Levirivaille
Bryan's suitcase wheeled Agonizingly slow behind him, the wheels made adjustements to the tiles and he strolled onto campus, the small Eiffel tower merchandise he had purchased at the Airport to remind him of his home flicked about, a chiming sort of sound, hitting the bag's zipper as he continued along.By now, he figured he would have gotten used to this kind of thing. But no, for four consecutive years of moving and he still got nervous on the first day. The dark haired male's eyes had become excited by the opportunities he had now been opened up to, yet all around him was just unfamiliarities, He had spent years studying the english language, but after much procrastination, it was a huge downfall to realise some of the words were hard to even read. Nether the less, he had sat himself down on one of the benches, The university was known for it's sporting attributes, it was primarily why Bryan had considered coming here, The mellow sunlight lightened the outline of his hair, a bright, warm gold glow radiating from the thin strands licking his cheeks in the slight breeze. To say any less, he needed a haircut for a start, over the course of the winter months in france, it now reached his neck. His eye lashes fanned out like lace against his subtle pink cheeks as he flipped through pages in his 'English to French' dictionary, trying to match a few of the rather complex words printed on his map, he was absolutely fluent in the language in all other aspects. The footsteps of by-passing people let him lift his head in curiosity, moving the bag he carried over his shoulder which included his swim wear and placed it on the floor, trying to invite people to sit down next to him, biting into the dessert he had managed to score from a nearby bakery, having starved himself of such food for so long with all the training, He could smell the mint before he tasted it, and the sweet cherry flavour turned his lips up into a small smile. SqueezeBabe
Luke ignored the looks as he carried his bike up the stairs to his dorm room. He'd just finished his training run for the day, cycling 180 kilometres, which took him roughly three hours to complete. But he was getting the time down, little by little. He was training for one of the big road races, the first one since he'd gotten back from Holland. He'd gone over to the Netherlands on a cycling scholarship of sorts. He'd done plenty of cycling, but not much schooling, and now that he was back in Australia, his parents were on his case to get a degree of some sort. It didn't matter that he was good enough to make money out of his cycling, but no, his parents were adamant. "What if you hurt yourself and can't ride again?" they'd said to him. So here he was, at Gold Coast University, doing a degree in Economics AND cycling at the same time. His cycling shoes made a hollow tapping noise on the concrete, and he was carrying the road bike on his bare shoulder. He'd taken his shirt off, and was just in his lycra shorts... which left absolutely nothing to the imagination, he might has well have been completely naked. Lithe muscles rippled as he walked down the corridor, attracting the stares of everyone he walked past. He wanted to snort at them, You'd look like this too if you cycled for 8 hours on the weekend. A typical road race took about 6 hours to complete, in the Netherlands, he was getting his times down to under five hours. The hard work was paying off, and his efforts showed in his physique. His disregard for his appearance was something "learned" in the Netherlands as well. The Europeans seemed to have no problems with shedding their clothes and wandering around the change-rooms completely naked, and his bright red face had been the subject of much teasing the first couple of times, in the end, he was just as unashamed as the rest of them. And now I'm back here where apparently being naked is a sin he inwardly rolled his eyes. He finally made it to the top floor where his room was. He walked down the corridor, and upon spying some girls, his walk changed to a slight swagger, and he turned the charm on, winking as he walked past them. He wasn't that serious about hooking up, but hey, if it got him some action, he was all for it. He unlocked the door to his room, and looked over his shoulder at one of the girls who was definitely eyeing him off. He gave her a winning smile "Y'know... cyclists don't wear anything under the lycra" he said with a wink, noting that her eyes widened slightly at the suggestion, and she pulled her bottom lip between her teeth. He smiled at her again, and stepped into his room, putting his bike up against the wall. He slowly began to count down from ten.... When he'd gotten to four, his door opened as she was standing there. He gave her a wicked grin and pulled into the room, kissing her hungrily. X-----X-----X----X He let the hot water cascade down his back for a minute or two, both hands against the shower wall. The girl had been fun, a good way to release the tension he managed to build up whilst he was cycling. The gentle rhythm lulled his conscious, leaving his subconscious to get up to all sorts of things, normally leaving him horny and frustrated after a long ride. He noticed that it had happened to some of his team mates, so it wasn't really all that strange, just... inconvenient. He turned the water off, and just stood in the shower, letting the water drip from his body. At an easy six foot, he was taller than most, dark red hair, and green eyes to match his pale skin, he smiled slightly, the Dutch had loved his looks, but here... not so much. He was apparently too girly looking here. He stepped out of the shower, rolling his eyes and the blushing, embarrassed looks. "Oy, Homo, cover up or something!" Luke gave the guy the finger and slowly wrapped towel around his waist. "You don't have to look y'know" he shot back, as he stepped out of the bathroom, and sauntered down the hallway back to his room. His time trials for the university team were tomorrow, and he needed to get a good nights sleep, if he wanted to feel sufficiently rested. He flopped down onto his bed, still wearing the towel. He'd make the university team easily enough, this was all going through the motions, but he needed to be in the university team so that he'd be able to get selected for the nationals, and from there, kick start his cycling career once more. Should be fun this year
