Saga
」 His breaths followed irregularly but yet in a calming manner. It hurt, to have your body tortured by bunch of snakes that were nothing like pet-snakes. At least they could be cuter, he thought, as his eyes averted to side for a glance. Son of wisdom, how ridiculous. Right now he didn't need wisdom but at least enough of power to break the chains. Another glance, another shift. - Ngh.. - a flinch escaped his spine, as he tried to stand on foot; knees seemingly numb. Tiredly he tugged at the cold restrains to frown at the steps outside. But it wasn't Apep. Apep walked way more gracefully, the steps he heard were nothing but ones of a tyrant. When the gate was slammed open with force and brute-push gesture of palms, a rather huge man stood before Thoth. The moon child couldn't recognize the god, his powers sucked to minimum, more or less he couldn't rely on his inner library right now. However, the other man cracked a grin in a rather devilish way, - So this is the hidden side of the moon? - in a mocking way he spoke in Greek as if challenging Thoth. The wisdom god stayed silent; it was too plain to throw a childish question such as 'who are you'. Whoever he was, he could enter either without Apep knowing or with Apep's permission. - What's wrong? You can't understand Greek or you want me to switch to the old known Latin? - it was known language among gods, so they often used it to communicate between each other. It wasn't that Thoth didn't know the language, if anything he knew all languages, but the god disliked these eyes. The male walked in with hands gesturing for the snake that sucked spiritual power off Thoth and it just turned into a hard rock to be crashed in between his strong fingers. Needless to mention, he was tall. - So you decided to join my son after all? - he crouched before Thoth so their eyes met the same level, - Isn't he marvelous? In fact, all of my children make me proud. It wasn't Zeus. He knew Zeus really well and whatever form Zeus would take, Thoth would always recognize him. That man though was a pure evil. He even wondered if he could surpass Apep on that matter. But still, he didn't speak. - Oh, come on. - he laughed at the god's silence and gestured with hand as if saying 'don't be shy', - You still can't grasp who am I? I was at the party and gave you your drink; the fateful drink that blurred your mind and you couldn't use your illumination over the crowd of gods. A mocking smirk, eyes met Thoth's glare. - Kronos. - Thoth almost growled the name in the male's mother language. - Ah, finally. - Kronos on other hand rolled eyes as got up to stand before the wisdom god, - Join me, Thoth. Let's destroy Egypt and dry up Nile. Let's rule the world and show them what means to be a god. Humans should serve us, not the other way around. - Hah.. - he rose his chin up, - What's wrong with you all? You can't find a nice ally that you ask me to join you? Thoth knew his value, a reason to be 'wanted' as a weapon. He obtained a very dangerous knowledge, enough to be destructive. Secrets and spells that no mere god could lay eyes on. But the god of the sun, Rah, planted enough of light in Thoth's dark moon heart. - Apep is not exactly my ally. More like a stepping stone. I need you to annihilate anyone in my way and make sure other powerful gods won't have the power needed to fight me. You can do that, can't you? After all, you know the "Obscure" spell. In fact, you're the only one who does - the secret weapon of the Moon. - ..I suppose you are aware that I want to break your neck. And I can't stop myself from asking, why would I do that for you? - clear enough Thoth soothed any painful emotion off his face. - Strategy, my dear. It's dangerous times, you see. You can't know when you might need my help. For example, I can set you free now, take it as a payday loan. Silence for more than twenty seconds. The moon god dangled tiredly as lowered his chin down. - I see. You seem to be useless, same as your father. Departing steps were the seconds he needed to reorder his thoughts. On the first he thought, revenge is not what he sought. On the second, he knew the gods could stand against Apep if united together, but Apep and Kronos together was out of question. The third step, wasn't it better to have Apep turned against Kronos due to betrayal? Step fourth, but then he himself would look like a traitor. But wasn't he the scribe of the truth? Could he hide well enough his OWN truth? A squeeze of jaw, - Wait.
