don't say it or even show me how will I know." he said softly. He could always tell what another person was thinking on a battle ground but with Neji it was difficult. Quietly, he made his way after Shikamaru, tired and feeling a bit lonesome. "Shikamaru-san...?" questioned the older male before lightly grabbing his hand. Neji's hands were like silk to the touch. All Neji really wanted was to feel the warmth of the younger male's body again, it made him feel...loved, to an extent. It made it so that he didn't feel lonely. There were pale ruby marks around the Hyuga's eyes, showing how much he cried, and how swollen his eyes were from doing so, his face still slightly moist. Neji's voice had a bit of a defensive edge to it, his cheeks turning a deep scarlet color, as if it were to stain his porcelain skin. As degrading as it seemed in the older male's mind, he couldn't help but feel a warm feeling inside, as if he actually wanted to be called a 'puffy strawberry'. Softly, the older Hyuga hugged the Nara back, shaking a bit at the close proximity. Neji was not used to anything like this, and he wasn't sure how to be or what to do. It only makes me wonder if you taste like one." he whispers the last sentence as he was too shy to say so aloud. Feeling Neji hug him back, Shikamaru smiled. "There you go. He knew he was being teased, and he wasn't sure if he was supposed to be offended or if he was supposed to take it lightly. With a soft sigh, Neji nuzzled his head into the crook of Shikamaru's neck sleepily, not understanding the fact that what he just did was considered rather affectionate, and more of something that couples would do. He remembers that it led to kissing somewhere along the lines. He figured Neji was just getting use to being close to someone so he let the thought fade. "I am glad to be of some comfort to you."