b.lueeyes
Alec shoved his hands into the pockets of his jeans as he stepped through the sliding doors of the track complex, closing his eyes at the feel of the sun on his bare arms. It was a little bit warm today, not too hot, but certainly not cold. The wind was just enough to give a cool breeze. He started walking, his strides long and confidant, lost in his thoughts. The uni physio had asked for his files, and he'd gone to drop them off. While he had his own physio (one that was much more professional for a start) should they be unavailable, and there was an emergency, she would be the easiest one to get to. He thought about actually having to go to her though, and shuddered. Her office looked like a dump, he hated to think of actually being treated in there. Who kept plants in a sterile area? He turned to walk towards the uni cafe, deciding he might as well stop in before he headed for home. He sat down at a table towards the edge of the undercover seating area, crossing one leg over the other at the knee and pulling out his phone. He placed an order with one of the ditzy looking girls who passed by, giggling and flushing at him in what he supposed was an attempt at flirting, for a double shot ginger and mango iced tea, before he sat down to check his messages. One from his mother, six from his physio, four from his nutritionist, nine from his PT, eleven from his surgeon, sixteen from his... 'Oh god, shut up,' he thought to himself, setting his phone down and leaning back in his seat, looking out over the campus with indifferent cobalt blue eyes. Sure, they could be concerned, but none of them had any right to tell him what he should or should not do, purely based on his mental state. His mum must have finally called in Dr. Sawyer to text him, because honestly all the messages were leading to that. His stupid therapist...he hated the guy with a passion; where did he get off trying to tell him whether he was healthy or not? The man was practically bipolar himself! Alec gave a deep sigh and looked up slightly as his drink was set in front of him, letting the salty smelling wind flow through his dark brown hair, bringing up a hand to keep it out of his eyes. He liked it here...not at the university itself, he liked it in Queensland. On the coast. He loved the sea. Luckily, his mother had made him apply for some university scholarships or he had no idea how he'd get back into all of this...not without some damn hard work, more than they'd already done. He was fine; he seriously was. The doctors, except for Sawyer, all said so; he was in top condition he could be in, considering his physical condition. He was nearly back to where he was...he just needed to get that extra inch.
Levirivaille
Bryan shooed the crumbs from his lap, his lips curved into the simplicity of a smile, the plumpness of his lips dimpled at the ends, it was content, reaching into the average bag, shifting his books and a painting or two, some of His older drawings, and some architectural sketches his father did years ago that were just small thing that were a friendly reminder. He heaved himself off the bench with a yawn, Bryan, unlike many other swimmers, Didn't depend on Sheer muscle to accelerate him through the water, He had a slim torso, protruding hipbones and wasn't overly tall, he just did as was natural to him. He shifted his clothes a little, they were designer, yet were surprisingly large, the 'fatpants' slipped occasionally, and the shirt rippled in the wind. Following the small Symbol that was meant to resemble a swimmer, he continued on his way, he had a simplicity to his posture that related to a casualness, sure, he was out of his comfort zone, completely lost out of his mind, but Bryan never seemed to get tensed, even when in the water, his arms had a beautiful angle, and a they cut into the ocean gently. The swimming centre was built primarily of glass, almost inviting the hopeful into its grasp. The male's breath fogged and clouded his vision for a moment at the anticipation to tear of his clothes and just slip himself in, his hand fanned out on the cool surface as he watched, mesmerized. Soon he was barged past by a few swimmers on their exit, their glistening skin and heavily compacted muscles rippled across their arms, intimidatingly eyeing the french male, of course with every shoulder barge, bryan apologized, though it was no fault of his own, it brought him back to reality and he trudged off towards the room number messily scribbled in a purple gel pen across the back of his pale skin. Still contently smiling to himself, He was able to catch glimpses through pried open doors, through many were dubiously legal activities, gambling and women, i guess i better get accustomed to the lifestyle. Bryan had come from a small country village, the most bustle of life was from the herds of long horned cattle that littered the wide pastures, fortunately, their farm had excellent produce, and they weren't too deprived of money to say the least, well, he and his mother, his father had ran off when Bryan was born, and he fled the country, to Australia. That was The dark haired man's main objective, the only knowledge he had of the Man was that he swam in Australia, it was a far set goal, but if someday by chance Bryan had the chance to confront him, he would try convince him how proud of him he should be. Bryan was humble about his talent, modest, even, but he knew he was an exceptional swimmer, excelling at most styles. Bryan opened the door of the dark room and let his guitar case slide off his shoulder, the bag, too, and flopped himself on the bed, satisfied with the result of this new country so far, majority of people were friendly, and the accent intrigued him. " Australia" he let the word ring out in a faint whisper
