Rikimaru
The death penalty is exists because it serves the purpose in society of public execution did in the ages before us. Public execution was a form of controlling a kingdom's people, by fear. Now that we have widespread surveillance, camera's everywhere, fear that someone's watching you, the powers that be are shifting away from using it. Proper rehabilitation, well funded and well operated mental health facilities are a wonderful alternative to the death penalty. Crime in general is lower in places where women have access to abort children that may grow up in resentment and poverty. It'd also be lower if the minimum wage was high enough for people to lead a healthy, happy and reasonably luxurious life. And another thing is ... oh my... i have ranted for too long!!! Sociology has many theories about these things, and maybe answers. Why do people look away when you make eye contact with them?

Killing them to set an example, but it doesn't bring anyone back. No, don't apologize for rambling. I like rambling, especially about philosophy and the like. Ahem. People look avoid eye contact, when eye contact is trying to be established, if they want to avoid sparking interaction/conversation or feel intimidated (consciously and/or subconsciously). I try to not avoid eye contact, because I want to express my sincerity and interest in the person speaking to me. However, I have an old habit of not making eye contact, when shy or distracted. In the past, I felt eye contact was intimate, and it kinda is. You're really looking at someone...into someone. Perhaps, people don't want to be read. Maybe they feel vulnerable. - - - Updated - - - Ahhhhh, fuq. A question. Uhm~ why is the horizon increasingly blue the more distant it gets? XDDD Just kidding~ Most of the world uses the 24 hour clock system, actually... For some reason the US doesn't; we call it "military time" though~ I guess it's sort of like how we use inches and feet instead of centimeters and meters... we like being special; along with a few other countries who also don't use the 24 hour system and the metric system. Okay~ So the 12 hour clock formed back when people used the Sun and Moon (and stars) to keep track of time. In daytime, they used the cycle of the Sun and at night, the cycle of the moon. (By cycle I mean the constantly shifting position of each celestial body~) So that eventually evolved into the 12 hours of day, and 12 hours of night. Basically A.M. stands for the Latin: "ante meridiem". That translates to "Before Midday (or Noon)" ("diem" is day, and meri is probably some form of middle... not sure~) P.M. stands for the Latin: "post meridiem". That translates to "After Midday (or Noon)" M. is just "meridiem" which is just 12:00 (Noon) Most 12 hour clocks have it as 12:00 PM, but it's technically not "After Noon" XD Question: Why does salt/sodium make you thirsty? (Imagine just eating a chunk of salt... =.=)
trishaotaku
Your brain's "thirst center" knows when your body fluid is too salty and sends you a message to drink more water so your balance of sodium-to-body-fluid is restored. Mitto-kun
It's because of greed, selfishness, and so on and so forth. We, humans, are not contented of what we have and get easily jealous because we don't have "that" one thing but wishes to have, thus having no choice but to have what you have now... THEN back to square one even after you fuqing got what you fuqing want to have before... JEALOUSSSYYYYY, WHHHYYY????
