Sorrow

Aria picked up his drink and took a small sip of it, glancing up at his servant. Noticing the sadness in his eyes, but he just assumed it was because of how Duvain felt about the man he was speaking about. The prince occasionally glanced up at Duvain as he ate his food, he really didn't like seeing the sad look in the elf's eyes. Wishing their was a way that he could make his servant feel better, but he didn't know how to make the other male feel better. "It'll be okay." he said softly, offering the other male a small smile.

Those words didn't seem to help at all. Instead, Duvain felt even more crushed, though it showed only for a few moments. The blonde tilted his head with sadness completely erased from his eyes. Well, at least for anybody else's eye. “I'm sure it will. Don't worry about me... You should eat and get ready for your lesson, my lord.“ The blonde said quietly, his voice shaking slightly when he said not to worry. His behavior was already causing a lot of suspicions... He didn't want to make the other have even more of them.

Aria blinked when he saw the crushed expression, making him even more worried. Why would him saying that make the elf so much sadder? It was really bothering him, he didn't know what to do without making Duvain even more upset. Biting down on his lower lip when he saw the sorrow completely fade from his servant's face, knowing very well he was masking his emotions, no one just suddenly stops feeling that much sadness. ".. I will always worry.. But, I'll eat." he said softly, taking another bite of food.

Duvain let out a barely audible sigh and nodded in agreement. Of course the prince wouldn't just stop worrying... He was simply too nice for that. The elf quietly turned his eyes back to the meal and continued eating in silence. He finished quite soon and let out a pleasured sigh. “I should give my compliments for the cooks... The food was indeed great.“ The blonde said with a small smile on his face. Of course, it was fake, but what other choice did he have?

Aria kept his gaze on his food, allowing the conversation to die. Eating his food in silence, he was too focused on Duvain to really enjoy his food. Only eating since the elf had wanted him to eat, head lifting when he had hear hi servant let out the delighted sigh. "I'm glad you like it, you can look forward to mels like this every morning." he replied, smiling back a tiny bit. Not really in the mood to smile himself, but he didn't want to upset the older male.

Duvain wasn't able to understand how did the prince manage to say words that hit him so bad. Why did he keep on reminding that there will be no more of them? The elf closed his eyes for a few seconds before letting out a smile. "I'm sure I will, my lord." The words that escaped his mouth were quiet, weak and... Lonely. The blonde didn't know how to deal with all this anymore. If he failed his mission, he was bound to end up dead or imprisoned. If he ran away, he would be treated like trash. He could still try and continue this mission... But what was the chance of success?

".. Are you sure you're alright..?" Aria questioned when he heard the emotions in the elf's answer, concern showing on his face. The fairy rose from his chair and walked around the table to his servant, placing a gentle hand on his chin, lifting it to make Duvain look at him. "You seem much more upset than you're willing to tell me, I don't want you being so sad.. I want to be able to cheer you up." he said, a worried frown on his face, gazing into the other's blue eyes.

Duvain's body stiffened slightly when Aria came up to him and lifted his chin. The elf let out a small sigh before smiling slightly. “The most you could do for me would be to forget about this for now. My Lord, I will be fine... You really should stop worrying.“ The blonde said with a small smile staying on his face. “If you still wish to know... I'll make sure to tell you tomorrow.“ He said quietly. The thought hit him pretty bad, and Duvain just wanted to either do it now, even if he knew he probably wouldn't be able to do it, or he could run... Which was impossible as well.

Aria watched Duvain when he saw the small mile, "... I'll try to forget about it.." he said softly, although it would be hard not to worry about his servant. The elf nodded his head when he was informed that if he was still curious, the elf would tell him tomorrow. "Alright, I'll let it go for the time being. Since breakfast is over, I'll head to my lessons. You can do as you please during that time, I'll be done in a few hours. I usually have my lessons in the library, it's on the third floor, it's entirely dedicated to the library."

Duvain tilted his head and nodded. “Would it be possible to come to your lesson?“ He asked while looking straight at Aria. It didn't seem like the prince would forget any time soon... Guess he had to put up his best act. The blonde stood up next to the other and let out a small smile. “And if that's not possible, I would like to just spend my time in the library. I heard there are rather interesting books, my lord...“

"You sure you want to? It's rather boring." Aria said, lowering his hand to his side. Watching Duvain as he stood up in front of him, "You can watch my lesson, if you want. I don't mind you being in there and it doesn't really matter what the teacher says." he responded, smiling a bit at the other male. Though he was still worried he pushed his thoughts aside so that he wouldn't bother his servant anymore than he already had.

Duvain managed a smile and nodded. “It would be my pleasure to observe your lesson, my Lord.“ The elf said and tilted his head slightly. The blue eyes never left Aria's face, gazing at it like it was some masterpiece. The blonde had no idea what was happening to him anymore... This was the first mission he'd fail in centuries... Why now? Why this one? Duvain kept on asking himself the same questions without letting it show on the outside. It was as if he was back to the emotionless elf like he was in the beginning.