SqueezeBabe
Luke hurried through the campus towards the velodrome. He'd nearly managed to oversleep, having decided not to go for his morning ride to make up for the fact that he was doing time trials. He hated velodrome riding, but it was going to be a requirement of his tuition - it was a scholarship as such, but the university was going to give him discounts if he joined the cycling team and helped them out in the nationals. He really preferred road racing, but the sprints would help nonetheless. The quickest way to get to the velodrome was to cut through the university cafe... Shit he thought, this place is busier than what i thought it would be. He struggled to get through the throng of students, and was shoved into one of the tables, upsetting the contents all over the occupant. "Oh my god, I am so sorry mate!" he said hastily, righting the table back to it's original position. He cringed at the slight Dutch accent that came out when he got flustered. He hastily scribbled his mobile number down on a napkin, shoving it at the occupant, "Here's my number, I'll apologise properly when my university tuition isn't on the line!" he said hurriedly, giving the guy one of his dazzling smiles and a wink as he dashed off. A wink and a smile? What the fuck are you thinking? It's not like you're back in Holland where the guys go for that sort of thing, you've probably traumatised him for life he chastised himself as he ran through the campus towards the velodrome, arriving huffing and out of breath. It was hard to explain to people that despite being super fit, and able to cycle hundreds of kilometers, that he couldn't run. His excuse was that his muscles were now all cycling muscles, unfit for doing any other sort of physical activity seriously. Give him a bike, and he'd crush whoever it was in a race or competition, make him run, and he was next to useless. He quickly shed his tracksuit and pulled his cycling shoes on, and hurried into the velodrome proper. He walked up to the cycling coach, and apologised for his tardiness. "I, uh, don't actually have a velodrome bike, only a road one" he rubbed the back of his head self-consciously. The coach slapped him on the back, "That's fine, just grab one of the uni ones. I don't need you to do this seriously, I just need you to post a time. Having said that, I expect you to go your hardest and not throw it in." Luke nodded and grabbed one of the velodrome bikes, studying it for a bit. The damn thing didn't have gears like a normal road bike, relying on pure power, it didn't even have brakes, if you wanted to stop, you had to pedal backwards. He sighed and wheeled the bike over to the starting block. He took the time to adjust the seat to the right height, allowing his leg to extend fully on the downward stroke, and when he done, clipped the the back wheel into the start block and swung his leg over the bike, settling himself in. He picked up the teardrop shaped helmet and adjusted it on his head, and got himself ready, waiting for the buzzer to signal his start.
b.lueeyes
Alec was about to pick up his phone again when a dark shadow passed over him. There was a split second of shock before his table was practically bowled over, his iced tea splashing all over him, the majority landing on his cheeks, the rest spilling onto his chest. He lifted his arms, pursing his lips in annoyance as he looked up to the redhead who had thrown over his table. He took in the hurried man, his eyes going up and down for a moment, before he opened his mouth to speak- -only to realise that by then he had his table upright, a piece of scrap paper with a number and a name on it sitting in front of him and the guy was running off towards the arenas. He looked down at himself, seeing just how wet he was, and grimaced. Grabbing the paper off the table he took a look at it. Luke. He scoffed and leant down to to pick up his phone from where it had clattered onto the ground. He was glad he had a Samsung 4. Otherwise it would be gone. He breathed out deeply, running a wet hand through his hair as he stood, one of the waitors running over to fix his table. Dammit for gods sake, couldn't he catch a break? He slapped some money down on the table. "There's the drink money," he said irritably, before he shoved his phone in his pocket and stalked off towards the street. Levirivaille
Bryan's alarm buzzed to life at 5:00 AM. He smacked the snooze button and stared at the ceiling, occasionally rolling his attention to the blinking lights on the alarm, his small frame propped itself up on the matress, and he had headed to the pool, his posture was in an excitable warm stroll. Finally he would get to swim. After a short period that had been his changing, he dove straight into the coolness that was the water, the small drops that extended out from his movements cooled his forehead as his actions began in a quickened motion, his arms swapping at a adrenaline fueled pace, one thing that was familiar to Bryan and that would never become distant, was those few seconds of excitement that ashed his veins from the starting block to the end of the pool -And beyond that, sometimes it was thrilling. Intoxicating. Managing to slow his speed so he could excel in his agility aspects, he had managed at least 50 laps, by the end his lungs were rasping and his heart pounded a repetitive rythem, he pulled himself out and toweled himself down, leaving the Damp cloth to hang loosely around his neck as a certain pin board that hung above the main office of the area caught Bryan's dark eyes, it was a flyer advertising some sort of triathlon, his eyes darted side to side as he read over the information, he was certainly curious, but lacked two main and rather large qualities, two others to join