Silver Radiance
This is a closed Role Play between Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. (Sebastian) and Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. (Ciel). Concept: Ciel turned into a demon and forced Sebastian into slavery for all eternity. There was a deep disappointment in the demon butler that couldn't be denied. The explosive passion that he had felt for the young male so intensely had been utterly smothered. The boy he was serving no longer resembled the one he had sworn himself to in the beginning at all. After some time a chance arose for the demon to have a second chance. A chance that was forbidden, risky and dangerous, but he refused to allow it to slip through his fingers for a third time. Risking everything, Sebastian found a way to enter into an alternative time line and escape his servatude temporarily. If he could find Ciel in the time line he had escaped to, form a contract and devour the Young Master's soul once and for all, he would complete the final order and be free from the eternal damnation that had nothing but a slow starvation to look forward to, serving a master who was no longer human. It was the only way he could escape. There was no way he would be left in peace, his demonic master would surely send all of his resources after Sebastian in order to retreive him. After all, the dark butler had worked hard in Hell to build up Ciel's status, as ordered. Perhaps this would all be for nothing, but when one is damned to an eternity of starvation and servatude, desperate measures were called for. The new time line: There are a few differences in this time line. Ciel is older than the original time line, 17 years old to be exact. Also, his parents passed away recently in what was dubbed as an 'accident'. Tanaka has been the faithful butler of the Phantomhive household but is quite old and unable to perform a lot of his tasks. Though Ciel's parents kept him on anyway due to their attachment to his long service, Ciel recognises the need for someone slightly more capable and competant and seeks to employ a talented butler who can cater towards his specific needs as the new head of the Phantomhive household... Little does he know that a demon is on the prowl, all too eager to concoct a devious plan to devour his soul. ~Silver Radiance / Sebastian Michaelis~
b.lueeyes
The mid morning rays of the sun spilled through the tall bay window, light flickering over the expansive, lavish bedroom. Long, flowing curtains billowed down around him where he lounged on the window, gazing out towards the summer gardens, his cheek resting on his chin. The morning was still fairly young, and the light had invited him to come and see the world outside from his bed, something that was rare at best. His long, slate grey hair fell in a few messy tangles over his shoulder, somewhat knotted from sleep, some locks falling over his sleepy eyes. He reached up to push his fringe from his his face, giving a short little sigh as he sat up a little straighter, peering past the glass and down towards the perfect gardens. The young master almost wished that there was some kind of flaw among the blossoms, but there was none, that he knew. Despite his age, his butler was diligent in his work, and his staff had retained their standards raised by his parents expectations. Earl Ciel Phantomhive stilled as he thought about his elderly manservant, the loyal and incredible Tanaka. The man had served his family since before he was born; his father had once told him that even when he himself was a child Tanaka had served the family. Throughout the years, he had been there through his strengths and, unfortunately his weaknesses. With the passing of his parents two years ago had come the realization that he was the sole Phantomhive heir, and the head of the family. As such, Tanaka had supported him through all of the trials he had as the Queen's Watchdog, as the head of a royal branch family and yes, as a young man of society finding himself. Yet, the Phantomhive butler was not as young as he used to be. It was taking a toll upon him, running around after a young man of high society, even the other staff had noticed it, as had Ciel. He was fatigued as of late, slower, and oddly forgetful, an aspect that he had never had before. That was what had prompted Ciel's thoughts; the idea that his butler...his friend even, was beginning to forget things that had happened or been asked of him mere minutes before. Ciel knew, no, he had known for months even that his butler could not last the year the way things were going. The London Underground was more hot in activity than ever, and if keeping up with Ciel himself was not enough, the Phantomhive butler was responsible for providing as much assistance as was necessary to the heir in order to keep the underworld clean. As such...the young earl knew that he would need to find a replacement for his faithful butler. A knock sounded at the door and the earl looked up, two bright, endlessly blue eyes blinking in surprise. He had been lost in his thoughts, not something that happened all that often. He had not thought of the time. "Enter," He murmured, but his butler had heard him. The double doors opened inwards to reveal his elderly servant, wheeling the breakfast cart, laden with his morning meal. The man looked up, the wrinkles around his eyes crinkling pleasantly as he took in his young master on