Law and Order: Forbidden Intent ((RP with Akira_Skye))

Before Mike could react, Connie yanked him down shouting, "Mike, look out!" knees scraped against against the sidewalk.

 

The cops were going to run up to Cedric but one asked, "Wait... What are you doing in the home of one of the District attorneys?"

 

Connie looked at Mike in shock and then said in a shaky voice, "Is *he* why you didn't want us to come in? Was he threatening you, Michael?"

 

Mike shook his head as he attempted to stand up. "No... If he was, he'd have stayed inside. No, he stayed with me last night as he no where else to go. The gang kicked him out."

 

Connie squinted her eyes at him, "You what?! You entrusted your house to this... animal?"

 

Mike replied, "He's not an animal. He's a man who wants to change the course of his life... He said so himself. It couldn't hurt to try and redeem the supposedly unredeemable."

Cedric flared up at Connie as he kneeled on the ground. "He's right you know." He then smiled warmly as he looked back up at Mike. "It's okay Mike. I know what I have to do. I have to pay for the crimes that I have committed. I'm sorry to leave you so suddenly. I know we just started. But I have to answer for the sins I've committed. And there's no convincing the others. Just know I love you." He smiled warmly as one tear fell from his eye. "I'm ready. Do what you must with me."

Though Connie didn't hear a single word Cedric said. All she knew was that Mike was harboring a felon. She looked at the cops and said, "What are you waiting for? Arrest both of them!!!!"

 

Mike let himself be handcuffed as he simply watched Cedric. Cedric was willing to turn himself in, no questions asked... It's unfortunate Connie could not see that Cedric had changed. No matter, Mike can't change anything now. He looked at the cops, "No need for force, officers, as I am going willingly."

 

Connie leaned over and whispered in Mike's ear, "Will get you out of this Mike. Not sure what he did to seduce you but I will ensure you come back to me."

 

Mike didn't reply as he was pushed into the cop car. He shook his head, "Should've said something long before now before you bothered to come after me," he thought to himself.

Cedric sat there awaiting arrest. He shouldn't have let his heart get in the way before it was over! How could he have been so stupid? Nothing he could do about it now he supposed. "I'm sorry Mike... Please forgive me..."

Connie looked at the cops and said, "Don't bother arresting Cedric. We have no evidence he's done anything to violate his bail..."

 

She then turns to him and says, "I don't know what you said or did to Michael to corrupt him but I hope you're happy your plan worked: He's the one in jail mostly for stuff you did as opposed to you being the one behind bars. Now that he's away from you, he will come back to his senses and to me. All I can say is you better show up to court tomorrow!!!"

 

The cops were talking about Michael going to the facility Cedric went to. "I can't believe it," says one of them, "I thought he was a straight shooter. Guess not."

Cedric simply glared at Connie. "You bitch. I can't believe you. How DARE you try and take him away from me!?" Cedric then rushed at Connie to attack her before he was held down by the police force there. "He won't come back to you! He never will!" His shouts were loud. And then he heard that comment from the cops. He then turned over and in a flash of anger kicked them both and ran for it. "Don't worry Mike! I have a plan!" He shouted as he ran off to lose them.

At the facility Cedric was taken to earlier, Mike was going through his mind where he went wrong with regards to keeping their relationship secret. All he could boil down to was he should have remained calmer when talking to Connie. Then Cedric would have never overheard the argument.

 

He sat in his cell, now wearing the jail clothing. The humiliation of being processed through the system still fresh in his mind. All he wanted now was to hide his face. He could not help but look down in shame... He was supposed to be the modeled citizen and help get Cedric of this and not end up in jail himself! Now... his career and all he did to build up his reputation as a good modelled citizen was ruined. He only hoped he could salvage it somehow for his sake and Cedric's case.

Connie shouted at the cops, "After him! We can get him back behind bars for attempted assault..."

 

The cops chased Cedric as fast as they could run. Unfortunately it would be bad to discharge their weapons in a residential neighbourhood so they had to use limited resources. It wasn't long before Cedric's trail went cold. The lead policewoman said, "Set up a community watch, make sure he cannot get outside of the community. In the meantime, get a search warrant for Mike's place. It could have more evidence."

And just like that Cedric's mind raced. His thoughts on how if he never confessed he wouldn't be in this situation; his love would be running free... He hates himself. He should just turn himself in. So he walked back noticing one cop still around. "Hey, I surrender. Just take me in." He sighed and assumed the position for arrest.

The cop turned around and looked Cedric up and down. She grinned a bit before saying, "Seriously? You're this supposedly big bad gang leader the other cops are making a big deal about? Nevermind what your ex-gang members attempted to do... Hmmm... Well, Cedric, don't let me stop you from getting the man you love back. In fact, I would be willing to help you for a price."