him. After a warm, steamed Shower, the smell of chlorine clung to his hair, His pulse was quick as he slipped his hands into his oversized black jacket, his own actual training didn't start for a few days, so he considered wandering around aimlessly until he found something to fill the space. Bryan had enough endorsements throughout his high school years to be able to set him up for his own scholarship, even the government in France had been quick to respond with the money he needed, His time spent in Australia was luckily fully funded, so there was one thing that didn't worry the male. His stomach growled in a boiling ravenous rumble." Ah-" food was something Bryan never had enough of, although god only knew where the hell it went, his metabolism was speedy, hardly able to gain a few pounds, and when he did, it was quickly burnt off in the water. He headed off campus, a dangerous move, seeing he was about as knowledgable about the area surrounding as he was tense. He let his hair whip his cheeks as the direction he looked in seemed inviting, his headphones were plugged into his phone, the woman on the audio reading out A few words in the soothing accent, Bryan repeating them quietly, as much as he was proud of where he came from, he desperately was trying to fit into the every day hustle and bustle, and if gaining an accent would disguise him, he hoped it worked. SqueezeBabe
Luke punched the wall of the shower, angry with himself and what had happened. Of all the times, his foot had pulled from the pedal, and he'd been unable to get enough power to the bike in those first few crucial seconds. It didn't matter that he'd quickly recovered and powered through the rest of the trial, the starts were the most important. He failed in the sprints, but his long distance riding was paying off. He still posted the time he needed to, but he could tell the coach's faith in his riding abilities had wavered slightly. Having your foot slip from the pedal was a rookie mistake, one that he shouldn't be making. He gritted his teeth, damn velodrome riding, this is why I hate this shit so much! Give me the open air, hills to climb, scenery to watch! He washed the sweat from his body roughly, leaving his skin a little red, viciously turning the taps off when he was done. He'd have to go back to his rooms for a proper change of clothes, in his rush, he'd forgotten to pack extra's, usually putting his track pants back on over his lycra. He'd worked hard, and the lycra was soaked through with sweat, and there was no way he could put his trackies back on over the top. The sweat would cause his skin to chafe. If i'm going straight back to my room, then having the trackies on and going commando shouldn't be a problem he thought to himself as he pulled his pants on. He winced slightly unaccustomed to having everything just... hang like it was. He stuffed his lycra and his cycling shoes back into his bag and headed out of the change rooms. b.lueeyes
It didn't take Alec long to wander to his apartment, only a few blocks away from the university, a powerful looking townhouse in the middle of the city center. That was the upside of having a mother in politics, he supposed; he did not need to worry about money, as much as he wished she would stop throwing money at him as an excuse to help him recover. He opened the door, picking the right key the first time around. He threw his keys on the dark wood front bench and kicked the door closed behind him, pulling his shirt over his head roughly and throwing it towards the laundry on his way past, throwing himself up the winding stairwell two at a time. He pulled off his belt, throwing it on his bed as he walked across the loft like bedroom towards his bathroom, only slowing to pull off his jeans carefully. Despite his recovery...he was still careful of his legs, being careful that he didn't strain them, particularly when not running. He stepped into the shower, throwing the faucet on hot and standing there under the spray, his dark hair plastering to his face and the top of his shoulders. Levirivaille
Recognizing Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No.3 flowing out from one of the streets, intriguingly Bryan trailed down it, small trinkets littered the stalls, food was completely forgotten as he surrounded himself in the vibe, the sun blazing down on the boy's pale skin, warming the boy's expression even more. Eventually, with a bag filled of random assortments, Bryan had found his way back to the university (with the help of his gps of course) his limbs were dangling, tainted with a tiredness that was bearable, bryan had just considered it a reminder his day had been well spent. His smile was wan, but hesitant bliss shone from his eyes. The audio had been replaced by the gentle soft rythem of a singular guitar recording, releiving him from any thoughts, and he began ascending up the stairs once more to the room, his well toned arms clutching the bag possessively, it was almost filled with things he hadn't sven thought twice of buying,it would be disasterous if he happened to break them. The hallway seemed longer than usual, no one more than a single person remained in the path, he was overly tall, from the back sight if him he seemed well muscled also, Bryan's eyebrows shifted upwards, then hurried his soft gaze to the males thick dark red hair, a beautiful shade that made him envious. First impressions were usually pleasant, in france anyway, in english he had no idea how it woukd turn out, nether the less, his lips parted in that same subtle, dimple -cheeked grin, and he shifted the brown paper bag to his hip, resting it there as he fumbled for his key." Hello~" Bryan's voice cascaded out like velvet, the accent overpowering his tone, it wasn't superior, or arrogant, a softness to his voice, unlike many french men's accent, bryan's was almost feminine, his dialect didn't help that factor either. " my ..er..name is Bryan," his eyes crinkled with a sense of happiness .