"If you get bored you can just grab some books and read until I'm done with my lessons." Aria said, unable to help the faint blush that formed on his cheeks when he noticed the way Duvain was looking over his face. The attention was nice, but it was a bit different for him to be looked at like that by anyone.. But it was kind of nice, he almost didn't want the elf looking away from him. His own gaze focused on the man in front of him, looking into the elf's blue eyes.

Duvain let out a small smile and nodded. "That sounds rather nice, my Lord." He said softly as he looked at Aria. When his own blue eyes finally met the purple ones and he noticed the faint blush, Duvain felt something... Something warm in his chest. He took a step back and bowed his head politely. "Shall we go?" He asked with the same feeling raising in his chest. What in the world was that?!? An ilness of some kind? Well, it wouldn't be the worst way to die then...

"I'm glad that you think so." Aria said softly, it was nice for him to know that Duvain looked forward to the time they'd be in the library. The prince forced back a darker blush when he realized that the elf was looking at his face. Taking a deep breath after the other male stepped back and bowed, he almost felt like he someone offended his servant. Considering how quickly he moved back when he saw the blush. He nodded once the blush had faded away, looking at his guard. "Yes, we shall."

Duvain let a smile appear on his face yet again and he tilted his head. "Could you lead the way, my Lord?" He asked as something warm, like a fire, seemed to light up in his blue eyes. If all the time they seemed rather sad, or blank, now it was very different. It was as if water and fire were dancing together there - they truly seemed happy. The elf thought that the blush that seemed to linger on Aria's face was rather cute... He'd never thought of anything as cute before. This was a first for him for sure...

Aria's negative thoughts completely faded when he saw the smile, returning it happily. "I certainly can. I hope that you like the library, it's very big. My father has always been into collecting books." he said, purple eyes gazing into the other's blue orbs. Now this was an expression he liked, the elf seemed to actually be happy, he'd love to see it more often. "I like to see you happy." he blurted out.

Duvain blinked a few times, unsure of how to react to Aria's words. For a few seconds he just stood there without saying anything before letting a smile reappear on his face. "I will make sure to seem happy more often then." The elf answered seriously, thought there was a glint of teasing in his eyes. The blonde smiled at the faery and tilted his head. "I suppose we should get moving now. I wouldn't want you to be late to your lesson."

Aria tilted his head slightly in response to the delayed reaction, looking over the smile that formed. Pouting slightly when he heard the other's answer, "I like real happiness, not fake happiness." he said, lifting his hand to gently poke Duvain's nose. Nodding his head to the other male. "I suppose we should get going." he said, stepping down off of the gazebo. Honestly, he didn't really want to leave yet.

Duvain blinked and let a small chuckle escape from his mouth when the other poked his nose. The only one who was ever able to do that was... His brother... The elf's mind was momentarely filled with his little brother's death anniversary, yet sadness in his eyes could only be seen at the time Aria had turned away. The blonde took in a deep breath as he followed the prince, his steps as light as ever. Duvain was quickly able to hide his sorrow, though Aria's words about fake happiness echoed through his mind.

Aria's wings fluttered in a happy manor when he heard the soft chuckle, he hadn't really been expecting it but it was a nice thing to hear. The prince hummed happily, plucking a flower, back turned to the elf. He started to follow the maze, heading out of the garden. Knowing that no matter how much he wanted to stay there he needed to get to his lessons, or he'd be lectured by his teacher for his teacher for now showing up. He twirled the flower around his fingers before placing it behind his ear.

Duvain simply followed Aria, his blue eyes seemingly unable to leave the prince's body. They trailed over every curve, not one detail being left behind, until they stopped at the wings. Disgusting? Not at all. Maybe it was just something he was taught to think as an elf, but in reality... They were gorgeous. The elf caught himself thinking about how they fitted with the image of Aria, too. That was a rather weird thought...

Aria swung his hands back and forth as he walked, it wasn't a very princely way to walk but he did it when he wasn't being watched, well by anyone other than Duvain. Pretty wing still just a fluttering as he walked, he was in a better mood, he had managed to push his bad thoughts away. The fairy glanced back at Duvain for a moment as they left the garden, gaze turning back to in front of him. Heading towards the doors.

Duvain smiled to himself when he saw the way Aria was walking in. The elf couldn't help but think it was cute in a way... Duvain let a small sigh that wasn't even heard leave his mouth as his thoughts went back to what he had to do this night. The blonde closed his eyes for a few moments before deciding to throw it out of his head for the time being. He'd think about it when the time was right... The taller man's gaze drifted towards the doors in front of him. They were finally out of that maze...

The fairy's arms stilled once he could see the guards at the door, not wanting them to see his childish behavior. They would just go tell his father and he would be lectured for behaving that way, even if it was in the safety of his own home. Aria kept his arms at his sides and walked up to the door, allowing the guards to open the door before heading inside. Towards the long stair case so that he could get to his lessons.