Cedric eyed the cop for a moment before hesitantly speaking. "Yes, I am. And you'd best offer me something good. Less you got a death wish or somethin'. Love is weird okay?" He still held his position as he spoke. But he didn't give up hope. "Okay, what's your price and what's your offer?"

The cop simply answered, "Control of your territory. I have that and your ex-gang members will have no choice but to work for me. What do you say?"

Cedric simply glared up at the cop. His iced over eyes chilling anything to freezing. "You bitch. I'll never give you control over that. I'd rather die than give up anything that's MINE." He growled a little and bared his teeth.

She says simply, "Poor Mike... Guess he'll know soon enough who his 'boyfriend' really gives a damn about. I'll make sure to let him know when I offer the same bargain to him." She laughed as she started to walk away

Cedric took a running start towards the cop and tackled her down. Hiding that same knife at her throat. "Listen here you vile thing. I would never give them to YOU. I would rather disband them all before that. So think carefully next time you speak."

"Finally, you ate acting like the hang leader you are supposed to be. Now do you want to help Mike escape out do you want to sit on your ass? Because of I turn you in now, that's what you'll be doing. However give me a cut of the cash in exchange for information I will ponder the best way to get him out."

Cedric snarled and threw the cop down to the ground. "Think before you speak! I've got more cash than you know! And you won't see a goddamn penny."

The cop spoke simply, "Listen, Mike is being processed. His next court time is later this afternoon when he can make bail or not. I can make it so I'm the one that brings him to court. Keep giving me cash to be your crooked cop, and I can drive mike where ever you like.

Cedric shook his head. "I'LL be the one to pay his bail. Like I said: you won't see a goddamn penny of what I have." He stood and walked off. But before he was out of earshot he spoke frankly. "Don't tell anyone about this! I've got so many resources at my disposal!"

The cop muttered, "Like they'll care about your crooked money.."

 

She then left and went to Connie. "I found Cedric talking to one of his ex-gang members. He will appear to bail Mr. Cutter out."

 

Connie nodded. She'll just have to make sure Michael's bail is not cheap.

Michael was calm before the judge as the charges were read out to him. Harboring and siding a convicted felon. He had a lawyer of course, but he didn't know what best way to answer as he has never been on this side of the beech before.

 

The judge looked up and said, "Mr. Cutter, you have been an exemplarary district attorney and a upright citizen for so long... Why this sudden sudden turn in events?"

 

Michael said, "Because I believe that Cedric wants to channel for the better. I had to give him the chance to do so before the elements ended him."

 

The judge said, "But entering into a sexual relationship? Did you not once question this path."

 

Michael looked dorm and then said, "I can't explain how that happened but I will not pretend that it was easy. All I know I know is I would not have conducted myself differently."

 

The judge was silent after both of Michael's answers. As mike awaited his fate, his mind drifted to Cedric. He hoped the yong man was safe.

Cedric slipped away just in time. And then he ran out to his gang and told them outright to give them all the money. He took it and ran as far as he could. He ran to the courthouse and showed for Michael's court. He opened the doors quickly and quietly. Sitting down. He hoped he hadn't missed the bail.

Michael stood stoically as the judge focused on him closely. He asked, "Because of your past behaviour as a modeled citizen, I do not wish to put you away. However, I am concerned that upon bail you will reconnect with the other defendant. For those reasons... Unless you can assure you will not get in contact with this Cedric until both of your trials have gone through, I will reprimand you without bail."

 

Mike took in a sharp breath- Freedom or still be able to be with Cedric. Wait- how can he do the latter behind bars? Mike was not sure... He couldn't answer the judge right away.

Cedric noticed Michael thinking his options over carefully. And he couldn't help but wonder if he could help in any way. But he couldn't. And he knew that, but a small part of him kept trying; kept weighing out every possible outcome with every possible result. He sighed quietly and gave up as he watched the trial continue.

Michael glanced back a bit and saw Cedric sitting there. He smiled, waved at the young man lightly before turning to face the judge. "You know, your honor, that I cannot agree to that. However, what I can guarantee is that if you grant me bail I will ensure that Cedric and I show up to all our trial dates, as well as continue to be modelled citizens. I can guarantee that because that is what Cedric and I did up until Connie arrived at my house. We did not break any laws, and the meal we had at the restaurant was completely paid for. And at my house we were lovers. Simple."

 

The judge focused on Michael and then said simply, "Bail set for 2 million dollars. Hope someone brough their check book today."

Cedric snarled quietly and then nodded his head and stood. "You bet I did! And I'll post his damn bail right now!" He pulled out his checkbook and wrote a check right then and there. "And this is legit."

It did not take long for Mike to be bailed and for him to be standing right outside the courtroom. Thankfully, neither of them got put under house arrest so they both could wander around Manhattan. When Mike saw Cedric, his eyes lit up. He came up to his lover calmly and said, "Thank you for bailing me out, Cedric... What do you want to do now? What do we do now?"