SqueezeBabe
Luke raised an eyebrow at the sound of the heavy French accent. He smiled back, and without thinking replied "Heureux de vous rencontrer, je m'appelle Luc" and then paused, wondering if he'd gotten it right. He hadn't spoken any since he'd returned, but he'd learnt French when he was overseas, even though not very many people spoke it in the Netherlands, he'd learnt French as well as German and Dutch, seeing as learning languages almost seemed like the national hobby. Everyone spoke at least another two languages, and he didn't want to get left behind, so he studied hard and learned as well, often joking with his friends as they switched from one language to the next. The multiple languages had helped when they'd gone on holidays to neighbouring countries. "Je suis en train de changer maintenant, avez-vous envie de venir avec moi pour boire un verre?" I'm just getting changed now, did you want to come with me for a drink? Luke winced slightly, sure that he'd gotten his words all confused. He smiled one of his dazzling smiles. "I'm sorry, I probably should stick to speaking English" he said, "Just give me a minute to get changed and I'll be back." Luke hurried inside his room and quickly got changed into his jeans and a button-up shirt and running a hand through his hair, finger-combing it before he stepped back outside again. "Sorry, I didn't mean to be so forward, just that I know what it's like to be a stranger in a foreign country"
b.lueeyes
Alec shut off the faucet after a good half an hour, spending the majority of the time simply standing under the spray, allowing the burning warmth to wash over him. Stepping out into his rather large bathroom, he took one of the fluffy, chocolate coloured towels from the railing and slinging it loosely around his slender hips, bringing another one to his hair as he picked up his jeans and left the room, padding across the hardwood floor of his loft space towards his bed. Digging through his pockets, the dark haired man fished out his phone and checked through the message he knew would be there; he had heard the tone while in the shower. Sighing, he rolled his eyes. His mother. Probably with some nonsense about- 'Those from the sporting faculty are hosting welcoming drinks at the University Club tonight! Go, meet some new people! Enjoy yourself! Kisses, mummy.' -Yep, nonsense about his social life. Alec stared at the message for a while, unable to help the tiny, fond smile that overcame his lips at the ending of the message. He texted back a quick thanks before he finished toweling his hair, standing and dropping the towel from his caramel coloured skin. He thought as he moved towards his wardrobe about what it meant. Drinks at the University Club. It sounded so prissy it wasn't funny, but then again...it was the sporting faculty. He was meant to be getting back into the swing of things...honestly what could be the harm in going? In the end, he redressed in form fitting black jeans, his favourite slate boots he'd bought in Italy last year, and a simple print t-shirt, hugging his form but not too closely. He simply ran his hands through his hair and turned towards his full wall mirror, fixing the dark brown strands into something resembling hair. Grabbing his phone and his wallet, Alec took up one of his grey blazers and practically flew down the stairs, grabbing his keys on the way out. Levirivaille
Bryan's eyes were reflecting the content and nourishing feeling of his language spoken to him, a familiarity that made the boy's eyes glint with pride, he had to hand it to Luke, he knew his french in an impressive manor. Bryan's eyelashes battered as he began picking out key words in the sentence, then scrambling around the words till they formed a invitation out for a drink, he felt at ease with the guy, and wasn't in any protest to his request." Sure, that sounds, how do you say, interesting," Bryan's easiness overflowed as he gently tugged on the hem of the other's well-fitting shirt, he had no idea where he was going, but his slender fingers (manicured, also) pulled the material then dropped to snugly slot his hands in the gaping pockets of the Hoodie. Beckoning the red haired male to follow." You said you knew what it's like," Bryan began, in a talkative mood, he had bottled up his words for so long they continued to come with a fondness, his dark eyebrows lifting at times to emphasize certain words in the sentence which would of been bolded in a french constructed sentence." Are you from somewhere else too~?" Bryan's rounded eyes were squinting as if they followed his smile, as they reached outside, Bryan pulled the Large hoodie down from his v-lined chin- Bryan's face was almost doll like in appearance, a roundness to his face and sharpness to his nose that his sister had always been fantasized with, fantasized as to how he gained such feminine features, the siblings were almost opposites. Bryan was his mother's 'poupée'
SqueezeBabe
Luke chatted easily with Bryan, explaining that he'd gone to the Netherlands when he'd left highschool. "My french isn't that great anymore, but if you need any help with translating, i'd be happy to help." he smiled. "The sporting faculty is putting on drinks tonight at the University Club. If you wanted to come with me to that you're more than welcome to. I'm going because I have a scholarship of sorts. I promised to do the cycling events the university tells me to do, and in return they make things... slightly cheaper for me. I'm sure they won't mind if I bring you along!" As they walked through the campus, they continued chatting in a mix of English and French, Luke happy to reminisce his years abroad with someone who at least understood the culture. Sure, being over there as an impressionable teenager and opened his eyes, and made him realise he wasn't as open-minded about stuff as what he first thought he was, and upon coming back, it made him realise just how insular the people were back at home. As they approached the uni bar, he remembered that he needed to track down the cycling coach, who would definitely be somewhere about. "Je dois rencontrer quelqu'un d'abord, voici mon numéro" I have to meet with someone first, here's my number he said to Bryan, smiling as he handed him the piece of paper with his cell number. "Texte moi quand vous trouvez un endroit pour s'asseoir" Text me when you find somewhere to sit. Luke pushed his way through the crowd of people to hunt down his coach. He exchanged pleasantries as he passed, smiling and making quick jokes as he searched. Ten minutes later he felt his phone vibrate in the pocket of his jeans, he'd look at it after he'd finished with his coach. He had another look around, and finally spotted the man near the bar and made his way to him. "Hey, coach!" he called out, sliding through the throng of people. "You wanted to talk to me about something? It couldn't wait til training tomorrow?"