the windowsill. "Ah, young master. You are awake unusually early this morning," the man wheeled the cart towards the end of the bed. "Would you like to dine by the window this morning?" "Yes, Tanaka," He replied, giving him an aristocratic smile. The butler turned and began to pour his young masters tea, the familiar smell of Earl Gray filling the room. Ciel kept his eyes upon Tanaka, thinking for a long moment, his fingers running slowly through his hair unconsciously. The strong-willed Earl tilted his head to the side, directing his words to Tanaka. "Tanaka..." he breathed, swallowing once. "Do you-" "My lord, I understand your concerns," the butler interrupted gently, turning towards him holding Ciel's favourite china, bone white with delicate cobalt blue and gold rose patterns swirling throughout. "I myself have noticed my disposition lately, and...I understand your thoughts that I will not be able to continue to serve you. "Tanaka..." "No, my young lord, do not fret." He said, passing the tea into his hands. Ciel took hold of the teacup, his eyes narrowing slightly. He was not used to being interrupted as such, but...this once, he chose to listen to his companion. "I myself have already begun to organize for applications for the position of Head Phantomhive butler, on your behalf." Ciel's rosette lips dropped open slightly, his eyes softening as he gazed at his butler. He inclined his head, closing his eyes, and bringing the sweet smelling tea to his lips, swirling it very slightly in his cup. "Ah, you know me well, Tanaka. I trust that you will see to it." "Of course, my lord. What kind of butler would I be if I did not?"
Silver Radiance
The first time around had been so easy... Being called out it was all too simple to come face to face with the earl of the Phantomhive estate. This time, there was no call for his dark services. In this place, this time, there was no anguished cry for the help of the devil. Even as those crimson eyes laid upon a familiar mansion for the first time in what seemed like forever, the gravity of the situation was not lost on the dark creature. This was not something he could just stroll into. It would require deeply careful calculation and timing if his plans were to succeed. Everything had been risked for this one chance, he could not afford to fail, for any reason. The window to Ciel's bedroom was watched by deep crimson orbs, closely. Those eyes, they seemed to have been waiting far too long for but a glimpse of something far lost and bordering on forgotten. Pushed too far, working too long, starving slowly and descending into the madness that followed left the demon with little more than a shred of hope to cling to and this was where it would all begin. All he needed was to see that the possibility was real, that the chance he had come to find was not a lie. Soon enough, the elderly male set up the table by the window and dark eyelashes narrowed in anticipation as the dark creature waited, unmoving with eyes fixed upon the place where he had hoped to see that personified salvation he had been craving for far too long. All at once, a familiar tinge of teal invaded that space he had been watching and a tall, slender frame shifted into the chair. Immediately Sebastian's eyes widened with surprise. Was it possible that he had miscalculated? Had he wasted his only possible chance? Teeth clenched together and white gloved hands tensed as he refused to look away, bidding for that figure to turn, to allow him to confirm if all hope was lost or recovered. Turn... Turn... The darkness in the shadow of the tree he kept behind seemed to gather and cling to the demon's frame, radiating dark energy as every muscle tensed. The blackness grew, like an aura around his body, threatening to block out all light if he desired to bid it to do so. That feeling of desperation cast such uncertainty, he had to know, was this all for nothing? TURN! Finally, the male turned his face toward the window as if hearing Sebastian's desperate, yet silent plea. Those captivating pools of sapphire leisurely seeking outside with a sense of depth and loss that was impossible to fathom. The curve of his jaw, the soft yet masculine face, it was impossible to deny the likeness. The many years in which Sebastian had watched over Ciel Phantomhive, even with age, it was impossible for him to forget that face. The clenched fist released and eyes narrowed, taking in the sight of the male on the other side of that glass, deeply resembling his former master. it was definately confirmed. Though a little taller, hair a little longer and a few years older, there was no mistaking it. This was the human equivalent to what he had lost so many years ago. This was... His salvation... The demon's whole body began to shake, impossible to control he jolted back and forth until a dark chuckle escaped those deceptively soft lips. The blackness surrounding slowly uncoiled as if it were a viper backing down from a striking pose. It was so unusual to feel any sense of joy again after such a long time, it almost felt unnatural. The deep red eyes that seemed so tired but a moment earlier seemed to be renewed with vigor, fixing upon the boy... No. Young man, just behind the glass. Lifting a white gloved hand the dark haired demon rested it upon his chest and inclined forward gently, those eyes never once leaving the male above, obsessively watching as he bowed