Julian sighed and nodded, his eyes drifting closed. He curled in a tighter ball next to the wolf and soon was fast asleep once more, breathing deep and slow.

Sardius scowled and took the snake back into his lap. Everything today was a complete failure. He got hurt while in a battle, instead of bringing back the prince of angels, he was sitting in a cave with him, he even revealed too much about himself to the angel... Maybe he really was too soft?

Julian slept with no nightmares this time. The wolf continued to lay next to him, gazing into the fire; his silent protector for the night.

Sardius stayed up through the night, throwing an occasional glance at the angel. He noticed how his gaze stopped on Julian's face more and more often... He had to get rid of him as soon as he could. The demon turned back to the fire and let out a sigh. Why did it turn out like this? His silver eyes drifting towards the sky, colored by red right now. Sunrise...

Julian blinked his eyes open and stretched his arms over his head, feeling slightly sore and stiff. But that could only be expected after sleeping on a cave floor. He sat up, rubbing his eyes sleepily, hair looking tousled and falling slightly in his face.

Sardius glanced over at the angel and let out a sigh. "Hurry up." He growled out quietly and stood up with the snake in his hands. The wolf was long gone - it went away sometime in the night. Sardius didn't catch the exact time, but he didn't actually care...

Julian blinked and looked up at the demon then sighed and climbed to his feet. He hesitantly walked over to him, knowing the demon was ready to be off. Julian looked up at him, shoving his hair out of his face. "Must you really throw me over your shoulder, like you are some kind of caveman. It is most uncomfortable."

Sardius glared at the angel as he stood up. "That's the only way I can be sure you won't escape." He said in a low tone. "Or would you prefer holding hands as some kind of human children?" The demon asked mockingly as he reached out to pull the angel closer by his waist. "If you don't like it so much, I can get you tied up and take you into my arms."

Julian scowled up at the demon, crossing his arms over his chest. "I would prefer that to being tossed about like a sack of flour." He huffed, wings rustling as he was pulled closer to the demon.

Sardius let out an annoyed groan before clacking his tongue. The snake immediately wrapped itself around the angel's body, her head reasting on Julian's shoulder. After this, the demon took the blonde into his hands and slowly walked off the cave before setting off into the sky.

Julian shifted slightly in the demons hold, found a comfortable position then settled down. He tried to ignore the snake wrapped around him and focused at the scenery that raced below them. The wind blew Julian's hair back and it flowed slightly behind him.

Sardius was finding it a little hard to keep his focus. A night without sleep had its bad sides after all... Still, he had to reach the King until sunset. While increasing the speed of his flight little by little, the demon glanced down at the angel. A slight scowl appeared on his face when he realized the other was a lot more comfortable than himself...

Julian glanced up at the demon and saw him scowling. Again. Why was he frowning all the time? Julian then realized that the demon was in the presence of an angel, a being he hated. Julian thought he would be frowning too, if he wasn't like he was and didn't mind the presence of demons.

Sardius simply kept on flying, his wings' movements getting slightly slower as time passed. A groan left his mouth as the demon looked around. Come on, the portal was supposed to be somewhere around here... The black-haired male's eyes widened a bit as he saw a circle of demons guiding it. The hell was going on?

Julian looked up at the demon then looked around as well, assuming the demon was looking for the portal. Julian saw it as well then frowned. Why was it being guarded? Had there been an attack or something?

"Oi, what happened here?" Sardius asked while flying to the demons. All of them seemed to turn their attention to him instantly. "The prince of Heavens was captured, that's what. The news spread easily, soldier. Get to the King instantly." One of them said and made a pathway to let Sardius fly through. While feeling slightly hesitant, the demon flew into the portal and let out a sigh as he found himself in complete darkness. It didn't take long until they both were in a land where two colors dominated: red and black.

Julian blinked. So they knew he was missing. He wondered what his father would do. Julian knew exactly what he was going to do. He would send out a search party but not out of concern for his sons safety, no, the only he would do it was because the people expected their kind to be distraught and want his son back at any cost. Julian almost snorted at the idea.

They pasted through the portal and Julian closed his eyes, only opening them when they had landed. The angel looked around curiously, having never seen the demon dimension before.

The demon let out a sigh as he flew past the houses of his race. Most families living here seemed poor... Sardius hated looking at them. He hated their pain, their misery and sadness... It wasn't going to change, he knew it, but he couldn't stop thinking about a better future. Maybe someday...

As Sardius reached the castle of the King, he gulped down a hard lump in his throat and landed on his feet. Slowly, the demon walked inside, where the black halls greeted him as a long-awaited guest. For some reason, he had a bad feeling about this...

Despite himself, Julian pressed closer to the demon. He had never met the demon king before and frankly, he was scared as hell that he was meeting him now. He didn't know what was going to happen to him. He just hoped if they were going to kill him it would be quick and painless. Julian took a deep, shaky breath, scared eyes staring in front of him.

Sardius slowly took a few steps that were nescessary to reach the main room. The demon took in a deep breath as he opened the doors, then walked inside. The blue flames dancing around the room created a cold atmosphere and Sardius shivered unconsciously. Once he reached the throne, the demon knelt down and lowered his head, putting the angel down. "My Lord." These were the only words that escaped Sardius' mouth before he was tossed to the wall by a mere gesture of the King's hand. Apparently, he wasn't too happy.

Julian was put down and he sat there, trembling from the cold and from fear. He saw the demon who had brought him here tossed into a wall and Julian let out a small squeak, shrinking back. He tried to curl in on himself, trying make himself look as small as possible.

Sardius let out a quiet, pained hiss as he fell on the ground. He didn't try to lift himself up. If that was what the King has done, it had some meaning. "So you're the prince of angels? Pathetic. Stand up when you come to my castle." The King spoke in a deep voice as his cold, black eyes pierced through Julian.

Julian took another shaky breath and climbed to his feet, the movements awkward with the snake still coiled around him. He stood there, looking small and pale as he raised blue eyes to meet those of the king. Julian forced himself to meet the demons gaze and not flinch even though his mind was screaming at him to run.

The King leaned in over to the light and his face was revealed completely. The man had black, long hair, a pair of big demon horns sticked out from them. His mouth was curled into a smirk as he watched the angel. "I thought the prince would have at least a little bit more fighting spirit... Sardius, release the snake." The King ordered and the mentioned demon could only obey. He motioned for the snake to get off, and with a hiss it moved away, disappearing into the dark. "Now, you." The King said while staring right at Julian. "You won't get any special treatment. You are a hostage. You don't have any rights until your "precious" father comes and rescues you... By admitting the demons won."

Sardius. So that was the demons name. Julian rubbed his arms from where the snake had been coiled too tightly, continuing to look up at the demon king. He paled at the demons last sentence. His father would rather die than admit defeat. And if that meant his son would die too then so be it. His father cared nothing for Julian so he wouldn't bat an eye if the prince died.