b.lueeyes
Alec decided to hail a quick cab to the university, deciding against walking the over-crowded gold-coast streets at night, while in the middle of the main district of town. He was dropped by the front of the university, and he slung his blazer over his shoulder, his phone tucked into the waistband of his tight jeans, while his wallet filled the back pocket. Sauntering across the grounds, he was met with more than a couple stares. The people were more frequent the closer he got to the uni club, the majority more of them sportsmen. He flashed his brand new uni card to the bouncer and stepped inside, looking around the remotely crowded room. As he walked across the room, the students began to notice just who was walking past them. He was rather well known, or at least in distance sport. "Is that-?" "Yeah, it is; I didn't know he'd dropped for Uni grade, didn't he go to-" "-heard he went to the world championships last year for the under twenty-one's-" "Hawthorne? As in the triathlete?" He completely ignored them as he swept across the room towards the bar, sitting himself down on one of the stools, his blazer settling across the back, and ordering himself a lemon lime and bitters. He wasn't stupid; just because this was university, and this was the University Club, and they had been invited to drinks, that didn't mean that they were free to drink. They were sportsmen; competing sportsmen. They were being watched; who knows what the trainers might do if they actually drunk. Plus...he wasn't much of a drinker anyway. Levirivaille
Bryan placed his phone down on the cool surface of the bar after texting Luke ( in french) the position he was sat at, and asked if he would like anything from the bar. His dark large eyes shifted between murmurings which were anything but hushed.' who's hawthorne... his mind lingered on the obvious last name in question as he swivelled once in his chair, his legs dangled off the stool, unable to touch the ground, he could barely just place the tip of his toe against the floorboards. He eyed the lemon lime and bitters being served to the man next to him, and with jealous eyes, Bryan had ordered the same thing in an instant, eagerly waiting for the coolness to flow down his throat. The place was pretty packed for an average gathering, fit bodies speckling the floor, And Bryan almost gawked at them, if anything he was rather open about his orientation, woman didn't suit his fancy at all. " Merci~" the dark haired swimmer thanked the bartender as the drink was served to him, thirstily letting the icy liquid soothe his envy. Bryan had wanted to tell luke that he was a swimmer, a sports enthusiast himself, but he couldn't find the right words, in either language to express how he felt about his beloved pass time... Or rather, life choice. Unable to spot Luke amongst the rest, Bryan remained in the chair long after he had finished his drink, not wanting to let down his friend(?) after he had specified where he was, Bryan smiled casually as he set his hands in his lap, fiddling with the straw between his lips. SqueezeBabe
"A triathlon? How come this couldn't have waited until tomorrow?!" Luke was a bit cross at the whole thing. "I can't run, let alone swim, why on earth would I want to do a triathlon?!" The coach patted him on the back, "Settle down mate, it's not one of those sorts of triathlons, it's like, a super triathlon. We need the best runner, the best swimmer, and the best cyclist to compete in it. If we win, the sporting faculty gets a huge chunk of funding. You're the best road cyclist we have..." Luke chewed his lip, it stoked his ego to hear that he was the "best" especially after his performance at the velodrome. "I'll think about it" he said, "Depends on who I have to work with and that sort of thing." The coach reached over and pinched his cheek, "It's a super triathlon, that means that each event occurs at the same time, otherwise the damn thing would take too long. You won't have to worry about change overs and that sort of thing, you just have to cycle the course, all 250 kilometres of it." Luke rubbed his cheek where the coach had pinched, 250 kilometres? he thought, that would take amatuers well over seven hours, I'd be lucky if I could do it in 6 hours. Hell, if I posted under six hours, that would put me as olympic material. He looked at the coach warily, "Let me think about it" he said. He exchanged pleasantries with those nearby and moved off to check his phone. "Je suis assis au bar, je vous ai sauvé un siège" I'm sitting at the bar, i've saved you a seat. Luke smiled to himself, Bryan had scored a choice bar seat. As he pushed his way through the crowd towards the bar, he heard the furtive whispers of those around him. Hawthorne? The name sounded vaguely familiar, like a distant memory. He shook his head, he'd been out of the country for too long, and it wasn't like he kept up with the gossip. He snorted to himself, if you were riding every spare moment you had, it's not like you had any time for gossiping. He spied Bryan at the bar and slowly made his way over, noticing that his feet didn't even touch the floor. He clapped Bryan on the back and leaned in close to his ear, "Vous êtes petite, comme une petite poupée!" You're tiny, like a little doll!" Luke ordered a drink from the bar. "I'll have a cider thanks, that one there, on the bottom shelf" Luke had developed a taste for cider whilst overseas, he didn't care that they thought it was a girly drink, the alcoholic content was near negligible as far as he was concerned, and he settled into the seat next to Bryan giving him a wink as he took a swig. b.lueeyes