silently vowing to stop at nothing to obtain Ciel Phantomhive once again. Everything he was would be dedicated to this task, he would stop at nothing, absolutely nothing. Walking toward the doors wearing that heavy black coat over the usual butler attire, the demon considered the possibility of changes in this particular time line, wondering whether Ciel's tastes would have remained the same, as well as his other habits. Excitement crept over every pore of his being, the thought of being able to serve his precious master yet again... Being able to see those eyes with such human emotions buried within, it made him ache like never before. It was now that he would prove himself to Tanaka, playing the part of the new applicant, a skillful butler seeking a worthy master all too eager to please... And to devour. b.lueeyes
He stood slowly from his seat, stretching his back almost like a cat as he moved towards the seating Tanaka had set up for him. The man truly did do a rather brilliant job, and even with Tanaka personally choosing his new butler...there was the possibility that there would never be such good service in the house of Phantomhive as Tanaka's. As Lord of Phantomhive, he resided over the Phantomhive Manor, as well as numerous others under his family's estate, passed down through the generations. He had taken this particular manor as his home and confide, occasionally in the autumn taking trips to one of the outer estates. Last summer, he had taken Elizabeth to his townhouse in Versailles; they owned numerous quantities of land in other countries. A total number of two hundred and seventeen staff were currently employed by the Phantomhive estate to either game keep or indeed upkeep the numerous properties; seventy odd of which were stationed within the manor grounds. Yet, out of all of these houses that any butler had ever served in, Ciel was sure, as had his father and possibly his grandfather before him, that Tanaka was the best butler they had ever had the honour to serve them. As Tanaka spoke over the happenings in London, Ciel absently ate small nibbles of his french toast, too distracted by thoughts of how things would change to listen to every tidbit of titillating news. Surely Tanaka would stay for some time longer. Ciel was not one unaccustomed to change, but there were some things that should not be changed quickly. Serving staff were one of them. Butlers particularly. While attending Weston, he had heard the head prefect Redmond continually groan about how few competent servants were around in this day and age. Ciel couldn't help but agree, particularly after his five years at Weston College. He had needed to engage in activities fit for servants on more than one occasion. They were not pleasant. The young master turned his eyes longingly out the window, wishing if anything that he could be wandering the gardens at that moment instead of wiling away his worries in front of Tanaka, when they primarily concerned him. He brushed his hair out of his eyes and glanced up at Tanaka, who had asked for his opinion on the current state of the East India Trading stocks. He opened his mouth to reply, ready to roll his eyes and spiel about the sheer idiocy of the East India tradesman, when the sound of the bell downstairs met his ears. Ciel turned towards the window once more, craning his neck down towards the path, his slate brows furrowed in confusion. "Who could that be at this hour of the morning? I do not have an appointment this morning," he said, turning back to Tanaka, his tea warming his hands. "Do I?" He certainly didn't remember it if he did. The butler looked thoughtful, before he shook his head, and stood up straight. "I apologize young master, I do not recall any appointments for this morning. Please, continue your breakfast, I shall see to the happenings downstairs." The elderly man bowed low, his gloved hand falling gracefully over his heart, before he stood up straight and exited the room, closing the double doors behind him. Faintly, the earl could hear Tanaka calling for two of the maids to accompany him, and he sat back against his chair. Who could possibly be calling this early in the morning? Ciel thought, taking another small bit of his toast, the cinnamon bursting against his tongue. He swallowed his bite, took one moment to think about whether or not he should ready himself to receive an address, before he stood gracefully from his chair and moved into his washroom to quickly clean himself up. ---------- The Phantomhive butler descended the stairs as swiftly as he dared, the two maids flanking his stairs just as they always did when they received visitors unexpectedly. Usually, for expected visitors, the majority of the staff would be in presence to greet them, however as this was completely unanticipated, they could not be held accountable. Tanaka practically sailed across the gleaming marble floor of the landing, taking a moment to fix his monacle before turning his eyes up to the large, crystal chandelier above his head. Yes, perfectly clean; not a spot of dirt anywhere. Perfectly fitting their household. He reached the door and nodded his head to the maids, who took their places on the left hand side of the doorway, ready to greet, before he opened the extravagent double doors to half arms length, standing tall and proud before their (incredibly tall, he noted) guest. "Yes, how may I help you sir?"
