Lancelot16
Hi, i don't know if I should say my real name but you could call me Lance. Im a fifteen year old guy who discovered yaoi a few weeks ago so I'm really new to this, hehe. However, upon discovering it i basically fell in love with it. I'm a bisexual guy, well i don't really like the term "bi", actually i would fall in love with anyone, hehe thats really stupid. I really enjoy watching romantic love stories but i don't really have any romance in my life ever since i was born. My first crush lasted for 5 years since 1st grade to 5 grade without the person knowing it. In 6th grade i found a new crush, she was a transfer student, looking back i really did like her a lot but one of my best friend also likes her so i could say he's my competition. But, she never did tell both of us who she really like and in seventh grade i moved to Australia and i never talk to her ever since. After that last crush that really never gotten anywhere, i never had crush again in 4 years. Maybe i like romantic love stories because i really want to experience it. A few people came up to me but i push them away, cuz i don't want to lead them on something that is not going to happen and i also believe that you should only have a relationship with someone that you really like or love. This is not a good introduction is it, hehe but whatever. The weird thing is i never really had a crush on a guy but i really love yaoi, its the most romantic thing ever hehe. Well I'm really upset that i don't have someone to share and talk about my interest which yaoi so hopefully i could find someone to talk to cuz I'm really love yaoi cuz its so romantic hehe. lin senya
hi Lance!! welcome to yaoi otaku community!! we're the sama age but I guess I'm more familiar with both the site and yaoi manga (even though I'm basically a yaoi onlooker myself), i've been reading yaoi for about a year and half now... I'm happy that there are also guys who read yaoi and not girls only!! I began to think that my childhood friend was the only one weird enough to read them (in fact, he's the one showed me yaoi in first place!) I'll be glad to answer any questions you may ask and show you the must-read yaoi manga; but you'll have to precise the genre you like, I mean every single one has a different taste and a different point of view; what I found great may seem boring to you and vice versa... the word romance manga is way too general!! well personally I hate crybaby protagonists and stereotypical poker-faced seme... I hope you'll enjoy your stay on YO and I also hope you'll find your love interest in REAL life!! for me as a result of reading too much manga I lost interest in actual life's 3D persons!! I hope we'll become good friends!
Lancelot16
hi lin senya, i know romance manga is too broad but honestly i love anything romantic, and so far after watching some yaoi anime i haven't watched one which i didnt like. but i dont know if thats the case for manga because i havent actually read one before but i would love to if you show me some great ones but honestly im not really too keen on reading, but for yaoi ill do it hehe. and i also hope we can be great friends

lin senya
sorry for not replying earlier, i absolutly understand you prefering anime over manga; i was like that too, until i realized that i had much more chances of finding a worthy show (well, one that suits my tastes...) in manga, cuz not everything gets adapted to anime!! but there are some good anime too! i think Sekaiichi Hatsukoi is the one i personally like the most, it has acceptable art, interesting storyline, realistic protagonists, and hilarious reactions!! it's not too explicit either so it's a good anime for yaoi beginners. it has 2 seasons and many couples (1 main couple and 2 supporting ones) +2 ova... you can probably find it in any anime site it's by Shungiku Nakamura (who also did Junjou Romantica which is another great yaoi!) in case you already watched it please send me the list of yaoi anime you've seen so that i'll be able to do my best in guiding you in the future. Thanks for your friendship invitation! just call me lin! P.S: it's a personnal question you're not obliged to answer. Don't your parents mind your watching yaoi? mine are extremly strict when it comes to homosexuality, however i'm very openminded about it! you can't choose who you fall in love with; the sex is a minor detail!! i think that if they happen to find out... I'M DEAD MEAT!!!!

Lancelot16
hi lin, the yaoi animes that ive seen so far are sekai ichi hatsukoi which is also my favourite and junjou romantica and for the personal question, my parents doesnt know that i watch yaoi and if they ever find out ill also be dead meat, hehe. my parents are hardcore catholics btw, they force my siblings and i to go to church every sunday and i cant really do anything about it, if only they can be open minded

lin senya
hi Lance, how are you? I utterly agree on the fact that sekaiichi hatsukoi is a greaaaaaaaat anime!! it means we have similar interests! if you liked it it makes reccomending manga much easier...sinceits your first time reading yaoi it's probably better to start with softcore (one that's not too explicit... some are srsly shoking! I mean, I do not consider myself as being prude but I prefer not getting too involved...), well, starting with anime: since you like romance, I guess you would rather watch something where you can observe the relationship's sentimental development; so Shonen Ai would be more appropriate (Shonen Ai is a genre that features the romantic feelings between two guys but without sex scenes, or very light ones, in fact; sekaiichi and romantica are both considered as being Shonen Ai by most sites.)well, there's Gakuen Heaven which was adapted to anime after being having great success as a BL game (I played the game, some parts were Yaoi but the anime is fairly no more than shonen ai), there's Kirepapa which is an oav of 3 episodes, there's Betrayal Knows My Name or simply uraboku (an extremely light one usually called border shonen ai, it basically means that romance is present but not enough to make it the central theme of the whole anime which is also the case of Kyo Kara Maou) there other anime such as Monochrome Factor or Sukisyo too... I started watching them but after 2 or 3 eps I was like: "nah! i'm wasting my life watching such horrible art!! the pathetic animation sure hurts my eyes! (in some cases it's the characters' bodies' disproportion like in Okane Ga Nai)umm... ah! I just remembred! the last one i've watched was Gravitation! well, the romance is the thyeme of the anime, the songs weren't that bad (it's about a singer), the seme was kinda cool too, BUT, oh my dear god! the uke was such a brat!! (seme means Top in a relatioship and uke means Bottom, since you're new I thought it's better to tell you, just in case...) so, i got pissed off and stopped watching... well, let's see, there are also a lot of OVAs but I didn't really like them cuz it's not long enough to enjoy the development (a maximum of 3 eps) but if you have reeeeeally nothing else to do maybe you should try Maiden Rose OR Loveless( the first is a hardcore and the latter felt more like paedophilia rather than romance...). i guess that's all for anime, now Manga! the first one I personnaly read was Private Prince(yaoi) and the one I like the best is Boys Next Door. SORRY LANCE, right now I have an appointement so I can't continue cuz the list is really long!! i'll make sure to finish this post when i return home!! ahh! and soory for being overly curious yesterday, my parents are pretty much the same!!! if you have time you better check Boys next door by kaori yuuki (however,it may seem weird to you cuz i'm a big horror and tragedy lover) bye lance!! see you later! Lancelot16
hi lin, I'm good thanks. how are you? i have seen kire papa and now watching gakuen heaven. Talking about watching yaoi anime, i really like the ones with more romance and less sexual stuff.i also hated the bad animation art and the disproportional bodies of the characters on some of the old yaoi anime that i tried watching. i will try watching the and reading your recommendations but it might take awhile for me to be able to do that, (family issues). and for being curious, its fine dont worry about it, hehe. Thanks again