The dark haired man sat forward in his seat, one elbow resting on the bar as with the other he held his drink. Alec breathed deeply and simply let himself ignore the crowd of people whispering behind him. He looked up to the racing scores and kept his expression emotionless, allowing himself to immerse himself in the track horses. Alec honestly didn't really have any reason to be here; he had asked himself what the harm was in going, but really...he was not known to be the most sociable person. In fact, he tried to avoid places like this as much as possible, not just because of the stares he got (for either his looks, or if people knew him), but also from the sheer idea that he never came to these places with anyone. Alec was a lone wolf; he was harsh and cold, distant and never seeking anyone else's help. Yet, every lone wolf craves company. Sighing, he ran a hand through his hair and turned his head to look at the two beside him, taking a moment to realise that they were speaking French. He sat up a little straighter, turning his eyes back to the bar, but listening in to their words. Alec had been to France a few times, but he had never stayed long enough to pick up the language, and had never really felt the need to learn. He knew the very basics, but...other than that, nothing. He listened curiously, his expression blank and indifferent, to the two speaking; and he could tell that one was native, the accent was clear. Alec sat up straighter, swallowing a little. It reminded him of his year in Italy last year, with the Australian Tri team over there, how he's sat there in cafe's just to listen to the people speak... He took a long final gulp of his drink, and ordered another.
Levirivaille
" oi ~~ne vous moquez pas de ma taille" oi do not laugh at my size, Bryan's voice rang out softly as he gave a light chuckle, it was unique and genuine. Exchanging his words to some form of english he stretched his muscles infront of him, yawning." Swimming will be the death of me." After the first few interactions, Bryan had noted the coolness, the relaxed behavior as the other, flush spreading across his cheeks, he watched the smoke cloud out in front of him. Suddenly a curiosity refreshed Bryan's face as he caught sight of the male beside the two, he seemed to be intrigued by their conversation and Bryan's dark iris' grew wider amongst the sclera, he was just as attractive as his new accomplice, and Bryan had conceded to playing the role of a friendly face, so he leapt at the chance, to attempt to include the Guy in casual conversation." Hello, er~ It's nice to meet you," The unfamiliar face just looked so distant and full of sorrow, He could have sighed at the predictability that his character would be solemnly harsh, but Bryan was doing his damnedest to change it. The swimmer's shoulder gently brushed against Luke's shoulder next to him, a security type of thing. The darting changing lights made seeing anything and focusing rather hard against his eyes, as he watched the liquid pass down the man's throat, as he waited for a reply, he blew the smoke that had drifted in his direction back in the direction it had come, still sweet and graceful in that way. SqueezeBabe
Luke took another mouthful of his cider, and casually glanced over at Bryan as their shoulders rubbed together. He didn't the guy that Bryan was attempting to strike a conversation with, noting that he just looked dull and miserable. "il a l'air ennuyeux pour moi" He looks boring to me he said into Bryans ear, looking the other guy up and down. Luke noted that he was reasonably fit looking, but then again, so was everyone else in the room. He leaned his arm over Bryans shoulder and presented his hand, "Hi, I'm Luke" he said. Boring or not, he'd at least attempt to make friends, at least for Bryan's sake, the poor guy didn't even know anyone here. "LUUUUUUUUKE!!!!!" He winced at the sound of the girlish shriek, and turned in the direction of the squeal. His eyes widened slightly "Wat doe je hier?" What are you doing here? he said in Dutch without thinking. A small lithe girl came bounding up to him, flinging her arms around his neck. "Danique?" Luke was slightly dumbstruck. He turned and faced the other two, "Ce n'est pas ce que vous pensez, c'est ma meilleure amis soeur!" It's not what you think, she's my best friends sister he said to Bryan, blushing slightly. Danique was hot, all supple limbs and soft curves, but if her brother found out, he was good as dead... He untangled himself from her, and spoke quickly in Dutch. She pouted but went off, back into the crowd of people, and eventually to a group of girls. There was much giggling and pointing in their direction and Luke sighed and rubbed his face, he turned back to the other two. "Groupies eh? he said with a short laugh. b.lueeyes
Alec had felt his heartbeat quicken as the Frenchman's eyes had turned on him, and he had simply stared him, his expression indifferent, before the man's friend seemed to notice him. The hand was shoved towards him before he could think, and he looked the man up and down for a moment, before something registered, his eyes widening. This was the one who'd- "LUUUUUUUUKE!!!!!" Alec's eyes turned in the direction of the screech and he instantly turned away. Oh god, groupies. There was nothing worse than a sportsman with groupies. He decided not to get involved, shaking his head and rolling his eyes, returning to his drink. Obviously, the man was popular; he was good looking...very good looking, now that he thought about it. He had the muscles of a serious athlete, but he was lean. Dark red hair and laughter rich-green eyes... Stop it. Stop it right now, Alec, he thought to himself. Don't do that, you know how that ends. So instead, he let himself turn his eyes on the Frenchman once more. What had he said his name was again? Had he even said his name. No, he didn't think so. Alec sat up a little straighter, seeing that he was drinking the same thing as he was, and while Luke (he remembered the guys name even without the screaming ladies) was distracted by his friends, he decided he'd make some work of the introductions. But again, just as he was about to say something- "Groupies eh?" Followed by laughter. Alec pulled back a bit, sitting up in his seat as he looked up towards the taller man, shifting his bare arm to the side of the bar. "Yeah, must be horrible for you," He said, his voice low and a little dark even, his dark blue eyes partially narrowed as they stared up at him. "Knocking over people's tables and gettin' girls, guess that's what you do, right?"
Levirivaille
As much as bryan's chest had sunken in some what of disheartenment to find out Luke seemed pretty straight ( the excitement portraying from the girls, and the pigment of his cheek around that girl had proved that.) his original theory had been correct after all. Nether the less, the man to his right had seemed more forthcoming than he had expected, the almost accusing aspect to the man's voice towards Luke had raised Bryan's superstitions to believe they knew each other, or had, 'bumped' into each other before.Trying to ease what tiny zest of Tension that hovered over them, Bryan had already politely held his delicate hand outwards, an exchange of friendship it seemed to the one he had no familiarity over." Bryan." He had said simply, as he had seen the parted lips before, trying to remember the frenchman's name, tricky, seeing he hadn't given it out. Looking back and forth between the two, Bryan had noted that the two of them seemed unnerved, strong, sure, Bryan was those things too, if you didn't overlook his small stature, but the sturdiness of these two athletes was something admired at least by Bryan. (( gomen it was short c:))
SqueezeBabe
Luke blinked a couple of times. It seemed that this guy had a serious attitude problem, though Luke wasn't one to be affected by surliness in general. "Oh! That was YOU!" he exclaimed. "Shit, I really am sorry about what happened earlier, I was on my way to the velodrome for time trials." He gave the guy one of his dazzling smiles and extended his hand once more. "I'm Luke by the way, let me buy you a drink to make up for the one I trashed..." Luke softened the intensity of the smile a little, "Don't mind the girls, they're only interested in the muscles, not the man..." He took another swallow of his cider, and then waggled the bottle at Bryan, "Avez-vous en voulez un?" Did you want one?
b.lueeyes
So his name was Bryan? The name suited the short Frenchman, he had to say. He took a moment to look at him before Luke spoke, seeming to recognize him. He thought for a moment that perhaps he recognized him as HIM for a moment, and tensed once, but when he just seemed to come up with this afternoon, he let his shoulders relax just the slightest bit. Not a groupie of his then. Good. At least he seemed to know how to make this afternoon up to him. Alec wasn't going to deny a drink. He'd paid for the first one and hadn't got to drink it after all. He gave the very slightest shift as the man spoke French to his companion, turning away from them back towards the bar, clearing his throat. "Alec," he said quietly, staring down at his half-empty drink. He had the hydration appetite of a camel when they actually drank. He could down liquids like there was no tomorrow. "I'm Alec." He repeated, just a little quieter, shifting to shove his phone back into his pocket. "And as for the drink...yeah, I'd say you owe me one."
